Obama names special envoy to the Organization of the Islamic Conference, the chief enemy of free speech in the world today

Of course, Obama has already shown that the OIC's war against free speech doesn't particularly bother him. "Obama Names Envoy to Islamic Group," from Reuters, February 13:

DOHA, Feb 13 (Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama said on Saturday he was naming a special envoy to a top Islamic body to further Washington's cooperation with the Muslim world.

Obama told a U.S.-Islamic World Forum in the Qatari capital Doha in a recorded video message that he was naming White House official Rashad Hussain as special envoy to the 56-member Organisation of the Islamic Conference.

"As an accomplished lawyer and a close and trusted member of my White House staff, Rashad has played a key role in developing the partnerships I called for in Cairo," Obama said....

"Since then, my administration has made a sustained effort to listen. We've held thousands of events and town halls ...in the United States and around the world ... And I look forward to continuing the dialogue during my visit to Indonesia next month," Obama said.

Obama told Muslims in his June 4 speech in Cairo that violent extremists had exploited tensions between Muslims and the West and that Islam was not part of the problem.

His speech was welcomed by many Muslims, though some said they wanted him to spell out specific actions to resolve long-running problems like the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

"And as a hafiz of the Koran, (Hussain) is a respected member of the American Muslim community, and I thank him for carrying forward this important work," Obama said in his message to the Doha meeting, using the term for someone who has mastered and memorised the Muslim holy book....

You'd think the fact that supporters of the Islamic regime in Iran were burning him in effigy just this week might make the President question whether such attempts to listen are worthwhile...Of course, the Christmas Day terrorist incident, Ft. Hood, etc. should have done that already.

Now Obamahdi is President of the United Dhimmi States.

Exactly the wrong way to go. What should be done is to tell the Islamic world to police itself or else.

"His speech was welcomed by many Muslims, though some said they wanted him to spell out specific actions to resolve long-running problems like the Palestinian-Israeli conflict."

(from the camp of Islam) ...It has has nothing to with Islam Mr President, but what are you going to do about those Jews?....Can you help us out, Buddy...(no mention of the Palestinian contributions to the violence)

Obama's is a very very sick dude with a 'father thing' from his absent Muslim father and is acting out his personal 'issues' on the world stage. And as for his 'mom':
http://fotograf.gazetevatan.com/fotogaleri/resim.asp?kat=6181&page_number=2

Obama's failure so far to grasp the nature of Islam as an ideology, a Total Belief-System, is different in its sources than was his predecessor's failure to grasp the nature of Islam. In Bush's case, it was his dreamy belief that if something is called a "religion" it is entitled to immedidate respect. He himself had been saved from alcoholism by being born-again,and he assumes -- and he's not alone -- on the theory of fifty-million-Frenchmen-can't-be-wrong, that if Islam counts a billion adherents, it must be okay. Wafa Sultan, Ibn Warraq, Ali Sina, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Magdi Allam, and many tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of other apostates do not beg to differ, but demand to be allowed the right to differ, and differ they do, publicly and asrticulately, and Barack Obama and others "taking a leadership role" ought to meet their responsibilities to be well-prepared.

As for Rashad Hussain, he's got all the right degrees, and that is very soothing for a group who believe deeply in those degrees, especially the degree from Harvard in Arab and Islamic studies, followed by a Yale Law degree. On the C.V., Rashad Hussain, like those who have favored him, hasn't missed a trick. But of course by now we all know that these names mean far less than they once did, that a degree even from the "best schools" is no guarantee of having been educated, and that like light from a dead star that still arrives long after the source has been extinguished, some of these schools, in some departments, are living on reputations acquired but not yet lost, and only the most vigilant will know what institution, or what department within that institution, or what individuals within that department, still merit respect and the "prestige" that too often is still accorded -- not least by parents and students driven mad by the whole business of college admissions, and being so desperately, comically grateful and proud if their child gets into one of those schools that "will make all the difference." They've lost sight of what education is, and perhaps, as Jacques Barzun says, the greatage of American higher education -- not to be confused with vocational training, which is a different thing -- is over.

The Arabic and Islamic Studies program at Harvard has a lot to answer for. A decade ago, it forced a very good native speaker of Arabic, a Lebanese, and a Maronite, to leave the graduate program because he wished to write his thesis -- a brilliant one -- on the subject of Arab Muslim linguistic imperialism. The Arabic and Islamic program includes a law school post, the Guardians of the Two Noble Sanctuaries Professor, or Adjunct Professor, of Islamic Law, that is -- a chair well-upholstered with Saudi money. When a half-dozen years ago, Ibn Warraq came to speak on campus, he had to be sponsored by the local Humanist Society when he came to Cambridge, for the Arabic and Islamic studies people shunned him. In the fall of 2001, one of those one thought might be counted on to tell the truth, Professor Roy Mottahedeh, published a Op/Ed for the Times that likened the Crusades, limited in time and space, to the permanent duty of Jihad (that Op/Ed had Bernard Lewis' head shaking at the disgrace of it). The "finest flower" of that department may well be Noah "After Jihad" Feldman (now busily trying to cover with sand his previous tracks as a "Muslim expert" -- because the nonsense he wrote in such books as "After Jihad" is now too obviously seen, even by those once too diffident to have, much less express, an opinion about Islam, as absurd, and his protector and friend John Esposito seen, too, as a Saudi hireling. Just as some of those who once hailed Chairman Mao and the Cultural Revolution have managed to obscure that part of their past and re-fashion themselves in order to get plum academic positions (see, e.g., Orville Schell and his views on China, and how he became dean of the School of Journalism at Berkeley). Feldman -- has been re-making himself, not very convincingly, I'm afraid, as a Constitional Law expert, hoping that few will remember what it was he wrote about Islam that got him his job, and his promotion, at Harvard Law School in the first place.

Rashad Hussain sounds to me like a Muslim Noah "After Jihad" Feldman. Same resume that will apply to those who are impressed with that sort of thing and can't quite see beyond, can't distinguish those who are educated and quick from those who, like Feldman, so miss the point, in their desire to rise in the world, and can't stop. don't dare, to think for themselves. Just as Feldman's shtick was "the Orthodox Jew who became a great expert on Islam" so Rashad Hussein may be fashioning a career, with a little help from his Washington friends, as the Harvard-and-Yale educated Muslim-American who was our "First Envoy to the O.I.C." Watch his career trajectory and see if it doesn't resemble that of Noah Feldman. Good for him, tragic for us.

And as a hafiz of the Koran, (Hussain) is a respected member of the American Muslim community...
-- Prez Barack Hussein Osama praising Rashad Hussain

What? Being respected by Moslems is like being slithered by a pit of vipers. Two wrongs don't make a right, even under the auspices of a born-Moslem president.

*** 8:12 ***

As an accomplished lawyer...

And just what is that? One who makes lotsa dough, maybe. Or one who wins lotsa cases. But the only thing the slithery Hussain has accomplished was to get a master's degree in Islam from Harvard and a law degree from Yale.

Now that's significant, having dozens of well funded adoring Infidels push you through not one but two Pedigree Puppy Mills. What is it about people from Prestige Diploma Mills that makes them so expert at selling out the freedom of others? Woof.

Maybe the accomplished hafiz Mr. Hussain was able to interpret this:

I shall terrorize the infidels. So wound their bodies and incapacitate them because they oppose Allah and Mohammed.
-- Allah holding forth with great clarity on the Islam program

'Town halls," "listening," and "opening a dialogue"

That is what in ObamaWorld passes for a foreign policy.

There is no sign in the biography of this man that he is an "accomplished lawyer" unless by "accomplished lawyer" one means someone who graduates from Yale Law School, which as even they themselves recognize, is a ticket to something, but not because its graduates are well-versed in how to practice law. He is in the lowest rank of the Counsel to the President's Office, a deputy associate or something, and hardly out of lawyer's swaddling clothes. But then, this is the age of the Extravagant Letter of Reference ("best student I ever had in 28 years of teaching" is the kind of thing that now makes eyes glaze over), which goes with Grade Inflation. Now we have Job and Experience Inflation.

The practice is spreading, right to the top. There have to be some limits.

You can't sink any lower than to be Islam's Uncle Tom. Is this what 'I have a dream' has come to?

It is very disheartening for me to once again be reminded of the true change Barry “Husain” has brought to America.
Obama states "And as a hafiz of the Koran, (Hussain) is a respected member of the American Muslim community, and I thank him for carrying forward this important work,"
Obama is honoring his selected employee for being a hafiz!!! (a master of the Koran) and he praises his important work!. What is Obama “praising” mastery of the Koran, or the Koran itself and what is exactly the important work for a devout master of the koran ,a beleiver of the Koran,is it to defeat or defend the Koran, take a good guess.

