Who says Islam is monumental? See, in Nigeria, Islam is tailored to local specifics, so it is "the sword *and the spear*", rather than just the sword.

Perhaps this is the "synergistic Islam of Africa" that we hear so much about... sarc/off

The bad news is that Christians in Nigeria will inevitably be defeated by the Moslems. You know why: one belief system is predicated upon love-thy-neighbor, the other on takeover-thy-neighbor.

Typical boilerplate Muslim projection, stomach-turning in its amoral monstrousness.

It is the MUSLIMS who for fifty years and more, ever since the Biafra War, and doubtless through all the centuries since Islam arrived in that part of Africa, who have been attacking the non-Muslims, whether animist (in the early centuries) or Christian (once Christianity established itself, peacefully, during the 19th century). It is the MUSLIMS who in the past ten years, particularly, have been raping and mass-murdering Christians in northern and central Nigeria; and who then have been screaming blue murder if the Christians, and other non-Muslims, driven beyond all reasonable endurance, and denied any help from the Muslim-controlled army and police force, and the Muslim-dominated government, begin to try - quite understandably and sensibly - to defend themselves by main force against the church burners and the mass murderers and the howling, allahu-akbaring Muslim mobs, and FIGHT BACK and even - at times - win! Muslims think they are entitled hurt and kill others, whenever they like, and as cruelly as they like - but that no-one is allowed to kill or hurt their precious Muslim selves in response!

I think this little piece by Phyllis Chesler really says it all, about the Mohammedan bully mind, that laughs when it hurts another, but HOWLS, in screeches of outrage, if the person he attacks, DARES to resist, to say NO, to fight back:

In response to such monstrous reversal of reality, in response to the murdering bully who cries that he is 'defending' himself against his intended victim's inexplicable refusal to lie down and offer the neck to the scimitar - how DARE they resist him! - the Christians of Nigeria would do well to remember the words of Winston Churchill, from the original unabridged 1899 edition of 'The River War' (describing the British Empire going up against the screaming hordes of the Muslim Mahdi - slave-master, jihad rabble-rouser, murderer and enslaver of black Africans by the thousands - in the Sudan, in the late 19th century):

"No terms but fight or death were offered. No reparation or apology could be made. . .

"The red light of retribution played on the bayonets and the lances,

'and civilization—elsewhere sympathetic, merciful, tolerant, ready to discuss or to argue, eager to avoid violence, to submit to law, to effect a compromise—

"here advanced with an expression of inexorable sternness,

and rejecting all other courses, offered only the arbitration of the sword."

The Muslim was first to invoke the sword and take it up. Let him discover that the civilised and the peaceful will wield the sword against him, and that they *do not accept* his monstrous assumption that he, and he alone, is entitled to hurt others and yet not be hurt by his intended victims.

For in the short term (though the Gospel IS making significant inroads through radio, etc.) the non-Muslims of southern and central Africa and their friends elsewhere in the world need to wake up and realize that it is ONLY 'the sword and spear', or rather, the modern equivalents of the Gatling gun, that will stop the MUSLIM hordes (Arab-bankrolled, Arab-incited, now pushing down relentlessly from the North and north-east into equatorial sub-saharan Africa) from robbing, pillaging, vandalising churches, clinics and businesses, raping, kidnapping, enslaving and mass-murdering the Christians and non-Muslims of Nigeria and of southern Africa.

Let the Christians of Nigeria remember, along with Churchill's bleak wisdom, that of the book of Ecclesiastes:

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

"a time to be born and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted.

"a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down and a time to build up...

"a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing..

"a time to rend, and a time to sew, a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

"a time to love, and a time to hate;

"a time of war, and a time of peace".

Seems to me that at this time, in Nigeria, it is a time to speak, and to name and defy evil, rather than to keep silence and give way, and it is a time of war, not a time of peace.

My high schooler has been chronicling this story for a current events class. Apparently, Muslim inhabitants of villages where Christians were massacred received warnings to flee via cell phone.

The instructor said, "rubbish." He then went on to castigate my son for blaming Islam. My son did not blame Islam, he merely presented 11 news articles from around the globe.

I contacted the dhimmi and the principal. I told them my son doesn't control world events or news reports. He just collected data. This instructor is a reform Jew whose big cause is Darfur. I asked him what the difference is...tick, tick, tick.
