Just after Abbas calls on Arab states to war against Israel, Obama calls him and expresses "strong support" for his "commitment to peace"

At the Arab League summit last week, Abbas said to the Arab states: "If you want war, and if all of you will fight Israel, we are in favor. But the Palestinians will not fight alone because they don't have the ability to do it."

And now this (thanks to Ken).

The White House

Office of the Press Secretary
For Immediate Release
July 09, 2010
Readout of the President's Call with President Abbas of the Palestinian Authority

The President spoke with Palestinian Authority President Abbas today. The President expressed strong support for President Abbas's leadership on behalf of the Palestinian people and his commitment to peace. The President noted the positive momentum generated by the recent improvements on the ground in Gaza and in the West Bank, the restraint shown by both sides in recent months, and progress in the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian proximity talks. He and President Abbas reviewed ways to advance to direct talks in the near term, in order to reach an agreement that ends the conflict, and establishes an independent and viable Palestinian state living side by side in peace and security with Israel. The President noted that Special Envoy Mitchell would travel to the region soon and meet with President Abbas to build on this momentum to advance our common goals.

My one sentence comment in the mail to Mr. S. with the link:

If this wasn’t all so damn dangerous and a lead-up to genocide, it would be a great comedy sketch.

It's been obvious since early in his presidential campaign that Obama is decoupled from reality.

*** 2:6 ***

But the same can be said for nearly every other college professor in the world these days. What's real is the desire for the imaginary to be made real by continual repetition. For example, when Prez Obama apoligized to the Ummah for all of America's transgressions against them, the question arises: what transgressions?

I just thought of something.

If/when the Jihadist At 1600 goes to the Middle East again (yeah, like he'll show up in Israel), will he time it for Hajj....... and just so he's not seen dancing around that sodding black rock, if he orders AF-1 to circle the thing a few times at 20,000 ft, will it count ?

1 Thessalonians 5:3

"The day of the Lord comes as a thief in the night. For while they are saying, "Peace and safety!" then destruction will come upon them suddenly like labor pains upon a woman with child, and they will not escape."

It would be good if somehow Barack Obama decided that he could no longer rely on John Brennan, or Dennis McDonough, or any of the others whom he is said to hold in such respect, and who filter things for him, and no doubt present executive summaries of matters that require him to do his own reading, thinking, studying, assimilating. If he does that -- and he is capable of it, if he chooses to do it -- he will find out a lot about Mahmoud Abbas. He will find out that for decades he was the corrupt henchman of a corrupt terrorist, Yassir Arafat. He will find out that at MGU in Moscow he wrote a thesis that minimized, if it did not entirely deny, the Nazi murders of Jews. He will discover that whatever Abbas says to the West has nothing to do with what he says to fellow Arabs and Muslims, and it is not right to continue to pretend that what he says to us, in order to inveigle still more money, weapons training, and contracts -- contracts which his children have done quite well by -- matters when everyhing he says and does at home is so different. He allows, he does nothing to stop, Nazi-like propaganda on "Palestinian" shows, and especially on shows for children. These could be stopped in a minute, and if anyone dared to make a show about Abbas' corruption, his total power over the local Arab media would be demonstrated. He may wear a suit and tie, and appear mild-mannered, but he was in up to his neck in blood when he helped with Black September, including the killing of Cleo Noel.

He is a Muslim Arab who believes, deeply, that Israel has no right to exist and eventually will not exist, but he is als a realist, unlike the Fast Jihadists of Fatah. He wants American money now. He wants American support now. He even wants -- and apparently is getting - Israeli aid of all kinds, including security in the "West Bank" which includes protection against Hamas. If the IDF withdrew, Abbas most likely would not last very long; his writ does not run beyond the Mukata in Ramallah. He's corrupt, he's evil, but he has by now mastered this "No One Here But Us Accountants" routine, and there are those willing to believe it.

The Israelis should raise with the Americans the issue of treaties and their worth. They can adduce th eevidence of all previous agreements, since 1949, with various Arab states and entities, treaties and agreements always scrupulously observed by the Israelis, and always, or almost always, broken in every important way by the Arab and Muslim side. And they should not only adduce this evidence, but bring to Obama's attention the significance of the Treaty of Al Hudaibiyya, and perhaps quote from Majid Khadduri and other authorities on the Law of War and Peace in Islam, to explain that Abbas is not a man of peace but, rather, a man of a peace treaty, designed to win still further concessions from Israel of a kind that cannot easily be retaken if the other side breaches, and there is not a chance in hell that the Arabs will not breach every single promise they make to Israel.

