Officials seeing Times Square car bomb as part of international plot

And still the only groups to have praised the attempted attack and claimed responsibility are Islamic. "Officials increasingly see international plot in Times Square bomb attempt," by Spencer S. Hsu, Anne E. Kornblut and Ellen Nakashima for the Washington Post, May 3 (thanks to Sr. Soph):

The failed car bombing in Times Square increasingly appears to have been coordinated by several people in a plot with international links, Obama administration officials said Tuesday.

The disclosure, while tentative, came as the White House intensified its focus on the Saturday incident in New York City, in which explosives inside a Nissan Pathfinder were set ablaze but failed to detonate at the tourist-crowded corner of Broadway and 45th Street.

Emerging from a series of briefings, several officials said it was premature to rule out any motive but said the sweeping, multi-state investigation was turning up new clues.

Separately, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs also characterized the incident for the first time as an attempted act of terrorism. "I would say that was intended to terrorize, and I would say that whomever did that would be categorized as a terrorist," Gibbs said, sharpening the administration's tone.

Another U.S. official, recounting a conversation with intelligence officials, said, "Don't be surprised if you find a foreign nexus. . . . They're looking at some tell-tale signs and they're saying it's pointing in that direction."

Officials cautioned that even if the investigation points toward an international link, rather than domestic or anti-government groups, that does not mean al-Qaeda or another terrorist organization is necessarily involved.

The emerging picture came as police and federal investigators searched for a man in his 40s whom surveillance cameras caught changing his shirt in an alley and looking over his shoulder near where the car was parked about 6:30 p.m., and another person seen running north on Broadway from the area. New York City Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly also said detectives had spoken with the registered owner of the car but revealed no details other than that the man was not a suspect.

Police said the bomb would have created a fireball that likely would have killed or wounded many people, making it the most serious bombing attempt in the United States since the Christmas Day incident aboard a commercial flight bound for Detroit. The investigation has focused on whether an organized group or a determined individual was responsible....

When they finally connect the dots, will the Obama Administration default back to what should have been the obvious? IE Islamic Terrorism. The incident if not a test shows how easy it is to bring a car bomb into a crowded area such as NYC's Time Square. Clearly the Islamic terrorist now know they have accessibility after this incident.

The owner of the SUV has been contacted and says he sold it for cash in Connecticut around a month ago,NFD at this time.

Don't be surprised if you find a foreign nexus. . . . They're looking at some tell-tale signs and they're saying it's pointing in that direction.

It's a damned shame our Moslem Activists from right here in the good old U.S. of A. can't fund and execute their own mass murder attacks. Why all this dependence on foreginers?

*** 92:5 ***

Janet Napolitano wil be bummed if this doesn't turn out to have been attempted by disgruntled veterans of the Army and Marines who served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

She needs to take a page out of Janet Reno's playbood from Oklahoma City. Worked once, so it can made to work again.

"...international links..."

Hmmm, I wonder what these links could possibly be? Doctors Without Borders? Mennonite missionaries? The International Union of Radio Scientists? The International Red Cross?

Thinking...thinking...thinking...Got it! It's Au Pair, that well-known international terrorist agency that sponsors those Scandinavian live-in baby-sitter girls. That must be it. No one would ever guess those blonde, blue-eyed beauties are actually suicide bombers. Perfect cover. We must immediately redirect airport security measures away from Iowa grandmothers to focus on this oh-so-obvious-as-the-nose-on-your-face threat. The scowling young guys from Pakistan or Saudi Arabia? What, are you paranoid or something?

Officials seeing Times Square car bomb as part of international plot
...............

"International"? What could it possibly be? The ELF? Anarchists? The Scientologists? The Illuminati?

More:

And still the only groups to have praised the attempted attack and claimed responsibility are Islamic.
...............

Nope—I'm still not getting anything here..I'm drawing a complete blank...sarc/off

It's actually quite humorous to see the gov't officials pointedly ignore the words "muslim" "jihadist" "islamic" etc. "International" oh that's a good one!

Especially when everyone else (we commoners)is using those words regarding this failed attempt.

Ah, those pesky international links!!! Damn no US Muslim involved in this terrorist ac. They are all so "moderate"!! We have not yet seen any disclosure from the administration about ownership of "Pathfinder" and its license plates. Any bets!!!

WorldNetDaily has posted an interview from yesterday with RevolutionMuslim head creep Younus Abdullah Muhammad in which he warns of more attacks against the US. Doesn't cop to the one on Saturday, but read between the lines of taqiyya and draw your own conclusions.

(I tried to post this at ATLAS but Pam has changed the posting procedure and I can't figure out how to get in.)

Eastview, I see we think alike...

"Janet Napolitano wil be bummed if this doesn't turn out to have been attempted by disgruntled veterans of the Army and Marines who served in Iraq and Afghanistan."

