Dutch leaving Afghanistan, Taliban pleased

Which is not to say that they ought not to leave. What did they hope to accomplish there in the first place? With no clear mission or goal, and no understanding of the jihad doctrine or Sharia, the whole thing was foredoomed. "Taliban 'greet' Dutch on Afghan pullout," from AFP, July 30 (thanks to Twostellas):

THE HAGUE: The Taliban has congratulated the Netherlands government for the imminent pullout of their troops from Afghanistan, according to a newspaper interview with a spokesman from the group.

"We hope that other countries with troops stationed in Afghanistan will follow the Netherlands example and withdraw their troops," said Qari Yusuf Ahmadij, who was described as the Taliban's spokesman for west and south Afghanistan. This was said in an interview given to the Dutch daily Volkskrant.

The deployment of about 1,950 Dutch troops in Afghanistan ends after four years on Sunday amid concerns about the void it will leave....

"Once again we call on European countries that have soldiers in Afghanistan to leave the country. Because it is not your war, but a war of the United States, which aims to reach their imperialistic objectives in the world and especially in this region," he said.

Right. Because for them, Islamic imperialism is the only acceptable kind.

I applaud the Dutch for leaving . They have perhaps realized that it's a waste of time and money to keep running around this hell hole while they are getting shot at and murdered by the Porkie supported Taliban.

While they are restricted from doing their jobs by the rules of engagment.

While the Bama administration lavishes the Porkie ISI with even more money and support.

While afghanistan imposes Sharia laws and is almost as restricive as the talban in freedoms. Who the hell are they fighting and for what reason?

Well, they had the Srebrenica experience to draw upon.
Danish military certainly could have made good use of a bit of that luck :-(

As a side note, I see jihadwatch.org has pretty much doubled its audience in the last 2 weeks, to become as popular as michellemalkin.com whing is ranked 6000 worldwide. This is truly fantastic and I congratulate Robert and his aides for reaching such a momentum. It gives us hope...Take good care of yorself Robert, you are da man.

This may please the Taliban. They may think they have accomplished their aim. But in the end, Afghanistan will remain a mess, and if the other NATO forces leave, it will an Islamic mess for Muslims to fight over, or sort out, or improve, to the best of their abilities, and with the use of Muslim money, and requiring Muslim attention.

And note that the removal of Dutch troops is supported, significantly, by Geert Wilders, who intelligently recognizes that what happens in Afghanistan (and Iraq) is largely irrelevant to the main theatre of Jihad-war, that is the countries of Western Europe, and regards those campaigns as taking attention away from the real threat to the West from those conducting Jihad, and such efforts -- in Iraq, in Afghanistan -- causing many in the West, those who come up such schemes, and their loyal and unswerving because mindless political supporters, and those who participate in such efforts (some of the military begin to believe all that stuff about how wonderful it is to go and "help people" who are, you see, under the surface "just like us"), or who are implicated, as so many of our political figures are, because even if they have reservations about the Iraq and Af-Pak missions, they are tongue-tied, because lacking a knowledge of Islam or insecure in that knowledge, they don't know how to express their doubts in the only terms that make sense: that we should leave these places not because Islam is not a threat but because it is, and the means chosen, by the ill-prepared, to deal with the threat, so imperfectly understood, were the wrong means, with the wrong goals. We should not work to make any Muslim people more unified, within a nation, or to try to lessen sectarian and ethinc conflicts within the Camp of Islam, and certainly not to transfer vast sums from non-Muslim countries to Muslim peoples and countries, in order to help the latter. Not only will such aid weaken us, and strengthen them, but it also provides the wherewithal for the internal corruption -- without Western aid, there's so little in Afghanistan or Pakistan or for that matter Egypt, to be corrupt about -- that in turn fuels resentment of those in power so obviously helping themselves to a large slice of that aid, and that resentment, when those doing the resentment are Muslims, will always take the form of protest and rage expressed always and everywhere in Islamic terms, with an increase in hatred for the Infidels, who are going to be seen not as generous donors, but as enablers and supporters of the corrupt who take part or much of the aid.