What "peace" there is or will be between the Infidel nation-state of Israel and the Slow Jihadists of Fatah or the Fast Jihadists of Hamas -- who want the same thing, in the end -- will be maintained by the military superiority of the IDF. Any peace treaty will merely make that superiority more difficult to maintain, and what's more, to be grasped by the enemy so that deterrence continues to work its peace-keeping magic.

There is nothing better than the situation today. Oh, "it's unsustainable"? No, what is unsustainable is the idea that if israel surrenders still more territory, this time things will be different, this time Arab promises will be kept. What is unsustainable is the continued and unacceptable avoidance of the matter of Muslim treaty-making, of the central importance of the Hudaibiyya agreement in 628 A.D., because Muhammad is the Perfect Man, and model for all time.

Brennan, McDonough, and all the rest can continue to pretend that they know what they need to know about Islam, but there is not a serious scholar of Islam in the Western world, during the period of that Western scholarship's heyday, and very few or none today among the non-apologists, who would agree. It's time for Obama to start studying. He's got the time. Fewer basketball games on television, fewer talks out to the "folks" he likes to woo. His innocence of Islma, and that of Bush, cost, and is still costing, those "folks" more than three trillion dollars. And may cost Israel its existence.

No, that's enough.

That's more than enough.

Time to hit the books. And perhaps invite in, to the White House, unpublicized, for a little seminar, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, and Wafa Sultan, and two or three others.

Can we get Obama a cell in that same looney bin holding Osama bin-Laden's son? Adjoining, padded cells with perhaps a connecting door? That way when they tire of listening to the voices in their own heads, they can have a nice visit and listen to the voices in each other's heads.

The muslims have absolutely no intention of co-existing peacefully with Israel. Not as long as islam remains in its present form.

The Community Organizer-In-Chief kow-towed to Saudi Royalty. In the past thieves broke apart and ransomed the Hand of Allah on earth. Maybe he has enough pull to ask for a tiny fragment to display in the oval office, assuming it is oriented relative to Mecca, he could feel free to circle it daily and all would be right with the world. There appears to be an attempt to establish a seat for the Ummah in the White House, this would give it the right amount of panache' it so justly deserves.

The only think lacking with O'ummah's recent pronouncement was Carrot Top doing his stick to lend some credibility to it.

It is clear from the above that our president has either concocted a bold-face lie for the consumption of the PLA and its adherents or is himself, laboring in a delusional state, and through his ordered policies, the State Department is in the same condition.

Is it any wonder that the Muslim world has no respect for America? They have seen President Obama repeatedly state obvious untruths and have rightly drawn the conclusion that he does not know the first thing about the true situation in the Middle East, in effect, operating without a single clue.

The Middle East commoner may also rightly conclude that President Obama has been sucked in by Islamic propaganda and that it's all OK to go on with their plans for world domination.

As far as I am concerned, Obama may be the first US President to be a lame duck before he has completed the first half of his first term. I sincerely hope that the GOP can produce a candidate of real presidential calibre for the next election, but somehow I doubt they will. They seem as clueless as the Democrats.

Obozo should investigate what the definition of 'peace' is.

The Israelis should raise with the Americans the issue of treaties and their worth.

*** 66:2 ***

Allah has already sanctioned for you the dissolution of your vows.

Instead of doing all that research on Abbas, Prez Obama should take a few hours to read the Ko-Ran. That way he'd know what he's dealing with.

APF,
he's already read it...when he was just a wee tot over there in Indonesia. It would have been mandatory in that state-sanctioned madrassa he attended.

Obama is either lying to us or lying to himself if he claims it didn't influence his personal beliefs.

Two weeks ago during Medvedev's visit to the US, the press was trumpeting Obama's Reset Policy. Then a few days later - 'Spy Scandal Threatens US/Russia Relations'.
Interesting, in 2005 Putin was caught on tape with Chirac and Shroder joking about how you can gauge a country by how good their cooking is. Everybody had good chuckle when Putin said "But what about hamburgers?".
..Obama took Medvedev to Ray's Hell Burgers for lunch and then had 10 of their spies arrested.

Abbas just needs to get a bigger chunk of Jerusalem and he'll probably win a Nobel Peace Prize.

The President is seriously delusional.

"He [Obama] and President Abbas reviewed ways to advance to direct talks in the near term, in order to reach an agreement that ends the conflict, and establishes an independent and viable Palestinian state living side by side in peace and security with Israel."

