Pakistan directs ISP's to block Facebook because of Motoon competition

m6.jpeg

Why draw Muhammad? Why make fun of the man Muslims revere most? Why arouse their ire?

Precisely because they react with murderous rage when one does this.

Now that may seem odd -- why would anyone want to provoke someone else's murderous rage?

Because it is an object lesson in pluralism. Either we put up with being offended by one another, or we enact speech codes that establish one group as beyond criticism. The latter road is the path to authoritarianism and tyranny. To respond to speech one considers offensive without threats and murder is a cardinal element of a society that respects all its citizens enough to allow them a voice in the public square, no matter how despised and hated their opinions may be. So free speech is a key element of any society in which all people are equal before the law.

And now when free speech is under serious attack both Stateside and internationally, and a key battlefield in the war against it is so-called "Islamophobia" and the Muhammad cartoons, it is essential to stand up and say that it is madness to threaten and kill over a cartoon drawing. And to stand for free speech whatever the risks.

Fear of Free Speech Alert: "ISPs directed to block Facebook's blasphemous link," from The News International, May 18 (thanks to Block Ness):

KARACHI: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has directed the Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to close a Facebook's link about the competition of the blasphemous caricatures.

A caricature competition is being held on May 20 at a link of the www.facebook.com under a plot to hurt the millions of Muslims around the world.

The PTA, taking notice of this attempt, has asked the ISPs to ensure the blockage of this particular link of the facebook website.

Also, on Facebook, this:

Fuck the organizers of draw Mohammed day. May they BURN IN HELL (INSHALLAH)

Your bodies will burn in fire in your graves and then in hell. We Muslims, can't even think of saying or doing the same for your Prophets because we respect that all Prophets were send by Allah Almighty. You should be ashamed of yourselves YOU BLOODY PIG EATERS.

Meanwhile, you can join in the fun Thursday here. And post your drawings to the SIOA page also.

Has anybody checked with the Islamic Scholars at Al Azhar University about this? Is it ok to do this? Until some dude with a scraggly beard with drool in it has weighed in I dunno. Maybe Prez Obama or his Press Secretary should give a word to let us know what we can and cannot do here.

I can't draw, so I asked someone here to draw a cartoon showing muhammad singing "Thank Heaven for Little Girls". The person promised, but suddenly he can't deliver.

Is there anyone here willing to pick up the idea?

The setting of that performance can vary. For example, entering or leaving his tent just after or before ravishing the terrified Aisha. He may also perform (mike in his hand) to a crowd of arab warriors, or sneaking on an innocently grazing young (very young) donkey/goat/camel.

Anyway, if there is someone interested in making a drawing based on the idea of singing mohammed please go ahead!

I found a group on there promoting "boycott FB on May 20th". Like that will do anything, lol.

I can't wait for May 20th, looking forward to having a good laugh :)

Yes, I too can not wait for the day when it becomes fashionable for me to denigrate religious figures or hold up racist caricatures and call them "art". Why, I remember a jihadwatch post back a year and some change where Robert gleefully defended a fireworks maker for marketing a firework called "Run Hadji Run" that featured artwork of a stealth bomber dropping its payload on camel riding bedouins. Yes, I'm sure that the fireworks company was trying to make a free speech statement about Islam there...

Seriously, do you guys go to the watercooler at work and pass around images of mammies or step and fetch its? I certainly pray that a majority of you are very very vocal about your support for bigoted drawings as it makes you more closely aligned with the KKK or propaganda outfits like al-Manar than it does with the guardians of free speech. Continue with this spirited defense of "free speech". I eagerly await the egg on your collective bigoted faces.

First let us see if Facebook allows it at all or they do the blocking for Muslims !

There are now over 400 cartons, posters, and pictures on the Facebook site. Some are offensive, but many make very profound statements about the evils of Islamic ideology. If Muhammad is the "good example" in Surah 33:22, it must be in fighting and striking terror in the People of the Book which is the context of Surah.

Gerbil tea wrote....'Yes, I too can not wait for the day when it becomes fashionable for me to denigrate religious figures or hold up racist caricatures and call them "art".

After they've killed people for writing anything 'critical' of Islam, the idea of a cartoon of Mohammed with a bomb fuse in his turban is hardly the vulgar hate filled act you portray it, and similarly the mo the dog cartoon is similarly after 15,000 homicidal slaughterings of infidels just since 9/11 is hardly the indiscretion you imply.

And of course the ongoing attempt to put up a 15 story mosque at 9/11's hole in the ground is hardly the benign sweetness that calls for kumbayah, anymore than a christian church at auschwitz or a japanese shinto temple at Pearl harbor would be seen as an abomination amonst civilized humans.

