NASA chief: Obama wanted me to make Muslims feel good

Yeah, that's what NASA should be all about. "Charlie Bolden: Stealth Middle East Diplomat?," by Keith Cowing at NASA Watch, July 2 (thanks to Weasel Zippers):

Bolden: I am here in the region - its sort of the first anniversary of President Barack Obama's visit to Cairo - and his speech there when he gave what has now become known as Obama's "Cairo Initiative" where he announced that he wanted this to become a new beginning of the relationship between the United States and the Muslim world. When I became the NASA Administrator - before I became the NASA Administrator - he charged me with three things: One was that he wanted me to re-inspire children to want to get into science and math, that he wanted me to expand our international relationships, and third, and perhaps foremost, he wanted me to find a way to reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with predominantly Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historic contribution to science, math, and engineering.

"...he wanted me to find a way to reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with predominantly Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historic contribution to science, math, and engineering."

Their contributions are historic all right! In the sense that one has to read about them in history books, because they haven't made any contributions in the last several centuries. And it would be more correct to speak of contributions made in Moslem-ruled lands, rather than contributions made by Moslems. Most of the contributions were made by non-Moslems living in lands that had been conquered by Moslem armies. As the Moslem rulers gradually killed, converted, or enslaved the non-believers in their midst, the contributions dried up.

So lets get this in to perspective Obama wants Charlie to tell LIES. Been away for a few weeks but have come back to JW and find all is still the same the RINOS are still bleating nonsense the moonbats are still defending the indefensible and Conservatives are still completely ineffectual. After 18 months of sublime mendacity, mediocrity, vindictiveness and RACISM by the Messiah and many many people trying to tell Americans just what Obama really IS and where he really comes FROM and with all the questions of his Political and Educational funding STILL unanswered and all his documentation still HIDDEN.

Yet STILL according to the Polls almost 50% of Americans think he is a good president with America's interests at heart. Of course you can discount the RACIST Blacks from that number so that leaves 50-13% which equals 37% of Americans who are just plain STUPID.

That this is so is amply born out by the fact that STUPID Americans blame BRITISH Petroleum for the gulf Oils spill completely ignoring the FACTS and the TRUTH that AMERICAN company TRANSOCEAN and AMERICAN company HALLIBURTON bear the vast overwhelming MAJORITY of the blame for overcoming SEVEN LAYERS of blow out protection and that AMERICAN Green NAZI legislation FORCED the Oil Company miles and miles offshore and ISSUED the permit to DRILL and INSPECTED the Rig in the first place and that the LYING Mohammedan BOGUS POTUS has declared HIMSELF and his REGIME to have been COMPLETELY in charge of the Oil Spill from DAY ONE .

Now thats what I call Sublime STUPIDITY on a national scale.

Like I have repeated often, Americans have dug their own grave by electing and re-electing traitors like Bill clinton, George Bush and Barak Obama, while ignoring patriots like Tom Tancredo.
Americans (think Somalia and green-card lottery.. you can imagine how much 'Americans' these 'citizens' are) voted for a 'change' (think handouts)
Well, in a democracy, you get the 'change' you deserve, if you know what I mean...........

And let's not forget everything they ripped off Persians, Hindus and the Chinese and passed on to the West as if they had created it...

Except for the contributions of Avicenna, Averroes, Al Farabi, Al Khindi and Al Razi (that's right, you can count them all on the fingers of one hand), all of whom were considered heretics by their mahoundian contemporaries (they used their brains way much more than any black-stone worshipper is ever supposed to), mahoundians have contributed nothing else to this planet except for Mein Qurampf and all the destruction it spreads wherever it gets adherents to its doctrine of violence, hatred, willful ignorance and intolerance.

And, by the way, on the topic of getting NASA to work for Dar al-Openseweristan, except for trying to find non-existing evidence that mahound's imaginary alter-ego allah once split the moon in two for its (not his) most highly-regarded mass-murderer and pedophile, what other interest would mahoundians ever have in space exploration???

Wait a minute......NASA (the "rocket science" guys) are supposed to team up with muslims (the "flying carpet" guys)?????

Whiskey.....Tango.....Foxtrot?!?!?!?

Uh, I was in an explosion in Iraq and have some brain damage as a result, but apparently I can still think more coherently than Mr. Obama can!

engage much more with predominantly Muslim nations to help them ...feel good... about their historic contribution to science, math, and engineering.