An "agreement" that "ends the conflict"? The conflict has no end; nothing will end the Muslim Arab desire to remove, from the very midst of Dar al-Islam, the permanent outrage of a non-Arab non-Muslim people daring to live in their own state, on land once possessed by Muslims. But even though the Arabs know perfectly well that, because of all the attention they manage to focus on the conflict, no one in the West in power has understood, or wanted to understand, the true nature of the conflict -- a classic Jihad. Nor have those in the West wanted to believe that this is not a "problem" to be "solved" -- oh, would that it were, and would that the many other local Jihads around the world were susceptible of solution, and would that the imperative, in Qur'an, Hadith, and Sira, for Muslims to engage in the struggle or Jihad to remove all obstacles to the spread, and then the dominance, of Islam, did not exist, or somehow -- no one knows how -- could be changed -- but it can't. And the Jihad remains, the impulse and the duty remain, and in Islam, the world is divided between Believer and Unbeliever, Muslim and Infidel, and between Dar al-Islam and Dar al-Harb, and between the two kinds of people, and the two land areas (the first describing the lands where Islam dominates, and Muslims rule, the second describing the lands where non-Muslims still manage to rule), there must exist a state of permanent war, if not necessarily open warfare.

It is hard, especially, for Americans, whose good qualities -=- can-do spirit, Yankee ingenuity, we can fix that! -- in the case of Jihad, and local Jihads, turns out not to be useful or even admirable. We have seen, with Bush bringing "freedom" to "ordinary moms and dads in the Middle East," the naive and sentimental approach. It continues under Obama, with a belief, expressed by General Casey the other day, that what we must do in Iraq and Afghanistan is provide "jobs and education" and so on. Why? Oh, because then Muslms will no longer, he may believe, be attracted to what he and others still call, so misguidedly, "violent extremists," and still manage to put off the day when they will have to truly encounter the texts, the tenets, the attitudes, the atmospherics of Islam, have to learn about the 1350-year history of Islamic conquest of vast non-Muslim lands, and what happened during the subsequent subjugation of many different peoples of many different-- Christian, Jewish, Zoroastrian, Hindu, Buddhist, and others -- faiths.

When they do, their attempt at building up Muslim states and peoples, transferring still more of our wealth, and putting pressure on others who are imperiled by Jihad much more immediately and severely than we are -- such places as Israel, and the member countries of the E.U. which is being asked to admit Turkey, which would be a disaster for the indigenous non-Muslims of Europe and for other, but non-Muslim, immigrants within the E.U.

We just can't go on like this, with our rulers avoiding the true responsibilities of rule. They presume to protect and instruct us, but they give few signs, when it comes to the most important foreign policy matter -- one that is taking time away from all others, not to mention the biggest matter of all, anthropogenic global warming -- of beginning to prepare themselves through study, beginning to understand.

The hectic vacancy of Washington, the meetings, the photo ops, the Congressional hearings, the interviews, the fast-paced idiocy of who's in, who's out, and where are the snows of yesteryear (to quote an old poet) --for many of them, they can no longer sit still long enough to read and think. They've lost the habit. I wonder if Barack Obama himself, during his 20 years in Chicago, lost the habit.

Wow. You really are the optimist, Hugh. You actually think Obama can learn? I don't. Between a vastly overrated intellect, a possession of beliefs almost all of which are wrong and hubris on a scale that makes even the Clintons look almost like ordinary folks, the guy in the Oval Office right now has somewhere between .000001% and zero of ever learning what Islam, or so much of the rest of the world for that matter, is really about.

Cornelius, if you're out there, buddy, and reading this, know that I'm playing the decided pessimist today. What a change, eh?

If we're so gung-ho for peace in the Middle East, why the H-E-Double-Elle didn't Obama call Abbas to tell him that all funds voted for the support of the West Bank, Gaza, and the "refugees" in Arab states had been impounded until there is a loud, public apology for this statement delivered in English, French, Arabic, and Hebrew (with the Arabic version to be vouched for by a Mizrahi Jew).

And, while we're at it, why don't we tell the Arab League that if the descendants of the great Indo-Pakistani interchange of 1947 are now no-questions-asked Indians and Pakistanis, it's time to demand that the Arab states naturalize their Falastin Arab fourth-generation "refugees".

Oslo is dead.

Not to put too fine point on it, Kepha, but Oslo was still-born, though most of the world didn't notice at the time. Some of it still doesn't. Any Israeli-Jew who still doesn't should be committed.