Excuse my rephrasing,
What is Obama “praising” is it mastery of the Koran, or the Koran itself and what is exactly the important work for a devout master of the koran ,a muslim,is it to defeat or defend the islam, take a good guess.

does this hafiz, and lawyer, think that there is anything of value regarding the Bill of Rights worth defending?

Has it occurred to anyone that Barry knows exactly what he is doing?
It's orchestrated, coordinated, and destructive.
Virtually every decision made by Barry has been the worst possible one for the moment at hand.
We must make BHO a half term president.

There is a muslimmedianetwork.com profile of Rashad Hussain at http://muslimmedianetwork.com/mmn/?p=3599 . The profile reads, in part:

"Elected to Phi Beta Kappa, he holds bachelor’s degrees with highest distinction in both philosophy and political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, which he completed in two years.

"He received highest honors for his philosophy thesis, “Assessing the Theistic Implications of Big Bang Cosmological Theory.” Hussain also holds an MA from Harvard University in Near Eastern languages and civilizations. He finds his heritage central to his identity as a Muslim American and his career goals, especially in light of events in recent history."

As with other Muslim posters here, Rashad Hussain appears to be sympathetic to the idea that the Qur'an has something meaningful to say about cosmological matters. With this, alone, he will be welcomed with open arms in the IOC.

But the last sentence above, "He finds his heritage central to his identity as a Muslim American and his career goals, especially in light of events in recent history" [emphasis mine] tells us all we need to know about this guy's psychological make up. Such a statement would have disqualified him from any important position were the religion and culture he so proudly wears on his sleeve Christian and European.

He certainly has touched all the formal academic bases, with credentials so highly respected by the Left. Just as with Obama, they will be so dazzled by his CV that they will not bother to inquire about whether there is any substance in the man.

Rashad Hussain has obviously been identified as a rising star, and since he is a young guy, we should probaly expect to hearing more from him in the future. He's also a smart guy.

I shudder to think of this man representing the U.S. in the OIC. This means that the OIC will, effectively, have an inside man in the White House, working to advance their agenda with the blessing of the POTUS. Rashad Hussain is no doubt a smart man, in a formal sense, but that also makes him potentially dangerous.

November is only nine months away. Be sure to plan to VOTE.

Be it noted that a "hafiz" (Arabic for "guardian") is one who has memorized the Qur'an in its entirety and is thus entitled to recite it in mosques during, for instance, Ramadan.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hafiz_(Qur'an)

This means, of course, that Rashad Hussain is thoroughly familiar with all the verses we have come to know and loathe, such as 9:5, 9:29, 9:111, 3:28, 8:12, etc. etc. ad nauseam -- to wit, all the ones that call for our intimidation, slaughter and subjugation. And it is this that that creature in the White House considers a fine qualification for being an American liaison to the Muslim world.

Forever listening but never hearing....

If the Osama administration has been listening how come it has not heard the following core ideal of Islam:

Turn to Islam else be killed by moslems or pay Jizra to moslems?

One is very confused here: is the adminsitratio deceiving the moslems with platitudes or deceiving itself for fear of the implications of the pedophile mohammed's teachings?

Be it noted that a "hafiz" (Arabic for "guardian") is one who has memorized the Qur'an in its entirety -- Papa Whiskey

Thanks for bringing this to our attention - I had completely missed the significance of that tidbit in Obama's remark. The man has memorized the entire Qur'an! Presumably this was in some madrassa in India when he was a child, and it would be interesting to learn the background of this - where he went to school, what masjid he and his family were members of, what was his father's profession (perchance an imam?), and why, exactly, did he come to the U.S.?

No doubt Obama is intimidated by this hafiz's "accomplishment" and I can imagine him apologizing for not having done the same when he was in Indonesia.

BTW, does anyone know if Obama has selected a church yet to attend in Washington, D.C.?

"Assessing the Theistic Implications of Big Bang Cosmological Theory."

This is the kind of thing that drives cosmologists and physicists wild, unless of course they are those not out for a Unified Field Theory but rather for that Reconciliation of Science and Theology -- i.e., are angling for the Templeton Prize.

Now comes a senior thesis which will possibly manage (I don't know, I haven't read it) to do what No One Has Done before, even reconcile Islam with Modern Cosmology, or as crazily creative Muslims often do, find that all of Modern Cosmology, indeed all of Modern Science, is already implicit in the Qur'an, and only requires just a little tweak of the text, a little teasing out, here and there, for it to become clear to the veriest scoffer.

People who are not trained physicists (you, I, Barack Obama), but take a miscomprehended phrase that they pick up, and apply, wrongly -- a favorite is Heisenberg's "Uncertainty Principle" -- and then go off on tangents or topics of their own, all the while impervious to criticism because of their deep certainty that things just aren't more complicated than that, that they've got just as much right to talk about the "Big Bang Theory" as anyone at all, as Dennis Sciama or or George Gamow or Steven Weinberg or Steven Hawking or Vitaly Ginzburg, and by the way, did you know that in the Qur'an you can find the most piercing discussion of the anisotropy in the black-belt radiation as a result of our peculiar velocity? No, you are a non-Muslim, so of course you didn’t. But it’s right there, in the Sura of the Cow. And so is string theory, and so is all of elementary particle phsyics, and the DNA helix, 1400 years before Watson and Crick, and little RNA too, and all the neuroscience you could possibly want, all the myseteries of the brain, right there, in the Qur’an. And if you are a hafiz, like Rashad Hussain, and if you have memorized the entire Qur’an, you know just what it is, how it contains A Guide To All The Mysteries. It’s MIT, its Caltech, it’s the Max Planck Institute and the Cavendish Lab and the Lebedev Institute and all of them, rolled into one. But silly non-Muslims just won’t or don’t or can’t believe it. We know better.

If Rashad Hussain is not in the same intellectual and moral class with Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Wafa Sultan, and Ibn Warraq, or with Mithal al-Alusi either, if he, a "hafiz," that is someone who has not merely read but memorized all of the Qur'an (think of what that must do to the memorizing brain in question, and therefore knows exactly what it says about what Islam inculcates about Infidels, then there is something disturbing about him that no degrees from Yale or Harvard can extinguish. But you would only know that if you had read yourself, and re-read in order to grasp, the Qur'an, the main “authentic” Hadith, and the Sira, with appropriate commentary. I wrote “read and re-read.” I didn't write that you would have to memorize the whole thing. You don't have to be a "hafiz." That’s the kind of thing you can safely leave to the rashad-hussains of this world.

You can read the whole transcript and see his video address to "the 7th U.S.-Islamic World Forum meeting in Doha, Qatar," at the White House blog.

From another article on the topic:

"I'm proud to announce today that I am appointing my special envoy to the OIC Rashad Hussain," said Obama, who opened his message with the Muslim greeting of "Assalaamu Alaykum" (peace be with you).
...................

There's that greeting again—one which is only supposed to be offered by one Muslim to other Muslims.

But Obama was not the first to appoint an envoy to the OIC—George Bush formally named the first US envoy to the OIC in February 2008, appointing Texas entrepreneur Sada Cumber.

more:

"Since then, my administration has made a sustained effort to listen. We've held thousands of events and town halls ...in the United States and around the world ... And I look forward to continuing the dialogue during my visit to Indonesia next month," Obama said.
...................

Obama seems to believe that "listening"—to our own citizens, to allies, to random nations around the world, to our *implacable enemies*—is somehow all of a piece.

Finally, here are some disturbing elements from Rashad Hussain's agenda (from the Brookings Institution):

"Reformulating the Battle of Ideas: Understanding the Role of Islam in Counterterrorism Policy" by Rashad Hussain and Al-Husein N. Madhany.

As the National Commission on the September 11, 2001 Terrorist Attacks emphasized, significant progress against terrorism cannot be achieved exclusively through the use of military force. This paper argues that in order to win the “battle of ideas,” the United States government must carefully reformulate its strategy and work with the Muslim world to promote mainstream Islam over terrorist ideology. The global effort to end terrorism must be more effective in utilizing its strongest ally: Islam. There is nothing more persuasive to Muslims than Islam... [true that—GI]

First, rather than characterizing counterterrorism efforts as “freedom and democracy versus terrorist ideology,” policymakers should instead frame the battle of ideas as a conflict between terrorist elements in the Muslim world and Islam. [don't emphasize freedom and democracy—that might alienate good Muslims—GI]

Second, policymakers should reject the use of language that provides a religious legitimization of terrorism such as “Islamic terrorism” and “Islamic extremist.” They should replace such terminology with more specific and descriptive terms such as “Al-Qaeda terrorism.” [obfuscate the real nature of Islamic Jihad as much as possible—GI]

Third, the United States should seek to build a broad and diverse coalition of partners, not limited to those who advocate Western-style democracy, and avoid creating a dichotomy between freedom and Islamic society. Such a coalition should incorporate those who may have political differences, so long as they reject terrorism... [who cares if Muslims want to destroy democracy and squelch freedom, as long as they use stealth Jihad to accomplish their aims?—GI]

Seventh, recognizing the benefit of strengthening the authoritative voices of mainstream Islam, the United States should welcome and encourage the further development of mainstream Muslim organizations and moderate institutions. [what could possibly be more beneficial to the United States than spreading Islam?—GI]

Finally, the United States should continue to promote effective economic and social reforms and to work with allies in crafting fair and peaceful resolutions to conflicts in the Middle East and in other parts of the Muslim world, as these conflicts are often the preeminent grievances fueling extremist violence. [a call for the United States to offer more and more "economic aid" (Jizya) to Muslim countries, and to bully Israel into weakness and destruction]

Rashad Hussain seems to be a classic stealth Jihadist.

