CAIR is an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case -- so named by the Justice Department. CAIR operatives have repeatedly refused to denounce Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist groups. Several former CAIR officials have been convicted of various crimes related to jihad terror. CAIR's cofounder and longtime Board chairman (Omar Ahmad), as well as its chief spokesman (Honest Ibe Hooper), have made Islamic supremacist statements.
The fact that this gang of Islamic supremacist thugs, liars, smear artists and stomach-stapled beekeepers opposes this textbook is a huge mark in its favor.
"Muslim group calls textbooks discriminatory," by Jon Hurdle for Reuters, March 17 (thanks to all who sent this in):
PHILADELPHIA (Reuters) - Muslim activists launched a campaign on Wednesday against a series of educational books that they say promote anti-Islamic sentiment among U.S. school children."The World of Islam," a 10-book series, encourages young readers to believe Muslims are terrorists and seek to undermine U.S. society, said the Council on American-Islamic Relations, the nation's largest Muslim advocacy organization.
One book contains the passage: "For the first time, Muslims began immigrating to the U.S. in order to transform American society, sometimes through the use of terrorism."
So what's the problem? Is CAIR saying that Muslims have committed no acts of terror in the U.S.? Tell it to Nidal Hasan. Tell it to Abdulhakim Muhammad. Tell it to Naveed Haq. Tell it to Mohammed Reza Taheri-azar. Etc.
Moein Khawaja, civil rights director for CAIR in Pennsylvania, said the group has gotten dozens of complaints about the books from Muslim parents around the country. He said he was not aware of any discrimination against Muslim children due to the books, which are intended for middle- and high-school students.
The books were published in late 2009 by Mason Crest Publishers of Broomall, Pennsylvania, which worked with the Philadelphia-based Foreign Policy Research Institute to ensure their accuracy. It was unclear if the books are in use in any schools.
Khawaja said at a news conference that the books are "rife with incorrect information and fear-mongering" and called the FPRI a "pro-war think tank that has vigorously advocated for the Iraq war in the past and continues to defend that position."
INSTITUTE DISAGREES
Founded in 1955, the institute says on its website it is a non-profit group devoted to research on international affairs. It counted among its board members Alexander Haig, U.S. secretary of state under President Ronald Reagan, who recently died.
FPRI vice president Alan Luxenberg denied the books were anti-Islamic.
"This assertion is without basis, and there is no better way to ascertain the truth than to read the books," the institute said in a press release.
Luxenberg said the terrorism quote had been taken out of context and that it followed five pages on the history of Muslim immigration to the United States that said only some U.S. Muslims became radicalized, starting in the 1980s.
Luxenberg is the author of one of the books, "Radical Islam," the cover of which features a machine gun and a Muslim head scarf, with what looks like bloodstains underneath the scarf and the title word "Radical."
In its defense, the institute noted a quote in "Radical Islam" that reads: "The Western world must ally itself with the Muslim world in the war on radical Islam."...
Yeah, that's worked so wonderfully so far.
One thing you can say in support of Jon Hurdle, Reuters reporter: he is the first mainstream media reporter I've ever seen to include some shadow of a hint, however inadequate, that all may not be on the up-and-up with CAIR:
Critics have accused CAIR of being a front for the Palestinian Hamas faction and of receiving funding from the Arab world.
"The World of Islam," a 10-book series, encourages young readers to believe Muslims are terrorists and seek to undermine U.S. society, said the Council on American-Islamic Relations, the nation's largest Muslim advocacy organization.
One book contains the passage: "For the first time, Muslims began immigrating to the U.S. in order to transform American society, sometimes through the use of terrorism."
-- from the article above
So this passage disturbs CAIR? What is it about it that disturbs CAIR? Is it that terrorism is an instrument of Jihad that, quite clearly, a number of Muslims in this country have used, or attempted to use, or planned to use, to accomplish the goals of Jihad?
