And so we see yet again that Islamic jihadists identify themselves wholly and solely as Muslims; "moderate" Muslim spokesmen, meanwhile, deny that those jihadists have anything to do with Islam and seem most intent on making sure that non-Muslims do not refer to those jihadists in ways that have anything to do with Islam. Yet all the while, the "moderates" do not offer any alternative vision of Islam, or show any evidence that they're teaching against the jihadist form of Islam in their schools and mosques, and no one in the mainstream media seems to notice or call them on it.
More on this story. "NYC car bomb suspect pleads guilty, calls it `war,'" by Tom Hays and Larry Neumeister for Associated Press, June 21 (thanks to Pamela Geller):
NEW YORK - Calling himself a Muslim soldier, a defiant Pakistan-born U.S. citizen pleaded guilty Monday to carrying out the failed Times Square car bombing and left a sinister warning that unless the U.S. leaves Muslim lands alone, "we will be attacking U.S."Faisal Shahzad entered the plea in U.S. District Court in Manhattan just days after a federal grand jury indicted him on 10 terrorism and weapons counts, some of which carry mandatory life sentences. He pleaded guilty to them all....
U.S. District Judge Miriam Goldman Cedarbaum challenged Shahzad repeatedly with questions such as whether he looked at the people in Times Square, especially the children, to see who they were or whether he really built the bomb by himself. He repeatedly insisted he acted without help from others in the U.S. and built the bomb "all by myself."
"One has to understand where I'm coming from," Shahzad said calmly. "I consider myself ... a Muslim soldier."
The 30-year-old described his effort to set off a bomb in an SUV he parked in Times Square on May 1, saying he chose the warm Saturday night because it would be crowded with people he could injure or kill. He said he conspired with the Pakistan Taliban, which provided more than $15,000 to fund his operation and five days of explosives training late last year and early this year, just months after he became a U.S. citizen....
"I was waiting to hear a sound but I didn't hear a sound. ... So I walked to Grand Central and went home," he said.
The judge repeatedly interrupted Shahzad, including when he said his plot was to retaliate against the U.S. and the forces of up to 50 other countries that had "attacked the Muslim lands."
Cedarbaum said: "But not the people who were walking in Times Square that night. Did you look around to see who they were?"
"Well, the people select the government," Shahzad said. "We consider them all the same. The drones, when they hit ... "
Cedarbaum interrupted again: "Including the children?"
Shahzad answered: "Well, the drone hits in Afghanistan and Iraq, they don't see children, they don't see anybody. They kill women, children, they kill everybody. It's a war, and in war, they kill people. They're killing all Muslims."
Later, he added: "I am part of the answer to the U.S. terrorizing the Muslim nations and the Muslim people. And, on behalf of that, I'm avenging the attack. Living in the United States, Americans only care about their own people, but they don't care about the people elsewhere in the world when they die."...
Just months after becoming an American citizen Shahzad parks a car bomb in Times Square and then says he is a Muslim soldier and Muslims are at war with America. He sounds pretty rational about this but the judge appears to be having difficulty believing him. Luckily, five days of explosives training is not enough.
Shahzad is a traitor.
The U.S. has declared war on Al Queda, and this fellow was taking instructions and money from Al Queda; he's a traitor.
However, easier to lock him up for the rest of his life on other charges, i guess.
It's interesting that this soldier of Islam is going out of his way again and again to say that he got his training from the Taliban, while his telephone call records just before the attempted mass murder have been traced to a Major in the Pakistani army.
Something stinks!
"Well, the people select the government," Shahzad said. "We consider them all the same. The drones, when they hit ... "
All terrorists have the same excuse.
Hamas, Hezbollah, Fatah etc etc.
Reality.........
Coalition forces target terrorists and innocent people are sometimes killed by accident.
Terrorists target innocent people and innocent people are alaways killed on purpose.
You target innocent people on purpose which makes you a terrorist Shahzad.
Unsuprisingly, but nevertheless annoyingly, when reporting this case on the morning news the BBC referred to Shahzad simply as "an American man" (a Tea Party activist pissed off at BHO, no doubt). No mention of his name or background at all; no indication this was anything to do with islam.
The BBC: kitman vendor to the masses since September 2001. Shameful.
Pakistan and the Pakistani diaspora are two of the main sources of the Islamist terror problem. Here in the UK that's certainly the case.
George Galloway was captured on video whipping up an emotional frenzy amongst a predominantly Muslim crowd (mainly of Bangladeshi origin) some 5000-strong on Sunday, stating that there would be "10,000 dead" if the EDL so much as touched a Muslim woman's hijab or a man's beard. The crowd responded with rapturous applause and later that day 300 young Muslims in the area attacked the police. See here: http://durotrigan.blogspot.com/2010/06/george-galloway-rides-islamist-tiger.html
It seems like it might be time for ICE to suspend processing on all Pakistani émigrés and to thoroughly review those who have recently been granted citizenship. It would also be prudent to reject pending applications for visas including those for persons attached to Pakistani diplomatic missions and commercial groups.
Let the chips fall where they may.
It's certainly time to get serious about this Islamic War against America.
"Unsuprisingly, but nevertheless annoyingly, when reporting this case on the morning news the BBC referred to Shahzad simply as "an American man" (a Tea Party activist pissed off at BHO, no doubt)."