I'm picturing in my mind what John Adams and Thomas Jefferson would do to Obama if they got their hands on him.

Cheers me up a bit.

"I'm picturing in my mind what John Adams and Thomas Jefferson would do to Obama if they got their hands on him.

Hussein is an enemy of our Judeo-Christian civilization. He's a Muslim and wants nothing more than to see America become Islamic. The sooner we are rid of him in 2012, the better.

For the good of my country, I'm tempted to utter some words of Henry 11, but I'll refrain.

Freedom of Speech against barbaric Islam.

Exactly so.

Obama pretty much already has, Eastview—when he noted with chagrin that he was always getting in trouble for "goofing off" in Qur'an class when he was a kid.

I have never lived in a time when I thought of our POTUS as anything less than a defender of our country--agree with him or not--that is, until now. What an embarrassment he is! This guy wants to kiss ass--the wrong one-- when he should be kicking it. Is he just stupidly idealistic? Cowardly? Insidious? Everything he does regarding the islamic threat is 180-degrees opposite of what sensible people see must be done. Think the bad guys don't see this? They must be pinching themselves to know they have the supposed leader of the free world as their ally--even against his own people! But then, perhaps President Hussein doesn't consider Americans his own people?

"For the good of my country, I'm tempted to utter some words of Henry 11, but I'll refrain." -- darcy

You expect us to just sit here in silence after you've dangled this bait? C'mon, what is it???!!!

Posted this on a different blog, but kind of applies here also:

President Obama may have good intentions, but in this age of polical correctness, he is confused and at best, either intentionally ignoring the issue, or trying to sell out America. The Islamic threat to our nation is a present and real danger. If his representative points out the dangers of Muslim immigration to our nation, the threat from a religion that seeks domination over our society, and an admittance that Muslims do not assimilate, in our country or in Europe, then he may have a real chance at some effective communication, in what the American position should be to represent such a conference. Our country, our nation of people, our beliefs founded in the constitution, do not need to be displayed in an apologetic manner to this group of nations. What will probably happen by this administration, is that our President will try to bow down once more at the alter of Islamic submission, to convince them that we are worthy of their proclaimed hatred and distaste for America, our beliefs, and our way of life.

Dear Hugh, couldn't agree more. I'm not a physicist, but a theoretical chemist, during my studies I did a few exercises in theoretical physics as well. There is no religion on this planet that is as hostile to science as Islam. Nothing whatsoever in the world of modern physics, quantum mechanics, string theory, m-theory is implicit in the Qur'an. I have no idea why there are still morons asserting that sort of rubbish. If Galilei had lived in a Muslim country he would have been killed because of the results of his research, no doubt about that. As Robert put it out so well in his book "The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam", Allah killed science. According to Muslims' ideas science denies Allah's freedom. That's why there have never been any great Muslim inventions or discoveries.

As for Obama he does deserve the prize "American Dhimmi of the year 2009". I don't know why he's an apologist, to the best of my knowledge his Muslim father became an atheist. "But there are more things between heaven and earth than are dreamt of in your philosophy, Horatio."

We should kill all them muslims. They all hate us and they all want to kill us. Isn't that right, FOX News?

From article...Since then, my administration has made a sustained effort to listen. We've held thousands of events and town halls ...in the United States and around the world...

Thousands? Thousands?? Around the world?...Really...I had no idea...thousands huh...How many thousands was that exactly?
And what countries did you say you held these events and 'town halls'?...Yemen maybe? Pakistan? How about Saudi Arabia...I hear they are big on town hall meetings...
'Thousands'...all at taxpayer expense...I hope you listened well, maybe you could pass on what you heard...Somehow I don't think we are getting our money's worth...

"Half-fizz" -- sounds like a description of a bottle of soda-water.

Take your hate somewhere else.

"Nothing whatsoever in the world of modern physics, quantum mechanics, string theory, m-theory is implicit in the Qur'an."

I beg to differ. I'm not a theoretical physicist, either, but I know some who are. One of the biggest problems in modern cosmology is the "missing mass" of the universe. According to present theory, there is not enough mass in the universe to account for the universe being held together in its present form. So there must be some other form of matter (= energy), so far invisible and undetected, present. Research institutes everywhere, from CERN on down, are scrambling to discover and describe this missing mass, which is generally called "dark matter" (and/or its equivalent "dark energy"). Well, Islam is about the darkest matter I know of, and it's absolutely seething with dark energy. Not for nothing is Islam's main idol at Mecca referred to as "the Black Stone". Q.E.D.

I believe, Eastview, that darcy is referring to Henry II (1154-1189) saying out loud something like, "Won't someone rid me of this nuisance." The "nuisance" was his former friend, now enemy, Thomas a Beckett, who, since being made Archbishop of Canterbury, had become a staunch defender of Church privileges, such as separate ecclesiastical courts not connected with Common Law judicial proceedings. This annoyed the hell out of Henry and some of his retainers thought (wrongly most think) that Henry wanted Beckett killed. Well, that's what happened, and in church no less while Beckett was saying Mass. Henry paid dearly for this because to get back into the good graces of the Church he had to do all kinds of humiliating things, penance of all sorts like being flogged by monks. If I'm right here you can see why darcy was hesitant to spell things out.

For myself, I hope Obama lasts one term but only one term. He will serve as a test case for a long time to come respecting how a President should not act in order to preserve America's best interests.

FP, you are closer to being right than you know, Fox News or no...

(OIC) Organization of Islamic Conference, one word in this name never escapes me, and that word is Islam and that word represents 56 countries---But wait a minute, isn't Islam a religion? If Islam is a religion then whatever happened to America's first Amendment to the US Constitution? Whatever happen to separation of church and state that groups like the ACLU are so adamant about separating from political and public institutions? --Yep I'm just asking --why is our President sending political envoys to interact with Religious bodies?----Are Catholic groups representing several nations as does the Islamic Religion, do we have political envoys and ambassadors representing our Government with Catholics?

Don't we need an Organization of Non-Islamic countries to counter OIC's Islamism? Yes, we do. Pronto!

I was a dedicated supporter of Obama in 2008, but won't be in 2012. Where you guys screwed the pooch in 2008 was to go around calling him a Muslim. Obama isn't a Muslim. In my perception, he is more of an atheist than a Muslim or a Christian. However, it is becoming increasingly clear that he is a deep sympathizer of Islamism. Obama needed to be pinned down on his Islamic/Islamist sympathies, instead of being called a Muslim. The latter failed to gain traction because it was too far separated from reality.

If you want to displace Obama in 2012, don't push dumb nitwits like Palin, but look around for an intelligent GOP candidate that would be a good President for the US in addition to opposing Islamic fundamentalism and its clever sibling of Islamism as they need to be.

Le Monde considers the story important enough to carry on-line:

lol, sorry, but I can't.

Thanks for giving me a chuckle, though - I needed one.

Oh, bugger off.

Brava Israel! The only civilized country in the Middle East. Keep defending yourselves from the mass-murdering Jew-hating Islamic Barbarians.

Whaaat?!

Just that you supported Hussein in '08 shows you're not too bright.

Next, "screwed the pooch?" What in the heck does that mean? Can you speak English? Just how crude are you?

In addition, LOTS of JW's did NOT call Hussein a Muslim, so you're wrong.

I always did, however, and it turns out I'm right. Hussein is definitely a Mohammedan. The "reality" is that Hussein is a Muslim.

Furthermore, Sarah Palin is certainly not a "dumb nitwit." In fact, if anyone is, that's you. You're a dumb nitwit. You like that?

I agree that Israel is by far the most civilized country in the ME, a really bad site of oil and terror. I just think Palestine should have full independence.

Actually, Mackie, we do. We have ambassadorial status with Vatican City, though pursuant to the 1929 Lateran Treaty it is officially an independent state, even though it is composed of only some 109 acres, making it the smallest country in the world.

What is "Hiterlian?"