Barack Hussein Obama is many things, delusional, unfortunately is not one. He is not, inept, he is not naive, and he is not misguided. He is however, Muslim, and he is well versed, I mean extremely well versed in the teachings of the Qur'an. He can receit it with the expertise of an Imam, this alone should be enough to tell America and the world that he is absolutely NOT Christian, as he claimed while running for president. After all, why would a Christian even want to be able to receit the Qur'an. Don't be fooled by anything Barack Obama says, or does, but remember to to be afraid, I mean very afraid.

Remember Obama's call, a few months into his Presidency, for "fresh thinking"? Another year and a half have passed, but when it comes to the Jihad against Israel, and "peace-processing," and "solutions" (one-state, two-state, n-state), we've got the same old same old.

Here's a piece I put up at the beginning of March 2009, about that "fresh thinking" that never let in new views, based on realism, that is on a knowledge of what the conflict, the Jihad against Israel and Israel's attempts to decide for itself, and retain, the minimum conditions of its own security, was really all about:

Fitzgerald: Hillary and Obama's Call for Fresh Thinking

"Fresh thinking" is what Obama has famously said he wants. Fresh thinking on this, and fresh thinking on that. Who could disagree? Because again and again, the Received Wisdom of Everyone Who Counts has been proven to be wrong. "No one" could suspect a founder of Nasdaq, Bernard Madoff, of shenanigans, and therefore relentless Harry Markopoulos was not listened to, his long screeds offering chapter and verse in the annals of financial chicanery ignored, year after year. He was wrong, and everyone else, the Good People at the SEC, were right -- until they weren't. And the same was true for the larger financial system. "Everyone" knew such and such had to be true, and knew that certain things just could not happen, and the handful who thought otherwise -- Nouriel Roubini comes swimmingly to mind -- were ignored, as comical cassandras. Until it turned out that they were right.

The herd of "Middle East experts" prates about peace-processing, and imposes on our brains the word "solution" -- as in "two-state solution." And they do this without thinking they have a duty to explain how the creation of a “Palestinian" Arab state on land that is part of the tiny territory originally assigned by the League of Nations' Mandates Commission to the Mandate for Palestine for a Jewish National Home (land that also happens to be militarily indispensable to Israel's ability to withstand an Arab attack) will be a "solution," and not merely make Israel's situation on the ground even more hellishly difficult than it already is.

Indeed, the borders will be impossible to defend -- even now, with the straight line that follows the course of the Jordan, the ratio of border length to land area is the highest that any nation in the world must endure. And given the location of critical aquifers under the "West Bank" on which Israel depends, and which Arabs in control would likely waste (as they so often do), or pollute, or even poison, it is absurd to expect Israel to give up control. It is absurd because that same "West Bank" was part of the Mandate for Palestine. And it is absurd because Israel itself, though the Jews are one of the original peoples of the Middle East, exists on territory less than one one-thousandth the size of the land area of the nations possessed by the Arabs. It is absurd because the Arab states nowhere offer non-Muslims or non-Arab Muslims anything like the autonomy that might be granted the "West Bank" Arabs -- that is, an autonomy consonant with Israel's security needs, but not an autonomy that will force Israelis to live in impossibly, intolerably difficult conditions.

Hillary Clinton appears to believe in the weight of the "experts" -- the rosses and the indyks, the haasses and the millers, and tutti quanti -- and she also assumes that there is a "solution" to the Arab Muslim war on Israel. She ought to do as Obama has said he would like everyone to do, and to seek out "fresh thinking." She ought, in the first place, to not confuse this or that charming individual of Muslim descent or assent (e.g. Huma Abedin) with the ideology of Islam, the texts and tenets and attitudes and atmospherics of Islam. And then she should recognize that all these rosses and indyks, not to mention the djerijians and bakers and all the rest of the "Middle East experts" -- who somehow never include such people as J. B. Kelly, or Bat Ye'or, or any of those who do not quite fit the State Department template of those who "understand the Middle East" --- have never studied, nor understood, nor applied to the situation at hand, Islam.

For Islam underlies everything that true believing Muslims do. Very often Islam also explains such phenomena as Ba'athism (in both its Syrian and Iraqi variants). Such things as the twists and turns of the Alawites in Syria remain mysterious as long as one does not comprehend the meaning, and menace to non-Muslims, of Islam. And without an understanding of the ideology of Islam, the Jihad being waged against Israel cannot be understood either. For that Jihad there is no "solution," but there are ways to keep the situation under control, and that means under military control (google "Darura" and "Hugh") so that open warfare does not break out, or if it does, does so only in limited ways. And the way to worsen the situation for Israel is to pressure it into yielding territory that, for its own existence, it must hold onto.

