France will jail and impose huge fines on anyone who forces a Muslim woman to wear a full-face veil, according to a leaked version of a proposed law revealed on Friday.
While women will face only a 150 euro penalty if they choose to don a burqa or a niqab, President Nicolas Sarkozy wants to slap one-year prison terms and USD 20,000 fines on those who make others wear them.
"No-one may wear in public places clothes that are aimed at hiding the face," says the text of a new law that is to be presented to parliament in July, according to a copy seen by the pro-government newspaper Le Figaro.
The law will create a new offence of "incitement to cover the face for reasons of gender," the paper said, and this offence will incur a 15,000 euro fine and a year in prison.
Legislators decided to impose a much smaller fine on women caught wearing the veil in public "because these women are often victims," one of the authors of the law told Le Figaro on condition of anonymity.
Now that's downright unfriendly...If I were a Mahoundian living in France I would consider moving back to Pakistan or Yemen, or Somalia...

Brilliant. Here’s hoping that the law passes. About time we draw the line in the sand with the demanding thugs of this barbaric, backward religion. This could set a wonderful example for other European countries to follow.
Just for fun, this coming Halloween, I think I’ll dress up in a burqa. In one hand I will be holding a plastic machine gun, and in the other hand a copy of the Quran. I wonder if it’ll scare the homeowners and the kiddies alike.

I just got finished watching Taken with Liam Neeson. Talk about a cautionary tale. It was replete with Albanian Muslim prostitution traffickers. How appropriate. Liam took a particularly creative route in dealing with this scum. Alas, we all have to stay within the law. That's why I'm so happy that France has remembered it's roots and stepped up to the plate.

The real problem France and all of Europe has now and in the near future is muslim demographics. They better start worrying about the average of 8-10 children that muslim families are having and outlaw polygomy. An average European family has but 1.5 children. Not enough to keep it going. Wake up Europe! You're disappearing slowly but surely!

Oh yeah - that's definitely the HUGE problem. The burqa's are nothing compared to the over-breeding Mohammedans with their polygamy and child brides.

And Kim, I couldn't agree with you more about Demographic Jihad. A lot of people don't want to hear it though because it might upset their routine. You can see "Muslim Demographics" on the Internet en Mark Steyn talks very sensible about it. But noooooo, it is "not done" to bring it up in conversation or in politics.
I think Demographics should definitely be watched. I heard that Mali, Islamic, now has the highest fertility-rate; 7 children average per woman! Who are often forced to marry at a very young age.
We should promote family planning across the world. In the end we should even dare to say: Hey, what's with the population-explosion, so one-sided in Islam's favor, versus the birth-rate of other groups? Don't Muslims foist far too much children on a world in which there are already so many? Don't they spoil the energy of their nations on too many children? Don't they deprive the firstborns of these children to a very low level of attention and care due the later born children, their very high numbers in comparison with the necessary caring and tax-paying adults? And don't they condemn these firstborns and all the consecutive children to a life of abject poverty?!
And it is precisely often in view of an uncertain future why Westerners often abstain from having children!
But 50 % of people of the world already live in cities. And it is going to be 75 %. And in cities the people up to now always get such a low birth-rate that cities would shrink if they only depended on their own children. The rural areas are providing the growth of the cities and worldpopulation. Let us hope that cities will take care of the demographic jihad. Soon.
Or let's strive for literacy and education and hence economic independence among all women. I heard that that drops their birth-rate dramatically. It recently dropped like a stone in Brazil, I heard. As was already shown in both Western and Easern Europe after WWII.

The concept of ecological footprint should be supplemented with a concept of demographic or reproductive footprint in order to secure both physical and societal (cultural) sustainability.
It should be just as self evident to regulate and try to balance reproductive footprint as ecological footprints in order to avoid a total break down of both systems.
The rational way of solving such problems calls for limiting the right to reproduce in geographical or cultural areas where the reproduction rate is well above the balance level of 2.1 child per woman.
Unfortunately not only religious dogmas calling for maximum reproduction but also capitalism is based on continued growth as a criteria for success and those two obstacles prevent us from from the necessary regulation in both areas.

Excellent—this puts the emphasis *just where it belongs*. I had rather given up on looking to Sarkozy for any sort of move against Islamization in France, but I heartily applaud his actions here.
Now we'll see if the ban in Belgium passes. Hearing this kind of good news out of Europe—at long last—is like a cool drink of water.

I wonder how this law is written. Abusers (psychological term in the study of domestic violence, and Islam caters to abusers of women) blame and make their victims take responsibility for everything the abuser does wrong. If this law does not recognize that, the woman will just (have) to say that she choose to wear it, the small fine will be paid, the man will be off the hook, and will probably punish the woman anyway.
Write to him, and to all French politicians whom you know to be in support of this legislation, and thank them.
But make sure you tell them that, as a citizen of France, you expect that this law will be consistently and resolutely enforced. Tell them that they must be prepared, if necessary, to employ the army to restore public order, should Muslims riot on the grand scale in response to the arrest and fining of slave-masked Muslimahs or of those Muslims who forced said Muslimahs to wear the slave mask. And urge that Muslims who flagrantly and openly show contempt for, and infringe, the laws and customs of France, or incite to such lawbreaking and contempt, should be deported.
