Chicago hotel backs out of hosting Islamic supremacist pro-Sharia conference

Good for the Marriott Oak Brook. It will interesting to see which "moderate" Muslim advocacy groups speak out now in defense of Hizb ut-Tahrir and its conference, since Hizb ut-Tahrir openly supports Sharia and the restoration of the caliphate, with all that means for the denial of rights to women and non-Muslims. CAIR's Brave Ahmed Rehab responded with roadblocks and detours when asked about them on Fox last year.

"Illinois hotel backs out of hosting Muslim group," by Sophia Tareen for Associated Press, July 11:

CHICAGO -- A controversial Muslim group has canceled its annual U.S. conference after a suburban Chicago hotel backed out of hosting the event.

American members of Hizb ut-Tahrir had planned a 2010 conference at the Chicago Marriott Oak Brook on Sunday.

But organizer Ayman Hamed says the hotel sent a late cancellation notice without explanation. The hotel didn't return calls for comment.

The self-described political organization wants to establish a worldwide Islamic state. It's banned in Turkey and other countries.

The group doesn't advocate violence and isn't considered a terrorist organization by the U.S....

And that shows the weakness and short-sightedness of evaluating these groups solely on the basis of whether or not they employ or advocate violence.

Robert,
Thanks for the link regarding Ahmed Rehab. As soon as I saw the article I thought that was the same group that held a conference last year. It is nice to know this years hate fest was shut down. I am sure they won't give up and are looking at alternative venues as we speak. All in all it's a good sign that people are getting fed up.

Won't Obama let them use a room at the White House? Go straight to the top, men, don't waste your time with weakling hotel owners!

"a suburban Chicago hotel backed out of hosting the event."
Did I hear Islamophoooooobia?
http://crossmuslims.blogspot.com/2010/04/are-you-islamophobe.html

This is truly amazing! I still can't believe they did it. CAIR never has a problem hosting its annual hate fests but it's hell to find a venue to host anything deemed 'anti-islamic'. All CAIR has to do is call the hotel and whine about possible backlash against the muslim community, islamophobia, hate, bigotry, ignorance, etc. This is very good news but I'm sure they'll find another place for their 'conference'. They always do.

I am skeptical that the event's been cancelled, only that they lost this venue. On the Hizb America website they say they're looking for another venue for either the 18th or 25th. Can anybody confirm that the event has actually been cancelled?

Haha, Muslims! No hate conference for you.

Good for Marriott for having a spine and doing what is right.

It was a Marriott hotel in Indonesia that suffered a suicide murder-'martyr' bombing on *Friday* (yes, the Muslim 'holy' day), 16 July 2009.

http://www.jihadwatch.org/2009/07/reports-of-fatalities-in-jakarta-bombings.html

(The same Marriott hotel, in Jakarta, was bombed in 2003).

And a Marriott hotel was bombed in Pakistan in 2008.

You would think that any Marriott hotel anywhere in the world would think twice, by now, before allowing Muslim organisations to hold meetings on the premises...

I should have said - it's *about time* that a Marriott hotel decided that it wouldn't allow a bunch of Muslims onto its premises. Especially given the amount of wilful damage that sharia-pushing Muslims 'high' on allah have caused to Marriott property in other parts of the world.

Perhaps letters from American jihadwatchers to whoever's in charge of the Chicago Marriott Oak Brook, expressing appreciation for their having shown good sense and healthy self-preservation instincts and regard for the safety of all their non-Muslim guests, would be in order.

You could mention those Muslim mass-murder raids that took place on Marriott hotels elsewhere in the world.

Then, too, drop a broad hint about the real danger associated with permitting Muslims onto the premises. The jihadist suicide murder-'martyr' in Jakarta had *checked in to the hotel* as a guest; the jihad plotters had also had an inside 'contact', a Muslim who worked for the hotel as a *florist*, of all things.

And that, of course, is the rub: *any* individual Mohammedan, not only the one checking into a hotel as a guest, but the anonymous person working behind the scenes as dishwasher, toilet cleaner, florist, bed-maker, bellhop, concierge...may be or become a jihadi, or may be in cahoots with jihadis. There is no real way to tell.

That is a danger more all-pervasive than that presented by an openly self-identified sharia-pushing caliphate-dreaming organisation booking rooms for a conference.

Saying 'no' to Hizb ut Tahrir when they come looking to book rooms and a conference or banquet hall, is good.

But recognising that it would be smart not to hire a Mohammedan to work inside the hotel, on the grounds that he or she belongs to an organisation - the Ummah - whose adherents all over the world have an amply-demonstrated track record of suddenly, unpredictably and murderously 'going jihad', would be even better.

For sure Dumbledores. The Mumbai attack, I seem to remember, involved an 'insider' who scouted-out the layout and runnings of the hotel.

Did Marriott not refuse Geert wilders in Florida?
Because of that, I vowed never to stay in the Marriott Hotel again.

Finally, some signs of sanity.
I hope that very soon all hotels and venues will say no for islamic hate-fests.

Well, the upside is that I won't have to travel home and spend the time standing outside the hotel with a placard, instead of visiting family and friends. Yet there is a downside and it's this: I think that it may take me standing outside a hotel with a placard for my family and friends --mostly suburban Republicans-- to understand that this is a issue serious enough to spend outside in the hot, sticky Chicago summer weather, very likely exposing one's self to abuse from the conventioneers.

Perhaps it is very much as it has been suggested concerning the disposition of conservative pundits: They refuse recognize what's being said because the implications are very disturbing. We have not only failed to address the outrages of 9/11, we are squandering manpower and finances in inappropriate military actions. And our enemy continue to infiltrate, insinuate his way into Western governments and societies, using our religious tolerance as a shield on one arm and his own religious intolerance as a sword in the other.

Good for the Chicago Marriott Oak Brook! Makes me want to stay there. Hope it's not too far from Wrigley Field.
