COPENHAGEN - A Danish court on Friday sentenced a Palestinian man to 10 years for the shooting of two Israelis in a Danish shopping mall on New Year's Eve 2008, judicial authorities said.
Wissam Freiijeh, a 28 year-old Palestinian born in a refugee camp in Lebanon but who has lived in Denmark since the age of seven, admitted to a court in the city of Odense that he shot at a cosmetics stand held by three Israelis, hurting two of them in the arm and the leg.
Freiijeh told the court he shot at the men, who sold products made with Dead Sea minerals, because of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the Jewish State's three-week offensive in Gaza which was launched in December 2008.
"Israelis have taken everything from me, killed my relatives, taken their land and houses. I only have one aunt left," he said.
He added he had not intended to kill the victims, who survived. Two Danish customers who were at the cosmetics stand during the shooting were not hurt.
Could we call this anything other than garbage? Freiijeh left Lebanon at age 7. His family, if Palestinian, presumably left Israel in 1948. They lived on U.N. assistance for decades before coming to Denmark. Freiijeh has no first hand experience of anything the Israelis did to his family, and probably not even second hand experience, due to the time elapsed. Freiijeh is just trying to justify an anti-Semetic attack using boilerplate rhetoric that could have come from Fatah or Hamas. I think the Danes should deport this individual after he serves his sentence. Also, it would be a good idea to deport his family as well, since it seems that they have brought him up with such notions.
Jewish life seems to be cheap in Denmark. 10 years would be a weak sentence for armed robbery in the United States.

So, rather than taking revenge on those who had (supposedly) so much harm to him, he picks out two Israelis at random, and opens fire on them. In a mall. With customers at the counter.
In my opinion, that's pretty screwed up.
As to his not killing them, I can only infer that he was a lousy shot.
An armed civilian could have stopped this attack. I would have stopped it permanently.

Being pointed out and publicly congratulated as a model immigrant was the beginning of the end for this p.o.s. It immediately made him an object of peer hatred and contempt and gave the PR radicalizers a target, a perfect means publically to spit in the face of the host country and get away with it very lightly.
When will we Europeans learn that no amount of sucking up to Islam at any level, no kindness, no handout, no mercy will elicit a single grain of gratitude? Just contempt, and the next atrocity.

Following Freijeh's arrest, local police were investigating rumours that he had been chosen as henchman due to his Danish citizenry, meaning he could not be deported, and that his family were to be paid a large sum of money collected among Arabs in his neighbourhood. They were unable to prove these claims, however.
