John Currie, who worked for BAE Systems - formerly British Aerospace - is believed to have been one four cyclists who started being "cut up" by local youths in two cars on a main road on the outskirts of Riyadh, the Saudi capital.
Initially, it is understood that one of the cars clipped a cyclist causing him to fall off his bike. Then, however, one of the drivers is alleged to have turned around and deliberately ploughed his car into the cyclists. [...]
In the past 15 years, there have been a number of terrorist attacks on British and other western nationals in Saudi Arabia by Muslim extremists. Several westerners have been killed - and even more injured - in a series of bombs and gun attacks. Radicals are angry that US and British oil companies and their staff are operating on Saudi soil.
In one incident, Simon Cumbers, 36, an Irish freelance cameraman, was shot dead and Frank Gardner, the BBC's security correspondent, was critically injured by apparent al-Qaeda sympathisers as they filmed in Riyadh in 2004.
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) confirmed the death on Saturday. A spokesman said: "A British national, John Currie, died in a road traffic accident on Feb 25 and we were informed. We have offered consular assistance to the family." Sources at the FCO said it would be for the Saudi authorities to determine if there was a "guilty party" involved in the incident. [...]
Company sources say that the arrest of an individual in such circumstances would not necessarily mean that criminal charges will follow. "Under Sharia law - the Muslim law - the driver is arrested even if it is an accident," said one source. "Under Sharia law too, he may have to pay a certain amount [to the family of the victim] depending on whose fault it was."
But they fail to mention that under Sharia law and Saudi law (see "Settlement of Death Compensation Claims, item 5), the blood money prescribed for killing a non-Muslim is less than for a Muslim.
Saudi boys ("Yoots") are bored silly, and they spend a lot of time, in groups, going back and forth on Saudi roads, and sometimes, out in the desert, they play various games of chicken. Given their inculcated contempt and even hatred for infidels, and given that they can get away with murder - look at how their parents treat their domestic slaves, some of whom, when those Saudi families are abroad (the father "studying" something or other so as to be able to stay in the West, which for so many is a fun-fair-and-brothel combined), manage to escape and breathlessly tell their incredible tales of every conceivable kind of cruelty and abuse -- why should they not have some fun ramming into some Infidel bicyclists? There's no chance any of them will be made to suffer. At most, they might have to pay some blood money. But the government of Great Britain is not about to queer business dealings with the Saudis; it already showed, in squashing the investigation into BAE contracts and Saudis on the take, that it was perfectly willing to prevent British justice from being done, and willing to let it be seen not to be done.
Why should these Saudi boys, with their killer-cars, think anything will happen to them?
It didn't have to be terrorists. It could simply be arrogant, vicious, Saudis fully convinced they are above and beyond any Western punishment, or any domestic punishment for such an offense. And they are almost certainly correct.

I overlooked mention of Frank Gardner, Frank "Help Me I'm A Muslim" Gardner, the one who on September 11, 2001 had to report, most reluctantly he admitted, on how Cairenes were celebrating the glad news of the mass-murder of Infidels in New York. That didn't keep Frank Gardner from hewing to the anti-Israel Islamophilic line of the BBC World Service, stacked as it is to the gills with Defenders of the Faith (that Faith being Islam). And now I can hear Frank "Help Me I'm A Muslim" again on the BBC, fully recovered from his attack, and for all I know the recipient of Saudi largesse (really, he should tell us if he received anything from the Arabs, and if so how much, and when, and where), as if nothing had happened. And his reports show that he has learned nothing, and forgotten nothing. It's the same old apologetic nonsense. Amazing.
Of course, the BBC avoids reporting this Saudi jihad killing of a British citizen: it is too busy campaigning for ex al-Qaeda, Ethiopian Muslim, Binyam Mohamed.

All this from a religion whose apologists pride themselves on social equality!
From what I understand there are (almost?) no traffic laws in Saudi Arabia, because there were no traffic laws in the Quran - and the entire law system in SA is based on the Quran. So I'm not entirely sure that the Brit was murdered, although it is obviously a possibility. On the other hand it could be the result of the stupidity of basing a countries entire judicial system on a plagiarized book written in the 7th century

Muslim motorists regularly run over dogs with their cars. This, to them, is no different. Also, the strategy of running victims over, *then returning*, is common. Omeed Aziz Popal, the San Francisco sudden-Jihad SUV killer, hit a number of pedestrians, then doubled back to try to both finish them off, and pick off a few of their rescuers at the same time.
This is also the idea behind staggered bombings—hitting an area, then setting another bomb to roughly coincide with the arrival of Good Samaritans or emergency personnel.

