BP may face probe over release of Lockerbie jihad bomber

Dhimmitude for oil. "BP may face probe over bomber's release," by Jesse Solomon for CNN, July 13 (thanks to all who sent this in):

(CNN) -- A group of U.S. lawmakers have called for an investigation into whether BP may have played a role in lobbying for the release of Abdelbaset al Megrahi to secure an oil contract with the Libyan government.

Megrahi, now 58, was convicted and sentenced to life in prison for the 1988 bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 which killed 270 people, including 189 Americans.

He was released from a Scottish prison on compassionate grounds in August after he was diagnosed with prostate cancer.

"Reports have surfaced indicating that a 2007 oil agreement may have influenced the U.K. and Scottish governments' positions concerning Mr. Megrahi's release in 2009," wrote Democratic Sen. Frank Lautenberg of New Jersey in a letter to the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations on Monday.

"The families of the victims of Pan Am flight 103 deserve to know whether justice took a back seat to commercial interests in this case," Lautenberg said....

Indeed.

Even if BP is found to be culpable, it was the spineless politicians that released Megrahi and under a fraudulent pretext.

Similarly, should it ever surface that CAIR or some other tentacle of the Muslim Brotherhood lobbied successfully for considerations favourable to Islam and therefore detrimental to the USA and human progress, should we revile that organisation or the dhimmi politicians that ultimately allowed it to happen?

The campaign to expose the deliberate subterfuge on a grand scale by the (ex)UK Labour government, the Scottish government, BP, Libya on the al-Megrahi release must be kept up:

Just when you thought things couldn't possibly get any worse for British Petroleum.

But I don't think anything will come from this. Remember what happened in Oklahoma City in 1995, and how Clinton was able to deep six critical facts on that. That was a total cover cover up, a complete success for Washington.

Complete success was not possible with Flight 103, because against the better judgement of British leadership at the time, the mass murderer was caught.

But, given the skill sets in Washington, they should be able to squelch Lautenberg's proposed investigation.

This one's gonna be a tough call for Prez Osama: he's faced with the temptation of being able to further skewer BP but must weight that against the risk of having a frank and open discussion of a Moslem nation-state's collusion in celebrating terrorism.

And we know two things for sure:

1) Barack Hussein likes terrorists.

2) Barack Hussein does not like frank and open discussion.

His style of governance is more old-school Marxist African Dictator, kinda like Jomo Kenyatta, for whom Barack Hussein's dad worked until being fired for arrogance, incompetence and drunkeness.

Will the death penalty be reinstated in the UK, just so that Kenny MacAskill can be hanged for TREASON? It certainly won't, but I think it should, if just for this one execution.

I don't have to wonder how that dirtbag can sleep at night, after having rewarded a mass-murderer with that compassionate-release load of crap. Those capable of making such decisions are spineless and devoid of any sense of moral. If MacAskill had been asked to donate a daughter or his own mother to a harem in Libya as part of the deal, that would have been done without any second thoughts if we consider his other actions.

The day that scum was released from prison was one of the worst for our country. And all were lied to aswell told he only had months to live (BOO HOO) those people on the pan am flight and in lockerbie itself never got that option!
Of course this was done for oil,the traitors in power(no matter which party) dont care about us.They are not the ones who deal with the islamic threat every single day! They ave bullet proof cars and bodyguards. The only islamic people they meet are the ones who are buying the british soul.

It's the right time for this since the American people (and all those living near the Gulf of Mexico) are crying for BP's blood after the horrific incidents these last few months.

True that, APF. However, I imagine Obama is going to "stand with the Muslims" on this one. I would be very surprised if this probe gets any official backing—or very much press, either.

If BP did indeed have anything to do with this most shameful of affairs, then eternal shame on BP. Nor could anyone in right conscience, if this accusation proves true, any longer hold BP stock and still say they are a moral person. I am aware that many Brits (and others) do have BP stock in their pension plans. As involved and difficult as it would be, Brits who do, assuming BP is culpable here, should find it overwhelmingly incumbent upon themselves to do everything they can to get BP the hell out of their portfolios or, at the very least, rid BP of ANYONE who bargained with the devil.

It's too bad to see a nice guy like Bolden dragged into this.

But he gets no sympathy from me. First, why in the holy hell did he grant an interview to a pro-Jihad terror network in the first place?

Second, if he's gonna talk about the wonders of Moslem science and engineering, it's his responsibility to explicate on the widespread opinion that what little there was derived from respective pre-Islamic cultures and promptly withered away under the glower of Allah.

Responsibilities not met = irresponsible person. When you're "elite" and supposedly so smart then the Well I just didn't realize... excuse doesn't cut it. This net should be cast over not only Bolden, but hundreds of members of this administration and those preceding it. And over our news entertainers, too.

Megrahi is still alive? It was reported he only had "months to live" when he was released....it's been almost a year since.

Technically alive perhaps, but don't forget that all mosque rats are already brain dead.

We gotta have oil...Lots and lots of oil...Look what happened to the 'Tin Man' when his can ran out...The whole trick of the oil business is to never let the can run out, and make big bucks while you are at it...There is nothing wrong with this until unworthy profit motivation crosses the line from good business to unethical, immoral, or illegal activities...
Excessive greed, not necessity pushes that...

A group of U.S. lawmakers have called for an investigation into whether BP may have played a role in lobbying for the release of Abdelbaset al Megrahi to secure an oil contract with the Libyan government.

It appears that this is so...If it actually is the case...'let the chips fall where they may'..

I have no knowledge about the case. However, businesses should not sell out their patriotism for monitary gain.

If this assusation against BP proves to be true then we also need to expose the government individuals that worked with the BP executives to get this done. If this is true, we are seeing another example of government-private business partnerships gone awry.

According to the FOX video I just viewed on this, it's 4 demoncat senators pushing this inquiry. Isn't this unusual for democrats, to be oh so concerned about terrorists receiving their just due? Not when considering that the leader of their party has been all over BP for a few months.

Where were these senators when the guy was released back to Libya in the first place??

Exactly.
