Now wait a minute. Islamic apologists in the West are forever telling us that Aisha was not nine years old when Muhammad consummated his marriage with her, and that only greasy Islamophobes think otherwise. Yet the largest opposition bloc in the Bahraini Parliament seems to be full of greasy Islamophobes, since the only "Islamic principles" that would lead them to oppose setting the minimum marriage age for girls at fifteen arise from Muhammad's example in marrying Aisha.

Mohammed (BBOH) himself married Ayesha at age six and "consumated" (raped) the marriage at age nine. And Mohammed is the most perfect of men! They must not read the Qur'an, the aHadiths or the Sira! Talk about shirk!
Whenever you get that "no one knows how old Aisha was" or "she was not nine, but nineteen" or "I have no idea about Aisha's age, I'll have to look it up" stuff, simply state that the Ayatollah Khomeini, a learned theologian, was apparently convinced that little Aisha was nine; Khomenini's first important act as ruler of Iran was to lower the marriageable age of girls to nine years.
So, Bahrain has a "law" that sets the minimum marriage age for girls at 15.

This is justified by the "well Aisha got married under 9, and no one can be better than Muhammad's example, so that's OK for everyone then" excuse.

So what step is that then, exactly? The parents agree, the judges and courts won't disagree, the age limit is useless.
Bahrain has Sharia law, so which court and judge is realistically going to go against Muhammad's example?

Our dear old friend Khomeini Married a ten year old girl and described it as 'A divine blessing' He also said it was o.k to have sex with animals such as camels, cows and sheep. However, he did caution that after one reached a climax the animal must be killed. He further cautioned that one should not sell the meat in one's own village, but selling it in a neighbouring village was permissible. Khomeini was also of the opinion that a marriage was not invalidated if a husband sodomised the brothers, uncles or father of his wife. Another of the Ayatollah's ideas was that a female virgin prisoner should be raped by a prison guard on the night before her execution. This was to ensure that she would not gain entry to Paradise. After the female's execution a marriage certificate was sent to her parents together with a box of chocolates as a wedding gift. I am sure you will all agree that Islam is a wonderful enlightened and civilised religion. We should all sign up and buy a cow or camel and set up as butchers. But remember, don't sell the meat in your own village.

It's not a loophole in the law. It's meant to stop abuse of Islamic Law.
There is nothing wrong with marrying an 8 year old as long as you follow the Quran and the words of the profit Muhammad (PBUH).
The Quran says clearly that you can marry her, but you have to wait until she reaches maturity before having intercourse.

Remember, Someone narrated the following Ayat in front of Imam Jafar-e-Sadiqa.s., ‘Tahazo …..’ [9] Meaning that Christians have deserted Allahswt. In the favour of their scholars and peers, and requested the meaning of this verse. Imama.s. replied, Christians were not asked to worship their scholars and peers, if they were asked to do so by their priests then Christians would have rejected them. Instead, their peers turned their Halal into Haram and converted their Haram into Halal. They (Christians) followed their priests (did taqleed) and as a result had worshiped them unconsciously.

I have two 12 year old wives and a 23 year old wife.
I don't have sex with my 12 year old wives, they come from poor families and they are in school now getting an education, which if not married to me their families couldn't afford.
They are not mature enough for sex and I wish them to finish University before having children.
Now does Islam sound like a bad for allowing me to marry them.
Do not look at a child bride as some old pervert wanting to have sex with a child.
Learn from the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) he married Aisha when she was 6 and let her play with toys and have her friends over, he treated her with a kind heart as a child. Then he didn't force himself on her he waited until she was ready to be intimate with him. It was of her own free will, if she was 9 years old, which is possible. Then there was no wrong done. I find it hard to believe she was, knowing my wives. They are much to small now at 12, but all women mature at different ages.
Don't be just in your decision about Islam.

Here are some interseting facts I found,
Ayesha was betrothed to be married to Jubayr ibn Mut'im before 610 AD. this marriage had been decided years ago. She was to be married to him in 615 AD, a marriage that never happened due to Jubayr’s father’s opposition. Ayesha would have been married at that time had her father and she not converted to Islam. How old was she when she was to be married to Jubayr? Was it 6 or 9 years of age?
She was a girl who converted to Islam, with her older sister, in the first few months of Muhammad receiving the revelation and declaring his Prophet Hood. How old was she when she did this?
There are 2 frequently mentioned numbers that are repeated in some histories. Let us use both these numbers in different scenarios.
Let us presume that she was 6 at the time of her conversion to Islam, in 610 AD. Five years later, in 615 AD, she migrated to Abyssinia and five years after that, she migrated to Medina.
If she were 6 at conversion, she was 11 at migration to Abyssinia (and was to be married to Jubayr). She was 16 at the time of migration to Medina. She has to be about 19 at the time of her marriage because her marriage took place in the third year of Muhammad’s migration to Medina.
Let us now presume that she was 9 when she converted to Islam, in 610 AD. In 615 AD, five years later, she migrated to Abyssinia, when she was 14. Five years later, at 19, she migrated to Medina. Two and a half years later, when she was almost 22, she married Prophet Muhammad.
She cannot be 6 or 9 when she married Muhammad (pbuh). She lived for 10 years in Mecca, and she was already a convert to Islam at that time. She was already betrothed to another man when she converted to Islam, after her father did and older sister accepted the call of Islam. She then moved to Medina, and married Prophet Muhammad in the third year of his move to Medina, making her age in early 20s, at least.
It is not possible for her to be not even conceived in her mother’s womb and yet betrothed to another man, before 610 AD.
She could not have converted to Islam one (or three years) before her actual birth!
She could not be less than 18 or maybe 23 when she was married to Muhammad.
