PARIS - The Turkish Islamic charity behind a flotilla of aid ships that was raided by Israeli forces on its way to Gaza had ties to terrorism networks, including a 1999 al-Qaida plot to bomb Los Angeles International Airport, France's former top anti-terrorism judge said Wednesday.The Istanbul-based Foundation for Human Rights and Freedoms and Humanitarian Relief, known by its Turkish acronym IHH, had "clear, long-standing ties to terrorism and Jihad," former investigating judge Jean-Louis Bruguiere told The Associated Press in a telephone interview.
Bruguiere, who led the French judiciary's counterterrorism unit for nearly two decades before retiring in 2007, didn't indicate whether IHH now has terror ties, but said it did when he investigated it in the late 1990s.
"They were basically helping al-Qaida when (Osama) bin Laden started to want to target U.S. soil," he said.
Some members of an international terrorism cell known as the Fateh Kamel network then worked at the IHH, he said. Kamel, an Algerian-Canadian dual national, had ties to the nascent al-Qaida, Bruguiere said.
Among Kamel's followers was Ahmed Ressam, an Algerian who was arrested in the U.S. state of Washington in December 1999 on his way to bomb Los Angeles International Airport as part of an al-Qaida plot.
"IHH had a role in the organization that led to the plot," Bruguiere said, reiterating sworn testimony he made in a U.S. Federal Court during Ressam's trial. Ressam is serving a 22-year prison sentence....

While visiting Israel and working in the Negev Desert several years ago, I was bitten by night by some small creature that caused me to have an allergic reaction. While being treated in a Haifa hospital, I noticed that there were many Arabs being treated in the same hospital. Upon questioning these people, I became aware that many of them were from Gaza and the other Palestinian Arab territories. They were treated quite well, stayed in the same rooms that Israeli Jews were in, and I did not notice anyone being treated poorly, or anyone complaining for that matter.
Far from being subjected to massacres and "inhumane" treatment, as people like Jon state, Israel seems to be making a concerted effort to deal with its enemies on a humane and fair level.
My senses, and the facts on the ground that bore the truth of what they told me out, did not lie to me.
I was highly impressed by the professionalism, humor, and humanity of the hospital staff, nurses and doctors, whose services compared favorably to ANY facility I have been in any where else in the developed world.

First, there is this little thing going on in the Gulf of Mexico called the BP Deepwater Horizion rig oil leak. This mess that is going on in the Gulf is what I call Obama's "Katrina" or better still "Chernoybel". Because of the slow response of President Obama, we have a major disaster in the Gulf of Mexico.
Many people are "fit to be tied" over this, including a number of President Obama supports.
Also about the tea party movement, GIVE IT CREDIT, it is spreading by leaps and bounds. The good news about it is that it will help direct the course of the upcoming mid term elections in 2010 and the big President election in 2012. Also conservative talkradio has taking off with excellent websites such as this. This is a gentle correcting.
In other words, look for a RETURN to center-right governing.
Give Israel CREDIT, it was simply defending itself Islamofacists.
A final note:
All of the above simply make President Obama now TOAST. He is FINISHED.

Reading these comments are pretty amusing. I think the most amusing part of it is how anybody who criticizes Israel here is automatically branded as a jew hating nazi. You'll think a bunch of people who have probably heard how people who make criticism of Islam will get you branded as a racist Islamphobic, you'll expect more sympathy from them, but I guess not. People who criticize Israel are not necessarily Nazies as you stated. I think, based on the International Laws, any country confronted with a similar scenario would do the same. Turkey is a key example- if there were a bunch of ships carrying 'humanitarian' aid for the Khurds do you really believe they will not block it? Knowing the history of Turkey they most probably over react to an extent the complete fleet would be blown up.
Israel has good reasons to do what they did -for instance, opening a naval route to Gaza will present enormous danger to the security of Israel.
There were six ships. The problem only occurred with the Turkish owned called "Mava Marmara". Whether you believe Israelie story or from a bunch of activists on board is a matter of a personal decision.
There were about 700 activists who are sent back home. That is a good thing. Israel treated the wounded in their hospitals. That is also a good thing.

