Two Italian retail chains look back nostalgically to the days when Jewish businesses were labeled as such and shunned by Nazis and those who feared them. "Mideast: Frattini, Coop-Conad Initiative Dangerous and Racist," from ANSAmed, May 26 (thanks to Insubria):
(ANSAmed) - WASHINGTON, MAY 26 - An initiative that "introduces an extremely dangerous element of racism in the market dynamics", said Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini from Washington, regarding the decision of Coop and Conad - two Italian large-scale retail chains - to suspend the sale of some fruit and vegetable products from the occupied Palestinian Territories, of which the exact origin has not been established. The Minister continued that this is a "dangerous and hasty initiative" which "groups political and economic questions and damages the development of the entire area. Choosing a product on its origins and not its quality could lead to racist dynamics", particularly in this case, "in which the case involves Israeli products, because they are Jews". Frattini underlines that "tens of thousands of Palestinians work in the occupied Territories, therefore this initiative could have an impact on the local economy which gives work to the Palestinians". According to the Minister, what we should do is "continue to increase our efforts for peace". (ANSAmed).
It is not only Foreign Minister Franco Frattini who has spoken out against this move, but also the President of Italy, Giorgio Napolitano who, like the two most distinguished of his predecessors as Presidente della Repubblica, Sandro Pertini in the early 1980s and Luigi Einaudi in the late 1940s, has shown himself to be morally superior to the run of contemporaneous politicians in the age of Berlusconi (who, deplorable as he has, presides over a cabinet that has some good people in it, including the gravel-voiced La Russa, the sensationally-spectacled Roberto Maroni, and Frattini himself. It pays to watch Bruno Vespa's Porta a Porta, because otherwise trying to make sense of these figures, and of Italian political life, is impossible.
An executive at Conad -- or was it the Coop -- claims that the reason for his company's participation in the boycott was that Israel did not identify which products came from the "West Bank" (i.e.,that part of Mandatory Palestine, always intended to be included by the League of Nations in the Jewish National Home, that was however seized by Jordan in 1949, and held onto, until what had been won by force of arms was lost by force of arms, to Israel, in the Six-Day War) so that customers could decide whether they wanted to boycott those products or not. In other words, because Israel refused to make things easier for its enemies, that executive wished others to believe that his company had a perfect right to boycott all products from those territories won by Israel in the 1967 war, but to which Israel has a prior, longstanding, and well-based claim, legal, moral, and historic.
Frattini, Napolitano, and tens of millions of Italians who played no part in this sinister campaign by Muslims and far-left collaborators with Muslims beg to differ.
If we lived somewhere besides bizarro land this would be downed in an instant. See, how it would work in Normal-Land is, when these stores announced this kind of blatant anti-semitism, people would be OUTRAGED. They would vociferously refuse to patronize said establishments. The business then gets to choose whose custom is more important:anti-semite palestinians and their apologists or the rest of the planet!
Of course back here on planet earth there is a growing number of people who are more worried about appeasing muslims and their ilk than they are about trivial matters such as right and wrong!!
GBAI
More Islam. Well then the Muslim world should not mind if we Kaffir boycott all their products. No wait,... they have no produce to boycott... except jihad.
However, I would think that as an Italian citizen, you would be free to boycott these two dhimmi establishments. That's Coop and Conad for our Italian and European readers.
Before we rush to condemn these stores we should investigate further. I would not want any fruits or vegetables to sneak into my house in the middle of the night to kill me or my family. Could not the great tribes of "fruits and vegetables" be manipulated by the Jews and mistakenly attack innocent muslims? And what if the Zionist oppressors have them attack the rest of the world? Remember, not everyone posseses a Cuisinart. "Listen oh wise ones, you better make peace with thine fruits and vegetables now, for the great day of their wrath hath come."
Oh wait, I misread the article. It's only "some fruits and vegetables". C'mon you irresponsible journalists, please publish a list so I can see which fruits are my friends and which are my enemies. Same goes for the vegetable kingdom. I really need to go to the grocery store and need to know which aisles to avoid.