It has been nearly nine years since the Americans went to Afghanistan, and more than seven years since they invaded Iraq. Yet, despite all the talk about "winning" and "victory," not a single spokesman for either the Bush or Obama Administrations, not a single member of the military, or of Congress, can supply a convincing definition of what would constitute a "victory" in Iraq or Afghanistan, justifying the vast sums spent, nor can they relate that "victory" to the threat posed by adherents of Islam in Western Europe, or indeed, throughout the world, to non-Muslims living in their own lands (but lands where large numbers of Muslims may, through ignorance and inattention, been allowed to settle) and in Muslim-doominated lands, where everywhere, with the Copts in Egypt and the Assyrians and Chaldeans in Iraq, and the Christian converts in the Kabyle region of Algeria and missionaries in Morocco, and with Christians and Hindus persecuted and terrorized in Pakistan, and Hindus and Buddhists suffering in Bangladesh, and Christians threatened, and killed, in Nigeria, where Shari'a is steadily being imposed in the north and now in central Nigeria, and with the 2.5 million Christian (and animist) victims of Muslim state terror and deliberate starvation, over several decades, in the southern Sudan, and with...well, I need not continue, for you can fill up this, and a dozen other similar paragaphs, yourself....it is clear that something is happening, and that something is this:

Jihad has always existed as a duty, the duty or "struggle" incumbent upon Muslims, to ensure that the obstacles to the spread, and then the dominance, of Islam are everywhere removed, by violence if possible (terrrorism or qitaal), or by other means -- Jihad of pen, speech (propaganda), Jihad of wealth (the Money Weapon), Jihad now -- a new one -- of demography, of pouring into non-Muslim lands, settling, and outbreeding the locals, and briniging in, through all possible means, more and more Muslims (fiddling the system, declaring non-existent family ties, bringing in and hiding plural wives, whatever it takes) who then take full advantage of every possible benefit offered by the generous welfare states of Western Europe, Canada, Australia, and outbreeding the locals -- you can obtain the statistics, though with difficulty, for the rise in Muslim populations in Western Europe.

A "victory" in Afghanistan presumably means a place where Al Qaeda will never re-establish itself. But that can be handled with drones and spy planes, and other forms of vigilant monitoring, and repeated attacks by Special Forces. We need not adopt the country of Afghanistan, and make it our project -- yes, I know some will argue it will look good on America's resume but really, there's no more time, and no more space, and no more money, for padding our national resume with such efforts ("Was responsible for spending three trillion dollars to reconstruct two entire countries" etc.).

The "victory" bruited about has never beenclearly defined by those doing the bruiting, for were such an attempt at a clear definition to be made, the hollowness and vacuity of the entire policy would be laid bare. Thus, studied vagueness remains the order of the day. And meanwhile, disturbingly, many in the military manage to convince themselves, despite all the evidence, that the tasks they have been assigned by those above are not foolish, but make eminent good sense, and that yes, we go off to Afghanistan as we did previously to Iraq, and like this idea of reconstructing and reaching out and helping, and training, and supplying, and keeping from killing each other, and bringing prosperity, partly by handing out pallets of cash to, those who are not the "bad guys" but our friends and allies or at least "potential" friends and "potential" allies, if only we listen to them, and meet their grievances, and give them this and give them that, and then they won't join the Taliban, or Al Qaeda, but be....be what, exactly? Are they to forget that we are Infidels? Are they to forget, or permanently ignore, what Qur'an, Hadith, and Sira contain, and what they inculcate? Are they to ignore the fact that the great and permanent division of humanity is between Believer and Unbeliever, Muslim and Infidel?

Isn't it time for those who remained loyalists to the Bush policy to put away foolish things, even to admit possibly --which of them is capable of doing it? -- that they were wrong, and they should not have continued to support the squandering in Iraq, as now in Afghanistan, at least not one minute after the previous regime had been completely dismantled and the country scoured for WMD to the satisfaction of American, not international, inspectors?

One waits to see if any of them will. So far, nary a one.