Yeah, they can make themselves feel ok about it because they're not exactly lying, and they can try to make themselves feel better about not giving all the details, because that's in the interests of "community cohesion."
A double-whammy on the public and they feel "ok."
Sad.
Divided loyalties, but muslim first and foremost? It is a question I never hear in Denmark - the answer in some cases will not be to everyones´s liking I fear. The obvious arguments are that they dress differently, have a different religion, cultural background etc etc and so on and why should we take it for granted that they ARE Danes just because they have a citizenship?
As in so many other cases I suppose there are other rules for extremist muslims: they are given more leeway and are not quite traitors but "only" terrorists.
How's the crowd of MSM monkeys parroting the PC/MC line that the planned attack had been motivated by the foreclosure on Shahahahahazad's home, and had nothing to do with mahoundianism, going to react to this?
They tried to cover up for that dirtbag, but the Porki didn't act his part in order to fool those who still might fall for the MSM fairy tales, did it (not he)? Oops.
At least Shahahahazad used a truthful expression to demonstrate what was behind the attempted attack: a MUSLIM soldier.
Not "islamist."
Not "radical islamic."
Not "radical muslim."
MUSLIM, period.
And that's what this whole thing is about.
NEW YORK - Calling himself a Muslim soldier, a defiant Pakistan-born U.S. citizen pleaded guilty Monday to carrying out the failed Times Square car bombing and left a sinister warning that unless the U.S. leaves Muslim lands alone, "we will be attacking U.S."
Why should our soldiers leave Muslim lands when Muslim soldiers are occupying ours. We have merely tens of thousands of soldiers in Muslims lands, while there are millions of allah's soldiers in the West.
No withdrawal from Iraq or Afghanistan, unless their is simultaneous withdrawal of all soldiers on both sides.

There Will Be War

Yeah well forget this presidency. This administration will never stand behind the people of Iran or support them in any kind of meaningful way. BHO has demonstrated his true colors in that arena, and I'm sorry to say I don't think they're yellow. They're worse: They're Pink.
I think the drones are more selective in their targets than a car bomb in a crowded market place like Time Square.
The drones have high tech cameras on board that can zero in on targets from miles away. This way, and with the use of smart missiles, they can hit the targets with precision accuracy. This almost eliminates the killing of innocents.
If there are innocents killed then it is because the enemy have selected innocents to guard them like the cowards they are.
I am part of the answer to the U.S. terrorizing the Muslim nations and the Muslim people. And, on behalf of that, I'm avenging the attack.
His primary motivation (like all islamic terrorists) is that we kuffār refuse (with the exception of the left and our president) to bow to islam. That infuriates them. The rest is just excuse.