Hamas, Israel, and the Gaza flotilla: Seven facts you need to know!
Amid a barrage of criticism of Israel, fair-minded observers should consider these seven facts before judging the flotilla raid.
In the torrent of rage and confusion generated by the loss of life when the Israeli Navy enforced the embargo on the Gaza Strip this week, there has been a regrettable overlooking of certain fundamental facts. As is so frequently the case, these facts have gotten buried in the rubble of political rhetoric. In order to prevent this incident from having a deleterious effect on the peace process going forward, the following must be understood:
Fact 1: The Gaza Strip is an armed camp, ruled with an iron fist by a repressive Hamas regime that has not only repeatedly pledged itself to the annihilation of Israel and the torpedoing of any prospects for Middle East peace, but has made good on its pledges by firing approximately 10,000 missiles, rockets, and mortar bombs at Israeli civilians over the past several years for the express purpose of killing or wounding those civilians or, at a minimum, terrifying them.
Fact 2: The United States, the European Union, and the international community have recognized that Hamas is a terrorist enterprise, which surely is beyond dispute.
Fact 3: When faced with an armed enemy committed to its destruction, which has done its very best to make war against Israeli civilians, Israel has two choices: to try to protect its civilians from those attacks, or to simply shrug its shoulders and hope that the attacks stop. There is, quite simply, no nation on earth that would choose the latter course, and no reasonable and fair-minded person who would expect it to.
Fact 4: In an effort to stop the missiles from being manufactured and used against it, and only for that reason, Israel has been forced to try to keep the materials used for that purpose out of the Gaza Strip. This is an obvious step needed to prevent the kind of war that caused so much destruction in 2008, when the increase in attacks by Hamas and its allies against Israeli civilians eventually triggered an Israeli response to stop them. There can be no real doubt that Israel is entitled to keep weapons of war from being used against it.
Fact 5: Israel repeatedly, and expressly, made clear to those who organized the effort to break the embargo that it would willingly take all of the humanitarian aid that was on their boats and transfer it to Gaza, without delay. All that Israel wanted was to be able to ensure that materials were, in fact, humanitarian aid, rather than the sorts of materials used for launching attacks that are supplied to Hamas by the Iranians and others. The organizers of the flotilla refused – because, of course, getting humanitarian aid to Gaza was not what their gambit was really about.
Fact 6: Israel regularly provides humanitarian aid to Gaza, and volunteering to get the humanitarian aid from the ships to Gaza was consistent with Israeli policy all along.
Fact 7, which is now coming to light several days after the initial and predictable barrage of criticism of Israel: Those on at least one of the ships planned all along to attack Israelis when they sought to enforce the embargo, and indeed, their attack on the Israelis was brutal.
This fact has been starkly captured in video widely circulating around the Internet, showing the vicious beatings initiated by those on board one of the ships against Israelis, who for their part had been instructed to refrain from using any force if at all possible. Indeed, in Israel the military is being criticized for failing to adequately prepare its naval personnel to anticipate the attacks on them from the boats, and for being too passive, and too trusting, in its approach to the flotilla.
As for the evidence that certain individuals of those responsible for orchestrating this tragedy are linked to Al Qaeda and other representatives of the worst forces on the planet, the next days will likely yield more information.
But the larger issue is this: Has the desire to blame Israel in certain quarters reached such an irrational frenzy that the fundamental facts of any issue relating to the Middle East conflict will reliably be overlooked? Are those who are committed to a fair-minded and reasonable analysis of that conflict prepared to insist that others who like nothing more than jumping to conclusions stop, pause, think, and consider the actual evidence?
There will always be those who don’t let facts get in the way of their biases. But fair-minded people examine the evidence before forming conclusions, especially when emotions run high. Israel – and the cause of peace in the Middle East – is counting on them to do just that.

Lieberman: Blockade Removal in Exchange for Shalit Visits
Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman commented Thursday that Israel might consider further lifting the blockade if Hamas agrees to allow monthly visits to kidnapped IDF soldier Gilad Shalit.

One potential problem with this is that the culprit is also exposing fellow allies (Leftists and Muslim apologists) to the malware. There are thus three possibilities:
1) the culprit is a dim bulb
2) the culprit thinks that a little "collateral damage" among his own is justified by the higher goal of infecting the enemy with malware
3) there is no purposeful planting of infected links in cases like this.
