PESHAWAR, Pakistan - Two suicide bombers dressed in burqas blew themselves up Saturday in a camp for refugees fleeing military offensives in northwestern Pakistan, killing 41 people and wounding 62, officials said.The blasts occurred at a food distribution point, but there were conflicting reports whether the victims were lining up for food or being registered. The camp is sometimes used by foreign humanitarian groups, including the World Food Program, to deliver aid.
Meanwhile, the Pakistani army admitted that civilians were killed in an airstrike last Saturday in the northwest that supposedly targeted militants. It did not say how many had died, but apologized in a rare acknowledgment of an error that could help reduce anger among local tribes, whose support it needs to defeat the Taliban and al-Qaida.
The two suicide bombers struck six minutes apart at a camp in the Kacha Pukka area of Kohat, a tribally administered region close to the Afghan border. They were dressed in burqas, the all-encompassing veil worn by conservative Muslim women in parts of Afghanistan and Pakistan, local police official Abdullah Khan said....

Two low-intensity explosions near a packed Chinnaswamy cricket stadium less than an hour before an IPL match left 15 persons including five security men injured and sent nervous crowds running in panic.
The start of the match between the home team Royal Challengers and Mumbai Indians was delayed by an hour and play commenced in the stadium after the police gave an all clear signal. An estimated 35,000 spectators had come to watch the game.
The explosives placed behind a plastic board near the wall outside the stadium, venue for the tie, went off 45 minutes before the start of the match at 4 pm, injuring four police personnel, a private security guard and 10 others, police said. Another small explosion took place near the Stadium.
"Two low inteNsity bombs have exploded. We are investigating ", Joint Commissioner of Police Alok Kumar said.
Three injured policemen were shifted to the ICU of a private hospital. Five persons, whose eardrums were damaged due to the impact of the blast, are undergoing treatment as in-patients, hospital sources said.
Seven others who had suffered bruises were discharged after first aid, sources said.

I read in an article somewhere that an Imam had said that a burqua would never be used by men to hide themselves with suicide bombs because it would be too embarassing for the men to be garbed as a woman....I guess that theory has been blown out the window.
Can we ever trust anyone dressed in such a manner ever again? Anywhere? I think the answer is no. Just one more reason to ban the burqua everywhere in the West.

It does seem like madness to sane people. It *is* madness. But it is not without method. While the Pakistani government does a great deal to enable Jihad–especially against India—it is not "Islamic enough" for the Taliban.
The Pakistani government initially caved to Taliban pressure a couple of years back and virtually ceded the Swat Valley and part of the NW frontier to Taliban power and Shari'ah law. Like all appeasement, this just whetted the Taliban's appetite, and they launched a series of attacks on Pakistani government interests to wring more concessions.
The government—though it shares many "Islamic" goals with the Taliban—finally realized that Taliban power represented a threat to their own survival, and they pushed back.
In addition, the Taliban regards many refugees as "insufficiently Islamic", or they would not have fled the Swat Valley in the first place. If they had been "good Muslims", they would have embraced "Shari'ah". Of course, at this point, many are fleeing the Swat Valley because of attacks from Pakistani government troops, rather than any antipathy to Shari'ah—but nevermind.
With attacks like this, the Taliban likely hope to further weaken confidence in the corrupt Pakistani government, which will be shown incapable of protecting refugees.
In a sane world, actions like this would simply result in hatred of the Taliban—but Islamic Pakistan is *not* a sane place, and this is as likely to increase support of the Taliban there as to weaken it.
These horrific incidents are becoming a regular daily occurrence.
The use of a burqa in a terrorist attack combines many elements of the Islamic faith: modesty, dissimulation, jihad, revenge, martyrdom and barbarism.

I sent an email to the AP and put a copy of it under comments in your article about the recent murders by the man in Chicago. Presently, I don’t have the resources of time or money to leave work, to be able to go to Washington D.C. and protest. But I, like many other Americans, am searching the internet daily for the real news in a state of frustration.
Why don’t we focus our power by sending thousands of emails and telephone calls to news agencies and government officials every time they fail to report the whole story. Americans can’t respond to a story properly if they don’t get the whole truth.

