A well-placed source made these telling observations about Obama's appointment of a special envoy to the Organization of the Islamic Conference. A transcript of Obama's actual remarks is here, and here is more from the special envoy himself, Rashad Hussein. The source noted:
Both Obama and Rashad Hussein refer to "thousands" of townhalls and meetings held around the world, where the US apparently "listened" to Muslims. Can we get a list of these? How much did they cost? Who did the talking? What was the agenda?Is there any other religion they've had "thousands" of townhalls and meetings with, or are they only listening to Muslims? How about the Coptic and Iraqi Christians being slaughtered -- any listening going on with the authorities there?

And of course they're listening to Muslims at these "thousands" of townhall meetings because Muslims cultivate an air of aggrieved righteousness. It never seems to occur to the governing establishment types that righteous anger may not actually indicate a just cause at all, but may merely be a cleverly deployed instrument of manipulation.
Perhaps one reason why Christians don't get this administrations townhalls and attention is that Americans are an optimistic people who believe that your worst enemy can be charmed into becoming your best friend.
Further, many of the key supporters of the Obama administration believe that Christians are a sinister force in American politics. They'd dearly love to be arresting pro-life advocates and opponents of gay marriage rather than having to prevent the struggle against al-Qaeda from turning into a full-fledged inter-civilizational war (a thing which too many in the Islamic world seem to want).
Perhaps, if we dressed up as Muslims we could get into these town hall meetings and discuss health care.
Why would anyone think that Muslims would tell the truth? Why would anyone believe Obama bin Barry? Thousands of meetings? Did they get that number from the same liar who said 300 terrorists were given civilian trials?

Chris Wallace interviewed Obama's National Security Adviser today on FOXnews. Gen. Jones' performance was nothing short of pathetic. Among his many evasions and intellectual gymnastics, he actually opined that it was a "mystery" why Iran continues to defy the international community over its nuclear program.

The numerous townhall meetings could be US Ambassadors trying to find common ground with leaders in Middle Eastern and Islamic countries. This effort is reminiscent of the move to enlist Arab and Muslim scholars into the Middle Eastern Studies Programs after the condemnation of those departments' "orientalist bias" by Edward Said. It eventually led to the almost complete collapse of American scholarship on Middle Eastern studies, as was documented in Marin Kramer's book, "Ivory Towers on Sand - The Failure of Middle Eastern Studies in America." The measure of the failure was that new scholarship in Middle Eastern studies lost all credibility because the scholars' theories were unable to predict future events. The Obama Administrations tone deafness to any possibility that Islam is involved in the world's troubles will lead to the same kind of failure we saw in academia's Middle Eastern Studies, but the consequences will be much more devastating.

That's it, exactly. It's not that Hussein is necessarily ignoring Christians--all Americans are unworthy of his words, let alone his regard. This is true, no doubt, even of American Muslims, who might be Americans first.

I think, however, that the final remark needs to be expanded a little.

In mentioning Buddhists, I have in mind in particular the Chinese Buddhists of Malaysia and Indonesia and the Chakma Buddhist tribes of Bangladesh, as well as the Buddhist residents of Southern Thailand who are under constant murderous assault from Muslim jihadists who intend to re-take the region (which Thailand took in defensive warfare after having been attacked by a jihad-minded Malay Muslim sultan ) for the Empire of Islam.

Obviously he didn't mean any town hall meetings in the U.S., except perhaps Muslim only gatherings since the subject of Islam isn't even allowed to be raised in American town hall meetings.
So that leaves foreign "meetings." The only way the number could be in the thousands is if he includes routine low level communications between Americans and locals in whatever country we happen to have officals. Further, in order to qualify as our "listening" in the sense that it is conveyed in his statement, such meetings would have to be conducted under the rules of communication issed from the White House requiring our guys to meekly sit and listen to the usual laundry list of whines and complaints, while making no attempt to correct false or improper accusations. I wonder how many people at State are making plans for early retirement?
One might say that the Obama administration's disdain for the lessons of history is nothing short of amazing, however considering their Leftist leanings it should be no surprise. From the beginning of his running for the presidency, Mr. Obama and his backers have done their best to obfuscate history, whether it be personal, Democrat Party, or Islamic/European history.
Look at how successful Obama's handlers were in preventing the connecting of the dots of Obama's Muslim and socialist/communist past ties and associations starting with his mother. Look at how liberal academia has ignored the history of Islamic aggression in Europe including the real causes of WWI which led to WWII. When and where did the Roman Empire finally fall? Why did Columbus, a Jew, sail west? Where and with whom was America's first conflict after the Revolution? Why was Archduke Ferdinand assassinated? Who did the Muslims side with in both world wars? What is Islam's view of tolerance and Dhimmitude? What of Dal al-Islam?
Why did Mr. Obama hold his first television interview with Muslims, deny we were a Christian despite most Americans identifying themselves as Christians, bow to a Muslim potentate, and later say we were one of the largest Muslim nations in the world despite less tha five percent of us identifying ourselves as Muslim? Did we elect a Muslim leader thus making ourselves a Muslim, albeit apostate, nation?
To the liberals, Islamic apologists, Quislings, and Chamberlains these are all impertinent and irrelevant questions to be slapped down. But unless you want to buy a prayer rug and learn the direction of Mecca they're vital to your very survival.
Well said, Robert. I think more and more people are starting to learn about those very things you mention above, due in no small part to sites like this. The education has not yet been sufficient enough to bring pressure on Obama to cause him to alter his suicidal course. But that's what elections are for. We can begin the process of neutralizing Obama by removing his power base in Congress this coming November, and making him the lamest duck president, without any congressional support, that has ever existed. He can then be removed in the 2012 presidential election. What's not clear is how much damage will have been done by then that will have to be undone.

Calling meeting with foreign Muslims "townhalls"—with their overtones of grassroots American democracy—would be disturbing at the best of times.
Doing so at a time when Obama has been avoiding *actual* townhall meetings with his own American constituents could not be more grotesque.
