Geller: Obama's NASA "has become a political agency whose objective is to whitewash history and shill for Muslim countries"

In "Obama's Treacherous Redirection of NASA's Vision" in Human Events today, Pamela Geller discusses Obama's entirely unsurprising but completely bizarre recasting of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration as an agency for Muslim outreach:

[...] What is the point of Obama's directive to Bolden? It is clearly more than outreach. Obama made ample provision for that when he created an entirely new division at the State Department specifically for that very thing: outreach to the worldwide Muslim community (Ummah). He named an Indian Muslim, Farah Pandith, as U.S. Special Representative for Muslim Outreach. So high-level was this new office that Pandith reports directly to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. One of the pillars of Obama's post-American presidency is the Islamization of America.

In February, the White House Budget Office scrapped NASA's plan to send astronauts back to the Moon, saying it was over budget and less important than other "space investments." And now Bolden has made it clear: a more important space mission for Obama is pandering to Muslim countries.

Bolden said at the same time the Moon shot was being scrapped, Obama had asked him to "find ways to reach out to dominantly Muslim countries." [...]

NASA's mission, according to its website, is to "pioneer the future in space exploration, scientific discovery and aeronautics research." It focuses on four areas: aeronautics, exploration systems, scientific exploration, and space operations.

"NASA scientists," according to the Telegraph, "have provided some of the most inspiring, eye-catching and terrifying headlines of recent years." These include their warning about the potential devastation that could be caused by solar flares; the discovery of life on Titan, a moon of Saturn; the most detailed satellite images of Earth ever made; the discovery of water on the moon; and much more. NASA has developed everyday items including invisible braces, scratch-resistant lenses, cordless appliances and water filters.

But those days are over. Now, a clueless and indifferent mainstream media should at least be asking what Obama is giving away to Muslim countries--in the service of making them "feel good."

Read it all.

Allah didn't say anything about life on Titan or Mars either...If there is intelligent life out there, Mahounds would have a difficult time with the concept of Kufrs from space...I wonder if Mahound was abducted many times in his life and 'examined', by little gray guys with big black eye's...They might disguise themselves as Gabriel and angels to trick him...Mahound was a little spacey...as are Islams dubious contributions to science...A people who didn't know the world was round, couldn't know too much cosmology or physical science...Since there is little of substance to congratulate them for, 'making them feel good', is the next best thing to do...If you are an Islamic kissy butt...This is disgraceful behavior...It is not the US govs job or duty to make any foreign entity or religion 'feel good'...Why not just put dope in the water supply...It's cheaper and you don't have to embarrass yourself...
Bolden should have manned up and rebelled...

"I wonder if Mahound was abducted many times in his life and 'examined'

You mean "probed?" LOL. Mohammed and the little grey men with black eyes - priceless!

Perhaps, if US taxpayer money is to be used this way, maybe some effort could be made to dispel the enduring Moslem myth that Neil Armstrong heard the adhan, the Moslem call to prayer, as he stepped upon the moon. According to this fairy tale, Armstrong subsequently embraced Islam!

Of course, US taxpayer money might instead be diverted to solve such "burning" scientific problems such as what direction the qiblah is on the far side of the Moon, Mars, Venus, etc. etc. One dreary, ridiculous example following another, yet each a matter of intense interest and necessary significance to Islamic "jurisprudence"

Maybe in space no one can hear you scream, but down here my own rants are ever increasing in decibels and duration. We're in a war. We've got to recognize that fact. We've got to call them by the enemy by his name. We've got to protect our ability to wage this war. And that means, for one thing, that we've got to stop aiding and abetting the enemy, giving him free access to our intellectual and financial assets.

In reply to kim and duh swami,
and in regard to "Mohammed and the little grey men with black eyes"

Did Mo ever describe what Gabriel looked like? Maybe he was a "large grey".

He would be better off if he told Muslims to stop exaggerating the achievements of their early medieval scholars, partly to boost their own self esteem, as the culture that invented modern science (which is not really true) and as a way of belittling a Christian civilisation (which in fact rapidly caught up with, and surpassed them, bringing modern science into being, in the process)

Boden could do worse than visit chat-rooms on Muslim sites where they are arguing that the sun revolves around the earth: the Koranic quotes they give make it fairly obvious that this is what old Mo believed.

He could try and convince them to the contrary but might find himself up against the authority of al Azar university where I think it is still the orthodox teaching.

The late Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, ibn Baz, caused some embarrassment in 1993, by issuing a fatwa that the earth was flat (he was flying in the face of medieval Muslim astronomical teaching, following from Aristotle, Ptolemy etc, on the subject), but later backtracked, although he refused to budge on his geocentric beliefs:

According to one Muslim poster, the earth will be flat on the day of judgment, but until then it is a globe:

http://www.sunniforum.com/forum/showthread.php?28870-Shaykh-Bin-Baz-believed-in-a-Flat-Earth/page4

A sleight of hand, often used by apologists to big up the contribution of Muslim astronomers to science is to tell of how Caliph Ma'amun had the circumference of the earth calculated in around 830AD while forgetting to mention that Eratosthenes had done the same thing in 240BC. There are also attempts to show that Copernicus was inspired to propose his heliocentric theory by Muslim speculation on the subject, but not only is there no proof of this, the Greek astronomer Aristarchus of Samos had proposed it c270 BC - something they again fail to mention while discussing the topic.Their fall-back position - that Copernicus needed to use Muslim mathematical ideas for his arguments - is again, entirely speculative, while there were Greek and mediaeval European sources he may just as easily used.

