Allama Ahmed Mian Hammadi, a Pakistani Muslim cleric, has claimed that Shahbaz Bhatti, Pakistan's Federal Minister for Minorities has himself committed blasphemy by branding the recently murdered Christian brothers as victims of Pakistan blasphemy laws.Bhatti had spoken out about the murder last week of Rashid Emmanuel, 30, and his brother Sajid, 27, by unidentified masked gunmen inside a courthouse in Faisalabad. The brothers had been accused of blaspheming the Prophet Muhammad earlier this month, a charge they had both denied.
According to Mr Hammadi's statement, published in Daily Jasarat, a Pakistani Urdu daily newspaper, the Muslim cleric said that Muslims cannot tolerate blasphemy against the Prophet Muhammad.
"It is not a cruelty to kill blasphemers, rather blasphemy itself is such an enormous brutality that the one who commits it neither has got a right to live in this world nor is there any pardon for the blasphemer," Daily Jasarat quoted Mr Hammadi as saying.
"Muslims won't tolerate even a slightest blasphemy against Prophet Muhammad. If Shahbaz Bhatti committed blasphemy he would be beheaded."
He maintained: "A Muslim loves [the] Prophet Muhammad more than anyone else."
The newspaper quoted Mr Hammadi as saying that the incident of killing of the Christian brothers due to non implementation of the blasphemy laws in Pakistan.According to the newspaper, the Muslim cleric criticized Mr. Bhatti for stating that the law had been abused vis-à-vis the case of the Christian brothers.
"No law has been implemented in this case. Court implements the law not people," Daily Jasarat quoted Mr. Hammadi as saying. "Christian brothers were killed after Muslims became angry."...
Oh, well, then, in that case...

Oh my...Continued revelations about Pakistani Muslim atrocities like this, combined with WikiLeak's revelations that the Pakistani ISI has been secretly colluding with the Taliban and diverting U.S. "military assistance" to fund jihadi operations, and all becoming increasingly the daily staple of the news. No revelations here for JihadWatchers, of course, but one wonders how many mid-level staffers in the DoD and State who are clued in on what's going on will now become emboldened to confront their clueless superiors and begin the process of reviewing our relations with Pakistan.
The Cold War rationale for siding with Pakistan, fashioned by Zbigniew Brzezinski and kept going by his Cold War disciples, has been dead for two decades. Time for them all to retire and their places by taken by a new generation of forward looking strategists whose thinking focuses on today's enemies instead of ghosts from the past.

I will believe that there is a "moderate" Islam when enough Muslims in countries like Pakistan and Egypt stand up to people like Allama Ahmed "Noodles" (“miantiao“ 面条 is Chinese for "noodles") Hammadi and tell him off. Since I doubt that such a thing will happen, I'm not holding my breath.

NO, Mr. Hammadi has it wrong, and he knows it. And he knows that the "law" that has been implemented is the Shari'a.
In a state ruled by Muslims, Believers can themselves ensure that the Shari'a is observed, and punish those whom they think are violating the Shari'a. They need not wait upon the state to mete out such punishment. Hammadi knows that perfectly.
As long as Islam has zero tolerance for criticism of Mohammed, the civilized countries should have zero tolerance for Moslems.
The easiest way for muslims to eliminate competition is to simply accuse the competition of blasphemy. Muslim business men do it to non-muslim business men, muslim neighbors do it to their non-muslim neighbors...
Yet we are still being told how tolerant islam is...

Implicit is of course that any retribution therefore is acceptable, and it is happily overlooked that abuse and islamophobia are many things. Victimhood rules.

I am so glad to see this post. I think you have it, and it's so simple in the end. Islam is the religion of and to the devil himself! It is the mirror image of the true love, peace, tolerance, truth expressed in the Torah and Bible.

"Cruelty" and "brutality" can now apparently be added to the increasingly long list of words that Muslims understand differently from the civilized peoples of the world—along with "terrorism", "justice", "adultery", "family", "charity", "truth", and so many others.
