But...but...wasn't Obama supposed to usher in a new era of mutual respect between the U.S. and Iran? Instead, Islam as a "political force ... from Morocco to Malaysia" is more belligerent than ever.
"Ahmadinejad Lauds Iran's Mightiness in Post-Revolution Era," from the Fars News Agency, February 6 (thanks to Mo):
TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad appreciated the Iranian nation for its resistance and vigilance against the enemies during the three decades after the victory of the Islamic Revolution. "The Iranian nation is now standing against the US more firmly, more powerfully, more revolutionarily and more vigilantly than 31 years ago and they will stand so (in future)," Ahmadinejad said, addressing a gathering of people here in Tehran on Saturday.Referring to the fall of the former Pahlavi dynasty in 1978, he said the Iranian nation revolted 31 years ago not just to overthrow the cruel monarch but to stand against the arrogant powers and that Iranians have continued the same path of resistance all throughout these years.
Ahmadinejad further praised the Iranian nation for the power and vigilance it has displayed since the onset of the Islamic Revolution, and said that the people have succeeded in defusing all enemy plots in these years.
The Iranian Revolution (Also known as the Islamic Revolution, Liberty Revolution or 1979 Freedom Revolution or Enghel?be Esl?mi) refers to events involving the overthrow of Iran's monarchy (Pahlavi dynasty) under Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi and its replacement with an Islamic Republic under Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, the leader of the revolution. It has been called an event that "made Islam a political force ... from Morocco to Malaysia."...
I hope that in Farsi, for Ahmedinajad's sake, "more revolutionarily" is a little less polysyllabic, and comes a little more trippingly off the tongue, than it does in English.

Feb. 11th? Good a day as any for a comeuppance for this scumbag.
Apologize for the dbl post/link, 1st link was broken.
Appeasement just encourages dictators. God, you'd think that lesson would have been learned by now.
Ahmadshithead, the ugliest man on this planet is talking rubbish again. Business as usual. He's got the IQ of a worm, but still thinks he can impress us. The most important issue is to keep the Iranians away from nukes. No Western technology in the hands of Mahoundians!

Am I living in the same world he is?
Where is the improvement? The Islamic Revolution has managed to toss Persia into seventh century barbarism. The Muslim led government is a perfect example of what Muslims want to impose on the rest of the world.
The regime is threatened, and as with any tyrannical, totalitarian system Iran/islam must create an outside threat to divert attention from the slavery both impose upon the nation and all the people that suffer under islamic based "governments".
Alpong with Israel or Jews in general, we have been the glue that binds the Iranian people together with their rulers for years now. This Satan, this United States has been eclipsed by a much closer and obvious evil. Their own government.
How much blood will spill on the anniversary of the revolution? They are told to stay home. So contradictory. Instructing those that are expected to support and celebrate the revolution to ignore it. I suspect all gatherings of any kind shall remain verboten until the bloody ayatoilets feel they have murdered enough of their people to have made made their position clear.
What they fully realize is that the youth of the country were at the forefront of the revolution that removed the last government from power. Freakin' Carter... They have shown no mercy so far and I don't expect they will. The only way to deal with this is with crushing, bloody, naked power. This is why the regular police forces have been replaced with peasants, willing to do anything for a little money. Brought in from the countryside to beat/kill for money. To be sent back once the deed is done.
Even if the present tyrants are removed, there will still be the tyranny of islam. Never to be free after sacrificing so many lives. Rinse, repeat.
islam is a lie and
Truth is killing it.
Damn...no goin' back to edit...that's "Along with" not Alpong.
"Islam as a "political force ... from Morocco to Malaysia" is more belligerent than ever."
This, of course, is true but really misses the bigger picture.
Obama's popularity is all that matters and he is more popular now in the Muslim world than ever. I think it is incredibly selfish of us to attempt to elevate our personal safety over Obama's vanity.
If a nuke landed in one of Iran's oil fields, how long would it burn? Could this be the inferno that Ahamanutjob so desires?
It is absurd to continue to press sanction against this nut case. All the years of diplomacy have brought the US with regard to Iran is capitulation to despotism and an increasingly more nuclear capable enemy. I was watching that Jon Stewart interview on Fox the other night and I was stunned to hear Stewart say that he felt the Iran's need for self-preservation would always keep Ahmadinejad from ever pulling the trigger. Made my head spin...
Ahmadinejad is the ultimate suicide bomber. Iran and its people will be the greatest act of martyrdom ever conceived when he finally has the means to do what he wants. The end of days brings the return of the 12th imam. That is what the Shia revolution truly want. They are not rational and the idea of mutually assured destruction is not a deterrent to anything in their eyes. Iran is not Russia.
Celebrity is clearly not an indicator of intelligence. Stewart's apathy about something so volatile is symptomatic of the rest of our culture. People cannot suspend their disbelief about the irrational, even at the expense of their own lives. Cognitive dissonance is going to get alot of people killed, I fear.
It has been called an event that "made Islam a political force ... from Morocco to Malaysia."...
If Ahmadinejad and the Ayatollah were overthrown do you suppose this would make political Islam less relevant?
Or is the damage already done?