You've used that word twice in your insults to Hugh. What is it?

Also, you guys need to figure out how to make the case about the perils of Islamic fundamentalism to progressives and Democrats (which can be done, because the facts needed for doing so do exist in plenty; they just need to be articulated and presented in a rational, logical and non-hateful manner) for your message to register firmly on the American electoral landscape.

"Half-fizz" -- sounds like a description of a bottle of soda-water.

To reply to myself, I might add that his other half is "ass".

lol! Thanks for all the advice!

Actually, it's not needed.

RS and his colleagues are doing just fine articulating their message, thank you.

I have some disagreements with Hugh Fitzgerald, for instance concerning man-made global warming and the soundness of the policy of President Bush going into Iraq in 2003, but to refer to him as "Hitlerian" is a cheap shot of the most egregious kind which insures that no respect should be shown your way. There is nothing about Hugh which smacks of fascism. The very fact that he posts here at JW and never has wanted to shut down those who disagree with him is partial testimony of this. If you're going to call someone Hitlerian, you must provide evidence that such a person does not want a free press, free elections, a multi-party system and the right of the electorate to criticize the government without fear of reprisal. Do you have any evidence that this is what Hugh Fitzgerald desires? No, of course you don't.

You've got to be a modern liberal because the modern Left has these eight or nine code words like "racist," "bigot," "sexist," "homophobe," "Islamophobe" and "Nazi" to shut off the exchange of ideas. How simple it is to call someone a hater and leave it at that. It's cheap, it's pathetic, it's a hallmark of the Modern Left and you could serve as a poster boy for disgusting nonsense of this sort. You are actually unwittingly contributing to the ending of free speech by your characterizations of Hugh, though I highly doubt you will comprehend this. Done here.

America can't go around waging wars costing trillion dollars a pop like the Iraq war and in the process drive its economy into the ground. For that, among other reasons, a Democrat that opposed the war needed to win in 2008. Obama seemed more genuine than Hillary (and didn't then show his Islamist leanings), and so he was the logical choice to make.

Sarah Palin doesn't know jack about anything. We must always want to have a high functional IQ president to be the leader of America and of the free world. Surely the GOP has some that have the brain power for the job. No?

Oops, ebonystone you got me. I must have been completely mistaken.

"Well, Islam is about the darkest matter I know of, and it's absolutely seething with dark energy."

Indeed Islam is the darkest matter ever heard of, but what about the victory of mind over matter?

Is Obama truly a christian? I remember hearing Collin Powell saying that Obama was christian...............But I have yet to hear him the words 'Lord Jesus'...Obama can however say many things in arabic relating to Islam......The muslim percentage in this country is not even 1%....So what was that on his inauguration speech about the U.S not being ONLY a christian nation.........Uhmmmm muslim population in the U.S is not even 1% ..............

Obama is very smart and everything he does has a purpose.

In the most canonical hadith collection, Sahih Bukhari, Muhammad said, "I have been ordered to fight the people till they say: 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah.' And if they say so, pray like our prayers, face our Qibla and slaughter as we slaughter, then their blood and property will be sacred to us and we will not interfere with them except legally and their reckoning will be with Allah."

In other words, if you are not a Muslim, Muhammad says your blood and property will not be safe from Muslims.

Also in Sahih Bukhari, Muhammad said, "Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him."

And Muhammad supports that in a number of core Islamic texts. That's why all the schools of Islamic law even today prescribe the death penalty for Muslims who abandon Islam.

Qur'an Chapter 8, Verse 12
When your Lord revealed to the angels: I am with you, therefore make firm those who believe. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them.

So, you think Barack has a high IQ? What about his 57 states comment? How about his stupidly saying just two weeks ago that KSM would be convicted in an ordinary criminal justice trial (his inept Press Secretary, Gibbs, said the same thing and further opined that KSM would be executed), thus tainting the entire trial before it begins?

Remember Obama calling the actions of the Cambridge, Masachusetts police department last summer as evidentiary of people "acting stupidly," this being said before Obama had all the facts (that's why he had to have that "make-up" photo-op at the White House with Biden, the policeman, Gates and himself all drinking a beer-----ah, how sweet). And what of the Anointed One shutting down Gitmo two days into his Presidency without having ANY backup plan respecting what to do with all the Gitmo detainees? Ditto for his stupidly shutting down the CIA interrogation program.

What of that extremely erroneous and craving Cairo Speech he gave last June, in which he made numerous historical misstatements (e.g., that the Muslim world invented the magnetic compass when, in fact, it was developed in China, or the ridiculous claim that Islam is a tolerant religion, this being said at al-Azhar University where he spoke where Christians are not allowed to matriculate)? Care to respond to how BO articulated the word "corpsmen", both in October of last year and just last week. Higher IQ? Yeah, right. The guy couldn't even say "Nittany Lions" correctly. He called them the "Nittaly Lions." And what about his confusing Veterans Day with Memorial Day back in May of 2008 to a collection of stunned veterans in New Mexico? But it's Sarah Palin who has the IQ problem, even though she would cover your back in a dark alley far better that BO would and she kills her own food, which I'm sure BO has never done nor would know how to. Gettin' my point?

Insufferable snobbery masquerading as sapience by the Left is a feature of modern times. You're a case in point.

A poster above has employed the word "Hitlerian." In the context of Islam, there are plenty of scenes that come to mind as positively Hitlerian. There is Ahmadinejad addressing the Pasdaran. There are the mass rallies of Hezbollah in the suburbs of Beirut. There are similar rallies of Hamas, on a smaller scale, in Gaza. The sentiments, the martial might, the expressions of race-hatred, the invocation of mass death -- all this is what I think merits the epithet "Hitlerian." Neither I, nor any of the contributors to this website, can remotely be called Hitlerian, when we try to bring to the attention of a wider public what the texts and tenets of Islam inculcate, the ways in which Believers demonstrate that the inculcation has been scarily successful, and other aspects of Islam, including the way in which it encourages the habit of mental submission that helps to explain how Islam stunts mental and moral growth, that need to be firmly grasped. And the point of the grasping is not to encourage warfare, invasions of countries in order to bring them "freedom" and "prosperity," but to suggest a far better way is to let them stew in their own juices, while demonstrating that we, at least, know what Islam is all about, and that furthermore, we understand -- this is important for the 80% of the world's Muslims who are not Arab -- all the ways that Islam has been and always will be a vehicle for Arab supremacism. Finally, rather than try to save Muslim countries from their lords of misrule, and try to save them from economic paralysis, and social desarroi, and moral and intellectual stasis or worse, we should adopt, more or less, as much as possible, a let-them-stew-in-their-own-juices-and-be-forced-to-figure-out all the ways that Islam explains their political, economic, social, moral, and intellectual failures. Which it does. And which we must become well aware of, so as not to enter into any more follies such as that in Iraq, or Afghanistan, or Pakistan.

EASTVIEW: "November is only nine months away. Be sure to plan to VOTE."

I'm voting straight Republican (as usual) for every race...not because I have any great affinity for the GOP, but I know the lessor of two evils when I see it.

NaDe, I agree with you that the GOP is presently lacking a candidate that has all of the qualities we would wish to see in a leader. But I have to respond to your negative comment about Palin, which evinces the standard Left-jerk response that has become tiresome.

I live in Alaska and have watched Sarah's rise from being a "Hocky mom" to where she is today. Being in academia, I, too, focused on her relative unsophistication and lack of gold standard academic credentials that are so highly prized by many.

I was not a supporter of her when she was Alaska governor, but when I listened to her VP acceptance speech I suddenly found myself crying, much to my surprise, and I think she had the same effect on many other people, too. It has taken me some time to sort out these conflicting emotions, but I finally did and am now an enthusiatic supporter of Sarah Palin. Let me tell you why.

The attributes required of a good political leader for success are not necessarily the same as for success in the professional world. In the professional world success goes to those who are disciplined, intelligent, and capable of mastering volumes of detailed, sometimes abstract, material. Sarah clearly would not be a success in this world. But political leadership requires other qualities that are of little currency in the professional world, and it is in these areas where Sarah's strengths are to be found.

First, she is an authentic person - what you see is what she is. She speaks from the heart, without guile, without the cynicism or biting wit that some equate with cleveness and intelligence, about matters that are universal and affect everyone at the personal level.

Second, she is a devoted mother whose family life is on display for the whole world to see. Many family-oriented people are delighted, or rather, ecstatic, to see someone who values the family stand up and fearlessly defend it as the bedrock foundation of society that it is.