'Feelings, nothing more than feelings,
Trying to forget my feelings of love.
Teardrops rolling down on my face,
Trying to forget my feelings of love'.

Yes friends, it's all about feelings and love...And Allah so loved the world that he gave his beloved son Rasool Obama feelings...lot of them...There is no way to adequately count the feelings bestowed on Rasool...but there are so many his cup runneth over...He wishes to share his feelings with the world, particularly the Islamic world...That's why Charles got the memo...He's a messenger of the messenger...Spreading Rasools feelings and love wherever he go's...Or at least that's what he is supposed to do...But as Rasool's promises to Islam grow stale, the job of spreading Rasool's feelings and love becomes a hard sell to an audience with growing doubt...Soon, not even Mahoundians will believe in Rasools feelings...

Help Muslims feel good about their historic contributions to science and math and engineering?

WTF?

Why don't we pat them on the back for the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny being artifacts of Islam, too?

I agree that we have dug our own grave but we didn't ignore Tom Tancredo. He never gave us a chance. He had some fun in Iowa and NH and then dropped out. Those two states are hardly representative but they have an outsized influence on who becomes the nominee because candidates LET THEM. I never had a chance to vote for Tancredo. The man QUIT.

What contributions to science from the muslim world? I don't count the suicide belt as an invention.

Let's see.... Muslim contributions to science.... Wow, that's a tough one.... Off the top of my head:

1. They did not kill all ALL of the Jews and Christians in their conquered territory, thereby allowing others to make future contributions. This is the single biggest contribution that the Muslims made.

2. They did not burn ALL of the books they could find as they conquered territory. Probably incompetence and oversight on their part.

3. They did not issue fatwahs against the concept of zero as it diffused from India to Europe. (The imams probably either couldn't find anything in the Koran that forbids it (which would be somewhat surprising -- surely something in the Koran forbids the zero), or else they didn't understand what zero meant and that it would enable a lot of useful, non-Islamic stuff.)

4. Ah, a positive contribution: They invented the word "algebra" to denote some of the mathematics that bridged from earlier times (such as the Egyptians, Babylonians, Greeks, and Hindus).

What place does a government entity have fabricating and fostering positive spin for members of a specific religion group? The very idea itself is obscene.

Doing this type of thing should be reserved for fostering good relationships between two governments. So what Obama has asked of NASA is to treat the Ummah as a govenmental entity.

I must admit that great credit for the cloth covered box my legs are resting on may be attributable to hundred of years of ottoman technological progress.

President Kennedy's famous 'man on the moon speech' began with:
"These are extraordinary times. And we face an extraordinary challenge. Our strength as well as our convictions have imposed upon this nation the role of leader in freedom's cause. No role in history could be more difficult or more important. We stand for freedom. That is our conviction for ourselves-that is our only commitment to others. No friend, no neutral and no adversary should think otherwise. We are not against any man-or any nation-or any system-except as it is hostile to freedom. Nor am I here to present a new military doctrine, bearing any one name or aimed at any one area. I am here to promote the freedom doctrine."
Obama's New Camelot isn't what used to be.

Who knew that NASA stood for "National Association for Sharia Acceptance??"

Well, now that the NASA's mission has been so clearly defined: FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION...

Well, now that NASA's mission has been so clearly defined: FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION, I suppose...

I can hear a detached NASA mission controller's voice:
"Obviously a major malfunction............"

:-)

Looks like this charles is as confused as the interviewer about what the bama meant when he said he wants charles to make muslims feel good? What a load of horse manure. At least this thought was not purseued by either one for the rest of the interview.

In appeasing and praising Muslims the Bama is no different then Gandhi was.

A little story:

When Gandhi was a young man in South Africa in the 20's, He had said something bad about Muslims. Some Muslims came to his house and thrashed him soundly. Gandhi was so traumatized by this experience that after this he didn't say anything bad about Muslims. He went out of his way to appease and praise Muslims.

I wonder if the Bama had gone through similar experience in the any of the Islamic hellholes he lived in. That would have traumatized him for life. This also is known as being made dhimmi by terror. This is what Muhammad meant when he said “I have been made victorious through terror".