You mean Janet "Incompetano?"

Not that I have much faith in the Leftist appeasement fifth column, I mean the fifth estate, just listened to CTV and the spin right now is HLS dismissing this as a homegrown terrorist with emphasis on NOT mentioning Islam/Jihad/Muslim.

I’ve been to Times Square (last fall), and unless you’re a homegrown terror group with a gripe against a carnival atmosphere and really big screen billboards, my automatic default will be to persons sympathetic to the West’s #1 anti-fan, the Ummah.

And yes, I had a list of every Tim Horton location around, and managed to walk around the square with one in hand.

Far out. Looks like your Administration has even re-defined the word 'intelligence'.

Here is one of Obama's analyst's analysis sheet ;)
"Islam" is a religion of peace - No way an Islamist is involved;
International Link - Israel; Iran; North Korea; Libia; Russia
Terrorist - Jooose

BING!!!! It fits ... Israel's "HaMossad leModi'in uleTafkidim Meyuchadim"

I could tell Hussain Obama - it has Quran and Mohd. written all over it -the attempted bomb attach. The international link some how will stop in Pakistan, our most trusted "Brothers-in-Arm".

What a twisted World we have to live in, thanks to Hussain Inc.

"What a twisted World we have to live in, thanks to Hussain Inc."

I'd say "Islam Inc."

Honestly, I've thought about Islam, and Muhammad and Lenin weren't too different. Both were cults of personality who made people do crazy things for a political religion and kill many people for totalitarianism. Here is what I think the anthem of the Islamic Ummah should be:

Unbreakable of Union of Islamic fascists,
Great Allah has wielded forever to stand!
Created by jihad, by will of the Muslims,
with sword and Koran, o mighty Ummah!

CHORUS:
Be glorious Islamic state, hatred of Jews and Christians is strong!
Paradise of virgins, they're 70 strong!
The cult of Muhammed, strength thru the terrorism,
to Islam's triumph oh blow urself up!

Through tempests the deserts of Islam have charred us
Along the new path where Muhammed did lead!
To a hateful cause he raised up the people
Inspired them to suicide bombing indeed!

(CHORUS)

In the victory of Islam's deadly methods,
We see the future of our dear cult,
And to her fluttering green banner,
selflessly false, we always shall stand!

Spread this meme all over the internet. This is similar to when Communism tried to overthrow capitalism, and Times Square is the epitome of American capitalism.

... that well-known international terrorist agency that sponsors those Scandinavian live-in baby-sitter girls.

Eastview, you got a URL on this organization? Some of my Moslem Man friends would be terribly interested in having their babies cared for.

No, No, No. You folks should be ashamed of yourselves. This could NOT be in any way connected to Islamic Jihad. By "international" the O man's administration is clearly thinking HLI which stands for Human Life International. This is a subversive pro-life organization run by a priest and chock full of priests, nuns, and devout Catholic lay people. Why that SUV had "large Catholic family" written all over it. Check the cupholders for juice boxes and the DVD player for Gregorian Chant. Rosary beads hanging from the rear view mirror, I bet!!

I laugh and joke now but this ItaloAmerican RC gal thinks if Obama could get away with it the only Catholics he would NOT intern would be the lefties.

It's a little early in the investigation yet; but they NEVER tell us ALL they know at a given time. My conclusion, thus, is that they're "breaking us in" for the unpleasant reality (for them, i.e., Obama, Incompetano, CAIR, et al) that the "international links" lead right to you-know-who. So they'll water it down, prevaricate, minimize, let it out in driblets, in full damage control-mode.
This is what happens when your (our) government is in bed with the enemy. As enablers & abettors they share the guilt of the perps themselves. As stakeholders, they have to defend themselves. But they're running out of excuses--for both themselves and their ROP friends...

They jumped the gun.....Initial reports stated that it looked like the guy in the camera was described as a white male in his 40's.
They were obviously thinking they could blame a white militia or TEA party activist....then the "International" connections became obvious, and by then, it was too late.

A less than consistently wide awake "right wing" radio talk show host in our area speculated today that "something like the Michigan Militia" might be behind the Times Square attack. I called the station and referred the screener to the RevolutionMuslim video of themselves in the Square on Saturday and the WorldNetDaily interview with Abdullah Muhammad yesterday. So far it hasn't been mentioned.

What the hell "something like the Michigan Militia" would be doing bombing a street corner in Times Square -- to express their anger at the government? at "The Lion King"? at New York traffic (now that I can understand) -- is beyond me. (Unless they wanted to punish some of those shameless little jezebels prancing along the street disobeying the Command of the Lord to be good submissive wives and mothers first and foremost -- whoops, I forgot, only Islam ever thinks that way, hmmm?)

