Dutch government helping pay for Islamic supremacist mega-mosque at Ground Zero -- with Dutch taxpayer money

Yes, you read that right. And Wilders, only Wilders, is standing up to this breathtaking short-sighted idiocy: "'Netherlands Subsidising Mosque by Ground Zero,'" from NIS News, July 21 (thanks to Fjordman):

AMSTERDAM, 21/07/10 - The Party for Freedom (PVV) is demanding clarification by the Dutch government regarding reports that the Netherlands is co-financing the construction of a mosque a stone's throw away from Ground Zero in New York with 1 million dollars of Dutch taxpayers' money.

On the foreign ministry's website, it says that a subsidy of 1 million dollars has been awarded to the American Society for Muslim Advancement (ASMA). This organisation is, in partnership with the Islamic organisation Cordoba Initiative, responsible for the Islamic centre including a mosque, costing 100 million dollars, to be built near Ground Zero.

The PVV is demanding an explanation and terms the plans to build a mosque right next to Ground Zero absurd and an insult to relatives of the thousands of victims who lost their lives on 11 September 2001. The party wants the subsidy to ASMA to be withdrawn immediately.

I thought all funding was only to be from non-foreign donations?

If the Dutch are complicit in this homicidal idiocy, where do you think al-Saud stands on the issue?

I can not believe this. It's all true; but I still can not believe it.

We are paying for something that will bite us and our children.

It reminds me of the Nazis murdering the Jewish community council (Judenrat) leaders in wartime Poland, then sending their replacements a bill for the bullets used in their predecessors' murders.

Sorry. But this is just insane.

The al sauds are having a good laugh as they thank allah for making the infidals dig their own graves so that eventualy the muslims can bury them.

I can't believe it... But then again, yes I can; they have been so islamisized by the invasion of their country, they are now supporting the very same here. Or trying to, since doubtless this is yet another example of the stealth-jihad; where so called "Dutch" all be it from the influx of war torn Africa and else where have been infiltrated. Well the kindness has come home to roost, shria is next. As for the house of saud... Well they are laughing all the way to the bank. As more of these "secret" funding sources come to light I would not be in the least suprised to see the likes of Iran or their surragates in the global jihad " Investing" in this abomination...!

I guess the dhimmi Dutch government wants to see the rest of Western Civilization go down the tubes with the Netherlands and Western Europe. What suicidal fools they are! As an American, I consider this donation to the savages a scathing insult. They have all but given their country to the primitive invaders but they have no right to advance the muslim agenda in America. This is unbelievable, just unbelievable!

This is not the work of the Dutch, the Dutch nation, the ruling party, or even the ministry in charge of giving out the money: this is due specifically to a small group of individuals, maybe four or five people, one or two of whom will be ultimately responsible for pushing this in the first place. The problem with finding out who is that one might feel compelled to voice some concern to people who actually have names, faces, and real lives. The Dutch and the Dutch nation and the Dutch government is pretty easy to blame for any number of things. No one has to do more. Just write that the Dutch are responsible, and there is nothing more one can do. Really, what can a typist do about "The Dutch" or the Dutch government or a ministry in the Dutch government? Not a thing; and therefore nothing will happen. But if one were to find out the who in particular, then one might feel ashamed of oneself that one knows and could do more than type but really one wishes no such thing but to type. It sort of feels good to vent. It feels very bad to know one could do something more but won't.

Maybe the Saudis are using the Dutch as intermediaries.

Look at how they are all over Rauf, and his projects.

"Search for Common Ground[ co founder of US-Muslim Engagement Project]: Media Outreach for Reconciliation Activists

At a meeting convened by [another one]HRH Prince Hassan bin Talal in 2003, leaders of interfaith and intercultural dialogue centres in the US and in predominantly Muslim countries expressed a desire to learn how to better engage Western mass media so that they could become a resource for commentary on Islamic-Western relations, particularly during times of crisis.

Included in the meeting were the Centre for Civilizational Dialogue (Malaysia), Majlis el-Hassan (Jordan), the Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding (USA), the Media and Dialogue Center (Kuwait), the Interfaith Center (USA), the Institute for Interfaith Dialogue (Indonesia), among others.

Media training workshops were conducted in Indonesia, the Middle East and Washington, DC. The trainings combine "common ground" conflict transformation techniques with media skill, the latter to include communication as well as public relations training. The media skills cover issuing press releases, giving television and radio interviews and writing op-eds, with tips and tricks and real-time case studies. The trainers conducting the workshops include local and international media professionals as well as Search for Common Ground staff."

Again, I want to recommend my book (yes, I know, shameless self-promotion, but it's exactly about all this): Radical State: How Jihad Is Winning Over Democracy in the West

http://amzn.to/cKlafS

Book Description
Following the attacks of September 11, 2001, America and its allies pledged to spread democracy throughout the Muslim world, and to secure its place and future in the West. But have they really succeeded in defeating jihad?

