Google still buggy about Islam, day 12

Self-Imposed Dhimmitude Update: It is now twelve days since I first posted about how Google is censoring negative search suggestions on Islam, and six days since the mighty Internet giant claimed that this was not dhimmi self-censorship, but a "bug," and would soon be corrected.

Twelve days, six days, and the best minds at Google, a pioneer and master of Internet technology, can't seem to figure out how to wire their search box so that it pops up suggestions for "Islam is" that are comparable to the suggestions you get for "Buddhism is" or "Hinduism is" or "Christianity is." Try it for yourself. Search for "Christianity is" at Google and a host of negative recommendations pop up:

ChristianityIs.jpg

It's the same thing for "Buddhism is," "Hinduism is," etc. But when you search for "Islam is," no negative recommendations come up -- indeed, no recommendations at all:

IslamIs.jpg

The same "bug" appears at Google's YouTube.

What a coincidence that Google's "bug" would crop up in a way that shelters the world's most thin-skinned religion from criticism! The one religion shielded from adverse judgment at Google is also the only religion that has is currently engaged in an organized campaign to stifle honest discussion about its texts and teachings that inspire violence. In 2008 the Secretary General of the 57-government Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), the largest voting bloc at the United Nations today, Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, warned the West about "red lines that should not be crossed" regarding free speech about Islam and terrorism. For years now the OIC has spearheaded an effort at the UN to compel member states to criminalize what it calls "defamation of religions," but by which it clearly means any honest discussion of the texts and teachings of Islam that jihadists invoke to justify violence and supremacism. Interestingly enough, the OIC stepped up this campaign in the wake of the publication of cartoons of Muhammad in a Danish newspaper that touched off worldwide Muslim riots. Google, at the time those riots were raging, was dutifully removing from YouTube videos that depicted the cartoons.

Thus when the OIC has Google, it doesn't need international edicts muzzling free speech. Like many on the Left, Google seems all too willing to carry water for the Islamic bloc's war against free speech and to oblige the OIC's totalitarian and thuggish influences, by voluntarily refraining from doing anything that might offend Muslims. While its restriction of the automated search suggestions may seem insignificant, its overall willingness to conform to notoriously fragile Islamic sensibilities and deep-six criticism of Islam is anything but trivial.

Why don't they just come out and 'fess up that they're afraid for their employees safety, etc., etc., as Barnes & Noble did a few years back.

Everybody KNOWS businessmen seek peace, not war.

What's that you say? Google & Co. are pretty far left; they'd have to admit to their capitalist reality? Oh, geez...they've got themselves in quite a tangle, don't they?

Perhaps this one "problem" (wink wink, nudge, nudge) should now be added, along with the Goldbach Conjecture, the Collatz Problem, and the Riemann Hypothesis, to the list of unsolved mathematical problems.

What's the contact info (email or phone) for Google's PR/Marketing team?

Perhaps it is time to get an email campaign going?

I haven't used Google since this became public. I won't use Google until it is corrected, either. They are clearly not a reliable source of information at this point. I'd put them in the same category as Wikipedia.

I mean, really.....even I could have figured out and corrected the "bug" by now.

Does someone have more information on this specific aspect of the problem?

Isn't the search suggestion supposed to just be an automatic calculation? Google staff should have nothing whatsoever to do with the suggestions.

For any subject, say "cherry", if two million people around the world search for "cherry pie recipe" and one million people search for "cherry bomb" and then there are multiple other searches for various things, the suggestions merely are listed in the order of the most requests whatever has actually been searched for. If some group of crazy people numbering three million all search for "cherry pickle tart" then even though it is sort of ridiculous it would appear first in the suggested search list. It is almost impossible for a human to interact with all of the search results adding or deleting what they want.

The next stage of google staff involvement comes in the form of the results after a search, and apparently that is also being manipulated. That is much more complex in that they need algorithms to decide which pages hit for "cherry pie recipe" but again preference should not be given to some food site that pays google to be listed first, unless they are over in the paid results section. Here, google probably manually excludes sites it does not like if they are anti-jihadist or criticize Islam etc. What they should do is list first whichever site that includes "cherry pie recipe" that has the most page hits from people all over the world.

For what it's worth, when jihad is typed into Google, JihadWatch is the first suggested hit.

It's not just google. Have any of you read Wikipedia lately? Read any article on Islam, say dhimmi, for instance, (did I spell that correctly? maybe we should just use our own words instead of theirs, for instance, instead of dhimmi, we should say "subjegated second class citizen,") ... but just read any entry on Islam in Wiki and you will see how slanted they are in favor of Islam. Muslims are all over that thing, planting their propaganda. We need to bring this to light. We need to ammend these Wikipedia articles to reflect the truth, not Islam's version of the truth. Being a subjegated second class citizen in Islam is not a good thing, as one might think when reading the article.

The inidividual Wiki articles for countries, i.e., Islam in , are nauseating. Some actually invite conversion! The Latin American ones are especially interesting in their claims of brotherhood with Latin Americans. Check your country's mention in Wiki and have a go at correcting the propaganda. Write Wikipedia and find out how much Islam is contributing to this very influential web site.

I wonder if they filter out multiple searches from the same ip address. Someone could set up their computer to search for "Islam only true religion" over and over again 24 hours a day 7 days a week and theoretically that could bump that search up in the google suggestions.

Another way that the suggested searches could be tabulated would be listing them not in the order of what other users have searched for but rather what would return the highest number of hits. So if you enter "Christianity is" the first result would be whatever phrase filled in resulted in the highest number of hits in results. It is unlikely that any of the attack phrases currently showing up would appear if this was the method of selection.

Has anyone tested how many hits each of the selected phrases gets for any of the religions?

A quick test shows something interesting:

Christianity is bullsh*t 2,210,000
Christianity is wonderful 43
Christianity is true 6,690,000

So why wouldn't "Christianity is true" appear at the top of the list or at least higher than bullsh*t?

If more people are really entering searches for "is bullsh*t" then that would at least be a logical explanation, but if more people are searching for that wouldn't more people be writing pages that contain that also?

Google programmers must be "tweaking" the results sort of like the way that the Man Made Global Warming "Scientific" Researchers were doing. In their case if the temperature wasn't high enough they just added a few data points here and there and presto the graph looked correct in order to promote the scam. With google, if "Christianity is true" returns many more results than "Christianity is bullsh*t" then clearly, since that is just absurd and "everyone" knows it, they "tweak" the results and put "is bullsh*t" at the top.

Google just doesn't have the 'cojones' to deal with this seventh century religion. We are in the 21st century, but
you are dealing with people who are stuck in another age.

I hope that there is nobody reading here so naive as to believe that Google has a technical problem fixing this.

Their algorithms could be somewhat complex and it is possible that someone hid this sort of thing in some sort of hidden routine so that they can then allow the junior programmers to hunt and hunt but never be able to figure out what is going on. If they are blatantly cowtowing to Muslims either for money or for ideology they most likely have made every attempt to hide it as much as possible burying it in the depths of their programs. But the results speak for themselves, it is more or less impossible that these results would occur randomly.

What I love is at the end of the list. After these stupid inhuman islamists say Chritianity, Judaism is bullshit, a lie and fake, they state Christian, Judaism islam SIMILARITIES!! Its like the islamists are saying, "Hey,we are a fake religion bullshit cult!, and we really want you to know this."

try "Islam is shit" it actually delivers
