But of course if Obama could just sit down and talk with him, they could get everything ironed out. "World Shia Leader: Destruction of Zionist Terrorist Regime, imminent," from the Ahlul Bayt News Agency, February 8 (thanks to Twostellas):
TEHRAN - Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ali Khamenei stated on Sunday that the will of God is set for an end to the oppression in the region and the defeat of the hegemonic powers.TEHRAN - World Shia Leader, Ali Khamenei stated on Sunday that the will of God is set for an end to the oppression in the region and the defeat of the hegemonic powers.
The Supreme Leader made the remarks in a meeting with Ramadan Abdullah, the secretary general of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement.
Israel is going downhill toward decline and fall and God willing its obliteration is certain, the Leader noted.
He said he was very optimistic about the future of Palestine, underlining the need for continuation of the Palestinian resistance against the expansionist policies of the Zionist regime.
"Today Palestine is the symbol of life, determination, faithfulness, diligence, and dignity," Imam Khamenei explained.
Palestinians have shown that they are spiritually more powerful than Zionists and that is why the Israeli army has not been able to defeat them despite a military superiority, he stated.
"Palestinians' faith is the main factor in their resistance," he emphasized.
The Leader went on to say that the Zionist regime, all through its 60-year-long life, has emerged as a symbol of atrocity, viciousness, and ugliness.
The Supreme Leader also praised the role of the Islamic Jihad Movement in the Palestinian politics.
The Leader added the Western governments' support for the Zionist regime is ineffective.
Iranians will defend Palatinates due to their heartfelt beliefs, he reassured.
Palatinates, eh? I am sure the Rhinelanders will be very glad to hear that.
the Palestinian resistance against the expansionist policies of the Zionist regime.
Expansionist policies? It would seem to me that it is the 'Palestinians' who have the expansionist policies...If Israel is actually destroyed, who is going to move onto those lands?
What about the Khuzistanian people? Don't the Arabs of Khuzistan deserve at least as much Iranian and world attention and sympathy as the soi-disant "Palestinian people"? The Islamic Republic of Iran should do the handsome thing, show Israel just how it's done, and give those Khuzistanian people their full independence, as Arabs who should not be forced to endure Persian domination. Oh, and make sure that independent Khuzistan retains possession of all the oil under Ahwaz as well.
That should make the Arabs all over the Gulf happy. It should make the Persians -- as haters of hypocrisy -- happy. And it should make even the Infidels happy. One less terrible injustice to worry about.
What about the Kurds? There are Kurds in Iran. But they are only "converts" and not as good Muslims as Arabs.
"I am sure the Rhinelanders will be very glad to hear that."
It is difficult to comprehend the mindset of those who dislike or hate Jews. It is also difficult but somewhat easier to understand the mindset of those who hate Zionists since we see the same kind of bigoted multicultural elitist behaviour every day right here in our own U.S.of A. As a result of this, Israel does not enjoy the kind of support in the West that they should have.
The mindset of the Islamic countries that surround Israel is simple. Big Mo hated Jews and thus the Islamic countries were natural allies of Hitler. They still retain resentment of the resettlement of Jews back to their historical land in Israel after WWII as a condition of surrender by the Axis powers.
Jew haters and anti zionists (or leftists with irrational hatred of believers) must really take great pride in their supremacist attitude and in their joy of hating people who share a faith different from that of their own. Their supremacist attitude and enjoyment of this hatred is the force behind the apparent oncoming regional war in the Mideast.
Of course it has nothing, nothing to do with Palistinians fighting from behind and under burqas against a army and country too civilized (too civilized for its own good/survival) to indiscriminately shoot back when civilians are in harms way -- even if they are civilians bred from birth to hate and destroy them.
Mmmm is this the important event which the "thug in chief" promised to happen on 11th Feb. Could it be that Iran is far more advanced in its nuclear programme than everyone believes?
The again on 11th Feb the EI leaders meet in Brussels! Personally I wouldn't miss Gordon Brown!!
Correction (really MUST get new lenses)

So Ahmedinajad managed, by this attributed verbal slip, to bring the Rhineland into it, did he? He would,no doubt, declare himself a great admirer of Emicho of Leiningen (who preferred to do his killing, of the usual victims, in the Palatinate, the Rhineland, and never did make it to the Holy Land), if only he, Ahmedinejad, had heard of him. In other words, his slip is showing.
"Destruction of Israel is imminent." The Koran tells the Muslims to terrorize the infidels. That's what they are doing. Would they warn us if they were actually going to attack? I doubt it.
From the article: "the Zionist regime, all through its 60-year-long life, has emerged as a symbol of atrocity, viciousness, and ugliness."
Boilerplate Islamic projection.
As a description of Israel it's a perfect description of Khomeinist Islamic Iran.
Let's see what happens if we make the appropriate substitutions:
"The Islamic Republic of Iran, ever since its inception in 1979, has emerged as a symbol of atrocity, viciousness and ugliness".
Yup. Bang on the nail.
I just came across *another* very similar piece of Muslim projection to add to the ever-growing collection of examples.
In this article in the J Post
http://www.jpost.com/IranianThreat/News/Article.aspx?id=168134
the headline runs, "Israel's a mad state led by mad people'.
In the text, we encounter a report of the words of the Iranian Muslim Foreign Minister, Motaki:
'Israel is “a crazy nation led by crazy people,” Iranian Foreign Minister Manoucher Mottaki told Al Jazeera in an interview published Monday afternoon.'
100 % Projection. Look in the mirror, Mr Mottaki.
"A crazy nation led by crazy people".
Yeah, right. I'd say that's an excellent description of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Now, back to the article posted by Mr Spencer. The complete inversion of reality, for anyone who knows anything at all about the behaviour of the local Arab Muslims in and around Israel, is astonishing:
"Today Palestine is the symbol of life, determination, faithfulness, diligence, and dignity," Imam Khamenei explained.'
Let's think about the achievements of those wonderful 'Palestinians'. Murder-'martyrs' by the dozen. The sadistic murder of helpless, pregnant Tali Hatuel and her four little daughters. The young unarmed scholars gunned down on top of their Torah and Talmud volumes in the Mercaz Harav yeshiva. The tearing apart with bare hands, of two unarmed Jewish soldiers, and the display of bloody body parts, to ecstatic Muslim howlings. Samir Kuntar, lauded to the skies by the Arab Muslim world, for what? for his cowardly murder of an unarmed Jewish father in front of that man's little daughter, whom the murderer then also killed, by smashing her head with a rock. 'Honor' murders galore. Harassment, murder, rape, robbery and extortion of local Arabised Christians, most notably the murder of Christian bookshop-owner Rami Ayyad in Gaza. Forced veiling of women. Graft and corruption and an ever-flowing fount of nonsense and lies.
Hmm. Let's run that statement through a translator, to invert the terms. We get 'symbol of murderousness, faithlessness, brainwashed fanaticism and grandiose delusion'. Now *that* works as a description of the 'Palestinian' Arab Muslims.
Meanwhile, as far as I am concerned, it is *Israel* that really *is* a symbol of life, determination, faithfulness, diligence and dignity.