FOREMOST, much more important than inspiring Children to get into science and maths, much more important than expanding international relationships, he Obama, wanted me to "find a way to reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with predominantly Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historic contribution to science, math, and engineering."

Hmmm... Americans get rid of Obama as soon as possible. Impeach him. The elections are too far away.

Prominent amongst the Muslim "invention?" claims are COFFEE SOAP and the THREE COURSE MEAL.
Well apart from the hilarious IDIOCY of claiming to have invented a NATURAL substance like COFFEE so does that mean that American Indians "INVENTED?" TURKEYS, POTATOES,SWEET CORN and TOBACCO then far far more significant "INVENTIONS?" than COFFEE? It seems that Mohammedans believe no one ever ate more than ONE COURSE at meal time before them so Greek and Roman and Chinese BANQUETS all of which predate ISLAM by THOUSANDS of Years just dont count and of course SOAP and SOAPY substances PRE DATE by THOUSANDS of years too.

The REAL INVENTION is ISLAM itself by the plagiarising, misogynistic, antisemitic, paedophilic, murderous warlord and thief Mohammad.

Realist makes a good point.
The comment says muslims claim to have invented the three course meal...but, the Jews (while in bondage to Egypt) had a meal that was lamb, bitter greens and unleavened bread. This is a three course meal which servings are named in ancient history (the account in Exodus) and still is practiced today, thousands of years later.

While taking a course in Terrorism Risk Assessment, I found stated in the text book that some of the oldest terrorists and a particular group were called "Assassins." Because they would carry large knives, accost travelers and stab them to death, these killings were said to be "assassinations." This practice did not usually allow the assassin, ie: terrorist, to get away, but he was usually killed, thus making him a "suicide" terrorist.

Sometimes inventions are good...and sometimes not.

You wrote:

"What contributions to science from the muslim world? I don't count the suicide belt as an invention."

I don't either. Nor the knickerbomb. Nor the a$$-bomb: as attempted by the Jihadist who, in order to get past the security searches so as to kill a Saudi prince whom he regarded as insufficiently Islamic, shoved a shaped explosive charge **up his own backside**.

When he detonated his suppository bomb, he failed to kill his target, but he did blow himself up, from inside, messily and ignominiously.

Time to offer, to the newer members of this forum, some classics from the archives, on the subject of Islam and Science.

From July 30 2005 (incidentally, about three weeks after a bunch of jihadist suicide bombers blew themselves up on a London doubledecker bus and on trains in the London subway)

http://www.jihadwatch.org/2005/07/hyping-islam-s-role-in-the-history-of-science.html

And from August 2008, an essay by a writer using the nom de plume fjordman, on the subject of 'science and religion' (contrasting what happened in the Islamic world, with what happened elsewhere)

http://www.jihadwatch.org/2008/08/fjordman-on-science-and-religion.html

A number of handy books on the history of science are referred to.

There is also this interesting paragraph, which I will quote for those who don't have time to read the whole article, for I think it gets to the heart of the matter:

'Fjordman' writes:

'There is also an important theological aspect here in that Muslims generally viewed God as unpredictable, whereas both Christians and Jews could more easily view God as predictable, having created the world according to logical natural laws which could be uncovered and understood by humans. '

[and then he quotes Toby E. Huff, page 116]:

"In short, the European medievals had fashioned an image of man that was so imbued with reason and rationality that philosophical and theological speculation became breathtaking spheres of inquiry whose outcomes were far from predictable, or orthodox - to the consternation of all.

"Furthermore, this theological and philosophical speculation was taking place within the citadels of Western learning, that is, in the universities.

"Christian theology had indeed clothed man with a new set of methods and motivations, but it had also attributed to him a new set of rational capacities that knew no bounds."

Now, from early 2009, another Fjordman essay posted at jihadwatch: To President Obama, Regarding Islam and Science.

http://www.jihadwatch.org/2009/06/fjordman-to-president-obama-regarding-islam-and-science.html

And now, not from the jihadwatch archive but something I found and squirrelled away on my own account, namely, an article by one Jacob Kanter, on the state of the 'Arab world' (i.e. the Arab *Muslim* world) as regards literacy, education, science, invention, etc., that appeared in the Jerusalem Post on 29 October 2009 -

"Arab World Still Far From Becoming a Knowledge Society".

