Note to Baghdad: Saying you're concerned, or saying you're doing something won't count as actually doing something. An update on this story. "Iraqi Christians protest over killing," from BBC News, March 1:
Hundreds of Iraqi Christians have taken part in protests calling for government action after a spate of killings.
At least eight Christians have been killed in the past two weeks in the volatile northern city of Mosul.
The killings prompted an appeal by Pope Benedict on Sunday for Iraqi authorities to protect vulnerable religious minorities.
The UN says more than 680 Christian families have fled Mosul since the recent attacks.
Sunday's protests took place in the town of Hamdaniyah, 35km (22 miles) east of Mosul, and also in the capital, Baghdad.
Marchers in Hamdaniyah, many carrying olive branches, were led by priests including the second-most-senior Chaldean bishop, Shlemon Warduni.
"The government has done nothing so far," he said, calling on the US, UN and EU to "defend the rights of Christians in Mosul".
They most likely won't, for fear of appearing "Islamophobic."
"They most likely won't, for fear of appearing "Islamophobic."
Incredible. How has the West come to this? How has the West descended so far into sheer idiocy?
Anyone have an explanation?
This is a huge understatement, considering the Chaldean Christians were there first.
Doesn't the bishop realize that there are more important things for our military to do in Iraq, such as hand out candy to future jihadists and rebuild their military operations centers, uh, mosques?
Just a note ... I found out through a friend in Jacksonville, Florida that Lutheran Social Services has quite a few Iraqi Christian families that they are helping to re-settle in that city. My friend is a long time volunteer for the agency.
The Iraqis are Roman Catholic believers.
I know our family will be sending a donation this week to be used to help these families.
For some strange reason whenever I hear a report like this about the tribulations of the Christians in Iraq I always think back to an article by the former Ambassador to Croatia, Peter Galbraith – son of the famous economist - who reported in an article:
A year after his “Axis of Evil” speech before the U.S. Congress, President Bush met with three Iraqi Americans, one of whom became postwar Iraq’s first representative to the United States. The three described what they thought would be the political situation after the fall of Saddam Hussein. During their conversation with the President, Galbraith claims, it became apparent to them that Bush was unfamiliar with the distinction between Sunnis and Shiites.
Galbraith reports that the three of them spent some time explaining to Bush that there are two different sects in Islam--to which the President allegedly responded, “I thought the Iraqis were Muslims!”
I fear that with ignorant dolts and ignoramuses like Bush in charge of every elective junta in the western world we have no chance at all of avoiding the transformation of every currently civilised nation into some kind of murderous, dysfunctional Lebanon during the coming century.
IN the frst place I have trouble believing ANYTHING Peter Galbraith said because he is a demoncrat!
George W. Bush and his family are long time friends of the Saudis and their royal family and I am sure they know a lot about islam.
I am more concerned about THAT friendship than what a man with a "mission" to discredit the GOP and Bush, has ever said.
Funny how Obama spent millions of the taxpayers money to import "Palestinians" from Gaza in to the US, but the Christians in muslim lands are left to die at the hands of barbarians.

Any one of these things, in and of themselves does not really matter. But.... when you add them up one by one you get a phenomenal score that points to the fact that Obama is determined to make America over into a Marxist/Socialist society. All of the items in the preceding paragraphs have been put into place. All can be documented very easily. Before you disavow this, do an internet search. The last paragraph alone is not yet cast in stone. You and I will write that paragraph. Will it read as above or will it be a happier ending for most of America ? Personally, I like happy endings.
Never before in the history of America have we been confronted with problems so huge that the very existence of our country is in jeopardy. Our biggest enemy is our President and a contingent of politicians in Washington DC .
Obama is a liar and Truth is
killing his Marxist agenda. I really, really like Truth.
Radicals are teaching in all our Colleges. The Conservative student speaks and is shouted down by all around them. They dare not argue with the "teacher" for fear of flunking.
Add to this the disease of Political Correctness and you get stupidity.
