North Carolina-based jihad propagandist "InshallahShaheed" believed behind new al-Qaeda web magazine

He's in Yemen now, having not "yet" returned to slacking off at his parents' house after buying a round-trip ticket. If there were ever a case for being bumped from a flight... An update on this story. "U.S. citizen believed to be writing for al Qaeda website, source says," by Paul Cruickshank for CNN, July 19:

(CNN) -- A senior U.S. law enforcement official has told CNN that U.S. intelligence believes the principal author of the new online al Qaeda magazine is an American citizen who left for Yemen in October 2009.
The magazine -- called "Inspire" -- appeared last week. Running to nearly 70 pages online, it included articles on bomb-making and encrypting electronic messages, as well as an interview with fugitive Yemeni-American cleric Anwar al Awlaki.
The source has identified the driving force behind "Inspire" as 23-year-old Samir Khan, who previously lived in North Carolina and was involved in radical Islamist blogs, including one he ran called "Jihad Recollections." The source says Khan traveled to Yemen on a round-trip ticket but has not come back to the United States.
Before moving to North Carolina, Khan lived in the New York area. U.S. law enforcement officials say he attended meetings of the Islamic Thinkers Society, but was not a central figure in the group. The Islamic Thinkers Society says its mission is to achieve the ideal Islamic society. On its website, it says: "Our struggle is always intellectual [and] political non-violent means."

Surrrrre. They just incite others to do the rest.

Khan's online name was inshaAllhashaheed (Arabic for "God willing a martyr"). On his various blogs he distributed English translations of al Qaeda propaganda and links to videos produced by Iraqi insurgent groups and others. In a profile in 2007, the New York Times described him as "a kind of Western relay station for the multimedia productions of violent Islamic groups."
Khan was born in Saudi Arabia, and moved to Queens, New York, with his family when he was 7. The family later moved to Charlotte, North Carolina.

I'm sure we all feel better now. Once the yoke of sharia's tyrannical grip is strangling you, does it matter how it was secured in place?

He is a U.S. citizen plotting against America. If he comes back he should be arrested and tried for sedition. If he is found guilty life in prison with no parole should be the sentence. Why the hell we allow muslims to live amongst us in Western Societies is beyond me.

Islamic Thinkers Society...

Now that's an oxymoron if there ever was one.

Or would that just be moron?

..................

So—that "build a bomb in the kitchen of your mom" stuff wasn't just theoretical...if he does build a bomb, it sounds as though it will, indeed, be "in the kitchen of his mom"...

I feel bad for the publishers of the *other* "Inspire" magazines, which seem to be an innocent collection of publications for women, on health, and about crafts.

I know I wouldn't want Jihdists sniffing around my craft projects, sending me letters like "I enjoyed the article about salt candles, but where's the one on building a bomb in the kitchen of your mom?"

Those originally from oriental states tend to maintain dual citizenship. I know an Indian who does this and I'm sure there are also many Pakistanis who do the same.SGE has lived in the UK for 50 years but still can hardly speak English. Sikh rather than Muslim.

Pakistan and India don't accept dual citizenship but it seems not to matter. i suspect that this is fairly universal.
My Indian aquaintance sometimes travels on her Indian passport and sometimes on her UK one. A privilege not afforded to me - and one which can seriously disguise movement.
The UK have rather quickly cancelled Anna "Chapman"'s UK passport but totally fail to do that for known terrorists with dual passports. We even stupidly accept back terrorists from Guantanomo who were not British but who had "residency" before they went on "holiday" to t5he war zone Afghanistan. Same s**t is now suing the British taxpayer because of claimed torture.

The US, the UK, and ALL states should immediately cancel passports when a holder is involved in terrorist and seditious activities abroad.
HOW stupid can we be?

I remember when Robert posted the "Jihad Recollections" story here on JW. I'm glad the author is out of the U.S, at least.

"Islamic Thinkers Society" - I am laughing, just can't stop.......... Islamic Thinkers, that's just the best example of an oxymoron you can think of!

Jihadists in North Carolina? What would the Green Mountain Boys say?

Right now, he's not on American soil.

That's one less to worry about.

Time for US authorities to work out how to make citizenship evaporate from under such as he.

He wasn't born in the USA; he acquired his citizenship sometime after his seventh birthday. It should be possible, in light of his devotion to Al Qaeda, to revoke it, and cancel his US passport.

The Green Mountain Boys were from Vermont. I doubt that they would care what happens in North Carolina!

Not sure if you guys have seen this yet, but this it what was written in the magazine by Anwar al-Awlaki
titled “Shaykh Anwar’s Message to the American People and Muslims in the West, where he ironically complains and is outraged by Barack Hussein Obama’s attempts create distance and in fact disassociate Nidal Hassan's actions at Fort Hood from the Muslim religion.
Here is the excerp:

”[The Obama] administration, tried to portray the operation of brother Nidal Hassan, as an individual act of violence from an estranged individual. The administration practiced a control on the leak of information concerning the operation in order to cushion the reaction of the American public. Until this moment the administration is refusing to release the emails exchanged between myself and Nidal. And after the operation of our brother Umar al-Faruq the initial comments coming from the administration were looking the same: another attempt at covering up the truth.”
