How bad has it gotten in France? Daniel Pipes answers:
They go by the euphemistic term Zones Urbaines Sensibles, or Sensitive Urban Zones, with the even more antiseptic acronym ZUS, and there are 751 of them as of last count. They are conveniently listed on one long webpage, complete with street demarcations and map delineations.
What are they? Those places in France that the French state does not control. They range from two zones in the medieval town of Carcassone to twelve in the heavily Muslim town of Marseilles, with hardly a town in France lacking in its ZUS. The ZUS came into existence in late 1996 and according to a 2004 estimate, nearly 5 million people live in them.

France will soon be a Muslim country if things keep going the way they are. At the moment Muslims comprise 10% of the French population and they already have the nerve to do what they're doing in the video.

If they get to 20% at the very least, you can pretty much multiply everything those Muslims are doing in Dave's paragraph not by two but by twenty. They'll pretty much block off roads, put their rugs all over the sidewalk and street so no one can drive through, deprive shop owners of business for ten hours, decide who enters the street and harass non-Muslims freely.

This video is a perfect illustration of how Islam - what many people gullibly believe to be a "religion" - is nothing more than a creeping, totalitarian political, and ultimately nihilistic, movement. It all starts with instances such as what's in the video and grows from there to the ultimate for Muslims - the imposition of holy Islamic Sharia law and the subjugation and/or death of non-Muslims.

France, please reclaim your heritage and culture away from Islam which is your worst enemy. Forget what you think about Israel - she can't hurt you. Right now, you've got a fifth column inside your country. Even if it's only for the sake of your croissants, save yourself please.

I visited Paris and other French cities back in the day before 9/11, before Muzlims had gotten so bold and brash and aggressive and threatening. Indeed, I don't recall seeing a Muzlim, not even in Lyon. I don't recall Muzlims praying in the streets on Fridays. In short, the France I visited had nothing whatsoever to do with Muzlims. "Muzlim" never crossed my mind. How long ago am I talking about? 18 years ago. A mere 18 years.

So, I weep for the Paris I visited which was wonderful and not the Muzlim hell-hole it is today.

I'm not sure about French law but I've got to believe that any freedom to practice religion does not include the seizure of public streets, the denial of access to public areas, impeding a businesses access to customers (and visa-versa), harassment, denial of access to your home, etc, etc, etc. It is inconceivable to me that the French people tolerate their government doing nothing in the face of such flagrant lawlessness. And there are hundreds of other ZUS in other European countries, and their numbers continue to grow. Meanwhile, the EU overlords inhibit national authorities from doing anything about this, and enact policies that encourage the growth of the ZUS. It's a beautiful example of the Marxist dialectic in action: the centralization of power in the EU -- the thesis -- is calling forth its opposite, the extreme localization of power in the ZUS -- the antithesis. Poor Europe!

Seriously-- This is one thing that really gripes me about Islam. This display of "prayer" is nothing of the sort. It's a vain, ostentatious intimidation tactic. It says: "Look at us! We're Muslims, and we are holier than you. Now, go away. The public right of way doesn't belong to you, anymore."

Well, guess what, Mr. Muslim: God doesn't approve of vanity, ostentation, nor intimidation. What you are doing is not pleasing to God.

And to think there are those non-Muslims who would see this, and see nothing wrong here, and would even question why the cameraman is there.

This calls to mind one of the jokes played on the public by the Montreal-based comedy hidden-camera show Just for Laughs: Gags (based more on the European Just Kidding! than Candid Camera, as language isn't a factor in viewing people's reactions). Anyway, they had "Muslims" (or people dressed like them, in turbans and robes) get behind a parked car (which couldn't go any other way, as there was a wall there) and start "praying". People just stood there, and didn't know what to do. I think they did show one guy who simply got into his car and turned the key, though, but I can't remember; maybe it's just what I _wanted_ to see someone do, it's been a while. If not, I bet there were a few who did. I would have; I don't care what your religion is, you have no right to block my vehicle unless you're a police officer or construction traffic control or something like that.

The cameraman said no, it's a public street, and demanded to see a writ from the city saying that is was a defacto mosque. Mr. Herringbone then accused the photographer of "playing with words."

Such a strange mindset, believing you are so much better than other people. A dangerous and ungodly idea. I'm so thankful that the true God teaches that we do unto others (that's ALL others, not just people that believe what we do) as you would have them do unto you. Bienvenue French Resistant! It was nice reading your post on this issue from a French perspective. Thanks for translating and describing the situation for us Anglo-phones. It has been 10 years since I was in Paris, but never did I see such a scene as in this video. French people should stand up & defend their proud culture and heritage! Hopefully, more people will awaken to the threat Islam and its creeping Sharia pose to Western values. With more young people like yourself, France may still have a chance.

Then wait, wait for the peoples of Europe and North America to discover what the Muslims in their midst demand and do, wait until they, and other Infidels, come to recognize and fully grasp the nature of the menace that the adherents of Islam, whatever instruments of Jihad they employ (those instruments need not include terrorism or even qitaal, military combat), are out to transform the world, and to remove all obstacles to the spread, and then the dominance, of Islam. Wait until many of the world's Infidels come to realize that if Israel goes under, that will whet, not sate, Arab and Muslim appetites, and do damage to Infidel morale as it will increase the triumphalism of Muslims world-wide. This would be very bad for the West. It would constitute a geopolitical disaster, for Israel, and a moral disaster, and a morale disaster, for all believing Christians and Jews who would now see the Holy Land under Muslim rule, with all that that would now imply. That would be intolerable.

There is nothing more ridiculous than a believer who passes off his zealous belief as a fact. Just as Christians had to do in the passage of time, Muslims too will have to learn that THEY DON'T KNOW, THEY BELIEVE. They don't decide, God decides. They must confront the fact that THEY are not God.

The pretentiousness coming from these Muslim commenters goes much beyond faith-it goes fully into smug vanity. If they want to be treated with respect in the world they need to start behaving with some humility and grace. What is a jihadist but a person who overreaches to claim God's power? What is a suicide bomber but a person who wipes his feet on the lives God created? What is a moderate Muslim than a mute too cowardly to confront those defiling his God and poisoning his faith? Proud traditions of rage, violence, vengeance, ingratitude and misogyny have grown inside Islam and now form its essence. There is no room for God in those ugly spaces.

What we should be hearing is a cacophony of Muslim voices demanding decent behavior from their ranks, demanding some reflection on the savagery of acts in their book imitated on earth today, some reaching of a determination that those acts are not justified. But they won't, because indecent behavior is sanctioned and because literal adherence to the historical code of the Koran is rampant. So they segregate the sexes, commoditize the women, justify violence, and prostate themselves before God publicly while they puff out their chests inwardly.

These people blocking the street say that some "have no opportunity to pray inside the mosque," so they are on the street doing it. Implicit in their blocking the street-a public space-is the perceived right to seize public space for Islamic purposes. What a brilliant example of ingratitude towards their host country and vanity about their religious beliefs.

As is so often the case, the French make the British look positively heroic by comparison.
