There's one line in that debate where Bos is going on about those Muslims who do well in the Netherlands, including "dentists, accountants, mechanics, bakers, and butchers of the future."

Butchers of the future? Unless this is a mistranslation, butchers of the future does sound appropriate for a Muslim majority as they would essentially butcher non-Muslims wherever this might be, regardless of the Netherlands. Thus, Bos' description there is accurate although he wouldn't see it in that way.

Are butchers deeply revered in Holland?

My feeling about this is that BBC news etc, will effectively try to ignore this event all in.

There has obviously been some collusion, between BBC etc and muslim pressure groups.
The evidence, on his last visit, when a (supposedly open),BBC 5live phone in debate, was a complete orchestration, with Mr Wilders, facing detractor after detractor, over 2hrs.
Ex. Ramadan fnd, Mus. Forum, the laughably named Islamic Human Rights etc, re-all the "Usual Suspects" it was so "framed", that i was probably the lone balanced view,(stating importance of retaining freedom of speech etc)...
HOWEVER, it turned into a massive "own goal" as Mr Wilders
literally wiped the floor with them all, so so easily, "not intending offence, but facing facts"
I can t see the BBC/SKY wanting that scenario again....
so my feeling is they will try to ignore,(just like the Trial itself), the event.

That is the crux of the debate concerning Islam & Democracy. And to many, as me, that is the most important issue in the coming elections in Holland.

Wouter Bos in many respects is an excellent man, with excellent policies, like prioritizing good education and work for all young people, including Muslims. In contrast Geert Wilders may favor some bad policies, like preserving 65 as retirement age at all costs and resisting more European cooperation.

But, as an atheist, I presume, Wouter Bos, and his party, should also realise that Islam is just as manmade as the Freedom Party. And he cannot rely just on his own judgment, he is no expert on Islam, its teachings, interpretations, practices worldwide. He may rely in part on Muslims Islam-experts but to balance that he should also rely on the testimony of Islam-experts that believe Islam is manmade.

People should ever more pinpoint the man-made Islamic beliefsystem on its teachings and their consequences in the whole world. It is not good to forever try to exonerate Islam of all bad influences as the Muslims insist, which is what Wouter Bos obeys. In his eyes for the sake of love, respect and unity. Out of fear the good Muslims will turn against us, it is often said!

He wants Muslims to be completely, uncritically, comprehensively FREE to believe in and follow Islam as they interpret it, (and the interpretation must be also totally free for him). Even if it is shown by Islam-experts of Human-origine-variety that there are values and rules in Islam that directly contradict the West's most cherished values & rules.

He wants Muslims to be completely free to follow Islam, even if the loyalty of the Dutch Muslims is not adequately tested, if they favor, in worldwide context, theocratic, dictatorial rules over our cherished democratic rules or not. In the name of love, respect and unity, he refrains to ask them even about their primary loyalties.

It is this failure, or fear, of this otherwise fine politician, that forces me to turn to the Freedom party.

"Fitna" is not an "anti-Koran" film. It is simply a "Koran" film.

There is too much emphasis on crime in that debate. Mr Wilders would be on a safer ground debating the evils of islam and quran and what it means to ordinary Dutch folk in terms of their personal freedoms. People do not automatically associate a criminal with his/her faith and listening to Mr Wilders they will think of him as a racist seeing that he goes on about the Moroccans and Turks.

In Britain, muslims are far too powerful, organised and intimidating than anywhere in Europe. Our politicians, media and academics are completely sold on the idea that islam in the future and a way to go. The anti-Semitic progressives are ruling the roost here.

Feelings are running high about Wilders and his message. See the comments following The Times article. Some call him a hypocrite for wanting to limit freedoms in the name of freedom. This is the crux that so many can't and won't understand. Should we have allowed Nazis freedom to oppress, Communists freedom to jail, and Fascists freedom to torture? There is a line we (Europe and the West) must draw and Wilders is the one to do it.

Bias is obvious throughout The Times article. Regarding Fitna it says,

What is shameful is that simply speaking the plain and obvious truth is villified. The bottom line is we know what it is, exactly, that causes Islamic "youth" to be criminal in their behavior, and what it is that causes Islamic "radicals" to subsist on welfare. It is jihad. Jihad is used to weaken the State. Once the State is too weak to resist armed violence then it brought under the House of Peace. This is a tried and true methodology of Islamic warfare.

I understand the human need to deflect, but what is going on is no secret, made plain by Islamists themselves, and unless we put a stop to it they will gain political power to the point where the Jihad will move forward unimpeded.

I wonder what would have happened if Geert Wilders had replied to Wouter Bos'words: "We believe that Muslims should be free to believe in and practice their religion and be treated absolutely equal with other citizens."

With the following:

I just stopped by the EDL demo. V. depressing - just a small crowd of beery skinheads chanting England football songs. About a third of them couldn't even be bothered leaving the pub along the road from the Tate. I doubt there were more than five people there who could tell you who Geert Wilders is.

The UK is miles away from having a PVV. If the EDL is all that stands in the way of the Islamists then they've got a clear run in.

It seems to me that forbidding the headscarf is as bad as mandating the headscarf. A party calling itself the freedom party should be consistent in its support of freedom.

As for veiling the face, showing only the eyes, and the like, it seems to me that these could legitimately be banned for security reasons.

Geert Wilders' wife - who is of Hungarian origin, and spotted him years ago, when she was an employee of the Hungarian embassy in the Netherlands - must surely qualify as the smartest woman in Europe.

For a UK poster who regularly visits here, one 'Esmerelda Weatherwax', gives a very different, much more detailed and much more heartening account of the pro-Wilders forces and what they did and said.

She was right there in person. She has spoken with people from the EDL and from the March for England.

Her account, with many pictures, is well worth reading, slowly and carefully.

Geert Wilders needs our prayers for safety and protection! Just for proclaiming the truth about Islam his life is in jeopardy. We need many more millions of Geert's in this world, and many millions less of those of the Islam faith.

I am concerned about the numbers of Islamics and the way they are multiplying thruout the world. The numbers concern me very much.