Hee-hee, imagine the ensuing fun if Obama had mentioned this sort of thing in his famous Cairo speech.

"...down here my own rants are ever increasing in decibels and duration."

Agreed. Every time I see this story I become enraged anew to the point where I can't think straight. It is outrageous and disgraceful that Obama would deprecate NASA's grand challenge orientation and redirect it toward being some kind of outreach program pandering to Muslims' notorious sense of inferiority. What's next, an outhouse on the White House lawn to demonstrate respect for the economically disadvantaged? Arrgghhh...

Look on the bright side, everyone.

The furore as regards NASA's head being told to waste time flattering Muslims, represents a priceless opportunity for the Islamosavvy to discuss the subject of what Islam *really* is, in conversation with the nerds and space buffs, of whom there are a very great many, and not only in the United States.

Just as the 'Afshan Azad [player of Padma Patil] threatened by honor murder' case may bring many a Harry Potter film fan to this website, as they google the web in search of further information, so too may many a nerd, previously blissfully unaware of Islam, stumble in here in the wake of the 'NASA told to flatter Muslims' scandal.

You should have seen the look on my husband's face - he being a long-time sci fi fan and space exploration buff who possesses, I think, just about any halfway decent book ever written about the Moon missions, and has devotedly watched all the space documentaries available (e.g. the one about Voyager), and has never missed a Shuttle launching - when I passed *this* story on to him. Of course, he already knows all he needs to know about Islam - he's read most of the books I've acquired in the past three years, and he read the Quran, like me, ages ago - which means that he was even *more* shocked.

Let's write to Congress (www.congress.org):

Dear Representative:

Regarding NASA's mission from President Obama, first it is Interesting and revealing that in NASA's Administrator's interview with Al Jaseera, wherein he stated President Obama wanted him to reach out to the Muslim world, the Administrator listed some of the space exploration contributions of countries like Russia and China and then spoke of the "possible" contributions of the Muslim world. Secondly, when Obama speaks of the "Muslim world" he is referring to the global jihad view of the whole world being subject to Sharia law and thus subject to the privilege of Muslims. Thirdly, NASA reaching out to Muslim nations means using their rocket technology science, and Muslim nations have made it clear that their interest in rocket technology is NOT for space exploration but for bombing Israel and the West. Fourthly, where is the "separation of church and state" when the President uses government agencies to further (globally) and support one religion over all other religions? That is still illegal. The U.S. is NOT yet an Islamic (or parallel to Islam at first) Socialistic country. Where is congressional oversight? The President is NOT Muslim king of the U.S. (yet).

When people are so filled with rage or hate or racism against others they fail to see the obvious. The Muslims claims have been that for 1500 years your false royal families and false churches have been worshiping false gods in the heavens instead of the actual lord most high. WAKE UP people.
The false gods your western world have BEEN worshiping just left or turned to the Light.
If this world wants to be included into galactic civilization they must see that the Muslims are your true brothers and you have been deceived by your leaders. Those who do not realize the truth before the changes of the Sun will have to learn by experience, meaning tribulation or worldly trials.
You worshiped false gods, your churches lied to you about Christ the Messiah Ascended like the prophet Muhammed Ascended after him. The Babylonian Romans prevented you from this truth by giving you technology.

NASA and this administration are trying to figure out how to tell the general public without greater conflict. Pay attention to what is really happening instead of following your own rage and ignorance.

If you want to truly understand the information is out there. The truth is out there. It is also found in your heart, but if you hate everyone you cant feel your heart so at least pay attention to reality.
Wake up people.
We are not your enemy and we never have been.
PEACE

"The Babylonian Romans prevented you from this truth by giving you technology."

Don't you think you are being contaminated by using this infidel technology, Saleem? You know, I have heard that the Jews have figured out a way to imbed a portal for jinns within keyboards, a sensor to detect if a Muslim is using it, and if a wrong key is hit one will spring out and grab the user. You should seriously consider refraining from using computers, else you risk your chances of attaining jannah and those 72 virgins.

Since Muhammad REWROTE (well, by dictation) the Judea-Christian Bible in the 7th Century from what he knew of the original Bible, which had been passed down over centuries, how can you say Muhammad gave you the words directly from God? Since Arabs, who descended from Ishmael, have a common ancestor with the Jews in Abraham how can you say Arab Muslims are human and the Jews are not? If the Angel Gabriel announced to Mary that she was chosen to be the mother of the Jewish Messiah (Jesus), why would the Angel Gabriel six centuries later then tell Muhammad he was the only apostle and that Muhammad should exterminate the Jews and the followers of Jesus? If Islam did not forbid Muslims from questioning, you would see a lot to question.