No... your argument only suggest 'infidels' may never do any insulting or denigration... and yet I think I'd prefer another work myself. I'd like to see all the beheadings, by Islam, the drive by shootings worldwide against infidels by Islammand expecially those by youngsters who behead 'infidel's on TV with an ad that says... 'So this is the religion of peace'?
Yes.... and the quote of Mo's before his miserable death that declared all of arabia would be forever free of jews and christians.

You're right.... let's be fair and tell the truth in a civilized manner

Since Muslims en masse are the only followers of a major creed that throw hissy fits when their religion is criticized, they and their religion deserve to be mocked. Besides, there is so much rot in Islam which is not found in other religions, for instance Islamic religious law treating non-believers as the equivalent of human waste or Mohammed in his fifties bedding a nine-year old girl (this alone disqualifies him from ever being respected by people of sense; I don't think Muslims understand with what revulsion Mohammed is held in by millions of non-Muslims).

There is nothing good in Islam which cannot be found in other religions or ethical systems and yet there are many horrible things in the religion which cannot be found anywhere else. Islam deserves to be criticized and mocked first and foremost because it is wickedness posing as goodness. And nothing you or any other person says can change this. That's what's really eternal about Islam.

People whose reaction to things is "you'll be sorry because my god will punish you" and "my god will send you to a terrible place where you will hurt forever and ever" are pathetic little children who have never grown up. Of course some of them are also nasty little bullies who need a very long Time Out until they get over it.

GerbilTea, if you find a shoe in there that fits, wear it with my compliments. During WWII we caricatured Hitler and Hirohito and Il Duce. They had earned it. So has Islam.

I'm posting mine at IBA. But thanks for the link, google.

Muslims are historically used to having their way all over Asia and Africa, steamrollering cultures under the Mohammedan juggernaut, but the West will be a tougher nut to crack, one they will break their teeth on. Seems like we've got an awful lot of stubborn people who value freedom of expression. In actuality, few people in the West care enough about Islam to draw Mohammed, but Muslims' "murderous rage" cried out for a response. Yes, they've been asking for it, and now they're getting it.

They're threatening to kill people over a cartoon. A cartoon.

Why don't they just forgive people?

Guess they don't really believe in that. Nor do they seem to have a place for irony, criticism or satire.

They say they would never make fun of prophets in other religions. Well, they have, and they have killed people in other religions.

Let's just let them have total control over free speech. As for people who don't even belong to their religion, let's give them control over that too.

What a great country Pakistan is... lots of freedom they extend to their people...

Oh, poor Gerbs, are you outraged? Muslims planting bombs in Times Square. Muslims shooting-up military bases. Muslims on planes with bombs in their little panties. Muslims twisting our laws to allow and excuse their brutal practices. Muslim honor-killings and beheadings--right here in River City. And now the grand bitch-slap; muslims who want to build a monument to their murderers-in-arms on the site of their atrocity--in fact, on the site of a building MUSLIMS destroyed!

And you're offended by CARTOONS? Be gone, fool!

I guess the idea that your version of the Lord Jesus Christ is a gross insult and defamation of the true God doesn't enter your puny mind. Christians could be just as vicious and violent over the error mohammedans teach and believe about Jesus. But they aren't, because our Lord can take care of Himself. "Vengeance is mine; I will repay," says the Lord.

The teaching about Jesus Christ by the cult of mohammedism is a vile, horrific insult. He's not a prophet only, He is God of very God Who died for the sins of the whole world. The Koran teaches that non-muhammedans are not quite equal human beings. The teachings of the Koran and a man named muhammed speak to and appeal to all the grossest, debased human lusts and appetites imaginable, such as revenge. Whereas, in total contradiction to human reason and nature, Christians are taught to forebear and to forgive those that wrong them.

Please don't lecture me about racism, hate speech, or bigotry, when you and your religion are perpetrators of that very thing. It's just you are so arrogant that you cannot perceive it.

When Muslims throw insults because of insults, their argument is completely nullified.

GT,

For a cost of around twenty dollars you can go to Amazon and buy two DVD's, in fact I'd recommend them to all, doubters and onsiders alike.

They are Farewell Israel and Obsession, both masterly expose's of the real Islam, the one which the MSM and our opinion formers won't tell us about.

In both you'll find clips of imams exhorting the faithful to rise up, kill the Jews, kill the Kuffar, kill the Great Satan whilst the crowds at these gatherings are going wild.

All blame for their states of poverty and global powerlessness is never their fault, always those aforementioned Jews, Kuffar and the Great Satan.