Product Description
In Radical State: How Jihad Is Winning Over Democracy in the West, author Abigail R. Esman argues that in large measure, it is actually jihad which has emerged victorious over democracy, not only because of the actions of Muslim terrorists, but because of our own response to extremist Islam in the West. With the best of intentions, Western (European) countries have permitted antidemocratic, ultraconservative Islamic beliefs and traditions to flourish in their societies as they've responded to the influx of Muslim immigrants to their shores, largely as a result of the guest-worker programs which began in the 1960s and 1970s across Europe. But this multicultural approach has only backfired, creating cultural wars in which even the most intolerant and undemocratic of belief systems and values have been permitted, as governments have turned a blind eye to such atrocities as honor killings, anti-Semitism, the spread of literature extolling violence, and calls for the destruction of the democratic state.

Esman focuses her narrative on the Netherlands, oft regarded as the most free, stable, and tolerant nation in the West, the paragon of democracy and tolerance. Using Holland as an example, she demonstrates the collapse of democratic values that has occurred in other Western countries—including America—as we struggle against radical Islam. In doing so, she shows how the Western response to the threat of radicalization has at times gone to dangerous extremes, counterbalancing the multiculturalists' indulgence of radical Islam with the creation of restrictive, nearly-totalitarian laws and measures that are as destructive and toxic to our future-to free thought, free speech, and equal rights. Radical State uniquely articulates the dissolution of democratic values that have resulted from the actions of both left- and right-wing approaches to the problem. More importantly, the book strives to resolve the critical question of "what went wrong"—because to set things right again requires understanding how it all broke apart—and we must set it right, or jihad's victory over democracy will be complete, and sooner than we may realize.

When I read your copy I sort of manage to put out of my mind how cute you are. I can do that because you're smart and you write well, and also because I take time to bang my head and remind myself that I'm serious guy with a serious mission in life.

Excuse me while I bang my head on the desk.

Best regards,

Dag Walker, Vancouver, Canada.

Yes, I would still appreciate your work if you weren't cute. That has nothing to do with anything.

(Bang. Doh! Bang. Doh!)

As if we don't have any problems at all, that we can give our money away for that what isn't right at all. Moslims should stand far far away from ground zero and the fact that they are not doing that is showing the lack of tact and wisdom, lack of heart, lack of feelings.
And in the time that our old people don't get the care they need because of lack of money in Netherland we give our money away for Moslims who are rich anough to do what they want to do all over the world. That's like water bringing to the ocean.I hope Wilders will talk about that a lot and let the people in the world waking up.Are they in come, deaf, or what?

@sonofwalker
I could be tilting at windmills here, but if one tip-toed through the tulips one might arrive at Rotterdam. Who knows? I don't, ain't got a clue.

I meant are they in coma, deaf or what. One letter can make a big difference

New York was New Amsterdam before it was New York.

Pray that Wilders and the PVV find out who, exactly, within the Dutch government and/ or public service, signed off on this donation to ASMA; and that having found out they (Wilders and PVV) will - figuratively speaking - hold the fools'/ traitors' feet to the fire.

not an act of friendship with the America people

totally insane

sonofwalker, the Dutch people are not guilty here. But the Dutch government is.

Looking for 3 or 4 guilty people is worse than looking for a needle in a hay stack. But blame the entire government, put real pressure on it, and it will start moving and soon discover the guilty ones.

Generally, blaming it on just 3-4 people in the Dutch government is like blaming 9-11 on just 19 hijackers. No, sorry, there is much more than that involved here.

I think the best way to proceed is to write letters to the Dutch prime minister, Queen Beatrux and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The letters should be polite but firm, and stress that this is an unfriendly act towards a friendly country.

I think it would also help to contact Dutch newspapers. Especially if you speak Dutch.

I guess I will have to give wearing wooden shoes...But that's ok the splinters hurt anyway...

The post above is supposed to say 'give up' wearing...

What a bummer.
I forwarded it to Dutch family and friends, who are also enraged.
I am going to trying to send this article from Robert, if it is okay, by a comment in some Dutch newspapers.
I made more comments there and they are posted, except by one newspaper "de Telegraaf".
I get all the time an answer back from them, that it is against their rules and that it will not be added as a comment. It are comments against Islam.
This newspaper is from Amsterdam and their previous mayor, Job Cohen, was really an Islam appeaser. They always made a joke about him having tea with the Turks and the Moroccans.
Lot of the Dutch felt he ruined Amsterdam.
He is almost like Michael Bloomberg here in the USA.
Strange these Jewish men, but Islam appeasers.
Do they think by appeasement behavior, that he mentality of extreme Islam is going to disappear or the violent passages in the Koran, kill the Infidel, kill the Jew is going away?

When it comes to us kuffar confronting this megamosque, this monumental expression of Islamic supremacism and supersessionism, we are all in this together, whether we all realize it or not.

