Over at Atlas Shrugs, Pamela Geller has an illuminating report on how Brian Williams, who helped Rifqa Bary when she fled from her Muslim parents in fear for her life after converting to Christianity, now faces arrest.
[...] According to Jamal Jivanjee, Rifqa Bary's friend and pastor, the authorities are trying to arrest Brian Williams, the man who helped her escape. If you missed my interview with Brian Williams, listen here. The impending arrest of the courageous Brian Williams is proof of the incompetence of Rifqa Bary's legal team. The silence is deference and dhimmitude to Islam. If the crime of apostasy in Islam and the threat Rifqa was facing were exposed and heard in an American court of law, Brian Williams would not be pursued by the Franklin County prosecutor. [...]
Jamal Jivanjee wrote me this:
I wanted to take a minute to give you an update on the latest situation surrounding Rifqa Bary's quest for life. According to Brian Williams, the dear friend who helped rescue Rifqa Bary on the night that she fled out of fear for her life, it is looking very likely that he will be arrested by Ohio authorities for his role in helping rescue her. This is very unfortunate because, in my opinion, he is a modern day Harriet Tubman or Corrie Ten Boom. They too risked their freedom in order to rescue those who fled for their lives. I know that I can speak for Brian when I say, if he could do it all over again, he would not hesitate. He knew then, and he knows now, that what he did was the Lord's work. Brian's courage is a breath of fresh air in a day and age when many are not able to see righteousness as clearly as Brian Williams did the night he rescued Rifqa in her hour of need.I'd like to take a few minutes to point out something that we should be very well aware of right now. We all should be asking why someone who did something that was righteous and humane at the very least, is now possibly facing arrest and criminal charges? It is a good question which I believe points to a much deeper issue at hand.
When the truth is suppressed, the innocent suffer; when truth is proclaimed, justice prevails!
At some point in Rifqa's defense, her attorneys decided that the best course of strategy was to cut deals and settle the dependency case out of court. While it may have seemed easier and less risky to settle dependency out of court by making deals with the opposition, it is clearly not playing out that way in reality. By staying away from a trial for dependency, the court and the authorities are not being made aware of the threats and injustice that Rifqa Bary faced as a result of her conversion to Jesus Christ. This has only emboldened C.A.I.R. and the pro C.A.I.R. Ohio authorities who may be playing election year politics with innocent lives. It is very clear to me that if the truth were to be told in court regarding why Rifqa had to flee for her life, it would be very clear why Brian Williams took the actions that he took. By pressuring Rifqa to admit to wrongdoing as well as making an agreement for temporary dependency out of court instead of allowing Rifqa to be awarded dependency in court because of the truth, the truth continues to be suppressed and this has clearly emboldened those who are out to attack Rifqa and those who helped her.
So why am I bringing this up?
The point of this article is not to be pessimistic or negative, nor is it to simply be a legal commentary. I am not an attorney and I do not pretend to think that the problem that we face is simply a legal problem. There is much at stake in this case, and because this is indeed a precedent setting case in this nation, C.A.I.R. has made a vested interest in silencing Rifqa and those who rescued her. The point that I am trying to make is something I believe very strongly...The courts and the world need to hear the truth about Rifqa's testimony and persecution as a result of her conversion from Islam to Christianity. One way or the other, this story must be told. This is not only true for Rifqa; it is also true for our lives as well. Romans 8:28 says: "And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." With that said, we can learn an essential truth from the unfortunate strategy that Rifqa's attorneys have employed: When the truth is suppressed, the righteous suffer; when truth is proclaimed, justice prevails. If we learn anything from this situation, let us learn that, and let us find courage and a voice for the struggles ahead.
There is much more. Read it all.

Lawyers always cut deals when they think they are not getting paid enough, unless they are with the ACLU. I wish the Alliance Defense Fund could represent her. Jesus said it best; "Woe be unto the Lawyers".
Another attorney who sees a lawasout who brings him big bucks and an district attorney who wants te gain fame. Ohio have some more weird cases.
What are they trying to do, to discourage us to help people who want to escape Islam.
The West is all srewed up when it come to this.
God forbid if you say a thing to about Islam they don't like and all hell breaks alose.
This an example of how Christianity is being punished by nowdays politicians eveyhwere.Plus how lawyers win when democrats are in power in the usa.
Those who dont like christians fall into one of these categories: Masons, leftists, islamists and gays.
All, strong lobbies in these days. All in the hands of Lucifer.
The west is in deep need of a turnover.
This is very dark and disturbing. That this man can be now prosecuted for trying to save a girl's life is beyond belief and quite unacceptable in our Christian, civilised world. Our authorities have gone truly barmy and Ohio is obviously beyond help.
OT - More outright lies from the Muslims in Nashville who (I believe) vandalized their own mosque. This article is so sickening. The Muslims are saying:
"...the core values of Islam are peace and love for others, no matter what their creed, color or status may be."
And the Infidels are buying it. The Nashville Infidels are out in droves supporting the poor "vandalized" Muslims. A group of divinity students from Vandy actually apologized to the Muslims for arriving too late to help clean the mosque. It's a wonder I'm not throwing up while writing that.
More comments on this article on the PC dhimmi "Tennessean" are appreciated, if one has the time and inclination.