We are supporting a corrupt Afghan government that supports shariah law. We are fighting the Taliban, who have large support among the Afghan population and who support shariah law. The majority of the Afghan people support shariah law. What are we fighting for? Shariah law?

We don't want a breeding grounds and training camps for terrorists? Well, they still exist in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Sudan, Somalia,... We can't occupy all these countries. Saudi billionaires and muslims all over the world finance jihad. Islamic countries like pakistan, Sudan, Syriah, Iran openly and secretely promote jihad.

Now, we could bomb these training camps and terrorist leaders with drones hovering over these countries. But, that would be the best we can do for our security. Occupying a country with a large percentage of the population keen on waging jihad against Westerners and becoming martyrs in paradise is pointless.

We need to address the real issue and that is orthodox islamic teachings. The BBC, voice of America,... must disclose the fallacies of Islam to muslim countries in countless radio, tv, shows. We must attack the source of evil, namely the brainwashing of muslims in madrassas and mosques all over the world. We must publicly demonstrate beyond reasonable doubt that their ideology - Ilsam - is wrong!

OT All charges against the 'Dudley 2' have been dropped.

The Dutch are smart.

Americans OTOH have a love for stupid imperialist adventures in countries where the locals like to blow us up. And its also quite patriotic to get blown up because everyone thinks you are a hero because you're defending our "freedom".

The following is a complimentary edition of the MEMRI Jihad and Terrorism Threat Monitor (JTTM) Weekly Digest. It includes exclusive reports and items from the past week on Jihadist websites.

Jihad & Terrorism Threat Monitor Weekly Digest No. 40: July 22-29, 2010 http://www.memri.org/report/en/0/0/0/0/0/0/4489.htm

The Dutch may well have need of these troops back home to deal with the taliban -- and other Moslem invaders -- there. At the very least, they now have 2000 -- and maybe many thousands more, if they were there long enough, and rotated troops regularly -- more Dutchmen who are thoroughly familiar with the barbarism that Islam creates. I hope they spread the word among all their families, friends, and neighbors.

the dutch can go home safe in the knowledge that they've succeeded in their mission to win hearts and minds...

Meanwhile, police fired shots in the air in the Afghan capital Kabul on Friday to disperse an angry crowd, after a fatal road accident reportedly involving vehicles linked to the US embassy.

Witnesses said four civilians in a car died when it was in a collision with one of two armoured vehicles moving in convoy.

Two vehicles were set on fire as a crowd of Afghan people hurled stones and shouted "death to America".

The US embassy in Kabul released a statement saying that "four US contract personnel" had been in the vehicle involved in the accident, reports AFP news agency.

One man at the scene, Ahmad Jawid, was quoted by AP news agency as saying: "Are we not Muslims? Are we not from Afghanistan? Infidels are here and they are ruling us. Why?"

ahmad, do you think they know themselves? better buckle up fella... the taliban are coming back - but this time it's personal... and their way of winning hearts and minds is a lot more effective.

An excellent visual representation of how our tax dollars are getting used by the Pakistanis/Afghans...

Well, that's the rub, isn't it? When the Canadians, and the Brits, and—eventually—the Americans, and whoever else from "The Coalition" still remains for the time being, in whatever small numbers—leave Afghanistan, after however many years of building roads, and hospitals, and schools, and getting shot at by Afghan "army recruits" and "police officers", and generally futilely attempting to "stabilize" and civilize in some small measure—the Taliban is going to crow that they have driven the "imperialist" Infidels out of the ugly heart of Dar-al-Islam, and that it is a great victory the brave Mujahideen and for Islam.

Just level the playing fields.

Remember those statues of the Buddha that the Taliban blew up? Those statues dated from the last time Afghanistan was civilized.

One other thing, the correspondent Micheal Totten noted at his site that the first thing that Afghanis build is a wall to surround any structure they plan. No matter how big or small.

We don't need to build a nation in Afghanistan, we just need to prevent the Taliban from using it as a base.

