Yes, yes, "there is no compulsion in religion" (Qur'an 2:256) and forced conversion is forbidden in Islamic law, but when [1] the prophet of Islam himself tells his followers to offer unbelievers conversion, subjugation, or war, the line between free choice and compulsion can get a little blurred.