Third, she has a religious background. This by itself is enough to condemn her in a large segment of society, but there is an even larger segment who understand this background and welcome her as someone who will represent their interests. When it comes to what her position might be on Islam, her name is "Sarah," the namesake of the real wife of Abraham, mother of Isaac, and who drove Hagar the slavewoman and her son Ishmael out when Ishmael became abusive to Isaac. You can be sure that Sarah Palin knows this story by heart and isn't swayed by any touchy-feely nonsense equating the three "Abrahamic faiths." She's a staunch supporter of Israel, not only because Jesus was a Jew, but mostly because she recognizes that Israel stands as a bulwark again Islamic expansionism that threatens the Western world.

Fourth, in terms of what kinds of political coins she might have that are valuable, Sarah has that rare, ineffable quality that politicians would kill for, but very few have. She touched my heart and made me cry, and probably millions of others who listened to her that night in Minneapolis. And the ability to do that, probably more than any other quality, will win more votes than any number of academic degrees, or however many languages she might speak or countries she might have visited, or lectures delivered with Oxfordian dry wit. In fact, it is her very orthogonality to all of these that resonates so strongly with a conservative base tired of cleverness, tired of sleaze, and suspicious that our current president is less than whole heartedly committed to serving American interests, as opposed to pursuing some absract cultural vision that has no real projection on America except perhaps in his mind.

I travel a lot, and I can't tell you many casual encounters I have had with perfect strangers who, upon learning that I'm from Alaska, fairly eagerly pounce on me to tell them about Sarah. Not all of them like her, but many, most in fact, LOVE that woman. Do you suppose Newt Gingerich or Hillary Clinton generate that kind of devotion? I'm sure it fairly kills them that they don't, but that's the whole point. She does. It's a quality that money can't buy.

I have my doubts about how well she would perform in public office, or on the international stage, but in terms of being able to provide hope to a dispirited majority who feel their political leaders have lost touch with them, or worse, sold them out, a long time ago, she is unparalled. I see her as providing backbone to the conservative majority in this country who are hungry for someone who understands them and speaks their language, and will help build the movement that elects new faces into office. These are the reasons I respect Sarah Palin, and why now give her my complete and whole-hearted support.

You betcha!

Barack Hussien Obama is no more a Christian than Osama Bin Laden is.

In fact, Obama may very well be what the Bible refers to in the following passage :

Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

Wellington, please allow me to join in piling onto NaDe about his fatuous remark smearing Palin on account of her supposed lack of "high functioning IQ" in apparent contrast to Obama.

If measured on the Stanford-Binet scale, I have no doubt that Obama would rank higher than Palin. NaDe is parroting the standard Leftist smear that Palin's IQ doesn't even reach the level of necessity, let along sufficiency, to be president. Although heretical in the circles that NaDe moves, I would dispute that the kind of IQ he means is of any help at all, beyond a certain level. In fact, one could argue that too much IQ could in fact be detrimental to good leadership, since the higher up the scale one moves the further removed one becomes from the masses one purports to represent. Thus, the high IQ needed to be a good mathematician or string theorist is of essentially no value whatsoever to a politician. This was more or less Palin's message at the Tea Party convention when she said that America needed a Commander in Chief, not a college professor standing in front of a lectern. We see what a mess the "geniuses" Obama has surrounded himself are making of things. It was the same with MacNamara's whiz kids and Vietnam.

IQ is only one axis in the space of qualities that define a person. Another one that is arguably much more important for a politician is the ability to gain and hold the trust of the American people and to be able to demonstrate that America's interests are being advanced. Another one, maybe the one most important, is to the ability to inspire confidence that he/she can defend and protect the United States and its citizens. I would maintain whatever Obama's projection on the IQ-axis might be, the projections on the other axes are pretty close to null.

"... what about the victory of mind over matter?"

good point, epistemology. But considering the quality of the minds running things in Washington these days, we'll be lucky to fight to a draw.

Eastview - if you're a resident of Alaska, then I'd advise you (and AlaskanInfidel) to make it your first priority to try to get Sarah Palin educated about Islam - about jihad and sharia.

Send her Rosemary Sookhdeo's little book, 'Secrets Behind the Burqa'. It's written at a level and in a language she could comprehend - as is, also, Rosemary's other book, 'Stepping Into the Shadows', which is includes some pretty scarey real-life stories of Western women who converted to Islam (usually seduced into it by a Mohammedan male) and then found out what it was all about, and got the hell out. Rosemary doesn't just relate the stories, she supplies Islamosavvy analysis of why things happened as they did. Rosemary Sookhdeo is the New Zealand-born wife of Canon Patrick Sookhdeo, ex-Muslim, author of 'Global Jihad' and 'Faith, Power and Territory' (books that sit happily on my bookshelf alongside Mr Spencer's).

I wouldn't expect Sarah to be able to plough through Rosemary's husband's massive and massively-documented scholarly tomes; but Serge Trifkovic's nice paperback 'Sword of the Prophet' or Mr Spencer's 'Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam and the Crusades', both of which convey the flat, plain truth about Islam in an approachable fashion, would surely work - my younger brother and his wife, both only educated to Year 12 (i.e. final grade of high school) at a state high school in a small country town, had absolutely no difficulty understanding 'PIG to Islam and the Crusades'...and boy, did it put the wind up them! They are now distinctly Islamoleery.

Other books that would probably be at Ms Palin's level, nice and easy to read and not too long, but rock-solid as to facts, would be Nonie Darwish's book about sharia 'Cruel and Usual Punishment' (the whole first part is a no-punches-pulled discussion of what it's like to be a Muslim female inside the hell on earth that sharia creates, with lots of info about the ruinous effects of polygyny, etc. - total debunking of Islam's spurious claims to be a religion that promotes modesty and 'family values'; the second half deals with JIHAD) and Hannah Shah's "The Imam's Daughter". Both expose, uncompromisingly, the rampant abuse of women and children that is both permitted and prescribed by mainstream Islamic sharia.

How did Joseph Schacht sum it up? - "The Islamic attitude to unbelievers is the law of war: they must be either converted, or subjugated, or killed". If Sarah Palin can be got to understand that, really understand that, then that would be a huge step in the right direction.

It's not all that complicated. Any non-Muslim country assailed by Jihad must 1. refuse to admit Muslim infiltrators - no more Muslim immigration! 2. disbelieve, categorically, whatever Muslim spokesmen of any sort say, unless it is open threats of Jihad violence (send Sarah a copy of Raymond Ibrahim's Middle East Quarterly article about taqiyya), 3. come down like the hammers of G-d whenever Muslims attack but do. not. remain. in Muslim lands nor attempt 'nation building' as stable civil societies *cannot* be constructed out of populations addled by sharia 4. DO NOT make 'treaties' with Muslims, or enter into futile 'peace processes'...see Treaty of Hudaybiyya to understand why. 5. NEVER side with Muslims against a non-Muslim party who is being attacked by Muslims 6. never give official 'aid' of any kind to a Muslim entity (if Christian NGOs wish to undertake charitable work within a Muslim country they must be told that they do it at their own risk).

I think a 'hockey mom' would be quite capable of giving the relevant orders...

Could someone please explain who this moron James Randal is and, if he thinks he is so clever, why he can't spell Hitlerian?

I would have thought as an Islamic apologist he would have been exposed to the word on a regular basis.

"Also, you guys need to figure out how to make the case about the perils of Islamic fundamentalism to progressives and Democrats"

The progressives and Democrats are the apologists for, the sympathizers with and the enablers of Islamic-Fascism.

Thing to do is to vote them out of office!

Piling on, Eastview, for the reason you stated above is most welcome. You know, there are so many different types of intelligence. IQ tests measure only standard intellectual capacity (which is not to be despised to be sure but neither should it be the be all and end all). But these same tests tell us nothing about moral intelligence (often called character), common sense, toughness (another type of intelligence I would argue) and street smarts, all of which are important to a successful leader.

And as you already stated, there seems to be an inverse proportionality, though not always, for those with a standard high IQ and the other types of intelligence I mentioned above. But, of course, this has never stopped "intelligence snobs" from denigrating those possessed of high amounts of non-easily measurable kinds of intelligence, like common sense and moral intelligence, with those who have standard high intelligence to a significant degree (BTW, I am by no means certain that Obama has a high IQ; my guess is that it is not above 130, which is the minimum to be considered "gifted" in most states for public school purposes; the gift of gab is often mistaken for a high IQ and I sense this is the case with Obama).

Actually, I would contend that ordinarily the higher a person's conventional intellect, the more likely it is that they will be paralyzed by their own thought, not something you want in a leader. By all means, have high IQ types advising heads of state but be wary of them being heads of state. This, of course, will be lost on all the snobs out there who think Obama is infinitely better to lead this nation than Palin, never mind, as I mentioned before, that she would cover your back far better than Obama ever would. And that's a type of intelligence which is life-saving and not just good for a sound bite.