Or is it the other part of the quoted passage, about Muslims "immigrating to the U.S. in order to transform American society," that worries him? Isn't it true? Aren't believers in Islam disgusted with the Western world, and wish to transform it so that, in foreign and domestic policies, it will conform to what they wish, conform to to the Shari'a which, in letter and spirit, flatly contradict the most important parts of the American Constitution, in its letter and spirit? Isn't it true that the political and legal instittutions of this country are anathema to those who take Islam seriously, even if they are fully prepared to take advantage of the very political and other freedoms that those institutions offer them, in order to exploit them, in order to use them so as to increase Muslim power, and thereby to be in a better position to remove all obstacles to the spread, and then the dominance, of Islam?
Would Muslims who take Islam seriously deny that that is a duty iimposed on them by Islam or that they can forever ignore that duty?
Let the whole thing become a cause celebre, let CAIR go to town, so that all of the evidence for the truth of that particular passage, all of the statements of such people as Nihad Awad himself, can be quoted, and-requoted, and so that parts of the Qur'an as yet unknown to the general public, and many Hadith, as yet unknown to that same general public, and details of the life of that Perfect Man, Muhammad, may become much better known.
Every single such brouhaha or contretemps ought to be an occasion for mass dissemination of the material that people need to know. Don't let an opportunity like this go to waste.
Come to think about it, the Qur'an is pretty discrimInatory.........
CAIR can't handle the truth (what Muslim can, for that matter?) That's why it's so upset with these books, the issuing of which is a sign, one of many, that people have had their fill of Islam and all the BS that Muslims spout about their freedom-crushing, totalitarian belief system. Things are a changin'.
It's nice to see CAIR on the receiving end for a change.
FWIW, here is the FPRI Response to CAIR Allegations

This list alone reveals more about CAIR's distress. The material apparently wasn't filtered through their censors and the authors weren't Muslim. Perhaps this ten volume set provides a welcome breath of fresh air after all.
I'm not too crazy about the hate-filled, jihad-promoting, islamic supremacist textbooks they use at the Saudi Academy in Virginia but I'm sure CAIR has no problem with little muslim scumbags being taught that they are superior to non-muslims and to convert, kill, or subjugate them. The textbooks they disapprove of don't promote genocide, religious/moral/cultural supremacy, and holy war against muslims. Let's not forget the hate and jihad promulgated by imams in American mosques, or the filthy literature and jihad CD's they give or sell to their militant congregations. And they can't even stomach a little bit of sugar coated truth about islam and muslims! Muslims are the most treacherous, deceitful hypocrites on the planet!
CAIR needs to be shut up and shut down. The way these hysterical muslim hypocrites carry on, you would think they own America. They cannot bear to see the truth exposed about their evil death cult; does the truth about islam embarrass them? It should embarrass them because islam is the most hideous scourge to ever plague mankind.
"The way these hysterical muslim hypocrites carry on, you would think they own America."
They do. Own America.
They got one of them in the White House.
Perhaps Ibe Hooper of CAIR should add a remedial English grammar course to his much-vaunted bee-keeping skills before complaining. He's supposed to be good at public relations so writing correctly is a pre-requisite.
The passage in the book to which CAIR objected stated, I believe, "For the first time, Muslims began IMMIGRATING to the U.S. in order to transform American society, sometimes through the use of terrorism."
CAIR denied the "transform" and "terrorism" aspects but not the "immigration" aspect.
Surely, coming from outside the U.S., these adherents of the "religion of peace" EMIGRATED to the US. They started the process of EMIGRATION to the U.S. as EMIGRANTS. It is only when they get to the U.S. that they become IMMIGRANTS as part of a process of IMMIGRATION.
Perhaps the book should have stated, "For the first time, Muslims began emigrating to the U.S. in order to exploit its tradional freedoms to transform American society, sometimes through the use of terrorism."
That sounds better.
Is this a blatant example of "Grammar-ophobia" about which the entire English-speaking world should be "offended"? It's an "insult" and akin to "waging war on English speakers and the entire English language". Jihad is the only acceptable response to such affronts.

..............
Yes—everybody knows that American schools should use "non-biased" Wahabbi educational material from Saudi Arabia, like Tarek ibn Ziyad Academy in Minnesota and the Saudi Academy in Virginia do. sarc/off
"Radical Islam". There's that misleading redundancy again. The sooner it stops being used, the better.
Hey CAIR.How about those school books in the Palestinian
territories!