These "experts" such as Indyk and Ross, on whom Hillary Cllnton allows herself to depend, are all characterized by one thing: they are Islam-less, they are without a knowledge of Islam. They keep putting on these andy-hardy performances, in the barn, of Hamlet without the Prince. They just can't spare the time -- busy, busy, busy, at those think-tanks, at those conferences, giving their ponderous views ponderously hither and yon -- to sit still, and read. They've lost the habit of study. It's a Washington-wide problem. "As for study, our research assistants will do that for us." Ah yes. So they allow themselves to believe, without looking into Islam, that this "solution" to the Arab-Israeli "conflict" is to be found in the establishment of a 23rd Arab state for an artificial "people" who were deliberately created only after the Six-Day War, on that very territory to which Israel has legal, moral, and historic claim and that as a military matter simply cannot relinquish.

There was on display at Sharm el-Sheikh an unseemly willingness to overlook everything about Fatah, all the while of course tsk-tsking about Hamas and highmindedly refusing to deal with it, in contradistinction to Fatah, which was painted as practically saintly. In fact the two are not different. The difference between Hamas and Fatah is just that the men of Fatah are more cunning, more eager -- because more corrupt -- to say the minimum they have to say (to "choose peace as a strategic option" as Abbas likes to say) in order to get that tap of Western aid turned on again, so as to divert some of it to their own uses. The men of Hamas, meanwhile, are more fanatical and less willing to pretend to compromise. They are willing, it seems, to forgo that aid in order to remain not only inwardly true to the tenets of Islam (as the men of Fatah are) but also outwardly true to the texts, and tenets, of Islam.
But those who know their Islam, and those who understand the central significance of Muhammad's treaty with the Meccans at Hudaibiyya in 628 A.D. as a model of Muslim treaty-making with Infidels for all time, will not be fooled. And in not being fooled, they will recognize how the Slow Jihadists of the now Western-favored Fatah share the same goal with the Fast Jihadists of Hamas -- that is, the goal of eliminating the Infidel nation-state of Israel. Especially for Arab Muslims, whose ethnic amour-propre reinforces their Islamic worldview, the existence of a Jewish state in the middle of Dar al-Islam is so offensive that it cannot be permanently tolerated, even if for now it must, and even if for now some Arabs even make noises to suggest that "if only" Israel gives up this, and gives up that, then it can exist, on Arab sufferance, as a rump state. If you know nothing about Islam, nothing about the texts, tenets, attitudes, atmospherics, history, of Islam, you might believe this. You might at least choose to believe this, for it would make your task so much easier.

The Arab psyche, collective and individual, is so offended by the existence of the Infidel nation-state of Israel, and by the fact that the long-despised Jews being able to withstand for so long Arab attacks and Arab war-making of every kind, that the idea that somehow, with the coming into existence of a "Palestinian" Arab state, that there will be a growing recognition of the need to accept Israel, a grudging acceptance, is the kind of thing that is plausible, but only if you do not really grasp the nature of Islam. It requires not just knowledge, but familiarity over time with Muslim behavior, Muslim history. Mere mechanical reading of the Qur'an and Hadith are not enough. Nor is learning of the details of Muhammad's life. You have to take it in, ponder the material, relate it to the history of Islamic conquest and subjugation of non-Muslims.
It is foolish to denounce Hamas, the Fast Jihadists, as is being done by Hillary Clinton and others, and at the same time to allow oneself to believe in the no-one-here-but-us-accountants facade offered up by Mahmoud Abbas, for decades the willing collaborator of that murderous stage-villainous Yasir Arafat. Abbas was the henchman of Yasir Arafat for decades and was in up to his neck in all sorts of murderous activities (including the killing of two American diplomats in Khartoum). What's more, Abbas himself is a Holocaust-denier (yes, do read his Moscow thesis). He is not one whit less acceptable than Bishop Williamson, whom so many correctly denounce as beyond the pale, and in the next breath show that they think Mahmoud Abbas, per contra, is perfectly acceptable and even worthy of international aid.

If Obama wants "fresh thinking" in this area, he can come and get it right here. And so can Hillary Clinton. And we should not seek to impose, nor even seek to persuade others to believe, that there exists a "solution" to the Arab war -- the Jihad -- against the Infidel nation-state of Israel, which was re-packaged, after the Six-Day War, as a war of "national liberation" by the "Palestinian people." We should understand that this is a classic Jihad, designed to eliminate from the midst of Dar al-Islam an Infidel nation-state that offends by its existence, and not by its dimensions.

