As Palestinians continue almost daily rioting in Jerusalem and other cities, claiming Israel is damaging places holy to Islam, the Palestinian Authority has chosen to rekindle another libel whose goal seems to be to increase the unrest and rioting.This renewed libel is based on a rewriting of history by the Palestinian Authority, accusing Israel of assisting in the arson attack in the Al-Aqsa Mosque in 1969.
The facts of the case were as follows: A non-Jewish Australian started a fire in the Al-Aqsa Mosque on Aug. 21, 1969. The fire was extinguished and the damage was repaired.
More than ten years ago the Palestinian Authority initiated the lie that Israel was involved in the arson or that it Jew who started the fire with the Israeli government's help. The libel was revived this week with this slide broadcast on PA TV:
Text on top: "Israeli aggression against the holy places"
Text in middle: "And on Aug. 21, 1969, the Jew Dennis Michael set fire to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, with the support of the Jewish government, which cut off the water supply from the neighborhoods close to the Al-Aqsa Mosque with a view to delaying the operations to extinguish [the fire]."
Text on bottom: "Aggression against the holy places - the occupation: a long history of defiling and desecrating that which is sacred."

Meanwhile, Pamela Geller does some historical investigation and finds that this sort of incitement has happened before.
The world will be a better place, a safer place, if all of the so-called holy sites of Islam are destroyed. Muslims spend too much time obsessing over their so-called holy places. It isn't good for them or anyone else. Once all of those places are gone, rubble, dust, dirt, then the Muslims can start spending their time thinking about spiritual matters (except that Islam doesn't really involve anything spiritual, maybe they can invent something or find another religion.)

Of course, we all remember the "Palestinian" reaction to the Oslo Accords—that would be the Second Intifada.
It is Muslims who have—for centuries—striven to seize sites sacred to Judaism, and Christianity, and Hinduism, and Buddhism, and claim them for Islam. They haven't just wanted the sites for Islam, but to obliterate even the memory that these places were once sacred to anyone other than Muslims. This is true of the Jewish Temple Mount itself.

The Obama administration is demonstrating itself to be an enabler of such behavior among the Palestinians, especially after the embarrassing performance of VP Joe Biden on the Israel building more Jewish homes on land that was won in the 67 war.
Par for the course ! After all, the palestinians started denying that there was ever a jewish presence on the Temple Mount ( thanks to Yasser Arafat ), even though archeology has proved otherwise - time and time again.
When confronted with facts, and the physical evidence to back up the facts, the palestinian "leaders" refuse to address or acknowledge them.
Today is an historic day in Israel as it marks The Temple Institutes *FIRST* ....

The Holy Temple lies in ruins, and the Moslem Wakf has commandeered the Temple Mount, forbidding all but Moslems to approach the Mount freely and to raise their voices in prayer to G-d.
The Temple Institute has, along with other organizations, declared today, March 16, 2010, the first day of the month of Nisan, the month of our redemption from Egypt and the month of our future redemption, to be THE FIRST ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL TEMPLE MOUNT AWARENESS DAY. We have called upon all who wish to ascend the Mount, Jews and Gentiles, in accordance to Jewish law, to gather at the foot of the Mount this morning. The Israeli police have declared the Mount off limits on this day to all but Moslems, citing Arab threats to commit violence as a response to our desire to ascend the Mount to mark this holy day. The police are thereby by preventing us from fulfilling our commitment to G-d and Torah, and from exercising our inalienable rights as citizens of a democratic society.
Once again, following a decades-old pattern, the police have abandoned the task which has been entrusted to them to uphold, and rather than punish the inciters to violence, they have punished the intended victims of the calls to violence.
Nevertheless, the police cannot prevent us from performing the most important and essential task of petitioning the Prime Minister of the State of Israel, and demanding immediate change: Jews and Gentiles must be allowed to pray on the Temple Mount. I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the Temple Mount. As you know, the Temple Mount is the holiest site in the world for the Jewish people, yet the Muslim authorities, aided by Israel Police, systematically deny the right of religious expression on the Mount to all non-Moslems. On numerous occasions the High Court of Justice has upheld the Jewish people’s right to pray at the site, yet the police continue to prevent this. Furthermore, Jewish visitors are harassed and degraded. This discrimination is a grave trampling of civil rights. Israeli law is not recognized by the Wakf authorities; illegal digging has destroyed priceless historical remnants of Jerusalem’s Jewish history.
Please, end this travesty and allow Jewish freedom of expression at the Temple Mount. I urge you to include the Temple Mount in your “Heritage Plan” of sites significant to the Jewish people.

lol, Paul ...yeah they are such sweet and gentle people, so what's the problem? I mean all they want to do is go up there and pray. And maybe you heard one of the Jewish gentlemen mention that he wishes everyone from ALL faiths could go up there to pray. The Jews have the right perspective, but do the muslims? No! They are the haters, not the Jews.