Maybe Ohio "authorities" should be investigated for being sympathetic to enemies of the Constitution. Brian Williams saved Rifqa Bary's life. Of course, life, liberty, and happiness are not recognized in the sick collection of minds that are of Islam or Islamofascist empathizers.
CAIR is nothing more than a propaganday tool for Islamofascists. They should be kicked out of this country for being useful idiots of the sinister influence of Islam.
'Maybe Ohio "authorities" should be investigated for being sympathetic to enemies of the Constitution.'
I couldn't agree more.
What is especially ridiculous about this is that if Brian Williams did something so wrong, why has Rifqa not been reunited with her family? Why is she in foster care at the taxpayers' expense if everything is A-OK with mom, dad and bros? Obviously the "authorities" in Ohio believe there is some problem with reuniting them based on "something" that's happened so why is Brian Williams suddenly becoming the fall guy? Perhaps Mr. Williams should sue the state of Ohio and we could really get this circus going.
Darcy,
I just left a comment on the Tennessean site...Interesting reading...

Pastor Brian Williams is a true Christian soldier and servant of the most High God.
Today throughout America the Christian faith is under attack and this story is just one more example of the persecution of the body of Christ.
America and the world need more people such as Pastor Williams who are on the
frontlines of the war against Islamic-Fascism.
May God strengthen Pastor Williams, give him much courage and a bold spirit to speak
the truth.In Jesus name.Amen
So—threatening your own daughter's life, threatening her with a forced marriage, beating her, having a family member put out her eye, remaining in the country illegally—no legal consequences.
Helping a girl *escape* these horrors—arrest and likely prosecution.
I had wondered somewhat at the time if Brian Williams might have contacted the authorities about Rifqa's plight rather than seeing her on to Florida, but now I am convinced he did the right thing. Ohio authorities likely would have sent her right back to her parents, and she might well be dead by now.
What about the Florida family who took Rifqa in? Blake Lorenz has already been fired from his Orlando church for giving Rifqa sanctuary. The church then disbanded out of abject fear that they would be sued by Rifqa's parents.
Will Blake Lorenz and his wife Beverly be up on charges next?
It's a morally insane world, where Brian Williams and Blake Lorenz suffer, and evil men like Rifqa's father prosper.

I just read that article you linked.
The most horrifying thing of all is the 'comments' section. The vitriol and distortions are astonishing to anyone who has been following the case in detail both here and at Pam Geller's site.
I wouldn't mind betting that most if not all of the posters are Muslims in masks. If not, they are 'Christian-haters', eagerly lapping up and retailing the blatant lies that CAIR and co. (well aware of which buttons to press) started spreading about months ago.
Islam's apostasy law doesn't get a mention from anyone; yet it's the thing that completely explains *why* the pastor and his wife did what they did. The commenters heap vitriol on the Lorenzes for not revealing the girl's whereabouts straightaway...accuse them of being pedophile/seducers [good God!], lying, breaking the law, refusing to obey authority etc...If any of those commenters are non-Muslims, they forget their history: they forget that Corrie ten Boom told quite a few lies, too, and broke the [unjust] laws of the time, to save the lives of those Jews that she and her family were hiding from would-be murderers. It doesn't seem to occur to them that, just possibly, those who tried to help and hide Rifqa Bary were in a position similar to that of the ten Boom family - engaging in some level of deception, in order to keep a gravely-threatened human being ALIVE.
And not one person in those comments has grasped that Rifqa Bary had been a Christian long, long before she made contact with the Lorenzes; that she was NOT 'converted' by them but by people she already knew face-to-face, in Ohio.

"{I had wondered somewhat at the time if Brian Williams might have contacted the authorities about Rifqa's plight rather than seeing her on to Florida, but now I am convinced he did the right thing. I think the question you ask is reasonable, though I disagree with your conclusion. I suspect Brian Williams is in trouble in Ohio because me made the choice to take the law into his own hands, and possibly violated state law, instead of calling the police. He may have panicked, taking what he sincerely believed was a quick and sure way to get Rifqa to safety. But if his decision was a hasty one, one must ask why his first reaction was to help Rifqa get out of the state instead of contacting the authorities to obtain immediate help from those truly equipped to provide security for Rifqa.
If Brian Williams believed that a death threat had been made, he should have contacted the police, a.s.a.p. That's just common sense.
Some Islam critics following this case have suggested that the authorities are either (a) "dhimmis" (knowingly kowtowing to Islam) or are (b) ignorant of sharia law and Islamic customs. I don't doubt the latter, but a death threat is still a death threat, and would likely have been handled as such by the police.
excuse my typo: "...Ohio because he made the choice to take the law into his own hands..."
May God bless and protect Brian Williams. What he did may be illegal but was highly moral.
