The Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) called on the FBI to investigate this arson attack as a possible "hate crime." CAIR's Honest Ibe Hooper suggested it was caused by "anti-Muslim bigotry." Naeem Baig, vice president of the Muslim Brotherhood-linked Islamic Circle of North America, said that the arson attack was one of the "incidents of Islamophobia [that] are on the rise in our country."
But unfortunately for these lying charlatans, the arson attack was set by a Muslim, a member of the mosque, who was apparently trying to fabricate an anti-Muslim hate crime. CAIR has claimed that "anti-Muslim hate crimes" have risen sharply in the U.S. since 9/11. In fact, the rate of such crimes has actually dropped. CAIR knows well that victimhood is big business: insofar as they can claim protected victim status for Muslims in the U.S., they can deflect unwanted scrutiny and any critical examination of how jihadists use Islamic texts and teachings to justify violence and supremacism.
That's most likely why CAIR and others have not hesitated to stoop even to fabricating "hate crimes." They want and need hate crimes against Muslims, because they can use them for political points and as weapons to intimidate people into remaining silent about the jihad threat.
"Muslim community member charged in Marietta mosque fire," by Janel Davis for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, July 8 (thanks to Candace and Twostellas):
A member of the Muslim community is suspected of setting the fire that occurred at a Marietta mosque Monday night, Marietta fire officials said Thursday.Mosque leaders said Tamsir Mendy, who describes himself as a "devout Muslim," had attended their prayer services for a few weeks, according to police.
Tamsir Mendy, 26, a native of Gambia, has been charged with 1st degree arson and is being held without bail at the Cobb County detention center, said Scott Tucker, Marietta assistant fire chief....
Officials have ruled out the possibility that the arson was a hate crime, and did not provide details on any possible motives for the fire.
Call me, fellas. I'll explain it to you.
I'll bet he's "mentally unstable." It's the only possibility.
So much Islamophopia !
Maybe " Honest Ibe ", and CAIR, can manufacture and sell their own version of those anti - Islamophopia pills.
Looks like there's a big market for them !
Well imagine that, a devout Moslem firebug.

They will say, "Woe to us! This is the Day of Doom. Assemble the wrong-doers and their wives and the things they worshipped besides Allah, then lead them to the fierce flaming fires of Hell."
Nobody plays the victim card like Moslems. Nobody.

Arson is a felony. Anybody wanna bet whether he takes a conviction and does time in Georgia State Prison?

I wonder if CAIR has an incentive program to pay these guys for the anti-Moslem crimes they fake up.

If they have the courage to charge him with his crime, I could see Hoop in that funny little skull cap of his testisfying as a character witness.
While on the subject of fabricated "hate crimes", does anyone have an update on Safia Jilani, the Elmhurst College Moslem girl who made up a tale of being attacked in Oct. 2008?
Robert,
Why wait for them to call you and ask. Maybe it might be a smart thing to contact the lead investigator, and the prosecutor of the case and explain to them what the real deal is. I know the former chief of police where I live and he is well versed on islamic ideology and is open to learning more. Maybe these guys in Georgia are the same way.
The local police are really the front lines of the anti-jihad movement since they deal with the attacks as first responders. Having local authorities well informed only benefits the anti-jihad movement.
I always find it humorous (and not in a funny way) when islamists like dis-honest ibe make claims about bigotry. muslims are the worst bigots there are and excuse my language but dis-honest ibe, or any muslim for that matter, calling someone a bigot is like a turd telling a fart that it stinks.
Note to police.arson departments worldwide - you know that when a woman is murdered, the most likely perp is her old man.
You should also know that when a mosque is burned/defaced, the first suspects should be zealous Muslims.
Not always the case in either instance, but it's how the smart money bets.
As soon as you hear the phrase "devout Muslim" uttered in the description, WATCH OUT!!!
Kaixo!
This tactic of faking "Islamophobic" attacks is not new, at all. It goes right along with the lying (taqiyya) employed by such entities as Hamas, Al Qaeda, and your common, everyday imams and mullahs; it seems like the perpetrators always blame their victims. Muslims are great at using the principle of "projection".
Boot Tamsir Mendy's sorry rear end out of this country!
Agur!
If he wanted to prosteltyze in Georgia's prisons, he probably could have just applied for the job. Although, on second thought, maybe he hoped he could get some infidels injured or killed responding to the fire.
One point. CAIR IS losing the debate on Islam.
A member of the Muslim community is suspected of setting the fire that occurred at a Marietta mosque Monday night, Marietta fire officials said Thursday.
Ah, it's a 'devout' Muslim thing, nothing more to see here. Self destructive 'fire jihad' is not beyond the pale of these troglodytes. It is just one more footnote in spreading Allah's evil throughout the world. Move along... nothing to see here. Victim status noted.
Oops. Robert is wrong on this one.
The mosque fire in Georgia was an anti-Muslim hate crime, an prime example of Islamophobia in the US. Certainly Robert can agree that Muslims are capable of hate crimes, no? Surely Muslims are capable of Islamophobia, no?
CAIR is right for once! They said that this arson was an example of Islamophobia, and they are right! Now that the police have caught the culprit, I am sure that CAIR will call upon all law enforcement agencies to prosecute this fellow for this vicious hate crime against Muslims!
True, B_of_T! ...deceiving in the name of allah is all in an evil days work for the mohammedan, especially since allah calls himself a trickster and a deceiver -- so he must be very proud of these useful idiots.
There are plenty more where the example above came from.
For example, in five seconds flat I found this:

Second man arrested in Everett arson case
SEATTLE POST-INTELLIGENCER STAFF
EVERETT -- Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agents and Everett police detectives tracked down a second suspect yesterday in an arson at the Continental Spices grocery store, which was made to look like a hate crime but investigators say was an insurance scam.
Naveed Muhammad Khan, who allegedly helped store owner Mirza M. Akram set the fire July 9, was arrested on federal charges of arson and conspiracy by agents of the Navy Criminal Investigative Service because he is on active duty. Khan appeared in U.S. District Court yesterday and was ordered jailed pending a detention hearing later this week.
Graffiti was spray-painted on the store's wall in an apparent attempt to color the arson as a hate crime. Investigators say Akram tried to burn the business and file an insurance claim. The ATF said Khan's pants caught fire when he allegedly tried to ignite the blaze."
I'm sure you will be able, for your own edification and perhaps that of others, to find many more.
CAIR, of course, will leave the link to the original story on their site with their call for an FBI probe. They will never put up a link to this update or admit that this was not a hate crime. Instead, they will let every one coming to their site beleive that a hate crime happened and that they were the champions for this mosque. I have noticed the often do this, leave a story on their site after it has been disproven.
Wow - just look at that highly intelligent (sarc on) "native of Gambia."
Hey Doug Hooper - you're as about intelligent as him!
Islam attracts the mentally defectives'.
Now, tell me is is not possible that it was an internal matter? By that, I mean, did it not occur to anyone that Tamsir Mendy's actions could have been motivated by a theological disagreement with other mosque attendees, or a sectarian matter related to perhaps the Sunni-Shiite divide that continues to inflame Moslems worldwide.
HOW THE HELL DOES ANYONE HERE KNOW FOR A FACT THAT BINGO WASN'T PLAYED OPENLY AT THE MOSQUE????
Now, don't ask stupid questions, like why would anyone burn down a "house of worship" over such matters.
Yankel,
It's good to see you back--I was gettin' worried about ya'...

