People like Michael Gouse insist that the terrorists are only a tiny minority and moreover, misunderstanding or misusing Islam for their own purposes.
Despite all our overwhelming evidence we are still considered paranoid. Whereas we believe those who believe people like Michael Gouse, who "sells" "Islam-Lite", are "THE NAIVES".
Let a verbal civel war among the "Paranoids" and the "Naives" settle in the end what the majority of democratic voters will believe and vote for. And in that verbal war let both parties use as much relevant facts and logical arguments as can be found.
No longer are the only real good Islam-experts found among the Muslims. No longer do lies and ignorance go unchallenged.

Ghouse was pitted against the very knowledgeable and fast talking Brigitte Gabriel on Hannity's television program this evening.
She obviously overwhelmed him.
IMO, everything said by knowledgeable kufar on these programs should be designed, and intended, to influence the host's view. And those hosts still need a lot of education.
Even toward the end of the debate, Hannity still thinks the problem is 'radical' Islam.
He's not the only one who doesn't get it, though.
It is apparent from Holder's testimony that neither he, nor those asking questions of him, nor any of the talking heads discussing that event, have the slightest idea what they're talking about.
How embarrased will Representative Lamar Smith eventually be when he finally finds out that every Muslim on the planet reads the same version of the Qur'an (even if they don't know what even a single word of it says) and that there's no such thing as 'radical' Islam.
Kudos to Pamela. Just listened to the erudite and knowledgeable lady on Hannity's radio show in debate with Muslim, Michael Grouse's rendition of his “Taqiyya” explanation of the 'real Islam. 'Love that Demsci's “Islam-Lite.”)
We concede to Mr. Grouse rationalization's that some people manifest evil more than others in all races and religions. But, as Pamela reminds Mr Grouse, the “abrogated” verses in the Qu'ran call for Jihad against all infidels; to honor "Allahu Akbar" in chorus for all faithful Muslims to follow.
Just writing this nonsense makes me want to shake my head, but it can no longer be ignored, as some still persist in sticking theirs in the sand.
Who is funding this mosque? A 13-story building in Manhattan costs what, 50-100 million dollars? I can't imagine any congregation being able to afford that.

I do have a problem "with Muslims". I have a problem with anyone who clings to an ideology for their own comfort and fantasies of protection and a blissful life after they die knowing that what they believe dictates violation of the rights of others, sanctifies cruelties, mandates the killing of others. Evading the knowledge of reality that would require they make some hard decisions in their own lives. The "moderate Muslims" never take the blame, always cry "misinterpretation", always protest their innocence but never in the streets with signs reading "Death to al-Qaeda". They are at best deluded or cowards, and at worst collaborators.

The guy claims Geller is reading the wrong translations. That is silly. Today one can immediately pull up any Qur'an verse in 15 translations online, and one can see that all those translations are in pretty robust accord with one another. One might lose some aesthetic qualities of the original Arabic, but the meaning barely changes from translation to translation, especially when one ignores the parenthetical comments inserted by some translators.
One can also recall the study done by Tina Magaard, a linguist who got her Ph.D. in Intercultural Communication from the Sorbonne, and did a three-year study of the original texts of the ten largest religions. One of her findings, despite reading the Arabic Qur'an, was that of all the religions, Islam was the most aggressive toward outside groups.
One might lose some aesthetic qualities of the original Arabic, but the meaning barely changes from translation to translation...