Every day I am stunned again...

Notice, even those decent Italians speaking out against this nasty initiative refer uncritically to "the occupied Palestinian Territories".
We certainly have our work cut out for us.
I, for my part, am going to buy more Israeli products.
Yes, the word "occupied" is an essential part of the Muslim Arab propaganda effort, and the fact that one hears this adjective used, no longer merely by those who do so with cunning and sinister deliberation, but by those who have no idea why the word does not apply, but that its use is hardly innocent, making those who hear or read the word assume that Israel has no historic, legal, or moral rights to these territories, when they are in fact part of the original land assigned by the League of Nations to Mandatory Palestine, the only one among the many Mandates, that was indeed set aside for the sole purpose of the creation of the Jewish National Home. It was well understood by the dignified and intelligent and incorruptible members of the Mandates Commission that there would be others included in the future Jewish state. That is why they carefully included a remark about the "civil and religious rights" of others but carefully did not include the phrase "political rights." Furthermore, they refrained from describing these "others" as Arabs or Muslims because they knew there were several dozen groups in Jerusalem and elsewhere in the Holy Land, and the "Muslim Arabs" only one such group.
Israeli spokesmen, Israeli diplomats, and all those who claim to wish Israel well but for some reason think because their hearts are in the right place they don't have to bother with little things like learning about what the Mandate provisions say, or what the history of the area was, or what the ideology of islam is all about, or what the word "dhimmi" means, or why the Treaty of Hudaibiyya remains completely relevant today -- no, as long as someone says "I am pro-Israel" he apparently thinks he needs to learn none of those things, and so he goes off to do battle deprived of every weapon that matters, the weapon of knowledge, the weapon of mastery of fact, the weapon of rhetorical implacability.
"Occupied" makes one think of Occupied France or Occupied Paris or Occupied Europe - that is, "occupired" by the Nazis, occupied by those who have no legitimate claim. But Israel has a considerable, and many think, overwhelmng claim. How is it that there are not picketers outside Bush House, where the BBC, deeply implicated in pro-Arab and pro-Muslim presentations and presenters, insinuates in its every broadcast that smoothly vicious and false "occupied"?
The Israelis and their supporters get hot and bothered about, say, the Goldstone Report. Or about some misrepresentation of Israeli attempts to defend the country against enemies within and without. But by overlooking such a word as "occupied" they overlook one of the main threats to Israel's necessary and just claims, and they collaborate in furthering, by not drawing attention to the monstrousness of the use of such words as "occupied," the propaganda of their mortal enemy, conducting. relentlessly, along with all the other kinds of Jihad, the Jihad of "pen, speech."
Thanks God that where I live there is only one Coop.
Coop isn't new at these kind of dhimmi gesture, a few months ago started to sell halal meat.
If you go in red (left) regions you will find only coop stores....for all those lefty that applaud to this boycott I would like to remember that if you want to boycott Israel you should stop using your cell, computer since the tecnology was invented in Israel.
Strange enough but also The left opposition is against to this boycott

er.....oil?
It isn't only Muslims that can play the boycott game.
If the Muslims want to try to boycott Israel, well, those of us who support Israel can choose to a. buy Israeli (usually an excellent product), from those businesses that continue to stock Israeli product and we can b. refuse to buy things produced by Muslims, whether in dar al Islam or anywhere else.
Sure, we're stuck with buying oil from Muslim oil states, for the moment (but this should merely spur on those kafir who have money to invest, to pour their money into R & D on alternatives to oil and on ways to make the oil from *non-Muslim sources* go further, by making more efficient cars, etc...and since the Israelis, in particular, are working very hard in this field, there's one obvious place to invest one's money, thus spiting the Ummah on *two* counts) .
But a kaffir consumer boycott *would* hit plenty of Muslim countries that don't have much in the way of oil.