This type of religious power politics goes on across the ME, Pakistan, anywhere where Islam dominates.

Compared with our albeit slightly malicious humour the hatred spewed forth has nothing comical about it in their eyes. It is deadly serious.

And as such, rightly deserves to be mocked.

We're not threatening them, merely watching these buffoonish antics, then dealing with them via humour and satire.

I'm there, with bells on, already.

And I'll be posting up what I have of "Brash Monkey" on Thursday. Already posted up "The Unicorn's Image".

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Darwins-Outcasts/123113891047140?v=wall

I do not have to respect Muhammed, a mass-murdering pedophile, any more than I have to respect Attila the Hun or Genghis Khan.

Muhammed is much worse than either since his vicious cult extends to the present time.

Draw a cartoon of Stalin or Pol Pot, if you'd like Gerbil Tea. Just don't criticize us for having fun at the expense of a ... genocidal maniac.

Muslims have themselves denigrated whole peoples like the Israeli's/ Jews, the Americans, and many of their leaders and prominent people. As is the way of us humans.

But they want Muhammad to be the exception of being even criticized, let alone insulted. And they have sought to achieve this with violence and intimidation. This is one-sided, religio-centred, arrogant and abuse of power.

They have cultivated huge praise for Muhammad and have elevated him to a holy status. Through this arrogant and extreme idolization they have made themselves needlessly very vulnerable to anguish when this man is treated like any other other human can be treated, in the human way.

Such idolization of necessity cannot be the highest truth mankind is capable of finding about Muhammad and his teachings and Muslims have deliberately or thoughtlessly preferred the "holy myth" over seeking the truth above all else.

They mostly have not even tolerated respectful, thoughtful criticism about drawbacks of this mans personality and behavior or logical and factual fallacies in his teachings.
With the excuse that he was sent by God delivering HIS message.

So now they should be punished for this arrogance, neglect of truth-seeking, with an avalanche of attacks on this idolized man.

And these attacks can never balance in a just way the excessive undeserved massive praise for this man, in comparison to the rest of history's great leaders. Whatever criticism/ insults on him is given in this era is only small long overdue compensation.

Mankind should collectively investigate this man and after knowing and understanding him as truthful and best it can move beyond his memory eventually.

Well, GerbilTea's takin' quite a whoopin' here. Good. Very deserving of it. And one thing GerbilTea should understand above all and it's this: More and more folks are learning about the true Islam and the true Mohammed and they will not be silenced by being called haters, bigots, Islamophobes, blah, blah, blah. Trying to smear critics of Islam with ad hominem attacks will prove less and less effective as time goes on. Might as well tell someone he's a bigot because he criticizes or mocks Nazism.

"Fuck the organizers of draw Mohammed day. May they BURN IN HELL" ...

Ah, speaking of hell ...

That's where all false prophets go after they die, so that's where muhammad is right now.

Here's my entry:
http://www.sermonsfromseattle.com/images/goats_07.gif

(muhammad is pictured on the left)

Sorry if this truth about muhammad is too hot for some of you to handle -- nevertheless, that's where muhammad will be spending eternity.

"Well, GerbilTea's takin' quite a whoopin' here."

Which is why I hate to kick a dog while hes down ...

Regardless, you must understand that muhammad deserves these types of images depicting him, because they are HONEST images; especially this one, showing muhammad with a bomb on his head since muhammad was a terrorist and mass-murderer.

You may call muhammad a religious leader, but I call him a rebellious leader. He lived his life wholly and completely contrary to God, so all he did was lead a rebellion against Him. Shame on those who fell for it.

Might as well tell someone he's a bigot because he criticizes or mocks Nazism.

..or calls a jury bigoted because it sentences an, inspired by the example of muhammad, child rapist to life imprisonment.

*~@):~{>

Ecce homo- cidal.

If you go to the "Draw Mohammad Day" home-page on Facebook, he has a screen-cap where someone wrote spoof lyrics to "I Kissed Mohammad, and I Liked It."

"Your bodies will burn in fire in your graves and then in hell."

Not unless someone lights my last fart.

There is also another event that day in facebook :"Everyone place a photo of Muhammad as their profile pic day!! :)"
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Everybody-Draw-Mohammad-Day-May-20th-2010/120352401315688#!/event.php?eid=112765508762701
I am searching for the most funny cartoon of mohammed in the web ;)

Did you know that in pakistan this website, faith freedom, answering islam, and lots of other sites are also banned. Im a pakistani so I know. Im using a proxy

Very good answer, but I'm afraid that MM (Muslim moron) won't understand. BTW the cartoon I like most is the one with Mo warning the suicide bombers that they ran out of virgins in paradise. Everything is a matter of supply and demand. All the best to you and your family.