Yes, but for decades now, throughout the latter half of the 20th century, and continuing into our own century, there has developed a sociopolitical culture, Politically Correct Multi-Culturalism (PC MC) -- massively expressed in public schools, universities, news media, political positions and debates, laws, church positions and activism, and in TV shows, movies and among entertainment figures in pop culture -- of shame and guilt at what we had to do to build this nation and make it one of the most liberal, progressive and advanced polities in history. This shame and guilt are part of a larger Western movement that sees the advancement of the West as built upon the "oppression" and "genocide" of Third World Peoples. It is based in the PC MC dogma of Reverse Racism, by which Ethnic Peoples are forever victims, while the West has been through history, and is essentially, an Oppressor of Ethnic Peoples and will never pay off the mortgage of its Sins against them. The best the West can do is continue to pay, in guilt and shame, by placating the Other.
Meanwhile, Muslims come along -- or rather, have returned -- on our Western radar: Muslims: the Mother of all Others. And since they are perceived to be an Ethnic People (or a wonderfully diverse Rainbow of Ethnic Peoples), it is easy to see why this irrationality continues, robust as ever, to accord Muslims deference, respect and apologies, and to reinterpret any pathologies that Muslims and their Islamic culture ostensibly intrude upon the world as somehow always our fault, and not theirs.
Yes, there are incipient spider-cracks forming in the edifice of PC MC, but so far they do not portend the dismantling of it that is by now long overdue.

I'd like to propose that we award her the nickname "Chainsaw" in homage to the way she carved up her opposition.
Here's one of Ghouse's mistaken analogies. He pointed out that about 1% of the American population is in prison. That, I guess, was supposed to be comparable to the 1% of Muslims who, according to some polls of Muslims, express an interest in directly participating in jihad terror actions. But Ghouse left out several important details.
1. About half of the U.S. prison population is in prison for crimes that involved neither violence nor the threat of violence. Thus right off the bat, the Muslim population has twice as many (compared to the U.S. population in general) threats of violence per capita. Furthermore, on top of the 1% who are jihadists or would-be jihadists, the Muslim population, like every other, has ordinary violent criminals. So when that is also factored in, perhaps the Muslim population represents not merely twice as many, but thrice as many threats of violence per capita, compared with the American population in general. All these numbers, however, should be checked.
2. While polls suggest that something between 5% and 15% of Muslims agree with the use of jihadist terror (even if "only" 1% are interested in directly participating), we do not see between 5% and 15% of the non-Muslim U.S. population in agreement with what our prison population did to get there, and especially not with what the violent half of the prison population did.
3. Polls suggest that somewhere around 50% of Muslims would like (or think they would like) to live under Islamic law rather than under Western legal systems. By contrast, a very small percentage of non-Muslims in the U.S. desire to live under an authoritarian system rather than under a Western legal system.
4. The 1/2 of 1% of the U.S. population that is in prison for violence or the threat of violence does not constitute the vanguard of an ideological group with ambitions for the gradual takeover of the West and the subjugation of non-Muslims under Islamic law. The violent prison population in the U.S. has no unity, no plan, no overall goal for dominating society. By contrast, the 1% of Muslims who are interested in directly participating in terror, counted together with another, say, 9% of Muslims who agree with that use of jihadist terror, constitute a vanguard that represents, say, another 35% of Muslims. That additional 35%, though they do not usually agree with violent jihad, have the same goal as the jihadists, but seek to achieve it in other ways: a society ruled by Islamic law. Thus the jihadists or would-be jihadists are really the 1% vanguard of another, say, 49% of Muslims who have the same ultimate social goals. Further, the jihadists are the vanguard of an international Islamic movement with hundreds of millions of supporters and big oil money behind it.
5. Jihadists do not merely commit petty murders and rapes out of a personal pathology. They seek rather to acquire weapons of mass destruction to destroy whole societies. And as time passes and technology advances, acquisition of such weapons from Islamic nations or North Korea, or even subnational groups, is likely to become easier. It wasn't some garden variety convict from a U.S. prison who destroyed the World Trade Centers. Jihadists did that, and could still do far worse.
So the analogy Ghouse makes by referring to the 1% of the U.S. population that is in prison, falls apart in a half dozen ways under even slight scrutiny.
As I listened to this Michael Ghouse offer one tired old excuse after another, what came foremost to mind was that I'm past listening to what any Muslim has to say anymore about Islam. I no more care what a Muslim has to say about Islam than I care what a Marxist or a fascist has to say about Marxism or fascism.
We never distinguish between moderate Nazism and radical Nazism, why do it with islam?
I believe this is a time to say "Let's roll".