And as for Bush, our previous President, I have virtually zero doubt that in the realms of moral intelligence, toughness and common sense (and yes, possibly IQ too) he beats our current President by a mile, though I fear this will not be realized for some time, and thus at least until such time Napoleon's cynical assessment that history is a pack of lies agreed upon will prevail where a comparison between Bush and Obama is concerned.

Wellington, I agree.

It does not take a particularly high IQ to get out of the way and let people get one with their lives.

Obama will go down as the worst US President in history.

I presume that those on here claiming Obama's high IQ canprovide the evidential proof of their claims i.e. School and College records which show his brilliance or even the results of an IQ test that he has taken. Oh sorry I forgot all Obama's historical records are HIDDEN at the cost of millions of dollars in Lawyers fees so these claims must just be SUPPOSITION as anyone who cannot talk coherently without a Teleprompter is clearly not possesed of a high IQ as even WITH a Teleprompter he does not know the different between a Corps and a Corpse. Also Mr Free Palestine please tell us why you think the Mohammedan Arab INVADERS AKA Palestinians should have INDEPENDENCE ?? Firstly there is not and NEVER has been a Country or State called Palestine so it cannot be occupied and therefore cannot be made'INDEPENDENT' secondly the Mohammedan ARAB invaders ALREADY have TWO States in what was the Mandate of Palestine SYRIA and JORDAN. So please tell us why they should have a THIRD State and why you believe that that State should in part be carved out of ISRAEL and ISRAEL alone. Israel which has less than 25% of what was the original Mandate of Palestine while the Mohammedan ARAB invaders already have over 75%.

Obama has exceptional linguistic skills developed over an entire lifetime of reading and studing.
His mother taught him to be a master test taker. Palin in a debate would match his skills and probaly devour him to pieces.
The relationship between scholastic score averages and later success in especially creative and technical fields has been demonstrated to be inversely proportional.
B people acomplish more than A people.
In a game of trivial pursuit involving , History, Law and Government, on account of memory and not reasoning my guess is that obama would soundly beat Palin, but then again, he would also beat Bill Gates, and most rocket scientists.
In a contest to see who can made the best desion to solve any number of problems abstract or not, Barry without the tele prompter's help would be left knotted in confussion.
But even so IQ's do not win presidencies.
Interestingly where intelligence has most relevavance is in the fact that the demographic in which obama dominated was in the low 50% group of IQ's, those below 100 points
The group at play is the group with the lower.
By definition 50% of people have an IQ of 100 and less. This is the group that votes more on instinct and less on reason. This is also the group which voted for obama in the majority. Some IQ is need ed to figure this out.

"ARAB invaders ALREADY have TWO States in what was the Mandate of Palestine SYRIA and JORDAN. So please tell us why they should have a THIRD State and why you believe that that State should in part be carved out of ISRAEL and ISRAEL alone. Israel which has less than 25% of what was the original Mandate of Palestine while the Mohammedan ARAB invaders already have over 75%." -- Realist

Excellent point!!! The only thing I would question is your 25% and 75% figures. My impression (and that's all it is) is that Israel actually constitutes much less that 25% of the original Mandate, maybe more like 5%, which makes your point even more forcefully.

Fitzgerald is about as "Hitlerian" as Geert Wilders.

But is Fitzgerald a warmist? (or is it Warmonista?) I don't believe it until I see him confirming it personally. I also don't believe that he and the Goracle have anything in common.

As for Obumblers IQ, I believe I am not the only one who has serious doubts about affirmative action title mills who are complicit in sealing his records.

My figures come from looking at the make up of what was the Ottoman Mandate of Palestine taken from the Ottoman Empire at the end of WW1 and jointly administered by France and UK . The French started the rot by creating SYRIA and the British followed the French stupidity with Trans Jordan which originally included what is now called the West Bank. Interesting to note that when the JORDANIANS occupied the West Bank no 'so called Palestinians' attacked them or called on the UN for independence. The Sinai was also part of the Mandate but that now has been occupied seemingly without Palestinian protest too by EGYPT.

BTW still waiting for PROOF of the Obamanations IQ assumption just does not cut it.

Hi Sheik Pragmatist here.

To prove my previous point , if you link up to the 2008 election result I'm posting you'll see that amongst males obama got 49% of the vote and Mccain got 48%, adiiference of 1%.
If you the see that in the demographic of 18-29 year olds obama got 66% and Mccain only got 32%. A ifference of 33%.
In the group of lowest IQ (IQ increses with age) obama dominates.
In short , the American Idol, ET , Opra watchiing crowd elected him. This my dear friends is the challange.

http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/results/president/

Oh be forwarned, RE: cnn link , please be prepared to puke if Amnpour pops up in the background for one of their ad's.

"He received highest honors for his philosophy thesis, “Assessing the Theistic Implications of Big Bang Cosmological Theory.”

Theistic meaning aside, any Theory is only that to use, until another bit of information is discovered, information that may render the stated theory incorrect.

Check out what the Hubble Telescope has discovered about the "Big Bang", a theory that may very well, in a word, suck.

I have trouble with lawyers in position of leadership. The training is to win cases of law, and this seams to slow the needed abilitys of leadership, like shooting from the hip. Doing what one feels is the proper path without looking over every option, with cause and effect.

Palin is a good choice in a hunt, a way of life that trains on being sure of the target, quickly. May she be wisely considered if the option is there for this country.

Greetings, Realist!

Always enjoy your posts.

As for McCain: he is not, (and never was) presidential material.

McCain is a Socialist who muddles the waters of the Republican party, just as clueless as GWB, a misguided follower where a leader is needed, (what's needed is a constitutional fundamentalist) McCain is also oblivious to the doctrine of Islam. He is way too old, without charisma, without appeal, and he also refused to fight the O-bastard by calling him a Muslim and a Black Power grievance monger, which would have given him an edge. When Palin came on the scene, McCain was cooked.

Looks to me like Palin will be the next POTUS. But will she take on Islam? I doubt it.

I have no problem with the appointment of an ambassador to the OIC. It's useful to find out what the opposition is up to. However, my choice would have been Alan Dershowitz.

Perhaps, as one of his first actions, the ambassador could start by drawing the attention of the non-Muslim world to the Islamic supremacist objectives of the OIC.

The Charter is riddled with references to helping the Ummah achieve its Islamic objectives but nothing about allowing any non-Muslim state any freedom whatsoever.

I remain convinced that Obama is a Muslim and has a hidden (or not so very hidden any longer) agenda for the US and the Western world in general. After all as Commander in Chief he has just warned the Talebans that we were coming in our latest 'offensive', therefore giving them time to hide their weapons and disappear for a while. As for his IQ, how did he (and Michele for that matter) gain entries to prestigious universities? Was positive discrimination a factor here? We need to know, but I'm convinced we probably never will.

I don't know about Obama's I.Q., but I know he would score abysmally on my standardized P.I.Q. (Politically Incorrect Quotient).

James Randall's anxietas ad Hitlerem (it's certainly nowhere close to being an actual argumentum) is in fact all-common in our time, and has an internal logic: If we criticize Islam too much, and by extension if we notice too closely and rigorously our inability to distinguish the moderate from the dangerous Muslim, then we will have no choice -- that is, if we want to do something concrete about the problem -- but to begin enacting -- as soon, that is, as we are politically able when Putsch comes to shove -- laws and policies that, at best, will have the appearance of collectively mistreating an Ethnic People (or a rainbow of Ethnic Peoples) and, at worst (so fears the anxietas), will inexorably go down that horrible slippery slope of lynching, rounding up, putting in camps, and exterminating them.

We may protest all we want that it is Islam and the Muslims who support Islam who are the real "Hitlerians" here; but to those formed (or deformed) that anxietas -- and unfortunately, they still seem to be the majority in the West --, all such protestations represent Orwellian cover for our more or less ulterior racist and fascist designs.

Slight correction:

"...but to those formed (or deformed) by that anxietas..."

Fascinating debate, what is the religion of peace? Islam or Christianity? Jay Smith takes on the muslims on Hyde Park, Speaker’s Corner in London, every Sunday.

http://www.avraidire.eu/2010/02/jay-smith-on-speakers-corner-hyde-park-debating-with-muslims/

This article on http://www.theobamafile.com/ObamaLatest.htm confirms what I with my knowledge of Indonesia have always said about the Obamanation not only is he not eligible by BIRTH to be President but his adoption, CITIZENSHIP and MUSLIM worship and subsequent LIES about his time in Indonesia further refute whatever tenuous claim he has for NATURAL BORN STATUS in the USA. FYI he HIMSELF confirms in his ???? book 'DREAMS' that he was 'chastised by the Teacher for pulling faces in KORANIC STUDIES' as subject ONLY Muslims take. He was ALSO registered as MUSLIM in the Catholic MULTI FAITH school that he also attended.