We'll never be able to demonstrate to Muslims that Islam is "wrong". There is only one thing we can do: demonstrate that Islam and freedom are oil and water. Islam is antithetical to human freedom. It goes against everything we believe in. We can't convince Muslims of this. We can only convince other non-Muslims that the "religion of peace" isn't what they think it is. Are we going to accommodate Islam or protect ourselves and our societies? Dar-al-harb just might be our destiny. If freedom is worth having then surely it is worth fighting for. Is life so dear or peace so sweet that we will surrender to a seventh century cult rather than fight for our own survival?

How do we prevent the Taliban from using Afghanistan as a base without fighting them ourselves? The people of Afghanistan aren't willing to fight them.

I was never a fan of the Afghanistan adventure myself.

Maybe we just ought to draw up a law that authorizes the President of the USA to seize the American assets of any nation known to accept anyone on a list of Taliban or Qaida names for medical treatment or residence--unless that person is arrested and handed over to US authorities, regardless of what the other country thinks of the death penalty. And, if that means French and Dutch pensioners get a cut because the US real estate owned by their governments gets seized, Waaaaah.

I think the most appalling "reason" is #4:

4. It would give a legal standing to "burka bashing" or for people to accost burka-wearing women in parks and malls and try to rip their burkas off. Do we really think anti-Muslim idiots are going to wait around for a cop if they think they have a legal right to confront burka-wearers.
.............

The idea that this ban would give "bashers" "legal standing" is bizarre.

What sort of "legal standing" would someone have who decided to assault illegal immigrants or someone lighting up a joint? Absolutely none. Neither would the law protect a person assaulting someone wearing a burka.

More than the clear absurdity of the claim, though, is the implication behind it: that good Canadians troubled by the burka—likely for its symbolism of Muslim supremacy and its oppression of women—really want to *assault* the women who wear them—who, in many cases, are *forced* to wear them.

It takes people who in most cases are concerned about the burka as they would be concerned about swastikas and Klan sheets, and posits them as no more than thugs who want to go around *beating up women*. Disgusting calumny.

What a catastrophe our every administration, Republican and Democrat, is. Totally inept. We had a chance to elect a great man, Rudy Giuliani, 2 years ago. The Republican primary voters blew it for all of us. They denied our country salvation.

"Afghan Women and the return of the Taliban"

http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,2007238,00.html

Link includes a somewhat graphic Time's photo of Aisha ...

Excerpt:

"The Taliban pounded on the door just before midnight, demanding that Aisha, 18, be punished for running away from her husband's house. Her in-laws treated her like a slave, Aisha pleaded. They beat her. If she hadn't run away, she would have died. Her judge, a local Taliban commander, was unmoved. Aisha's brother-in-law held her down while her husband pulled out a knife. First he sliced off her ears. Then he started on her nose."

"For Afghanistan's women, an early withdrawal of international forces could be disastrous.

Hugh, you sure do know a lot about everything Islam.

Ebonystone, you wrote:

That, my friend, is exactly what *I* thought when I had finished reading the article. I thought: the Netherlands needs - and will need - these blokes *at home*. They may need them to crush the Muslim riots/ insurrection that will start the moment the PVV gains a bit more power and starts putting Wilders' programme into effect.

Let's hope that a goodly percentage of those 2000 or more battle-hardened Dutchmen coming home from the pits of hell in Afghanistan (Dutchmen who have discovered, by comparing and contrasting the behaviour of the Muslims there, with the behaviour of the non-Muslim soldiers they've fought alongside, the sheer ugliness of the human behaviour that Islam tends to produce, as opposed to the much less ugly human behaviour that non-Muslim belief systems tend to produce) will cotton onto the PVV and Mr Wilders, as soon as they get home.

It would be nice if Mr Wilders and the PVV were to hold 'Welcome Home' rallies and Events for those returning Dutch soldiers. Perhaps each soldier can be presented with a 'Thank You and Welcome Home' pack...containing, among other things, a heartfelt statement regretting to inform him or her that in leaving Afghanistan and returning to the Muslim-colonised Netherlands, they have exchanged the foreign frying pan for ...a homeland on fire. A homeland that is not yet an open battleground, but where battle *is* being joined between truth, life and freedom, and falsehood, death-worship and slavery. A homeland desperately in need of defenders and protectors.