Yep, there was Ebonystone
And..surprise, surprise......
Student indicted after scare at Elmhurst College
Saturday, November 15, 2008
By Christy Gutowski
Daily Herald Staff
A DuPage County grand jury indicted a Muslim student at Elmhurst College on suspicion she lied when reporting a masked gunman assaulted her on campus, hours after she spoke at a diversity rally urging tolerance.
Safia Z. Jilani, 19, of Oak Brook is expected to plead not guilty Monday when arraigned on a felony charge of filing a false police report. If convicted, she faces a possible sentence of probation or up to three years in prison.
Prosecutors said Jilani told police her assailant beat her with a pistol about 8:30 p.m. Oct. 9 after she entered a washroom in the Schaible Science Center, where the masked man had scribbled racial slurs on the walls.
One week earlier, she reported finding anti-Muslim slogans and a swastika written inside of her locker. She said the incident prompted her to speak at the Oct. 9 diversity rally, where she read a poem advocating peace and understanding despite the actions against her.
Police investigated both reports as a hate crime, which caused a stir on campus, but they ended up arresting Jilani one week later after accusing her of making up both allegations to garner attention.
A grand jury indicted Jilani Thursday, according to court records released Friday. She is free on bond pending Monday's arraignment before DuPage Circuit Judge Kathryn Creswell in Wheaton.

Would be good to have a list of all those fabricated 'hate crimes' on this site.
Muslims are still peddling their lies in the internet;
http://islamonmyside.com/wordpress/?tag=hate-crime
Two classic articles by one 'David Thompson', on the subject of Muslim grievance theatre.
1. It's OK to Dislike Islam
http://davidthompson.typepad.com/davidthompson/2007/03/intimidation_re.html
and 2. 'The Passive-Aggressive Jihad'
http://davidthompson.typepad.com/davidthompson/2007/03/the_passiveaggr.html
And then there was an article in The Times in 2006, reporting the tartly-expressed views of the then Bishop of Rochester, Michael Nazir-Ali, son of apostates from Islam, and Anglican clergyman, on the subject of Muslim pretensions of victimhood.
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/article625711.ece
The article was discussed and enjoyed on jihadwatch:
http://www.jihadwatch.org/2006/11/bishop-attacks-victim-muslims.html
From that article:
'THE Church of England’s only Asian bishop, whose father converted from Islam, **has criticised many Muslims for their “dual psychology”, in which they desire both “victimhood and domination”.** {my emphasis - dda}.
'In the most outspoken critique of Muslims by a church leader, Michael Nazir-Ali, the Bishop of Rochester, said that because of this view it would never be possible to satisfy all their demands.
'“Their complaint often boils down to the position that it is always right to intervene when Muslims are victims, as in Bosnia or Kosovo, and always wrong when the Muslims are the oppressors or terrorists, as with the Taliban or in Iraq,” said Nazir-Ali.
'“Given the world view that has given rise to such grievances, there can never be sufficient appeasement and new demands will continue to be made.” END QUOTE.
"Now, tell me is is not possible that it was an internal matter?"
You mean, he thought that the Wahhabi imam was a little wobbly? Or that the Shiite mufti was full of shit?
Actually, in both a logical and technical sense (and therefore should-be prosecutable) this WAS a hate crime.
This was an act of violence with the intent to influence public policy, create fear, and provoke violence.
That is a hate crime.
It just so happens that in this case the choice of targets was particularly clever and deceptive, but the facts are consistent with the concept of "hate crime".
This arson was motivated by hate, with the intent to create more hate. If there is such a thing as a "hate crime" this is one.
How can the police reach a conclusion before they have completed an investigation and know all the facts?
Global jihadists meant to aggressively use any discrimination/hate laws as weapons against non-Muslims, hoping those used to freedom of speech would be easily provoked to angry retorts/rebukes/actions so they could then play the victim (even though they are the aggressors). It often works, as even evidenced by some conversations on this web site. Indeed, it is a common strategy of domestic violence abusers, to pick on their victim until the victim fights back (like a cat in a corner) and then to claim to be the one being abused. Pathetic but true. However, we need to remain reasonable, ban Sharia law, and educate ourselves on our own laws and make sure they are enforced against those who would discriminate and be hateful/violent against non-Muslims. There are organizations that will help prosecute Constitutional crimes (e.g. The American Center for Law & Justice) and religious discrimination. Rights are for the vigilant, and it is the time to be vigilant so we do not loose any more freedom and equality under the law.
The ATF said Khan's pants caught fire when he allegedly tried to ignite the blaze."
"Liar Liar ! Pants on fire!" was never more apt.