ObamaCrimes.com reports that at the time Barry Soetoro was in Indonesia, all Indonesian students were required to carry government identity cards or Karty Tanda Pendudaks, as well as family card identification called a Kartu Keluarga. The Kartu Keluarga is a family card which bears the legal names and citizenship status of all family members.

Soetoro/Obama was registered in a public school as an Indonesian citizen by the name of Barry Soetoro and his father was listed as Lolo Soetoro, M.A. Indonesia did not allow foreign students to attend their public schools in the late 1960’s or 1970’s, and any time a child was registered for a public school, the child’s name and citizenship status were verified through the Indonesian Government. See Constitution of Republic of Indonesia (Undang-Undang Dasar Republik Indonesia 1945), Chapter 13, Law No. 62 of 1958 (all citizens of Indonesia have a right to education). The Indonesian school record, indicates that Soetoro/Obama’s name is "Barry Soetoro;" his nationality is "Indonesia" and his father "Lolo Soetoro, M.A. There was no way for Soetoro/Obama to have attended school in Jakarta, Indonesia legally unless he was an Indonesian citizen, as Indonesia was under tight rule and was a Police State. See Constitution of Republic of Indonesia (Undang-Undang Dasar Republik Indonesia 1945), Law No. 62 of 1958. These facts indicate that Obama/Soetoro was/is an Indonesian citizen, and therefore he is not eligible to be President of the United States.

Under Indonesian law, when a male acknowledges a child as his son, it deems the son, in this case Soetoro/Obama, an Indonesian State citizen. See Constitution of Republic of Indonesia, Law No. 62 of 1958 concerning Immigration Affairs and Indonesian Civil Code (Kitab Undang-undang Hukum Perdata) (KUHPer) (Burgerlijk Wetboek voor Indonesie).

Furthermore, under the Indonesian adoption law, once an Indonesian citizen adopts a child, the adoption severs the child’s relationship to the birth parents, and the adopted child is given the same status as a natural child and the child takes the name of his step-father, in this case, Soetoro. See Indonesian Constitution, Article 2.

The Indonesian citizenship law was designed to prevent apatride (stateless) or bipatride (dual) citizenship. Indonesian regulations recognized neither apatride nor bipatride (stateless or dual) citizenship. Since Indonesia did not allow dual citizenship; neither did the United States (since the United States only permitted dual citizenship when 'both' countries agree); and since Obama/Soetoro was a "natural" citizen of Indonesia, the United States would not step in or interfere with the laws of Indonesia. Hague Convention of 1930.

As a result of Soetoro/Obama’s Indonesian "natural" citizenship status, Soetoro/Obama could never regain U.S. "natural born" status, if he in fact he ever held such, which we doubt. Soetoro/Obama could have only become "naturalized" if the proper paperwork were filed with the U.S. State Department, after going through U.S. Immigration upon his return to the United States; in which case, Soetoro/Obama would have received a Certification of Citizenship indicating "naturalized."

We are informed, believe and thereon allege Obama/Soetoro was never naturalized in the United States after his return. Soetoro/Obama was ten (10) years old when he returned to Hawaii to live with his grandparents. Soetoro/Obama’s mother did not return with him. Therefore, it appears that she did not apply for citizenship for Soetoro/Obama in the United States. If citizenship for Soetoro/Obama had been applied for in 1971, Soetoro/Obama would have a Certification of Citizenship. If Soetoro/Obama returned in 1971 to Hawaii without going through U.S. Immigration, today he would be an "illegal alien" -- and obviously not able to serve as president, but also his term as a United States Senator from Illinois for nearly four (4) years was illegal. We further believe Soetoro might have reentered the United States at age ten (10) by showing a copy of his Hawaiian Certification of Live Birth, which he received when his birth was registered in Hawaii.

In addition, we have been unable to locate any legal documents wherein Soetoro’s name was legally changed from Barry Soetoro to Barack Hussein Obama. Soetoro/Obama’s silence on these issues is deafening and his refusal to release such records to prove that none of this occurred results in his status as Acting Commander in Chief at best, and a willful action on his part to deceive the American People and the Armed Forces of the United States so that he may wield power that is in non-compliance with the United States Constitution.

Well, the veil is finally off. By appointing this envoy, Obama is at last admitting what we knew all along: ISLAM IS A POLITICAL SYSTEM. Moreover, it's a political system that wants to replace every other rival political system in the world. Yes, Islam is an all-encompassing way of life, but it has gotten a free pass because its apologists always resort to hiding behind its status as a religion.

Now that we know that our President sees Islam as a political system that must be given the same regard as other sovereign nations, we can expect a lot more to come. Will imams qualify for diplomatic immunity? Just one possibility.

This is the worst thing Obama has done so far.

Also, what's with the extremists who "exploit tensions between Muslims and the West" and removing Islam from any accountability? That's not only idiotic, it's insulting. Now governments that try to protect their citizens and protect civil liberties are reduced to the same level as bomb-carrying jihadists?

OF COURSE Islam is the problem. It needs to go.

The Organisation of the Islamic Conference is the arch-villain of the battle against freedom.

Why are our liberals not shouting night and day (liberal means 'in favor of freedom')???

Why are liberals silent when freedom is threatened...Adolf Hitler, communism?

Geert Wilders is the closest thing we have to a Churchill today...a voice crying in the wilderness! 'Beware the Trojan horse of the religion of peace (TM)!'

Liberalism is a form of Fascism, therefore they have much in common with Islamic-fascists.

of course...I've been saying he's driving the bus in to the ditch with us on it for at least 6 months. I saw it happening long ago.
Both his parents were Commies for cryin' out loud! An image of Mao was on a Christmas tree ornament hangin' from the White House Christmas tree!

islam is a lie and
Truth is killing it.

Uniting science and islam is like trying to weld a pop bottle to a piece of wood. Ain' happenin'.
How can a made up "religion" created by a sexual pervert possibly have anything to do with real science?...unless purely by accident. As in a large number of false prophets set down at a large number of typewriters...

islam is a freakin' lie and no Truth, scientific or otherwise can possibly come from it.

No islam...Know Peace.
Know islam...Know nothing...

you guys? Who the hell is "you guys"?
Very few if any here called him a muslim, and very few Conservatives did so either. Those that did were magnified many times over by a sympathetic and boot licking media. They completely glossed over the fact that both of Obamas parents were Communists. The gave him a pass on attending a racist, hate filled, anti-American "Church" for 22 years. Do you honestly believe that he sat there all that time and heard nothing? Absorbed nothing? Do you believe that he was unaffected by those he chose to associate himself with? Can you say Bill Ayers? If the Truth had been made known about Barry even folks like you might have avoided the mistake that is Obama.
And you think that an IQ of 116 is really high? That's Obamas IQ. Sarahs is 126. Get yer facts straight. Being a liberal though...facts are to be ignored or made up right?
By the way...one of your heroes no doubt, Feinstein gave a little speech with notes written...on her left hand. Just in case you're one of those that take that as a sign of ignorance.
What is ignorant is your believing that Sarah is ignorant because the lamestream media says so. Have you not figured out that they lie all the time?
She was my Mayor before she was my Governor. I have listened to her for many years, far more than you youngling.
When you mature some and have paid taxes for a while, you'll have a different view of those that seek to destroy business with Cap and Trade. You might learn something about why there are fewer and fewer jobs available to the American worker. And if you have some number of years on this planet, in this country and you have not yet figured this stuff out, you never will. THAT is the measure of true ignorance...willful ignorance takes the cake every time.

islam is a lie and
Truth is killing it.

Since the topic came up here, I did some sleuthing for material on the IQs of Obama and Palin. Here's what I found.

Evidence that the above report is faked is at http://www.reddit.com/r/politics/comments/769c3/sarah_palins_iq_and_sat_scores_lets_just_say_that/

Conclusions

1. Large variance in scores.
2. Not all reports carry the same weight.
3. Consensus among liberals is that Obama is a genius and Palin is, at best (and that's being charitable), no better than average.

As noted above, raw IQ score only reflects one aspect of a personality, and for political leaders there are other aspects that are of equal or greater importance.

For a survey of IQs of both contemporary and historical figures, check out http://www.kids-iq-tests.com/d-prez.html

Some teasers - people with IQs > 150 (some of these - whooda thunk?)

160 Albert Einstein
170 Andrew Wiles
180 Benjamin Netanyahu
160 Bill Gates
187 Bobby Fischer
195 Chris Langan
160 Dolph Lungren
156 Ellen Muth
180 James Woods
156 Jimmy Carter
180 John Sununu
172 Judy Holliday
160 Reggie Jackson
154 Sharon Stone
160 Stephen Hawking
228 Marilyn Vos Savant

Jayne Mansfield almost made it, with an IQ of 149.

Notice - except for Carter, there are no American presidents on this list. And about Carter, what can I say?

