STOCKHOLM -- A prosecutor says Sweden has expelled a Syrian diplomat in an alleged plot to abduct his daughter and bring her out of the Scandinavian country.
Prosecutor Katarina Lenter says the diplomat left Sweden earlier this week after the Foreign Ministry declared him persona non-grata. She says the motive for the suspected kidnapping plot was that he didn't approve of his daughter's boyfriend in Sweden.
Lenter told AP on Friday the man could not be prosecuted because of his diplomatic immunity but an alleged accomplice, who is not a diplomat, is being held in jail pending possible charges.
Swedish news agency TT reported the daughter was 18 and living in a secret location.

But this Syrian Muslim diplomat's daughter - I wonder how long the family's been in Sweden? Was she born there? - saw all those Swedish girls making their own choices, and she too wanted to choose her own man. And she jumped over the fence. Like I said, I hope she's picked a native Swede, either secular or, just to *really* get up the noses of the Ummah*, a Christian. (He could even be an Assyrian Christian refugee from dar al Islam, now resident in Sweden...Sweden has quite a lot of those...that would be pretty good, too).
Let's hope she goes the whole hog - so to speak - and apostasises. If I were the people in charge of that shelter where she's hiding, I would be strongly encouraging her to do so; and signing her and her boyfriend up for self-defence classes and small arms practice sessions.
Maybe she'll marry her Swedish boyfriend. Or maybe she'll decide she likes another Swede better (whoever she picks , I'd tell her - DON'T pick a Muslim), a few years down the track. Either way, she may as well apostasise, because she's made herself a target for an 'honor' murder already. May as well be hung for a sheep as for a lamb.

Social Democrat politician and Stockholm Abdo Goriya; 53 years, was arrested on Monday on suspicion of conspiracy to commit kidnapping. He is suspected of plotting to kidnap the daughter of a friend and bring her out of the country - Syrian Charge d'Affaires in Sweden, Dr. Mohammad Bassa IMADI. The government has already expelled him. Imadis daughter has an affair with a contemporary boy from India, and two plugs in Stockholm. They are now in safety. The subject is therefore honor.
Abdo Goriya sought custody on suspicion of conspiracy to commit kidnapping. Deputy Chief Prosecutor, Katharina Lenth, today submitted a request to arrest Attunda district court to detain him.

The Swedish police got solid evidence in the kidnapping case against Abdo Goriya from the Social democratic party. The security police tapped the telephone conversations between the Syrian diplomat and the politician who belongs to the very top of the party.
The arrest caused a “silent panic” among the leadership around Mona Sahlin in the Social Democratic Party. Goriya was recognised as a specialist on “honour culture” and he claims that he just tried to solve the conflict between father and daughter in a peaceful way.
According to the tapped conversations the diplomat physically abused his daughter for a period of five to six days and told her that he lost his honour because of her.
I was not able to find any information on Swedish websites about the identity of the daughters boyfriend.
Abdo Goriya is not just anybody. He has a string of political tasks and oppointments in Stockholm for the Social Democratic Party; they probably consider him "safe" and "integrated". We´ll get to see if his active participation can be proved, and if everything he has done up until this little "faux pas" only has been empty talk in order to ingratiate himself.

The police are saying this is 'honor' related. The Syrian diplomat's daughter was having a relationship with a man her father did not approve of.

As reported by Swedish blogs, the politician is Abdo Goriya, an Assyrian (ie, Christian) from Syria. Since he was a close adviser to the diplomat's family, it stands to reason the diplomat is Assyrian too.

The truth about Dr. Mohammad Bassam IMADI`s daughter(EX Syrian Ambassedor to sweden 2005-2009) that she was married to sewden in 1999 six - years before her father was appointed there as an Ambassedor- and her hussband familly is AL HASHIMI a femous muslim syrian and she has two children 10 and 7 years old, besides she got swedish nationality since 2003
and her father was not expelled from the government but he finished his mission there and got reteired normally
the next person in embassy Ayman Alloush was named Charge d`affairs after the Ambassedor left
Mr.alloush was transferred from the U.K. to sweden in mid 2008 so his daughter who just acommplished her 18 years old few months ago has been there for less than 2 years and it seems that she was empressed by the live style of modern sewden and fall in love (like any girl in her age 17-18)

from my point of view her father should have convinced her logically to go back to syria offering her better alternative (wich seem it was not available) or he should accept his daughter`s wishes even if the person is not muslim if he (her boy freind) loves her truly he could claim is islam to marry her , but if the story is a boy-girl relation according to swedish manners everybody is against it cuase its not our values and the girl herself will regret what she has done and both she and her children will suffer in the future

