Islam left swordless in Russia

"An FSB spokesman said Shaaban, who went by the name of Seif Islam (the sword of Islam), had seen action in Afghanistan in the 1990s, and 'was also in Sudan, Somali, Libya and Georgia.'" Indicating once again the international and unitary character of the global jihad.

"Russian police kill al-Qaeda's 'sword of Islam,'" from RIA Novosti, February 3 (thanks to Sr. Soph):

A militant shot dead by police in the south Russian republic of Dagestan was one of the co-founders of al-Qaeda in the North Caucasus, a security service spokesman said on Wednesday.

Egyptian national Mohamad Shaaban, 49, was killed during a shootout with police in the tiny republic's mountainous Botlikhsky District on Tuesday. A Dagestani militant and a police officer also died.

An FSB spokesman said Shaaban, who went by the name of Seif Islam (the sword of Islam), had seen action in Afghanistan in the 1990s, and "was also in Sudan, Somali, Libya and Georgia."

"In 1992, he arrived in Chechnya to take part in operations against federal forces," the spokesman said, adding that Shaaban had organized the North Caucasus branch of al-Qaeda with Saudi-born Islamic radical Ibn Al-Khattab....

It's Pechorin country, Dagestan, but this unedifying tale, the brief and unhappy life of Seif Islam, has little, as far as content goes --despite the Caucasus as the setting for both -- with the novel by Lermontov. It's not even clear, given how uninteresting Seif Islam was (as fanatics always are), that his tale could bear the weight of an echoing title: "An Anti-Hero Of Our Time."

Hoisted on his own petard!

Swords are passe. How come no one is called the "Gun of Islam" or the "Bomb of Islam"?

Decapitation will ALWAYS be the execution of choice for the muhammadan myrmidons.

I have rule of thumb:

Never go to any country or region that ends in "-stan".

I don't know........... in Afghanistan, the Taliban would execute women, by firing an AK-47 into their burqa-clad bodies. No decapitation for the muslimahs. It might reveal their faces!

Haram!

Kafiristan, circa 1880, before it un-kaffirized, sounds okay with me.

Hugh - Kaffiristan pre-1980's, while its stunningly beautiful lasses married as many men as they could afford and everyone still quietly worshipped their ancestors and elder women while wearing the lightest of Islamic veils to keep indolent local mullahs happy, was a wonderful place, indeed, as were many of the Sufi/Malang/post-Buddhist/Turkic-animist enclaves hidden in the remote Hindu Kush and Pamir. Part of the tragedy of Afghanistan (and the whole recrudescence of foul Islamic expansionism) is that such private, magic places have been opened up and forced to submit completely to alien 'values' in order to survive, that the embers of religions that trace back to the dawn of civiilized consciousness (I do not exaggerate)have been extinguished as the Islamic dog cocks its leg yet again.

Yeah, I know you were joking about the name. But I lived there awhile, and weep for the place and the time. I suppose you already know that the infection even names the landscape round there - 'Hindu Kush' translates as 'Hindu Killer'.....

From the article:"Egyptian national Mohamad Shaaban"... "An FSB spokesman said Shaaban, who went by the name of Seif Islam (the sword of Islam), had seen action in Afghanistan in the 1990s, and "was also in Sudan, Somali[a], Libya and Georgia."

"In 1992, he arrived in Chechnya...".

Now, let me see. A Muslim (presumably Arab Muslim), born in Egypt; he wages Jihad in Afghanistan, Sudan, Somalia, Libya, Georgia [which is a majority-nonMuslim secular state]; and finally meets his comeuppance (good riddance to bad rubbish!) in...Chechnya.

The Compleat Globe-Trotting Jihadist, eager to perform human sacrifices to the arab war-god allah anywhere he gets the opportunity.

"I've been everywhere, man, I've been everywhere...".

Question: how much would it slow the Jihad down, if *all* non-Muslim long-distance transport providers (boat, plane, train) adamantly refused, citing perfectly rational and well-founded security reasons, to permit Muslims on board?