You will be interested to know that the most widely read newspaper in the UK (the Sun) has decided to 'censor out' completely the Islamist angle from this story today. The report in the Sun says that Shazad pleaded guilty and that he would do it '100 times over' but completely leaves out any mention of his faith and any mention of his statement about his motives and threats he made about more attacks if the US does not stop interfering in Muslim lands. Sun readers would be completely unaware that this attempted mass murder attack had anything to do with Muslims/Islam.
I also listend to LBC this morning (the main London news station) and although the 7.00am bulletin mentioned the Islamist motivation, all subsequent bulletins (I listened at 7.15, 7.30, 7.45, 8.00 and 8.15) also censored out the Islamist angle.
The issue of the Sun's fairly recent and drastic about turn in its coverage of issues relating to Israel and Muslims can be found here:

Galloway...shouldn't he be arrested for inciting a riot or something?
Shahzad...He must consider himself a martyr, because he has not complained about torture or forced confessions...Maybe he can do that later when the prospect of life in a cell with Bubba dawns on him...Bubba has a way of exerting his own supremacy...
One positive thing - these jihadis are so proud of themselves, and so thrilled to be seen as "soldiers for allah", that they often plead guilty right away, thereby saving the taxpayers the expense of a trial, at least.
We need more "Muslim Soldiers" like him-bungling and incompetent.
Very interesting observation about the BBC.
Indian "secular" media, for all it's dhimmitude, is still slightly (but slightly) better than BBC. Here such terrorists are identified as "a man of Pakistani origin", Pakistani origin being the part highlighted the most.
When Indian Muslims commit acts of terrorism, their identities too are not sought to be misrepresented, like BBC does.
But just after that, their dhimmitude also kicks in and they go on and on about how Islam has nothing to do with it and these are extremists, just like extremists of any other religion.
Sanjay
I think you could be right in thinking that there may be a case for prosecuting Galloway for inciting violence duh_swami. He seems willing to play with fire and to hell with the consequences. I really don't understand the man's psychology. All I can think of is that he must possess a pathological hatred of the English, and that this underpins his desire to mingle with the Mohammedan mob.
We recognize that even with the Geneva Convention excepting uniforms of partisans or, even forces invaded without time to engarb as military. So this clown wants to dramatize himself as a "soldier"; with all the discipline, tradition and martial glory.
Remember, how we deal with soldiers who 'elect' (note the term) to appear as non-combatants. Major John Andre, handler of Benedict Arnold, had the choice to wear his uniform. He elected to NOT do so. We hung him.
As the bomb in Times Square did little harm, West Point was not lost. The offences, however, were quite serious; as the intended outcome would have lethal.
This man in no soldier. Frankly, let's see how he stands up among the crimnal class, too.
The 30-year-old described his effort to set off a bomb in an SUV he parked in Times Square on May 1, saying he chose the warm Saturday night because it would be crowded with people he could injure or kill.

Islamic "values" in action.
I think the great anomaly of our time is the disconnect between what any sensible person can easily see (and so many do) vs. the refusal of our "leaders" to acknowledge it and deal with it. The urgency and severity of the islamic threat is such that denying its existence--and its insidious nature--is tantamount to cultural suicide. But our "leaders" continue to deny and shamefully submit.
The judge in this case is a good example; she had this muslim stand there and tell her the unvarnished truth--and she just couldn't believe it! And you know that she went away reassuring herself with, "This was just one extremist nut." (You know, like the "unhappy-about-health-care Tea Party Nut," that the lemmings were praying-for) Your honor, ignorance is no excuse! Denial could be fatal!
In order to survive, one must correctly interpret changing realities and adapt to them.
Assumptions and solutions that worked a decade or a generation ago will not suffice with this new type of enemy in this new type of war. Yesterday's "extremism" has become today's "mainstream" for our aggressive islamic enemies. Our brand of "extremism" here on JW must become tomorrow's mainstream- thnking if we hope to survive. As the late Barry Goldwater said, "Extremism in the defence of liberty is no vice!"
Addapt or die--what'll it be?
"One has to understand where I'm coming from," Shahzad said calmly. "I consider myself ... a Muslim soldier."
Therefore when the fighting begins, I can be found hiding behind women and children.
George, it's not just our leaders in denial.
But, Hesp, they're the ones who can and should do something about it, no? Is that not what LEADING is about?
What about Muslims killing Muslims,Shahaz?More Muslims have been killed by their own than by others