When you report a story, add at the end -who we can email or call if we are displeased with a news services reporting or lack of reporting. How about a goal of sending 10,000 emails and make 10,000 phone calls for each injustice we see. Our greatest chance for success is to get people involved. We are protesting peacefully. Maybe not; the article sort of implies that the bombers were men in disquise, but doesn't definitely say so. Maybe they were women, wearing -- naturally -- burkhas. It wouldn't be the first time the Moslems have used women as suicide-bombers.

We are now regularly informed by Jihad Watch, Islam Watch, Faith Freedom International and many other websites, and media, about what Muslims do, while being educated about their texts, tenets, teachings, (although the interpretations of these are myriad). Very good of these mentioned sites!!!
My hope it is that this information seeps ever more into our own societies. And people in Democratic countries will realise how myopic it is to look only nationally, at Muslims who of course adapt when in minority, instead of looking at Muslims'behavior where they come from.
And how ridiculous in this world-wide-context it is to vilify people like Geert Wilders primarily, who never hurt anybody physically. Who EXPOSES what Muslims do, as JW does, but is then accused of hate-speech, provoking "innocent" Muslims, just to win votes. Nevermind that he does so putting his life in danger.
People who oppose primarily Wilders in this way have such a double standard; maybe because of myopic national look, which is ignorance, or maybe deep down they hold Western people accountable to a fault, while at the same time regarding these Muslim-killers as sub-human, totally unaccountable.
After all, when a male lion kills the young cubs his predecessor sired upon his lionesses, in order to mount them and produce his own cubs, nobody condemns them. Could it be that many Westerners do not equate Islamic killers with Geert Wilders as human beings with exactly the same responsibilities towards mankind? But rather equate them with beasts?
Meanwhile in the other Islamic hellhole, Afghanistan, Our American trained and equipped Afghan police kill a hero African American who had saved 17 lives. They apparently killed him for his assault weapon. Typical actions of Islamo thugs, and remember they are on our side.

Couldn't agree more. Why, it was only last summer I walked past a bus-stop in Kilburn, North London and there was a niquab-clad individual sitting alone on the bench. As I drew close, the head went down and the hands went up to adjust the face-covering. I immediately noticed that the hands were a mans hands, and the coyness was a poor pretence. I just kept moving along, my mind racing. The bus that serves that stop goes to Paddington station...the rest didn't bear thinking about so I was on the phone to the old bill faster than you can say 'Kaboomm' . I don't know what the outcome was. I scarpered. No doubt this sort of thing goes on under our noses every day of the week.
Islam is all about submission and control....and it uses terror, violence, and death to keep the sheep in line...and it has worked for about 1400 years...

In the UK it is now widely requested that motor-cyclists remove helmets before entering a garage shop for payment of gasoline, and in some shopping malls youths wearing hoodies are also asked to remove them. I hope that the time will come sooner rather than later that hijabs will not be allowed and anyone refusing to remove same, will be frog-marched out, but we are making a start. The hijab is a disguise and a statement that 'I am muslim' don't upset me or else, nothing more, nothing less, and is not an islamic requirement. The BNP would do all in their power to stop this and deserve all the votes they can get at the forthcoming election as they are the only party willing to put their money where their mouths are.

Righto-o, London Jim. I saw a strange incident occur at a bus-stop in North Dakota, involving a niquab-clad individual and a male companion. I was staring straight at them as they walked in my direction and they suddenly turned around and walked in the other direction. As this was in the college-area, it could have been part of a sophomoric prank, maybe even a fraternity rush; but, it was weird. I usually am more subtle about letting any one who seems mozoid know that I see them and am aware of them, in any type of situation. Here, I was more obvious in my observation, so maybe that's what sent them away. Its amazing how uncomfortable many of them seem, although I am not the most imposing person in stature or demeanor. Just the fact that I might send signals that I know what they are about is enough to cause them to feel defensive.