Parts of dar al Islam do produce stuff besides oil: timber products and spices and coconut and cheap sweatshop-made clothing from Indonesia and Malaysia; rice and textiles and cheap sweat-shop-made clothing from Pakistan and Bangladesh; apricots and figs from Turkey; jam and cotton textiles from Egypt; cheap olive oil from North Africa; dates and pistachios from Iran and dates from Iraq (I've seen dates from Iran and Iraq in our local supermarket; *no way* would I now, knowing what I know about the horrifying persecution of non-Muslims in both those countries, even consider buying those dates).
And to extend the principle: even within the lands of the non-Muslims: knowing what we now know about the contempt and malevolence toward non-Muslims that is very, very prevalent among Muslims everywhere: who among us would feel like patronising a Muslim-owned restaurant or food shop, for example?
I will go to the Jewish-owned deli or coffee shop, but NOT to the Turkish kebab joint.
I love Indian food; but now I know what Muslims did to India, and what they are still doing, I will carefully inspect any 'Indian' restaurant I see, and if I suspect it's Muslim-owned, I will stay away.
Furthermore, whenever a non-Muslim country stands up to Muslims, it should be rewarded by an increase in tourism and by increased demand for its products.
For example, Belgium and France, if they are seen to be resolutely enforcing their burka ban, should be rewarded not only by friendly letters to their embassies and head of state, commending them, but by a mysterious increase in sales of French and Belgian products all over the non-Muslim world.
Quebec, if they institute and enforce a burqa ban, should experience an increase in tourist visits by Canadians from other provinces, and by Americans; any person who chooses Quebec as a destination *because* the ugly Slave Mask is banished from its streets, should make sure to let the Quebec authorities know the reasons for their decision.
Jet engines, cruise missiles and ballistic missiles were invented by the Nazis, however that hasn't stopped the Israelis from using the technology to deadly effect-so your cell phone argument is somewhat inconsistent.
If a boycott against Israeli products is 'racist' then, using the usual 'logic' a boycott of products from Moslem countries is equally 'racist',although neither Jews nor Moslems are members of a 'race'.
This, of course, is the same problem as with apartheid South Africa, how to weaken the power of a morally repugnant regime without increasing the burden on those whom it oppresses.
Observe 'mac', above, exposing himself yet again as a moral imbecile, in two comments that imply an equation of the Jewish state of Israel with the Nazi Reich, and with apartheid-era South Africa.
Funny, though 'mac' can always find harsh things to say about da Jooz of Israel - 'morally repugnant regime' - I don't recall him using similar language to describe, say, the Arab Muslim state of Egypt in which police and authorities wink at and connive in the harassment and even mass-murder of helpless Coptic Christians, or the Islamic state of Pakistan in which Muslims wink at and connive in the kidnapping of Christian and Hindu girls, or about the abominable House of Saud, or the repellant, murderous, sharia-crazed mullahs of Islamic Iran.
As for racism: Mac correctly identifies Islam as an ideology or belief system (so that boycotts against products of Islamic states, are no more 'racist' than would have been boycotts of products of Nazi Germany during the 1930s, or boycotts of the products of Soviet Russia).
But because 'mac' primarily wants to be able to promote a boycott of Israeli products (which are, of course, mostly produced by Jews), because he wants to weaken the Jewish state (and the only conceivable reason I can see for his wanting it to be weakened, is because he knows that if it is weakened sufficiently, it could be destroyed - in the pogrom to end all pogroms - by the allahu-akbar itbach-al-yahood Mohammedan Mob and replaced by a repressive Arab Islamic state like all the other repressive 'Arab' Islamic states from Algeria to Iraq) he then turns round and tries to equate 'being Jewish' with 'being Muslim', pretending that Judaism too is *only* about membership in a religion/ ideology, and denying that there is any such thing as a Jewish or Hebrew ethnos/ people-group/ nation.
Kind of makes me wonder: if 'mac' were near a synagogue in sunny Australia on a Saturday morning, and observed a bunch of Lebanese or Somali Muslim thugs lurking round a corner, ready to jump a couple of unarmed Jewish kids who'd just come out of the synagogue...would he intervene? Would he yell, and warn the Jews there were Bad Guys waiting round the corner? Would he call the police? Or would he refrain from raising the alarm, wait till the mugging was in progress and the Jews were on the ground, then yell 'itbach al Yahood! Slaughter the Jews!' and join the Muslims in putting in the boot?