What are the chances these cold-blooded killers will receive the death penalty? A Christian—which is likely what John Currie would be considered, whatever his actual faith—is at best considered to have half the worth of a Muslim. So the life of a non-Muslim is *never* worth that of a Muslim, even if the Muslim in question is a vicious killer.
A lengthy prison term is unlikely, as well. The most the family of poor, murdered John Currie can hope for is an offer of blood-money to make the pesky problem go away.

I dunno what sympathy I have for some idiot who thinks it's OK for a westerner to be in SA and just take a day off for some biking. If you don't realize by now that the place is psychotic you probably will get what you deserve. I had an Indian co-worker who was posted for a while in S.A. He was dark-skinned, not Muslim (Hindu) but of course you couldn't tell. Anyway, he told me what life was like there and said he would absolutely never go back. I've heard similar stories from other people. I feel the same for Westerners who go to work in Dubai thinking that's it's like Chicago with hijabs or something. Well, it's a violent, horrible dictatorship and a little peak at Wikipedia or other search results from The Google will easily demonstrate the perils of being in these rotten places. The only ones I feel for are children taken there and their mothers who try to reclaim them.
(By the way I feel the same for the idiots who think they can work in Communist China and it's just like L.A. because you know they're modern and all.)

It is somewhat doubtful that the Saudi drivers will be held accountable for harming the foreign bicylists. Back in S.A. in 1991, we were told that one of the 'road rules' was that the foreign-VICTIM was ALWAYS at fault for having CAUSED the accident. The Saudi legal reasoning was(is?): "If the foreigner had not been in our country, the accident would not have happened." How can you argue against their 'logic'?

If the "foreigners" were not in their hellhole of a country at the behest of the "royal" bedouins, the entire putrid edifice would collapse. Foreign workers and a few Western-educated Saudis keep the power on, the water flowing, the supermarkets stocked, the hospitals staffed, and everything else the lazy citizenry are too good to do. The superior Saudis study islam and amuse themselves with Western technology and islamic debauchery, the latter consisting of infinite perversions including unspeakable malevolence and cruelty, all rubber-stamped by allah in the unholy qur'an. Their only purpose in life is to grovel to allah and await their eternal rewards for emulating their demonic prophet.
I could never work for these primitive, supremacist barbarians but I guess the money is irresistible to some. Being considered an inferior slave by atavistic savages would be more than I could handle. It would be a sight to behold if all the foreign workers, technicians, and professionals departed the cursed kingdom en mass and they had to fend for themselves. There would be national chaos within twenty four hours. That's exactly what they need to realize what pathetic losers they are.
The freaks spawned from muslim inbreeding are becoming more and more volatile and mentally unstable, and physical defects are also on the rise. Recyclying the limited gene pool threatens future generations, which might be too weak and physically deformed to adequately express their inherent rage and indignation, or to wage jihad against the infidels. Islam causes insanity but at least that can sometimes be cured. There's no cure for the mental and physical defects caused by consanguinity. Maybe sterility will be among those nasty afflictions and they will breed themselves out of existence.
Geopolitics:
It was no accident. The same thing happened to me when I lived in Riyadh, although in my case I was walking across a street right after noon-time prayer when two Saudi "youths" hit the gas coming out of a Safeway supermarket parking lot and aimed DIRECTLY for me at sudden high speed. I was fortunately able to jump onto the neighboring concrete divider and was only hit in the right arm and spun around before they sped away as one of the passengers turned around and stared at me in the eyes as they drove off.
Their intent was clear and I basically stopped walking out in public thereafter, especially on Friday afternoons when Muslims are most enraged (i.e. when they leave mosque after Friday "Religion of Peace" sermons).
Of course, I was highly disturbed by the incident and was hoping that someone had seen what had occurred - as if anyone would have testified in my defense - but all I saw were several women covered from head to toe in black burqas facing my direction... and of course it's basically illegal to interact with women who aren't directly related to you so soliciting their assistance for a police report was a non-starter.
Yes, Saudi Arabia has a high driving mortality rate in large part because Saudi Arabians drive like idiots - in the belief that Allah will bless and protect them (and that each Muslim is the center of the universe and owns the road) - but there are also *numerous* cases when Saudis specifically target Americans/Europeans/Westerners and this should be exposed and discussed publicly.
