Feel the love. "Turkish church defaced with Islamist graffiti," by Mehmet Ali Bulun for Hurriyet Daily News, July 14 (thanks to C. Cantoni):

Police have started an investigation after a suspected group of people defaced the façade of the 1,700-year-old Mor Jacob Syriac Orthodox Church in Nusaybin, in the southeastern province of Mardin, with pro-Islamic slogans.

The offenders allegedly defaced the stone walls of the church on Monday with various slogans, such as "Clear off, bastards," "Clear off, Zionist dogs," "Heretics, lay off," and "Zionist powers, clear off," in Turkish and, "Allah u Muhammed," and "Prophet Muhammad, fight the infidels and hypocrites," in Arabic.

The police will fingerprint the lid of a paint tin found on the ground at the site of the graffiti and will also fingerprint the wire fence surrounding the church, which is currently undergoing restoration.

Nusaybin Mayor Ayşe Gökkan and members of the town council also went to the church upon hearing of the vandalism, denouncing the act....

Hmm..I can see Erdogan holding a can of spray paint.

Tolerance through intimidation.

Muslims are also increasingly involved in crime and intimidation in the West, wherever they have parked themselves, due to the foolishness of their host countries. Here's a summary of Muslims' brazenly anti-Semitic behavior in Germany:

http://www.spiegel.de/international/germany/0,1518,706245,00.html#ref=nlint

As the story shows, the neo-Nazis and Muslims are working on a common agenda in Germany. The irony is that the Muslims around the world lose no time in labeling critics of Islam as Nazis and racists.

Yes. "Clear off, Zionist dogs," Muslims in what is at present Muslim-dominated Turkey wrote on a 1,700-year-old church.

They really should have expanded on their theme.

What about this (also suitable for smearing on syngagogues in Israel or Hindu temples in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, or Buddhist temples in Bangladesh or Thailand):

"Clear off, Zionist [Christian, Hindu, Buddhist, Your Choice Here] dogs. We were here first."

..................

Why—a rational person might ask—would such a message be spray painted *on a church*?

Several reasons. Firstly, there are no more than a random handful of Jews left in all of Turkey, while Christians—though less than 1% of the Turkish population after the waves of massacres and deportations in the 19th and 20th centuries—make up an at least generally recognizable population.

Secondly, Muslims tend to conflate non-Muslims with each other—Christians, Jews, Hindus—hey, they're all Infidels. It is also a warning to Infidels not to support each other in any way against Muslims.

Then there is the general contempt for "Jahiliyya"—anything from the pre-Islamic period of "ignorance". This church—at 1,700 years old—certainly fits that category. Turkey is, in fact, a treasure-trove of "Jahiliyya", with a rich history stretching from before Troy through the Byzantine Empire and beyond—not a history most Muslim Turks have the least interest in or respect for.

And then, of course, there is the turning by Israel's supposed "staunch ally", as Turkey shakes off more and more of its mitigating Kemalism, and turns back to "pure Islam" under Erdogan's baneful aegis.

It must be the actions of those notorious "misunderstanders" of Islam.

Not defending Turks (Turkish men disgust me to the core as much as any other mohammadan men), but considering some of the slogans were written in Arabic my money is on the slogan-jihadists being Kurdish Turks. Plus, Southeastern Turkey is overrun with Kurds.

The average Turkish Turk or "Ottoman" Turk can't read (other than certain suras from mein kuranmpf) or write Arabic (although they can parrot it phonetically during prayer). Kurdish Turks are more akin to their Arabic co-religionists (masters) in language (they can read, write and speak Arabic but are illiterate in Turkish), customs and behaviours.

tanstaafl :
If my child ever told me, " but mom, I misunderstood what the that meeeeeeeeeeeeant....." I wouldn't buy it. So, why do we buy such nonsense from grown ups?

The picture above just says Zionist Dogs... It must have been referring to some of the other ones.

Only other pic I could find reads "Get out, you without honor." Ironic.

pro-islamic slogans painted in "jihad green" for emphasis ...

Mardin Province has a primarily Arab, and thus Arabic-speaking, population, and borders Syria. This would account for the slogans being in Arabic.

This is how things are phrased in the article you linked to:

"New York – There are TWO New HOLIDAYS – They are Muslim holidays, Eid Ul-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, and Eid Ul-Adha, which celebrates the end of the pilgrimage to Mecca"

Well, that's a whitewash—Eid Ul-Adha is the vicious Muslim "festival of the sacrifice", and is "celebrated" with large-scale butchery and blood running in the streets all over Dar-al-Islam:

And here's one of the most disturbing holiday cards you are ever likely to see:

The last link takes you to a cheerful goat holding a chopper and wishing everyone a happy eid. What a perfect symbol of a witless dhimmi.

remember, those Christians have to ask permission to clean up or repair the damage from this threatening vandalism.

As far as i know about turkish language, this does not mean "clear off, sionists" but rather "sionists are dogs".
This doesn't minimize the fact that Turkish government and common people are more and more turning back to fundamentals of islam.i.e. pure antisemitism.I read a few weeks ago on a wall in Istanbul "we are all Adolf Hitler" ("hepimiz A. Hitleriz")counterfeiting our "we are all americans" further to 9/11.Who could deny now, unless blind or rather stupid, the close relationship between nazism and fundamental islam, those two death loving ideologies?
Every one should now be aware that Turkey is now not any more on our side and is deliberatly tryng to wipe out all traces of Kemal Atatürk heritage.
At the same time one should not forget the fact that in Turkey many people are truly republican and secularist who are now more and more under the pressure of islamists and shall be sooner or later treated like ennemies of islam and are already in danger and should be supported as much as we can.
"Islamo-lucidity" is every day more than necessary and urgent!