The war against Israel has been kept on the front pages by many things. There is that interest, by no means an innocent one, in all things pertaining to Jews. If Israel were not a Jewish state, but rather one run by, say, Maronites or Copts or Assyrians -- that is, Christians of the Middle East-- there would be attention, but not the obsessive, nearly manic attention that the Arab war against Israel, and even more Israel's attempts to defend itself against that war being waged against it, that we see on the BBC, in The Guardian, on Agence France-Presse, in Le Monde, etceterum etcetera. In fact, if left alone, and if its enemies are not constantly being supplied with new infusions of money, Israel can take care of itself. My, my, just look at the gigantic sums pledged to the Arabs at Sharm el-Sheikh! Think of the hundreds of millions of real refugees, starting with the refugees from the Muslim Arab slaughter in the Sudan, who can't quite understand why it is that the "Palestinians" always manage to obtain not just the lion's share, but a whole herd of lions' share of international aid, again and again and again.

Nothing should be done to force the Jews of Israel to live in conditions of maximum peril, a peril that none of those governments putting pressure by prating of "two-state solutions" would for one minute endure for their own people. Their legal and historic claims, both under the Mandate, and according to the rules that have governed postwar territorial adjustments (see the Alto Adige, see Kaliningrad, see every border after every war practically since time began, and certainly after World War II), are considerable. Such lawyers as Eugene Rostow, former Dean of Yale Law School, and many others who specialize in international law, believe that Israel's claim to the "West Bank" is far superior to that of any other claimant. Even when one attempts to refer to the carefully crafted Resolution 242, it is clear that the key term there is "secure and defensible borders," which would certainly correspond to the River Jordan, and command of the invasion routes from the east, and of the mountains of Judea. The most authoritative book devoted to this subject is that by the celebrated Australian legal scholar, Professor Julius Stone, whom Dean Pound of Harvard so much admired and considered to be the greatest writer on Jurisprudence of the age.

But in speaking about a "two-state solution" and expending energy and capital of all kinds (financial, diplomatic, moral) on it, the American government keeps delaying the day when, not merely in regard to Israel and its survival, but in regard to the entire West, or perhaps better the entire Rest (Islam and The Rest), it will take into account the most important tenets of Islam, and cease to focus so stupidly merely on one instrument of Jihad, terrorism, instead of focusing on all the instruments of Jihad, and on the aims of Jihad rightly understood. Jihad is the "struggle" to remove all obstacles, everywhere in the world, to the spread, and then the dominance, of Islam. In the end, all the countries of Dar al-Harb must, inevitably, become part of an enlarged Dar al-Islam that will cover the globe, because the entire world belongs to Allah. The people in it, and what they might wish, do not matter. And in any case, everywhere in the world, Muslims must rule. That is only right. That is what Allah wishes. There can be no other way.

But the instruments of Jihad that are used to accomplish this goal vary. In the most pressing theatre of the war, the war of self-defense that is as yet undeclared by the Infidels of this world against the war being waged against them from within and from without by the carriers or adherents of Islam, those instruments go far beyond the terrorism that has received, stupidly, all the attention. That main theatre of the war of self-defense against Islam is not in Iraq (a waste of men, money, materiel, morale) or Afghanistan (a waste of men, money, materiel, and morale), but rather in the countries of Western Europe, now threatened by such instruments of Jihad as the Money Weapon, campaigns of Da'wa, and demographic conquest.

As long as hussein is in the white house I fear the USA is in grave danger. In fact, I'm not sure she will survive this assault.

Well, you're probably right about Oslo being stillborn, Hugh.

Hugh, it appears you hold out hope that Obama is capable of reforming his beliefs and values, if only he had the chance to spend some time reading and learning about the real Islam, not the fuzzily remembered version of his childhood, and meeting with the right people.

You could be right, but how realistic is it to expect this to happen? Certainly if he had the benefit of having received the education JW readers have had, and if he were an honest and reflective man, he would not be spewing the nonsense he spews, or making dubious appointments of Islamic apologists to sensitive advisory or policy positions, or allowing himself to be hornswoggled by Abbas & Co., or destroying NASA with his misguided efforts to reduce it to being an arm of Big Brothers to help out poor lil' Muslims.

Certainly if he, Barrack Obama, were suddenly to have an epiphany that he has been listening to the wrong people and decides he needs to take stock and "recalibrate" himself, then that would be a wonderful thing. As president of the most powerful nation the world has ever known, and the Commander in Chief of its armed forces, he could do more to halt the resurgence of political Islam than any number of measures his opposition today, including virtually all of us here on JW, are capable of taking.