Pursuant to my posting immediately above:

I hope that Mr Wilders is already preparing the speech that he will make, and/ or the op ed he will write, on behalf of the PVV and all its members and supporters, for the benefit of the returning Dutch soldiers and their families; a speech worded so as to help some of those soldiers to realize that they have moved from one front of the Global Jihad, to another; from the diversion and waste of precious time and men and money that was Afghanistan, to the *real* battlefield, the battlefield that matters, that is life and death, because it is *home* and there is nowhere else to go.

A speech that will serve notice, too, to the Muslims in the Netherlands, that any and all insults offered to Dutch veterans, and/ or threats made against them and attacks plotted or attempted, will be viewed in the harshest light, and the perpetrators relentlessly denounced and pursued to the full extent of the law.

"We'll never be able to demonstrate to Muslims that Islam is "wrong""

Sure you can. Pick up the quran and point out inconsistencies, logical mistakes, grammatical mistakes, mathematical mistakes, historical mistakes, scientific mistakes, ..... Hence, the author of the quran is not an infallible god.

But, Islam is wrong in more ways. It is morally indefensible. Its messenger mohammed was a wicked person. It is unjust to women, hommosexuals, dhimmis and harbis. Islamic doctrine is detrimental to the development and well being of human society.

Islam's weak spot is its doctrine. Therefore, apostates and blasphemers are violently persecuted by muslims.

This battlefield of ideas is more important than a legal and military response. We can break muslim resolve and fanatical devotion by destroying their fundamental doctrine. But this message must be repeated over and over and over again...It must be broadcast to the centers of the Islamic world, to Saudi Arabia, Iran, Egypt, ...

The Dutch in Afghanistan:

"The Netherlands is one of the leading bilateral donors for reconstruction and development in Afghanistan. The Netherlands has pledged an amount of € 150m for reconstruction of Afghanistan over the period of 2006-2009, having already contributed € 180m so far. This makes the Netherlands the third largest donor to the Afghanistan Reconstruction Trust Fund (ARTF). The ARTF, managed by the World Bank, supports running costs of the Government of Afghanistan. For instance, the ARTF contributes to salaries of more than 270,000 civil servants, including 144,000 teachers. Over six million children, nearly 35% of them girls, will be enrolled in school in 2007/08, compared to a little more than a million students five years ago and very few girls. Also, about 13 million rural people in all 34 of Afghanistan's provinces have benefited from improved water, roads and other small infrastructure projects through the National Solidarity Program.

Furthermore, The Netherlands is also one of the leading donors to the Law and Order Trust Fund for Afghanistan (LOFTA). LOFTA contributes to the salaries of the Afghan Police and supports building capacity of the Afghan National Police Force. This police force has rapidly expanded, establishing a visible presence across the country.

In the southern province of Uruzgan, Dutch soldiers are helping to clear the way for development. At the request of the Afghan people, investments are being made in visible improvements which can be realised in the short term. They include repairs to basic infrastructure, bridges, schools and mosques, and the restoration of clean water supplies and medical care. This will give people faith in the new government and in foreign soldiers.

In order to guarantee long-term sustainability, Dutch soldiers working on small-scale projects are supported by a number of specialists from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including a Development Cooperation and Tribal Affairs advisor.

Where the situation is sufficiently stable, the Ministry works with professional relief workers to set up larger-scale projects."

as usual the Muslims are throwing all this under the bus....preferring instead...the violent ways of Islam and the Taliban...

"For Afghanistan's women, an early withdrawal of international forces could be disastrous.

And who wrote Sharia law into Afghanistan's constitution? Yes, you've guessed it, our politically-corect know-nothing about Islam politicians. Anyway, given their choice, 90% of Muslim women would choose barbaric Sharia law over Western law any day, so on that score I have no sympathy for them whatsoever. With the best will in the world, you can't give freedom to those who don't want it. Our duty to future generations is to ensure Sharia never becomes the law of the land here, and to boot out those who do want Sharia implementing here.
