Apparently their avowal of jihad didn't help them as much as they thought it would. An update on, and reversal of, this story. "Five American Muslims retract statement on joining Jihad," from PTI, February 2:
LAHORE: Five American Muslims arrested for allegedly plotting terror attacks in Pakistan and Afghanistan today retracted their statement about plans to join the jehad against US forces during an appearance in an anti-terrorism court.When the young men were produced in the anti-terrorism court in Sargodha district of Punjab province, they told the judge that they were innocent and had neither committed any crime nor had plans to do so.
The men--Ramy Zamzam, 22, Waqar Hussain Khan, 22, Ahmed Abdullah Minni, 20, Iman Hasan Yemer, 17 and Omar Farooq, 24 also told the court that they had been subjected to torture by the FBI and the Pakistani police.
The FBI had sent a team to Pakistan last month to question the youths. The youths slipped a note written on toilet paper to the media while leaving the court. The note read: "We have done nothing wrong. Please help us." The court adjourned the hearing of the case against them till February 16.
Earlier, police had submitted a chargesheet in the court that alleged the US nationals wanted to join hands with militants fighting in Afghanistan. The chargesheet also said they had plans to target important installations in Pakistan and to embrace 'shahadat' (martyrdom).
Senior police officials had also said that the youths had confessed that they had come to Pakistan to travel to Afghanistan to join the jehad against US forces in that country....

It was just a matter of time before they changed their tune. First, as idealistic jihadists they want to trumpet their devotion. Second, they begin to realize (under guidance I'm sure) that they will not be able to harm the infidel as self confessed jihadists in custody. Lastly, they adopt a taqiyya approach to tie up infidel resources and perhaps, in a wild stroke of luck, be acquitted of charges so they can go on to actually kill some infidels.

This is a blatant and bare-faced lie. We all know Islamic countries do NOT use infidel-invented toilet paper. They use water only when it available or 3 stones when water is not available.
As an apostate I know better than to swallow these lies that the mainstream media fall for so very easily in their haste to believe anything anti-American.

One the problems with young adults is they act before they think. Another problem with young adults is they are filled with lies from older adults that are very very clever tongues.
Jihad is no game. Not for those whom have suffered family or friends being murdered for the sake of it. The news media here in the United States has no clue, they remain ignorant when it comes to Jihad. And therefor, the news media remains part of the problem for society world-wide,....
These young and foolish adults have made a horrible choice in life. But they were coached by the, "oh so very clever" news media world-wide. Whom remain ignorant in matters of jihad, and history.
There is no doubt radical Islam believes jihad is necessary. That means all kufars must be killed, or submit to Islam. What we are not aware of, is our own news media is helping this happen, through their own ignorants of the facts (truth).