Specially for GerbilTea

The letter that Rowan Atkinson, aka Mr Bean, wrote to the Times of London, in October 2001 (note well the date) at a time when when the iniquitous Religious and Racial Hatred Act first loomed upon the horizon in the UK.

It was carefully copied and kept by jihadwatch regular 'Shiva', and shared by him? her? here in 2007; at which time I made a copy, to keep in my 'Islamophobia' /sarc/ file.

Here it is. I regard it as a model of commonsense.

Rowan Atkinson's letter to The Times of London

'
RELIGION AS A FIT SUBJECT FOR COMEDY

'From Mr. Rowan Atkinson

'Sir, I hope that I am not the only person in the creative arts who feels great disquiet about the proposals outlined by the Home Secretary in the Commons today, to introduce legislation to outlaw what has been described as 'incitement to religious hatred' (reports, October 16).

'Having spent a substantial part of my career parodying religious figures from my own Christian background, I am aghast at the notion that it could, in effect, be made illegal to imply ridicule of a religion or to lampoon religious figures.

'Supporters of the proposed legislation would presumably say that neither I, nor any of my colleagues in the comedy world, are its intended targets, but laws governing highly subjective or moral issues tend to drag a very fine net, and some of the most basic freedoms of speech and expression can get caught up in it.

'I have always believed that there should be no subject about which one cannot make jokes, religion included.

'Clearly, one is always constricted by contemporary mores and trends because, after all, what one seeks above all is an appreciative audience.

' However, would a film like 'Monty Python's Life of Brian,' criticized at the time of its release for being anti-Christian, be judged under the proposed law?

'Or that excellent joke in 'Not the Nine O'Clock news' all those years ago, showing worshippers in a mosque simultaneously bowing to the ground with the voiceover: 'And the search goes on for the Ayatollah Khomeini's contact lens'?

'Not respectful, but comedy takes no prisoners.

'However, in period and in context it was extremely funny and I believe that it is the reaction of the audience that should decide the appropriateness of a joke, not the law of the land.

'For telling a good and incisive religious joke, you should be praised.

'For telling a bad one, you should be ridiculed and reviled.

'The idea that you could be prosecuted for the telling of either is quite fantastic.'

'Yours faithfully,
'
ROWAN ATKINSON
 - October 15 [2001]'.

Musslims are also posting pics and commenting in the Facebook group. Death threats are being thrown around like confetti. Yesterday, for a few hours, 4 or 5 photos of pig carcasses in various states of evisceration and dismemberment were posted with the subtitle:'this is what happens to those who insult Islam.'Personally, I think compared with that the crudest and most vicious images lampooning Islam pale into insignificance.

Over in another thread, I posted links to, and excerpts from, two excellent David Thompson articles on the nature of the Muslim pantomime of victimhood which is employed in order to try to suppress, in the non-Muslim word, the criticism of Islam.

I shall repeat those postings in this thread: especially since we have just heard the Mohammedan, GerbilTea, feebly attempting to play the 'racist' and 'bigot' cards.

Here is the link for Thompson's mini-essay "It's OK to Dislike Islam".

http://davidthompson.typepad.com/davidthompson/2007/03/intimidation_re.html

It was discussed at jihadwatch here:

http://www.jihadwatch.org/2007/03/its-okay-to-dislike-islam.html

For those who don't like clicking on links, here is the first half of Mr Thompson's mini-essay. It is brilliant.

"...the BBC reports that the editor of the satirical magazine, Charlie Hebdo, has been acquitted.

"A French court rejected accusations by the Grand Mosque of Paris and other Islamic groups who claimed the magazine had “insulted Muslims” and had incited “hatred” against them by reprinting cartoons of Muhammad.

"Of the blog posts I've seen reporting this news, Oliver Kamm makes the strongest point, and one that's all too rarely heard:
- 'Note, however, one aspect of the judgement, according to the BBC report, that troubles me:

‘The cartoons were covered by freedom of expression laws and were not an attack on Islam, but fundamentalists, it said.’

'Do freedom of expression laws not cover an attack on Islam?

'It is essential that they should.

"There is nothing wrong with an attack on Islam (or any other sacred belief).

'There is nothing wrong with giving offence to religious groups.

'The judgement appears implicitly to reject these principles. Defenders of a free society must assert them militantly.” [end quote from Kamm].

"Let me repeat some of that (says David Thompson) because it bears repeating, and probably more than once:
“There is nothing wrong with an attack on Islam (or any other sacred belief).”