AlaskanInfidel:
It is plenty refreshing to experience that clear and pure air cleaning out these absurd and inane assumptions regarding Barry’s Hussein’s IQ. Compare Pailns brilliant performance as Governor of the free and beautiful state you are blessed to live in versus all that Barrack Hussein has ever done, unmitigated failures. The score would be Palin 100, Barrack -100, at least. This dude is serving some cause , whether islamic or communistic, social or idealistic it does not matter, he is brining America down big time. It is evident for a lot of people to see this, but just like the picture of 3000 American murdered citizens was insufficient to keep their attention, some will equally be unable to see this.

I'm sure that in the case of James Woods genius IQ ,by his track record you can certify it simply knowing that he was accepted and attended MIT and was able to realize the intentions of a muslim group he was flying with, before 911.
In some of the other cases, including well meaning Jimmy Carter, from an acquaintance of mine who studied with him at Cal Tech, the number may be somewhat inflated,
In other cases, such as Sharon Stones, it either may be based on an online test or a publicist had to do something with it.
By the way an intresting and exausive IQ test is the one the CIA administers, barrack could not qualify for the top secret clearance on account of having a forgein born father.

OT, but somewhat tangentially related to the IQ question above.

People blessed or cursed with extremely high IQs often/usually also have what are considered behavioral disorders and difficulties of one kind or another deriving from the peculiar way their brains are wired. Although I don't particularly trust psychological classifiations, one of them that is fascinating nevertheless is Asperger's Syndrome, which is a mild form of autism. Check out http://www.disabled-world.com/artman/publish/article_2086.shtml to see who you might be surprised to learn were probably Aspies, as they affectionately call themselves.

Some tidbits about noted Aspies and their eccentricities:

Benjamin Franklin was not assigned the task of writing the Constitution because his colleagues thought he would conceal a joke in it.

Albert Einstein was considered retarded by his teachers.

Napolean Bonapart believed humanists were troublemakers.

Andrew Jackson believed the world was flat.

James Garfield could write in Latin with one hand, and in Greek with the other hand - at the same time.

Louis IV only bathed once a year.

Peter the Great reportedly killed his wife's lover, and then forced her to keep her lover's head in a jar of alcohol in her bedroom.

Leonardo da Vinci could write with one hand while drawing with the other.

Ludwig Beethoven was such a poor music student that his music teachers decided he was hopeless as a composer.

Henry Ford believed in reincarnation.

Robin Williams was voted least likely to succeed in high school.

Clark Gable used to take more than four showers a day.

Hans Christian Anderson was word blind and never learned to spell correctly.

Goethe hated the sound of barking dogs.

Ernest Vincent Wright, author of the novel, Gatsby, wrote the work, which has a word count of 50,000, without once using the letter 'e'.

A partial list of other Aspies: Albert Einstein, Alan Turing, Al Gore, Andy Kaufman, Andy Warhol, Bill Gates, Bob Dylan, Carl Jung, Hans Asperger, Isaac Asimov, Isaac Newton, Jane Austen, Mark Twain, Michael Jackson, Michael Palin, Amadeus Mozart, Nikola Tesla, Thomas Jefferson, Vincent Van Gogh, Woody Allen. There are many others, and taken together they comprise more or less a who's who of the movers and shakers of the world.

And in the fictional domain, there are Raymond from the movie Rainman, Mr Spock from Star Trek, Commander Data from Star Trek Next Generagion, Rodney McKay from Stargate Atlantis, Seven-of-Nine from Star Trek Voyager, Chauncy Gardner from the movie Being There, and Jerry Espenson from Boston Legal. Oliver Saks' book "The Man Who Mistook his Wife For a Hat" provides a charming account of some of his patients who also fall into this category.

Relevance to Sarah Palin - I would say her peculiarities, such as they are, put her in with some pretty good company.

Palin has the knack of saying what you realize should have been said but only after she says it. And does this without inhibition and as Harry Truman did, plainly. She speaks and believes what I believe, the store may not be in Rodeo drive but she still is never short in stock of what I need. Honesty, integrity, first and formost she is for me, for America and for a future I want my kids to live in.
The notes she has on her left hand where written by her own right hand. Can she get more of the women's vote? Can those who are influenced by hipsters, whats cool, go for her in larger numbers, open question. Palin does not have to wait to run for office, she is already effecting world of good across the Nation with her speeches, ideas and support of solid good political candidates. What out libs, Palin is coming to get'cha.

That's interesting, Eastview.

My own eldest son has Asperger's Syndrome; he's a very gifted artist, still obsessively and intensively developing his skills. So over the past ten years since we finally found out that he had Asperger's, we (my husband and I) have learned a *lot* about it. Basically, the consensus accounts of 'Asperger's' enabled us to make sense of things that had baffled us about him since he was a baby.

Re. Sarah Palin: if she 'draws a bead' on Islam - and it's up to Alaskan citizens like you to help her do that - then the jihadis had better go find some holes to hide in.

The jihadis' worstest nightmare is surely an icily angry Hockey Mom with a great big moose gun backed up by millions of other Soccer Moms and Hockey Moms who have absolutely no intention of being stuffed into anybody's harem, nor of letting any hairy pedophile Mohammedan get anywhere *near* their daughters and granddaughters.

DDA, thank you very much for your comments. We have a high incidence of Asperger's in my family, we think coming down through my mother's, Amish side. I have a grand-nephew who, it was evident even when he was a baby, was different. He didn't care about the usual things, and even at the age of eighteen months had started disassembling things to figure out how they worked, everything from the plumbing fittings beneath the bathroom sink, to door latches, anything mechanical. He started reading at the age of three and had figured out on his own the rules of arithmetic even before entering kindergarten at age five. By the age of seven he was fixing the toaster and garage door opener and motors and anything with moving parts. Needless to say, he was a "problem child" at his school from the very beginning. His parents were quite worried until they learned about Asperger's. They finally took him out of public school and entered him into a private school that contained may children from Microsoft families (his father works at Microsoft). He's much happier there, where children are encouraged to expand at the limits of their abilities. He's now twelve, and just won an award for building and programming an autonomous self-guiding robot. My Christmas present to him this year was a guide on how to read the assembly language BIOS code on a PC, and a book on special tricks in Ubuntu Linux.

A few years ago I ran across a fascinating article about Asperger's, sometimes also called over here the "Silicon Valley Disease" because there was a sharp spike in its incidence with the formation of the high tech and computer companies in Silicon Valley, near San Francisco. The thesis of the article was that Asperger's is caused by a recessive gene. Every family has a reclusive bachelor uncle who may actually be a world class expert on Druid chants, or an elderly maiden aunt who just happens to know more about the mating habits of Pacific Islanders than anyone else, or whatever. Extremely intelligent, but also somewhat eccentric by normal standards - Aspies. They tend not to marry, so the gene doesn't get passed down very often.

But in Silicon Valley there were suddenly large numbers of boy geeks and girl geeks thrown together, and the result was a massive surge in the rate of Asperger's children. And of course, the same happened in Microsoft, near Seattle. Microsoft has a family program, in fact, to deal with the special problems of their employees' children. I constantly provide whatever support I can, mostly moral support, for my grand nephew, stressing to his parents that he has been blessed with a rare gift. Their job is nurture it and to protect him from the outside world (and also from himself by discouraging him from trying to repeat some of the many stories he has heard about experiments his father and grandfather and uncles used to conduct while growing up that invariably went awry and ended in failure, usually culminating in a loud explosion and starting a fire somewhere - our poor mother never had decent kitchenware, all of it being blue from being held over fires until they glowed red hot, or to see how sugar melts, or whatever) until he matures enough to know how to protect himself.

An aside about the school my grand-nephew attends. He is one of only a few Anglos there. Virtually all of the students come from professional families, a very large percentage of them being Chinese, Korean and Indian. These people understand the value of education and don't want their children to be subjected to the insanity of our public schools.

Oh Alaskan, your ideas are pretty hilarious. Unfortunately welding hadn't been invented in Mo's time, but some well-guided smart guys should have welded the sexual pervert Mo to a palm tree. Could have spared mankind a lot of trouble.

I don't think it fair to describe Rosalind Franklin as the discover of the structure of DNA, and Watson and Crick as merely having stolen her ideas. As I understand it, she deserved far greater recognition for her work, and for how close she had come, and there were things that constituted setbacks to her work, I gather, that were simply bad luck, questions of timing. As I understand it, a handsome and deserving tribute to her was made by Professor Aaron Klug, of the Laboratory of Molecular Biology, in Cambridge (and later President of the Royal Society) at the time of his acceptance of the Nobel Prize. She was treated badly; she deserved more recognition. Did Watson mistreat her in "The Double Helix" ? I suspect he might have. But I haven't read it, and I don't know enough, and it would be idiotic of me to attempt to say more.
