An intruder who was shot and wounded by police after breaking into the Denmark home of Muhammad cartoonist Kurt Westergaard has links to Islamic terrorists, according to Danish intelligence.The 28-year-old Somali man is connected to the radical Islamist al-Shabaab militia and al-Qaeda leaders in East Africa, claims Denmark's PET intelligence service.
Police say the intruder entered the property by smashing a window and was carrying a knife and axe. He has been charged with two counts of attempted murder after a court hearing today in Aarhus, Denmark. The 74-year-old, whose cartoons of the Muslim prophet Muhammad sparked riots five years ago, has had numerous threats on his life and his house in Viby, near Aarhus, is heavily fortified with security modifications.
Westergaard, who had his five-year-old granddaughter staying with him, was able to hide in a panic room in his bathroom and signal the police using an inbuilt alarm button. Officers were at the house within two minutes and shot the intruder after he tried to attack them....
It's good that Mr. Westergaard had the foresight to install advanced security. It's sad that he was compelled to do so.
Which should raise questions as to why such an individual was allowed into Denmark in the first place and how many other jihadi assassins are being sheltered among the Muslim population in Denmark. It should also naturally lead to the question of whether entertaining a Muslim population in a Western state is a good idea in the first place. Until the Europeans and the Americans take seriously the issue of Muslim immigration there will be many more airline bomb attacks and cartoonist assassinations in their future.
Yes, it is a good question. Why was such a person allowed to enter the country, assuming that this person was not a citizen?

Imagine the fear that Westergaard must have felt, doubly so since he had his young granddaughter to protect too. I heard him interviewed recently and he said that every few weeks he had to move to a new secret location. Sadly, this location was somehow discovered. Thank goodness he wasn't harmed.
The fear he feels, and the danger he endures is on behalf of all of us who believe in freedom of speech, and for that we thank him sincerely.
If he wasn't so singleminded in his determination to kill an infidel he could have thought quicker and said that he was just in the Yuletide spirit and wanted to help Mr. Westergaard cut some wood for the fire.

Why should this poor man have to live like this? The only bright spot is that the Danish police took the threat so seriously and reacted so quickly.

If we look at the history, most (there are always exceptions) attacks are committed by foreigners who have been allowed to enter the country (EU or US).
The immediate response to these attacks is too simple for our leaders to grasp: a complete moratorium on all non-official travel by foreign Muslims to Western countries.

This is one of the better illustrations that the MSM is unable to elucidate the facts with sufficient precision to be of use. Kurt Westergaard's cartoons did no such thing, mild-mannered as they were. Depictions of a muslim in prayer being butt-f***ed by a dog, of Muhammad obscenely exposed and called a pedophile, and of a participant in a pig-squealing contest, none of which were the work of Mr. Westergaard but falsely attributed to either him or his publisher, were the reason for the riots.
For those who have no interest in discovering the truth, but persist in reacting to outright lies or idiotic irrelevancies, there lives will be unpleasant, meaningless and usually short.

I suppose some people think that security is best accomplished with bullet proof glass and panic rooms, but data shows that disarming a population is provocative. Despite politically correct beliefs to the contrary, in the U.S., states that have freer gun ownership laws have less gun crime. It seems the creeps of the world worry that their victims might be armed in those states. A recent study also showed a significant correlation between concealed carry permits and police officer deaths, and guess what? Higher concealed carry permit rates equaled less shooting of police.