"One of the creeping, unanalysed myths of our time is that it is somehow wrong to dislike Islam, or any part thereof, and wrong to take a dim view of its tenets and demands, and wrong to take a still dimmer view of the figure who founded it.

"I can practically hear the distant tutting and grunts of disapproval. Poor Islam. Poor Muslims. Their beliefs are being mocked. How hurtful. How 'racist.' How terribly unfair.

"No. It's not unfair at all.

"What's unfair is a demand for unearned deference and a unilateral exemption from the testing of ideas.

*"What's unfair, indeed despicable, are efforts by Islamic groups to cow dissent and stifle criticism with a well-rehearsed pantomime of victimhood and the projection of false motives* {my emphasis - dda}.

"Pretending to be hurt in order to assert one's will over others, even violently, or to gain unreciprocated favours, or to exert control over what others may say and think, is cowardly and malign.

"Let me say that once again. It's cowardly and malign."

Thus spake Mr David Thompson, re Islam's 'well-rehearsed pantomime of victimhood', and I fully concur:

"Pretending to be hurt in order to assert one's will over others, even violently, or to gain unreciprocated favours, or to exert control over what others may say and think, is cowardly and malign".

And more good sense from David Thompson:

"The Passive-Aggressive Jihad".

http://davidthompson.typepad.com/davidthompson/2007/03/the_passiveaggr.html

It was reproduced and discussed at jihadwatch here.

http://www.jihadwatch.org/2007/03/the-passive-aggressive-jihad.html

I am hoping that moslems of the world will prove us all wrong on May 20th when they show quiet indignation at the spectacle of so many caricatures of the demon prince.

It's a slim hope as past results are a great predictor of future behavior. So I'll be out on the streets of LA looking for a group of moslem rioters to 'encourage'.

Can't wait to see how the MSM rebrands this little outing.

A caricature competition is being held on May 20 at a link of the www.facebook.com under a plot to hurt the millions of Muslims around the world.
.....................

Odd, isn't it, that when there is a "plot to hurt the millions of Muslims around the world" you get—well, some irreverent cartoons.

When there is a similar plot *by Muslims*, you get stacks and stacks of dead bodies.

Continue with this spirited defense of "free speech". I eagerly await the egg on your collective bigoted faces.

Come on GT, don't be such a whiner. Free speech is tantamount to a free society and cartoons are harmless little pictures. Nobody likes to be the brunt of ridicule, criticism, or malicious jokes but muslims are the only people who go literally berserk over trivial insults, real or perceived. As for muhammad, what could possibly 'insult' a monster?

Get over yourselves! You're not 'the best of people' and your religion is not above reproach. In fact, islam is without a doubt the 'worst' religion imaginable in so many ways I can't count them all. Whenever I hear a muslim defend his fellow muslims for their 'justified rage' over cartoons and hundreds of other silly things, I think of the heinous atrocities committed by muslim savages and their deliberate destruction of synagogues and churches, including priceless, irreplaceable icons representative of Judaism and Christianity. I think of barbaric muslims desecrating Jewish and Christian cemeteries, destroying headstones and even digging up coffins and plundering them.
I think of all the young girls in the West who have been raped by muslim pigs because they see them as kuffar whores and when they are arrested and tried for these crimes, their loving muslim parents are outraged that their darling, superior sons are considered criminals for assaulting 'filth'. I think of how non-muslims are treated in islamic hellholes and how muslims demand to be treated like royalty in the West. I bristle when I hear a slimy Saudi 'royal' demand that muslims be allowed to build mosques anywhere they want in my country so their rabid clerics can promote sedition and jihad against America, yet non-muslims in SA can't even practice their faiths, much less build houses of worship.

Those are just a few of many islamic insults that enrage me but I won't be making death threats or blowing up innocent people. If islam is so great, why are muslims so angry, insecure, paranoid, and hysterical? Don't tell me they're beginning to doubt their own lies! But there's nothing like mass, gratuitous violence to get back on track, right?

Oh, boy! I'm going to have fun with this!

http://madaboutmahound.blogspot.com/

There's also a contest at Almost Midnight in the West (1159pmgmt.blogspot.com) Send cartoons to wheatingtonpress@gmail.com No attachments!

I put the prophets head on a picture of a dog dressed up in a little plush pig costume! Thats a two-fer!

Pakistan is Muslim, hence supremacist and intolerant, so screw them.

However, as his actions show, immature geek Mark Zuckerberg is clearly another budding Bill Gates with an agenda of creating a monopoly in social networking no matter whom it hurts. He is dangerous and must be stopped. I recommend everybody delete their Facebook account after informing their social network to, in hopes that a saner safer alternative will arise. Already there is the open source Diaspora project in the works.