RevolutionMuslim of recent "South Park" notoriety turning up filming themselves smack in the middle of the Square on Saturday -- you can see the mounted cop who sounded the alarm about the car ride by at one point -- and boasting the next day about how that was "just the beginning" is starting to sound like somebody is missing a connection here. We were assured they were all talk and no action. Do THEY know that?

"Officials seeing Times Square car bomb as part of international plot" that means that could be islamic ops i meant to say misunderstanders of islam terrorist but it's impossible everybody (from the prez to the loony lefty cousin) is telling America and the whole world that islam is the religion of peace (tm)

Robert Gibbs might, just might, be the stupidest person in the entire federal government.

Bet NYC is sure glad that evil cowboy Bush is gone and we have world-apologist-in-Chief Barack Hussein handling national security.

Only one of the many terrorist attacks on his watch inside the country have succeeded so far.

Maybe someone should paint FORT HOOD on the White House gate?

As a double entendre.

FWIW - I GOTTA believe that the cops are onto the perp. The guy was obviously not smart, and the dumb ones are usually pretty easy to catch.

"Robert Gibbs might, just might, be the stupidest person in the entire federal government."

I dunno, Wellington, Janet Napolitano would surely give him a run for his money. Would love to see a Jeopardy match with Robert and Janet to decide who is stupider. They'd need a third contestant, though, someone of comparable intellect. Maybe Wolf Blitzer.

Whats disturbing is that the perps obviously weren't that smart, but they WERE still able to get the vehicle into position. If they had not botched the explosives, they would have had a successful mission - just like the Christmas day bomber Abdulmutallab.

So that begs the question how is it that the underwear bomber and these clowns were able to get past security. if they were so dumb they can't make bombs that actually blow up, how are they getting past all of our safeguards that are supposed to detect this sort of thing? And what happens when someone who is smart enough to make a real bomb tries to get through those same safeguards?

Just to let you know how German state-run media reported this story tonight (after the ususal firsties and secondies "no terrorist-connection" - "Taliban claimed responsibility" routine):

"Police are looking for a white man..." showing the vid how this "man" changes his clothes.

Nothing about converts. Although high profile German convert and Mujaheed Eric Breininger today met his raisins in hell kudos to some Pakistanis in Pakistan - or should I better say kudos to some American drones?

"Sources tell CBS News the last registered owner of the 1993 Nissan Pathfinder - found in Times Square Saturday night - told authorities he recently sold the vehicle to a "Middle Eastern" or "Hispanic" looking man for $1,300 cash in $100 bills on Craigslist."

Don't worry, folks—the Obama administration is getting tough. Uh—unfortunately, it's getting tough with...British Petroleum.

Now, I don't mean to make light of the catastrophic oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico—or the lives lost in the rig's explosion, believe me. And it may indeed turn out that the accident was the result of criminal negligence on BP's part—in which case, I want them held to account.

On the other hand, Robert Gibbs said—speaking for the White House—"We will keep our boot on the throat of BP". Does anyone else find this phrasing deeply disturbing? And that it was used not to describe the administration's approach to America's enemies, but to a civilian company operating here entirely legally, seems—at best—oddly misplaced.

We don't know who done it, there are theories about an international plot, maybe the Vatican is behind it or the World Buddhist Organisation, the usual suspect is Mossad, of course and all the Zionists in the world who were behind 9/11 as everybody knows. But how dare you suspect any Islamic group? Islam is the religion of peace(TM)!

Just think of the Islamic prophet for a moment. He loved children so much that he even married a child. can there be greater love? And he was so nice to the Jews in Yathrib and got them a ticket to eternity. Do you really think his innocent adherents are capable of such a terrible crime? You must suffer from a terrible mental disease which is called Islamophobia. But it can be cured. Consult your local imam. You'll get a nice brainwash, completely free of charge.

And let's not forget Larry King, Eastview. Between the government and MSM, there are certainly enough choices, that's for sure. Say, did I mention Joe Biden?

Robert Gibbs drives me nuts...his picture is beside GLIB in the dictionary.

I won't be posting on this site any longer.

I don't expect you to care about that, but I want you to know why.

The "straw that broke the camel's back" occurred on the KFC thread. If you choose to see what happened , please make sure you go back to my original post that started "I gave up reading this drivel" (a phrase I'm sure you'll be tempted to run with) and read on from there to the end. It's a real eye opener about some of your fellow posters.

Here's the link: http://www.jihadwatch.org/2010/04/kentucky-fried-chickens-website-for-denmark-hacked-with-subliterate-prating-about-offending-islam.html

Meanwhile here are parts of & whole posts of mine from that thread.