Certain paragraphs:

'In his 2006 book, My Vision, United Arab Emirates Prime Minister Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum outlined his goals for the Arab world, writing, "I just want [all my Arab brothers and sisters] to reach the same advanced levels achieved by developed countries."

'If that's the aim, then Maktoum's brethren have a lot of work ahead of them.

'The Arab Knowledge Report 2009, released on Thursday as a joint project of the United Nations Development Program and Maktoum's own Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum Foundation, contains a wide range of statistics relating to the production and creation of knowledge in Arab {and wherever the word 'Arab' appears in the excerpts I shall quote from this piece, read, 'majority-Muslim', or 'Muslim', since all 'Arab' societies are overwhelmingly Muslim - dda} societies. And while it reports a great deal of progress in economic freedom, many more of the statistics combine to paint a bleak picture of Arab society trailing far behind "a rapidly globalizing knowledge society."...

"The report focused on the state of education, the use of information and communication technologies, and the importance of research in Arab countries - three factors that are connected to long-standing problems in Arab society, said Meital.

'The state of education in the Arab world is a cause for "grave concern," according to the report.

'Despite having spent 5 percent of its GDP and 20% of its general budgets over the past 40 years on education, **more than a third of the adult population in the Arab states - 60 million people - remain illiterate, two-thirds of them women.** {my emphasis - dda}

'Furthermore, close to 9 million Arab children do not attend classes, and many who do drop out after primary school.

'**The quality of university education in Arab countries is also a source of concern, as it often lacks emphasis on specialized science and modern techniques** {my emphasis - dda}.

'As a result, the region lacks a critical mass of highly skilled professionals who are able to innovate and answer the needs of the marketplace'.

'Even more troubling is the state of innovation'. {Is *that* any surprise to those of us who have discovered that Islam frowns on innovation, bid'ah? - dda}.

'Arab countries' investments in research and development usually do not exceed 0.3% of their GDPs, and 97% of scientific research in Arab countries depends on government funding.'

'The bleak situation in the education and research sectors is partially offset by gains in the use of information and communication technologies: the increase in the number of Arabic users of the Internet is the highest among the top 10 languages used on the Net.

{Yeah - and we know what they use it for - see the Ask the Imam websites and such, or the contents of Mr Spencer's Hate Mail Bag as emailed in every day from dar al Islam, or the beheading videos that are posted on the jihadist web sites, or Al Qaeda's latest online mag in English encouraging bright Muslim boys to use Umm's kitchen to whip up a batch of home-made H.E., and then we all know who are among the most enthusiastic consumers of online porn...dda}

'However, rates of Internet use are still below the global average of 21% in all but four Arab countries: the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain."

END QUOTE.

That's only the *Arab* Muslim world, of course; but I'd hazard the guess that most of the rest of the Muslim world isn't much different, and is sometimes (in the case of places like Afghanistan or Somalia), even *worse*.

And Obama told Charlie Bolden, the Administrator of NASA, to *flatter* the illiterate or barely-literate denizens of the Ummah.

Good god.

The Administrator of **NASA** - representing the organisation whose people landed men on the moon, and then brought them home safely, no less than six times, with nothing like the level of tech and computer power we have today, and who sent out 'Voyager' and 'Galileo', and put the Hubble Space Telescope into operation, and explored Mars with those cute little remote-controlled vehicles called 'Spirit' and 'Opportunity' - was told to grovel and flatter, and make to feel good about themselves on the basis of their predecessors' exceedingly limited number of early-middle-ages 'achievements', people whose co-religionists *blow up girls' schools* and use school science labs (see Gaza) to concoct bombs? People in whose countries the 'universities' "lack emphasis on specialized science and modern techniques"?

Uh, Houston, We have a problem.

To all of the Americans on this site...
Happy Independence Day

Obama should be charged with treason. He has given the "Muslim world" our secrets, our strategies, our money, our sovereignty, and helped our troops to be picked off all over the globe so that we will not be able to defend ourselves when the U.S. is declared conquered for Islam.

Is there anyone out there that STILL believes Obama is not a muslim?

What do you expect from a small-time Chicago politician? He is doing everything possible to make himself a one term president.

I was thinking the same exact thing when I saw the headline.

If muslims had any science contributions to feel good about, wouldn't they have more than one nobel prize in a science-related category?