I know you and Robert and many others are working to find ways to educate this man in what must at times seem to be a Sisyphean task. You have our support, and we all hope you are successful, for the stakes are very high. In the meantime, the rest of us will continue to operate under the assumption that such a conversion is unlikely, and proceed apace with our efforts to see that Obama and his Leftist cohorts are removed from power at the first opportunity - and keeping our powder dry.

Sounds a lot like Chamberlain

One can just hear a supposedly learned analyst, "contextualizing" Abbas's speech by insisting that it is in fact a declaration of peace...that he is forced by circumstance (call it the prevailing "culture") to use such language in order to rationalize his opting out of the war option. What would never be extrapolated upon is just what kind of a "culture" it is that necessitates such language.

I tend to agree. I think "57 states" was a Freudian slip showing his identification with the 57 states of the OIC. He clearly doesn't identify with the 50 United States of America, non-caliphate variety.

This was posted in the wrong place. This one from me:

"Britain's secret eavesdropping centre, GCHQ, has been criticised for failing to recruit enough ethnic minority staff to help fight terrorism."

"ethnic minority staff"? - Read - enough members of Global Jihadi Movement to help sabotage the fight against terrorism

"An official report, leaked to the Sunday Times, also said black and Asian intelligence officers had complained of discrimination at the complex near Cheltenham, in Gloucestershire.

A GCHQ spokesman told the BBC policies and practices were now being improved."

Is Obama a secret muslim?

Well here I listen to him praising Islam to the skies.

And here mocking the Bible and Jesus?? and he claims he is a Christian? This was quite shocking

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hi-V_ilJu0w&feature=related

PS - Obama refers to the Quran as the "Holy Quran" many many times. Never ever to the Quran, but notice when he ridicules the Bible in 2006 as a Senator, he does not refer to it as the "Holy Bible" just the Bible ... hmmmm strange behaviour for someone who claims that he is a Christian.

Annie dont feed the Obambi defenders gifts by making obvious ridiculous mistakes. Obambi did not go to a madrassa (an ISLAMIC religious school) he went to an Indonesian STATE school and a private CATHOLIC run Multi Faith school.

He was however registered as a MUSLIM at both schools and DID take KORANIC STUDIES as he himself admits in his book 'Dreams'. Whats more his school contemporaries remember him as a devout Mosque going Muslim and there is evidence he also took 'Mengagi' the study of correctly pronounced Koranic Arabic. Which would explain his proven ability to recite the Shahada correctly. N.B. In Muslim eyes reciting the Shahada MAKES you a MUSLIM.

BTW on another tack at the time Obambi attended the Indonesian State school Indonesian Law allowed ONLY Indonesian CITIZENS to do so. Which is another reason no doubt why all his documents and College funding and passport records are being kept HIDDEN at huge financial cost.

'Plunck your magic twanger Froggy'...Don't worry about the cognitive dissonance, it's just in his head...Abu Mazen is a guy he can work with...they can plunk their twangers in unison and create twanger music...He don't laugh those starving 'Palestinian people' will love it...

'Plunck your magic twanger Froggy'

Wait a minute. Did you watch that Saturday morning children's show, too? With Midnight the Cat? And just after "plunck your magic twanger, froggie" came the reply: "I'll be good, I will, I will"? You remember that?

Obama is a Muslim Trojan horse. The "commitment to peace" he is referring to is global Sharia law and the destruction of Israel. It sounds like he is signaling the uniting of all factions of the global jihad in the destruction of Israel. Is he preparing to declare himself the Mahdi?

Realist,
you missed the sarcasm in my comment, both the sarcasm towards Obama and the sarcasm toward the Indonesian government.

I have been aware of Obama's claimed studies, his Indonesian school registration, and the restrictions that accompanied it for quite some time. I have viewed the "documentation" on line, too. Some Indonesian FB friends kept bugging me incessantly about Obama during his campaign. It became a little wearing to try to answer their consistent barrage of questions, so I finally asked them why they even cared who was POTUS? It's not like it was going to have any impact on their lives in Indonesia.

