A NOBEL prize-winning author has accused England of being a "cesspit" that nurtures Islamist terrorism, in a damning indictment of Labour's failed multicultural experiment.Wole Soyinka, the first African winner of the literature prize, claimed the Nigerian student who tried to blow up a jet over Detroit on Christmas Day, was radicalised during his time at University College London. The criticism comes amid a growing row between Nigeria, Britain and Yemen about where Umar Farouq Abdulmutallab turned to violent extremism.
Hillary Clinton, the US Secretary of State, said last week that "ideology knows no boundaries" and the blame for Abdulmutallab's extremism could not be "pinned on any one place".
But Mr Soyinka, 76, who was born in Nigeria and studied at Leeds University in the 1950s, said: "England is a cesspit. England is the breeding ground of fundamentalist Muslims.

This Nobel Prize winner seems to have his hat on straight. When will our Nobel prize winner do the same?
Just last night I was complaining -- not rancorously but humorouosly, I allow myself to believe -- to Ibn Warraq, that he could state certain home truths about Islam, and about the importance of defending the West and its accomplishments, and be taken more seriously, treated more respectfully, by commentators than, say, I would be, saying the same things -- because I was not born in present-day Pakistan (Ibn Warraq) or Syria (Wafa Sultan) or Somalia (Ayaan Hirsi Ali) or Iran (Ali Sina) but was rather, what one might call a homegrown anti-terrorist, with vaguely off-white skin to boot. And this, I said, was unfair, and I wasn't having it. But of course, I don't have a choice in the matter.
And no doubt there are those Englsh men and women in England who have said the same thing, or implied the same thing, as Wole Soyinka has just so intelligently and boldly said. But we all know why his statement will not be quite so easily overlooked or mocked or denied by the apollgosts and defenders and propogandists of Islam, not at the BBC, not in the pages of The Guardian, not anywhere at all, because now a black Nigerian has told the truth.
And thank god for that. What will they call him? A "post-colonial stooge"? I don't think that will fly.
They've met their match, even the BBC with its barbar-pletts and orla-guerins and lyse-doucets and john-simpsons, and Rusbridger's Guardian, have met their match, and then some.

Nobelist Soyinka is undoubtedly right about England being a cesspit of Islamic radicalism, but surely it's not the only one. Moslems create these cesspits wherever they exist in large numbers, whether in Moslem countries like Somalia, Yemen, or Pakistan; or in Moslem enclaves in Western countries, like the no-go zones in France, Belgium, and the U.K. Abdulmutallab may have been radicalized at University College London, but others have been radicalized at the madrassas of Pakistan and the training camps of Yemen and Somalia.

Yes, America now nurtures hate & violence soapboxes for 'certain' religious groups including the intolerant & despicable southern 'Baptist' church whose members rail against American Military Heroes who have given their lives in defense of freedom, atheists who attack other's Supreme beliefs, nazi's, communists, anarchists, survivalists, & the Aryan nation, to mention a few. Little, if any action is taken against their reprehensible messages.
However, the US government has been paving the road to stomping the right of free speech for the rest of us under the guise of Anti-Hate Laws. Previously mainstream religions have lost the ability to preach against the misdeeds of society. They have done so traditionally for centuries, professing their cherished religious tenets. Lawyers around the country are readying or have already brought actions against the US government for stifling the religious freedoms of countless pastors & congregants alike. We ARE a Christian nation, contrary to the anti-American statement by our idiot-in-chief.
The American public-at-large is also under attack, for we must now all be careful not to offend those who we are at odds with who teach radical beliefs & dangerous ideologies, such as Islam itself. The MSM still prints the protests of CAIR even after they have admitted recently in a court of law that they don't exist!

This is one of the worst results of modern liberalism, a very stupid kind of open-mindedness, which old-fashion liberalism, let alone conservatism, had nothing to do with. Excellent points from Wole Soyinka. Britain has been, foolishly, letting itself be used as a safe haven for the bloodiest-minded Jihadists since at least the 1970s.
The only bone I have to pick with Mr. Soyinka regards this statement (cited in the Guardian article, linked by Hermit):
"The Nation of Islam (NOI) has created a mainstream institution in the US and provides an antidote to fundamentalism."
Wole Soyinka is clearly more aware of the situation in Britain than in the US. The Nation of Islam, while not considered orthodox Islam, nonetheless has all the same ugly aspects of "the religion of peace".
The Nation of Islam is virulently anti-Semitic, misogynist, violent, and intolerant. It advocates death for its apostates, and has carried out these murders—most infamously with the slaying of Malcolm X.
NOI offshoot Your Black Muslim Bakery in Oakland, California, has been involved in kidnapping, extortion, polygamy, the organized rape and impregnation of under-aged girls, torture, killing of Infidels, killing of apostates, and murder of those who attempted to investigate them, including journalist Chauncey Bailey, who was shot down on an Oakland street after publishing a series of articles exposing the bakery's crimes.
The Nation of Islam is no "antidote to fundamentalism"—it is itself "fundamentalist" Islam in every way that counts.
This Nobel Prize Winner - not itself a guarantee of sense - was born in Nigeria and studied in England. Presumably he would cry racism if England excluded his fellow Nigerians from its universities. Yet it is the unrestricted, indiscriminate admission of third world immigrants that has caused many of the problems in the "cesspit" in which he was happy to be educated.
If you come from Nigeria, where rape victims are stoned to death, your comments on a civilised country should be taken with a pinch of salt. Or the more so if you support a primitive, backward, anti-Semitic movement like the Nation of Islam.