.......I'm, complaining about feeling like I'm somehow invisible on this board and I've about had enough.
One would think that we would all try to UNITE & FIGHT together, support each other, welcome new guests and be inclusive, limit arguments & find common ground and happily receive new supporters and make them feel like they're part of something worthwhile.
Frankly, I'm sick to death of the bickering, the cliques and the lack of inclusion.
Rant off, I'm done.
Sorry, I just couldn't ignore it anymore.

***********************

Let me be clear....
I do not have a problem with disagreements, they are natural and necessary. I am a champion of free speech and have paid the price for that, many times.
I do have issues with:
1) Senseless bickering

2) Forgetting the reasons for being together on this site & probably why it was created in the first place

3) Ignoring people who are simply trying to help you support a common cause

4) cliques

5) Intellectual snobbery

6) People who enjoy being cruel

It's intimidating enough to venture onto a forum where there are professional writers of great merit and other people who obviously pride themselves with being intellectually superior and who post fabulous articles. I'm sure many people continue to just lurk for those reasons & I don't blame them. It can be overwhelming.

But, add the issues I've listed and you'll see why you could be losing valuable support that you desperately need.

I'm no internet lightweight, I've posted regularly on some of the biggest sites out their and have never felt as alienated by a group as I do here. I have made monumental efforts to become a part of this group, but must admit failure.

That's how I see it, take it or leave it, either way I will not be offended anymore.

***********************

In the 4 or 5 months I've tried posting here and attempted to connect with this group 3 (yes only 3) people (2 of them in the last 2 weeks) made an effort to either respond to one of my comments or answer a question of mine.

Thankyou, "Eastview" and "Isabellathecrusader" & "Kaffir_Kanuck". ....."Demsci" was the only person who attempted to respond to my complaint on the "KFC" post. I'm sure you all realize how grateful I am for your kindness.

To the rest of you, cheers and may you succeed in your endeavor.

Wellington : "Robert Gibbs might, just might, be the stupidest person in the entire federal government."

He's up against some stiff competition.

I'm sorry you feel that way, Free Agent. For what it's worth, the blow-out argument on the KFC thread was *very unusual*, and a lot of people were disappointed by it.

By the way, though, you *were not* "invisible" on that thread—Champ replied to your comments.

I think many of us have had the experience of weighing in with some comment we consider especially salient, and then having it pass uncommented—I imagine, though, in many cases that does not mean that it went unread or unappreciated.

As for Hesperado copying you—I doubt this was the case. When he posted, he specifically mentioned that he had not had a chance to read all the comments—I doubt he had had a chance to read yours at the time.

I do try to read all the posts on a thread before commenting for just that reason—but I have posted at times, and then found that someone said almost the same thing, well before I did—not intentional, I assure you.

There are exceptions, of course, but overall I find the comments here thoughtful and intelligent. I am in fact generally heartened that there are such a wide range of readers and posters here—from the US, from Britain and Canada and Australia. For some posters, English is not their first language—unless the poster has something particularly ugly to say, people are usually respectful.

You wrote:

The endeavor here—fighting Jihad—is *very important*. If you do decide this group is not for you, I hope you find some other way to keep abreast of what is happening, and find your own way to fight.

However, I do hope you decide to stay. I have generally found your comments to be thoughtful and well worth reading.

Dear FA,

For what it's worth, I'm disappointed that you're choosing to leave & I hope you'll reconsider.

I came here several months ago after hearing Mr. Spencer on a popular local radio talk-show.
He was just thoroughly impressive & mentioned this site. I lurked here for a couple of months before working-up the nerve to post. And sure enough, Undaunted came back & told me I was off the mark! I defended myself in a nice way & slunk away! "Welcome to the Majors, Mr. Hobbs!" (BTW, Undaunted is a straight-ahead serious muslim-fighter--check out his blog!)

Yes, there are cliques here. But these are folks who've shared their thoughts & ideas for YEARS and have come to know one another in this venue. They've all paid their dues-- we're just rookies here! For me, it's an opportunity to interact with folks who understand what we're up against. There are very few of those among my personal friends & acquaintances.

Yes, that "Denmark" thread got ugly. But we have folks here who aren't into taking much crap & things can get edgy. But these are the same people you want in YOUR foxhole when the crap smacks the fan blades! Notice that those folks are all posting peacefully here again.
We all know who the real enemy is!

Final thought: Earlier today I made a brief comment on an "Israel" thread. Both Hugh and Gravenimage were kind enough to answer with information & links to even more. I'm nobody here, they didn't have to take the time to teach me up, but they did just that. If they would do that for me, they (and others here) would most surely do that for you, too.

Lower your expectations, don't worry about cliques, put on your thick skin, continue to express yourself, stand up & be counted! We need all the good folks we can get in this fight!

And my prayers are with you in your fight for your health...

Jorge