Their response was essentially that the prospect of having an Indonesian citizen elected to be POTUS was very exciting to them because they didn't think anyone but a native-born US citizen could be POTUS. I thought that they must have meant "Kenyan" but they specified Indonesian and said that Obama is (note: "IS") an Indonesian citizen. It floored me so I asked them to explain further. Their response was that he went to public school in Indonesia. My reply was essentially "So what?". They found that funny & explained that Indonesia is not like the US. They said that the Indonesian government routinely discriminates against certain groups and there is nothing illegal about it. They said that in order to attend a public school in Indonesia, Obama was required by law to both muslim AND an Indonesian citizen. Further discussion revealed that students who are not BOTH Indonesian citizens & muslim must attend private school at their family's expense or do without formal schooling. (This is why I sarcastically refer to the Indonesian public school system as a "state-sanctioned madrassa".)

They also referred me to a website showing a photo of Obama's Indonesian public school registration. The conversations continued, further revealing that although this sufficiently proved to them that Obama had the required citizenship (they believe it was achieved through adoption by his Indonesian/muslim stepfather) and religious beliefs to attend public school at that time, there is no indication that Obama's Indonesian citizenship has ever been revoked by their government. They opined that only the Indonesian government could officially revoke Obama's citizenship, therefore Obama is still an Indonesian citizen. They indicated that Indonesian citizenship (at least during the time frame in question) was pretty much solely at the pleasure of the government rather than a matter of individual desire and submission of routine paperwork.

Indonesia was a police state at that time Obama lived there and while I have briefly looked at Indonesian citizenship laws, I have little appetite for sorting through what coups had invalidated which laws, etc. There is much debate on this topic, with many of the posters viewing Indonesian law through the filter of their own cultural biases. Most notable of these is their dismissal of the validity of any citizenship laws that in their opinion do not give full weight to the status or rights of Obama's mother. IT'S A FOREIGN COUNTRY WITH A PRO-MUSLIM GOVERNMENT RUN BY A MUSLIM PRESIDENT! WOMEN HAVE LITTLE VALUE OR RIGHTS UNDER ISLAMIC PRACTICES! Besides, even in the US women's rights were lagging behind during the years Obama lived there (based on dates of states' ratification of the 19th Amendment) so not only are the pundits viewing these events through a cultural bias, they are viewing them through a bias that is based on circumstances more than 30 years later. Suffice it to say that by our standards, it was a very corrupt, repressive & manipulative regime (much like Illinois politics).

What little I recall from looking at their laws would lead me to conclude that if Obama's stepfather did not or could not adopt him, the Indonesian government would have concluded that Obama was solely Kenyan/British through his biological father, or perhaps dual Kenyan/British and US citizenship if they chose to give any recognition to his mother. Again, I am not going to delve into Kenyan/British citizenship laws or how they may have been affected/effected by international relations or treaties with Indonesia. As a rule, the Indonesian government seems to have been consistently against dual citizenship.

Since Suharto was an Axis collaborator in WW2 (with the Japanese) and is listed at famousmuslims.com, I tend to think that he allotted islam more than its fair share of privileges, if for no other reason than to keep the muslim citizens somewhat pacified. Perhaps he was well aware of the modern threat posed by islam long before the rest of us were? He seems to have viewed Indonesian islamists as a threat to his rule and by providing perks like muslim-only public schooling (at the expense of ALL taxpayers), perhaps he believed he could effectively undercut support for the islamist movement. Controlling the public school curriculum, allowing only muslim citizens to attend, and requiring everyone else to pay for private schooling in addition to paying taxes to support public schools would seem to have been an effective strategy, especially given the economic problems the country faced. Free school during hard times while your neighbors are forced to either pay private school tuition or remain uneducated is a powerful incentive to not rock the boat too hard. It also provided Suharto with a ready list of muslims who might pose a current threat (the fathers) or future threat (the students being educated) to his rule. Suharto didn't seem to be a friend of the intelligencia of any sort, either, preferring instead to limit the ideological menu to only those items he approved of.

I have to give due consideration to the information and opinions of the people who first brought this to my attention and are citizens of Indonesia and are familiar with the history, government and culture of their country on a level that I will never even attempt. Sukarno, Suharto, Habibie, Wahid and Sukarnoputri are all muslim presidents of a country that still remains secretive, oppressive and seems to be falling increasingly under the sway of islamists. Based on that, any claim on the part of the Indonesian government that Obama was never given Indonesian citizenship will be viewed with a jaundiced eye by myself and many others, particularly in light of Obama's own admission that he did, in fact, attend that public school. The Indonesian government simply stands to lose much more than they would ever gain if they were to reveal information that might result in Obama's removal from office.

Note: The conversations I refer to are a summary, not verbatim. I don't think I saved screenshots of them. If I did, they were saved on a computer that died some months ago.