There's probably a hole in your little tinfoil hat, urgent repairs are needed.
You're simply being offensive and presenting some straw man arguments, which have no relevance to what I wrote.
Remember new foil all round, you'll feel much better.
Mac
The jet engine was invented by Frank Whittle, not the nazis.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Whittle
And you are the one urgently in need of tin foil (get the sort used for roating turkeys - it's thicker), not dda, if you truly believe that Israel and the Jews are the enemy rather than those who adhere to the vile tenets of islam.
Israel poses no threat to those who do not threaten it first.
Mac - Guess who invented the cruise missile! Nope, not the Nazis -
The Swedish inventor Martin Wiberg has a strong claim to have invented the first pulse jet in Sweden, but exact details of the patent are unclear. It is also unclear whether any working models were made.
The first working pulsejet was patented in 1906 by Russian engineer V.V. Karavodin, completing a working model in 1907. The French inventor Georges Marconnet patented his valveless pulsejet engine in 1908, which many commentators argue greatly influenced V-1 flying bomb engineer Paul Schmidt. Schmidt, a Munich-based independent designer and inventor, pioneered a more efficient design based on modification of the intake valves (or flaps) - earning him government support from the German Air Ministry in 1933.[5]
Sorry, strike two.
But good news -
The first ballistic missile was created in the 1930s by Walter Dornberger. It was launched in 1944 into London, an English city. Within three years of the first launch, over three thousand ballistic missiles were created and fired.
The first kind of missile, using metal tubes and explosive powder, was created in the 18th Century, by Tippu Sultan.
So, like one out of three. I realize that accuracy is not at a premium for Islamic apologists, but I'd like to commend you for at least one fact right.
And what was your point, again?
Oh, yeah. Israel uses ballistic missiles like everybody else. Didn't the Thug-in-Chief in Iran just launch some missiles. Of course, it took Iran much longer to develop them......... but I suppose beggars can't be choosers.
As Italy historically had been conquered an subjected to forced occupation of unwanted invaders, it is especially concerned with maintaining its freedom, as a nation. "Liberta" is also an important concept for most Italians, and before I assume that these store-owners are pro-jihad I would have to know their reasoning. I also know that even in modern day Italy, especially Sicily, citizens still have their hands full from time to time with the Mafioso, which is feared and loathed. I seriously doubt that Italian citizens are going to so easily cave in to mozoids when they fight on a daily level to preserve their "liberta".
Invented, inschmented. Yes ,I know about Whittle, however as far as I'm concerned the credit/discredit goes to the Nazis as they had the first operational jets and that's what really matters.
You've missed the point too,I'll concede that I should have been more explicit. Rather like success, inventions have a thousand fathers, however the Nazis were again the first to use ballastic and cruise missiles operationally. If you want to claim that fireworks are in the same league as the V-1 and V-2,that's your problem.
Actually, you've made my point about the long history and interconnections of various inventions,I was indicating the absurdity of 'countrygirl's' comment.
If you could demonstrate that these weapons were used operationally by some nation before the Nazis,I'd be interested, until that unlikely event...Salaam!
I immediately thought of this brave Italian. One of my heroes.
Italian hostage 'defied killers'
Fabrizio Quattrocchi
Quattrocchi, an ex-baker, was trained to guard oil pipelines
The Italian hostage killed by kidnappers in Iraq was a defiant "hero" in his final moments, Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini says.
The dead man was identified as Fabrizio Quattrocchi, 36, a security guard.
As the gunman's pistol was pointing at him the hostage "tried to take off his hood and shouted, "Now I'll show you how an Italian dies!"
The retailers should be reminded of the bravery shown by one of their own.
They don't even have the guts to stand up to a boycott let alone a pistol.
Shame on them...piles of it.
islam is a lie and
Truth is killing it.