Secret documents acquired by a Swedish TV network have shown that a Syrian diplomat’s plot to kidnap his own daughter was first uncovered when his phone was tapped by the security police, Säpo, who were attempting to find evidence of an illegal intelligence-gathering operation.
The confidential appendix to court documents reviewed by TV4 includes details of bugged conversations between the Syrian charge d’affaires and Social Democratic politician Abdo Goriya, who was arrested near his home on Monday.
Goriya, 53, was remanded in custody on Thursday on suspicion of conspiring in April and May to kidnap the diplomat’s 18-year-old daughter, who the diplomat said had “brought dishonour” on him by entering into an amorous relationship with a schoolmate. The Stockholm politician, who has Syrian roots, denies committing an offence, arguing that he simply wished to assist the diplomat with his family problems.
In conversations recorded by Säpo, the diplomat spoke to Goriya of how he had informed his daughter that her relationship was a mortal sin. He forced her to stay at home and beat her for several days running.
The young woman reported her father to the police but later retracted her statement when her mother threatened to commit suicide.
Goriya was brought in as a form of mediator between the girl, her family, and her boyfriend’s family. Although the politician has previously been involved in campaigns against honour-related violence, Goriya backed the diplomat in the wiretapped phone calls, saying it was “awful” that people couldn’t bring up their own children how they liked in Sweden.
The two men discussed how best to get the diplomat’s daughter back to Syria. Goriya offered to help and suggested that the 18-year-old should be lured out of Sweden by means of a holiday in Turkey.
“He then says that her family in Syria can take her by the ear and find somebody suitable for her,” according to the secret court document.
The diplomat’s daughter remains in Sweden and is receiving police protection. The Syrian charge d’affaires, whose diplomatic immunity shielded him from prosecution, has now left Sweden with the rest of his family.
Säpo and the foreign ministry have refused to comment on the nature of the suspected intelligence operation that the security police were seeking to investigate.

Not so surprising, actually. Rather, it's dismally typical dhimmi behaviour. Just read any one of Bat Yeor's three books about dhimmitude and what it does to people.
His public defence of Muslims in Sweden, his denial of their bad behaviour, and his willingness to assist a powerful Muslim to subjugate and punish said Muslim's rebellious daughter, are all of a piece. Classic dhimmitude. A dhimmi dare not criticise Muslims or the Muslim social order; a good dhimmi does not defy the rules of Islam nor assist anyone else to defy those rules.
It is also possible that Goriya may have family or other connections back 'home' in Syria that were or are being used as leverage by Syrian Muslims - especially Syrian Muslim officials, to ensure his cooperation with and enabling for the Muslim programme in Sweden.
As a dhimmi, his first priority is NOT toward non-Muslims, not even toward the Assyrian Christians either in Sweden or back home in Syria; his first priority is to *serve Muslims and do what they want*.
This diplomat's daughter, just turned 18, is in exactly the right age bracket to become a victim of an 'honor' murder, and her 'crime' - falling in love with a young man of her own choice - is the sort of thing that is very frequently punished by death, usually at the hands of the girl's own father together with other male relatives, in many parts of dar al Islam. (There are occasional 'honor'-type murders committed by persons of some other groups, but at a much, much lower rate than within the Ummah).

One of the more horrifying points she makes is this:

That bit is really, really creepy: that a Muslim father, say, will inflict *on his own daughter*, or a Muslim brother on his sister, the sort of ferocious sexual/sadistic violence that, in the West, we only see carried out by serial killers against strangers.
A Muslim girl, therefore, lives in a world in which her father (or any other male relative, or combination of male relatives) may at any moment, for the most trivial of reasons (many 'honor' murders are motivated by mere rumour or the overheated imagination of the murderer, there doesn't even have to be - as in this case in Sweden - a real act of insubordination by the girl) suddenly morph into monster-mode and destroy her in some fiendish manner. *Every* man in your life, if you are a Muslim woman, can become - at any moment, and in fact without your necessarily having done anything at all, you may be the most meek and submissive and identity-less creature, without boundaries, without independent will, pure plastic, but it will do no good if someone spreads a false rumour about you - your judge, jury, and torture-executioner.
I hope that safe house the Swedes have got this young girl in, is properly fortified. If she's granted asylum in Sweden, she'd better be given permission to carry a gun.

The title of this story is misleading. Syrian does not really convey the identity of the diplomat. It should read "Muslim Arab diplomat from Syria..." but this would be "profiling"...

Not a sword. An axe. Two axes. After all, this is *Sweden*: people don't swing axes in battle anymore, but they have a lot of forest, and I'll bet that in the country or in the suburbs, many people would have an axe handy for chopping firewood. Lars Vilks talked about having an axe ready in case any jihadi assassins came calling; so axes *must* be permitted in some places at least.

From a Dutch mediator among Muslims, himself of Muslim descent, I read that it happens a lot that a Muslima falls in love with an infidel at school, much more than Muslims expect.
I am now reminded of the ads on buses about apostasy. Maybe this campaign can be specified on a few buses pointing towards help for apostasizing for young Muslima's.
After all, when the Muslims choose to treat their own women this way, this weak spot should be taken advantage of to the full. And in good conscience, because they deserve losing their daughters in this way, if they consider their honour more important than the lives of these daughters and lose them anyway by gruesome killing.