According to the Dutch foreign ministry website http://www.minbuza.nl/en/Key_Topics/Millennium_Development_Goals_MDGs/Dutch_aim_for_MDG_3/MDG3_Fund/List_of_45_Projects/American_Society_for_Muslim_Advancement_ASMA
There was a subside of €1 million (not dollars but euros) paid to the American Society for Muslim Advancement the organisation that is involved in building the ground zero mosque.
But from the website it appears the money was intended for a different project concerning Muslim woman.
So while clarification is certainly required as to what happened to the money.
It doesn't seem directly related to the building of the ground zero mosque.
But the fact € 1 million was paid to ASMA in the first place is ridiculous.

Well, perhaps you are capable of ignoring such things, but not all of us can.

I spoke with a polite man at the Dutch Embassy in D.C., who said, as above, that the funds had already been given to the Muslim society, that they had been intended for women in developing countries and were part of millenium development goals. When I asked, he said that there was strict accounting as to where the funds would be spent. I asked that the Dutch government not give funds to Muslims in the U.S. I did speak to him about a stealth jihad; this is infuriating. At least he had to hear some direct objection.

De Telegraaf is actually considered a more right wing paper and they also brought this news in big chocolate leters on their front page.
But you are correct they moderate quite heavily i've also had comments not added.
It's from this paper that I got the link to the foreign ministry website with the subside to ASMA.
From the website it seems everyone is jumping the gun, as the €1 million appears intended for a project to quote the website...

"WISE Compact will work with local and national women leaders and the organizations they work in. The programme aims to provide: a) a global infrastructure for shared work among Muslim women’s groups, organisations, institutions, and networks, b) religious context for Muslim women’s dialogue about, and advocacy for, their rights, c) an institutional voice for gender equality, and d) accessible knowledge about effective ways to promote the equitable ethic of Islam. The activities planned for each of the results include development of WISE Compact design, develop partnerships with Muslim women’s organisations to develop learning and training resources, implement training with marginalised women and girls and create a comprehensive WISE Compact sustainability plan. The programme will focus on Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Egypt, India, Jordan, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Palestinian Administrative Areas, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, and Turkey."

Sp on first appearance it seems to have nothing to do with the ground zero mosque but it is the same organisation.

SOME PERSPECTIVE

On the one hand, the Dutch are afraid of the anti-Islamic party, since they think it is extreme. Yes, the party has an unprecedented more-than-30% of the electorate, BUT, very few want to join their would-be coalition because it goes against the Dutch liberal grain. The party can stop things with this percentage, but not introduce anything.

On the other hand, many more of the Dutch have been pushed beyond what they can stomach with aggressive, violent Muslims, who are so often full of threats which they have proven are not idle.

The funding idea of Park51 (Area51) came from the PREVIOUS Dutch government. The PRESENT herd of politicians is afraid of that what they call the anti-Islamic party will gain more popularity because of the backing of the cultural centre / mosque in New York, that they may now vote to repeal the backing.

Or that is, at least, what a good Dutch friend of mine, predicts will happen. But, then, he said, "We will have to see."

.
FOLLOW THE TERRORISM, THROWING CORDOBA HOUSE DEVELOPER IMAM FEISAL ABDUL RAUF IN PRISON

TWO WAYS TO STOP CORDOBA HOUSE:

1. If it can be proven that the project developer of the Cordoba House (Park 51), the imam, Feisal Abdul Rauf, is not only a terrorist sympathiser, but someone who supports the terrorists of 9/11, then the Cordoba House project can, in law, be stopped. Am I not correct? /// CBS news, amazingly, had a great story last night, citing the imam's hatred of the USA as the USA. This is still downloadable via iTunes. He said: "The United States policies were an accessory to the crime [9/11] that happened." This, in itself, is a direct instigation of further terrorist activity against the USA, activity analogous to what happened on 9/11.

2. After my last comment about this, in which I said, “Follow the Money!”, the New York gubernatorial candidate called for an investigation to do exactly that. Great. I think it is not possible for human nature that at least one of those who gave financial backing to the 9/11 terrorism would not follow this up with money for Cordoba House (Park 51). Find out what Feisal knew and when. The effort to declare the building a land-mark won’t stop it from being used as a cultural centre / mosque, but any hint of common funding will bring the project to a halt.

This is from a Jihadwatch post from 2006 about WISE.

"NEW YORK (Reuters) - Muslim feminists from around the world vowed to create the first women's council to interpret the Koran and overcome two stereotypes about their religion: Muslims are terrorists and Islam oppresses women."

Marisol further points out "Here's a pointless, feel-good public relations stunt organized in order to dull Western senses of the many troubling aspects of Islamic teachings . . ."

Might it not also be a fund raising device ostensibly to help women's rights, but is then blended into the Abdul Rauf general fund (see "Short on Allah Dollars")which then funds unrelated projects like the Ground Zero Mosque?

http://www.jihadwatch.org/2006/11/muslim-feminists-in-ny-want-to-start-quran-council.html

Do not give money to the Rauf's, or their groups.

Guys, guys--we have to suppress our raging hormones here, and apply our cojones to the mission at hand--that is, to stop this Iman Rauf dude from completing the destruction and desacration begun by girlie-man Mohamed Atta on 9/11/01!
