Islamabad, Pakistan (CNN) -- Pakistan has test-fired two ballistic missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads, the military said Saturday.
Both the Shaheen-1, which can hit a target 400 miles (650 kilometers) away, and the Ghazvani, with a range of 180 miles (290 kilometers), were fired successfully, Pakistan military officials said.
Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, who witnessed the event with several senior military officials, said that the nation had developed a strong nuclear deterrence capability, according to a government statement.
He said that Pakistan's armed forces were "fully capable of safeguarding Pakistan's security against all kinds of aggression," according to the statement.
Gilani mentioned last month's Nuclear Security Summit hosted by President Obama in Washington, an event aimed at enhancing international cooperation to prevent nuclear terrorism. Much of the event focused on Iran's nuclear program, which has drawn deep concerns from the West.
However, the international community also has had concerns about the stability of the Pakistani government and the security of its nuclear arsenal, questioning whether it's safe from the hands of the Taliban.
Gilani on Saturday said the world can now move "beyond safety and security concerns," the statement said. "These were laid to rest at the Nuclear Security Summit where Pakistan forcefully projected a forthright stance on the issue and the world expressed satisfaction at Pakistan's nuclear security arrangements."
Estimates of Pakistan's nuclear arsenal currently range from 60 to 100 weapons. It first declared its status as a nuclear power in 1998, testing five bombs in an exchange with its south Asian archrival, India.

But he does not mention how this test of a missile meant solely to kill the infidels has suddenly and magically ensured all that. We are supposed to take him at face value. Regrettably for him, we now know better and will take him at double face value, like with all the followers of Islam.
No way, Gilani. The world is unable to be lulled into a false sense of security just because you wish it that way.
This only means that the jihadis have a better tested infidel-financed weapon available to them when ever they need it.
One thing very revealing about the Pak missile program are the names of their various missile projects. The above one is Ghaznavi - meaning 'of Ghazni', which is in Afghanistan, certainly not Pakistan. Why? B'cos it's supposed to commemorate Mahmoud of Ghazni, who invaded India 17 times, massacred thousands of Hindus, and destroyed 100s of temples. Other missile projects of Pak - again, all named after Afghan/Turkic conquerors - include Ghori, which is a long range ballistic missile, and Abdali. In future, look forward to missiles named after Tamerlane and Babur, if there ain't already.
In other words, Pakistan's source of inspiration is Muslim conquerors of India: their goal, unobstructed, would be the destruction of Hindus, Sikhs and others, and resurrection of the Moghul empire. Fighting Taliban is the last thing on their minds - the Taliban is today's equivalent of Mahmoud of Ghazni, Mohammed Ghori, Tamerlane, Babur or Ahmad Shah Abdali.
Please let Pakistan use their nuclear arsenal, please let them misfire and explode on the launch pads.

The Prime Minister or any other civilian authority in Pakistan do not have real power. Army controls everything. Americans are also aware but refuse to acknowledge publicly because they have to side with India even if they are not willing for that. An anti Pakistan stance by US will be viewed as Pro Indian stand by Pakistanis.( The brilliant chinese will cash in on these feelings) Pakistanis suffer from inferiority complex since separated from India and to overcome they can think of only one strategy, i.e., to dominate India militarily. It is not possible so they invoke Islam and attack India through terrorism. Pak public feel elated when India is attacked by terrorists as all other means to prove they are superior to India have failed. Now back to American dilemma. Only after that Idiot-bomber episode Mrs Clinton is openly threatening Pakistan of dire consequences. During her last south asian visit she was advising to India to solve all our problems through talks. But when it comes to Times Square issue she is not ready for talks with Pak. Only warning!. Dialogue and all such stuff are only for the third rate indian politicians - not for Americans! The only way to contain jihad is to contain Pakistan Army. Only U.S. can make pakistan army subservient. U.S must tell Pak army to wage war against India if they have guts or to keep shut and avoid sponsoring all types of terrorism in India. Army officers and soldiers get involved in terrorist activities under the garb of hard-core islamic movements.
In short, weakening Pak Army will strengthen peace in the region and will pave way for an escape route for US troop from South Asia. (Unfortunately, the quality of leadership is beginning to fall in U.S. also like that in India, Pak, Bangladesh).

I expect some accidents have already occurred in the Iranian program that we've not heard of. I Recall the one in Syria where a bunch of, 35? North Koreans died when a work accident took them out with the contents of a chemical warhead. They were trying to mount it on some primitive but fairly effective missile. Yes? I'm not searchin' the net for this.

India is the antidote to Pakistan. Her arsenal stands at 45-80 nukes, but with vastly superior ballistic missile and delivery systems. If push comes to shove I believe India can run circles around Pakistan in a direct conflict. No doubt about it.

There is no aggression from India. There are no Hindu terrorist groups in India that plot and plan and attack inside Pakistan. There are no people in India who dream and scheme about seizing parts of Pakistan. Non-Muslims in India have had to endure Pakistan-based attacks on Kashmir, on the business center, Mumbai, on many hundreds of other targets, most never reported outside India itself, and even on the Parliament building in Delhi.
What does Pakistan mean when its leaders talk about warding off "aggression"? The aggression is entirely that of Muslims against non-Muslims, and any hostility between India and Pakistan would end tomorrow if Pakistan stopped supporting Lashkar-e-Toiba and a dozen other groups whose aim is not only to put all of Kashmir under Muslim control, but ultimately -- there is nothing in the Qur'an about stopping with "Kashmir" as there is nothing about stopping with "the West Bank" -- to recover all the lands once under Muslim rule, and that means almost all of India.
And even that, the recovery of lands once under Muslim rule at some time in the past, merely constitutes is at the top of the Muslim To-Do List. In Europe that To-Do List includes the Iberian Peninsula, Greece and the Balkans, Bulgaria, Rumania, much of Hungary, and much of southern Russia.

They gave a nuclear warhead design to NoKorea, and gave both the warhead design and centrifuge designs to Iran.
Once Pakistan is in a position to do so, it will play the game of nuclear blackmail to extort money from the world (arguably, it's already started playing this game.)

The entire western world needs to wake up and disarm the east by force while it is still capable, the west needs to adopt this world domination idea for the ultimate good of the planet. What good is the idea of mutually assured destruction when your enemy actively wants to die in battle, the sooner the better?
Be it Britain, Europe or America the people don't want Islam. Our 'elites' are the problem, they are incompetence personified and they lack even the most basic understanding of the nature of the enemy that has already engaged us. Worse than that, they severely underestimate it.
The first step for Britain when I am Prime Minister :) will be an immediate rollback of "political correctness" I will repeal the European human rights laws that are hamstringing us and I will remove the right to vote or hold positions of power from any group deemed disloyal or hostile to the UK. This is the start, mass deportations of illegals and foreign born hostiles will then follow, as will mandatory death sentences for British passport holding traitors. The aim is to make life safe again for the native British and our valued, peaceful and loyal ethnic minority groups.
Military policies will include immediately pulling troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan as these countries are inconsequential and not worth the risk to life of even one coalition soldier, let alone thousands. Then we'll make defence spending a priority again and regroup to deal decisively and conclusively with the countries that do (or are preparing to be able to) actually pose a viable threat to world stability.
Of course it goes without saying that for us the priority here is troop welfare, they will be equipped to the highest possible standard. In the unavoidable cases of injury, forces personnel will be entitled to the best available medical care and rehabilitation. Military pensions and death benefits to dependants will become liveable, not subsistence level income.
