"Self-styled" jirga—that gives the idea that somehow this jirga is not legitimate, unlike the other, properly—what? vetted jirgas? elected jirgas?

Actually, much of the "governance"—I use the term extremely loosely, for obvious reasons—in Pakistan and neighboring Afghanistan is done by jirgas.

Typically, they just consist of a council of local Muslims who impose some version—more or less harsh—of Shari'ah law, depending on how savage the local customs are, and how "Islamically devout" they happen to be.

The American president himself is—bizarrely—a big fan of this form of unelected government:

So 'have mercy' would have the West admire and emulate the kind of society where powerful men use other men as objects, with contempt, and also express a deep contempt for women, using them also as objects?

Let's reflect on the information Dunne adds in a footnote, re. the routine and severe sexual abuse of little girls in the Arab/ Muslim family (which is confirmed by the testimony of Hannah Shah, who suffered such abuse, and by the testimony of Wafa Sultan in 'A God Who Hates') -

'Author Nawal El Saadawi, gives an account of the horrifying and widespread sexual abuse of young girls in the Muslim-Arab world, a crime for which the perpetrators are exonerated. -- See Sadawwi, The Hidden Face of Eve: Women in the Arab World, pp.12-24.

'While it is obvious that this abuse, as with the abuse of young boys, is connected to the unavailability of women for men in the culture at large, Phyllis Chesler notes that **the widespread sexual abuse of female children in the Muslim world “is one of the main ways of traumatizing and shaming girls into obedience** {my emphasis - this is *exactly* how Hannah Shah’s father set out to brutalise her into submission, to break her spirit - dda} and rendering them less capable of rebellion or resistance when they grow up.” - Chesler, The Death of Feminism, p.145.

Does 'have mercy' **admire** a society in which men have such contempt for women, and such fear of them, that they 'punish' women by...gang raping them?

Pierre Rehov, in the same Front Page interview, reports: 'Inside the Palestinian territories, I collected a lot of different stories involving raping of an innocent girl who later on was slaughtered by her own father or cousin, because she had lost her virginity.

'This example to say that, in Muslim culture, values exist, but the line between good and evil is drawn somewhere else, far away from our understanding."

I do not - unlike have mercy - have any admiration whatsoever for a society in which men can rape a woman and then murder her afterward. I do not admire or respect a society in which a mother can murder a girl for the 'crime' of having been incestuously raped by brothers...while allowing said incest-rapist brothers to escape scot-free.

I find such a society to be nothing but an abomination from beginning to end.

If 'havemercy' is sickened by societies such as ours, that permit unrelated women and men to work together and walk together, that permit a woman to choose her own mate and make her own mistakes, that punish the rapist not the raped, and that condemn incestuous sexual abuse as a crime (and, again, punish the offender not the victim), and if he thinks us inferior to the 'control' of the sadomasochistic Mohammedan societies, then I suggest he move to Saudi Arabia or Iran, recite the shahada, and sign up for the 'virtue police' so he can beat and abuse and get under control all them wicked wimmens.

Of couse the western women aren't being flogged or stoned....and they can drive cars, wear makeup, wear jeans, have jobs, they can socialize, they can collect death benefits, they can own their own businesses, they can choose their husband and so many other things.....

Islamic women ...well,...they can be Islamic women completely entitled to all that Islam offers them...which is generally not much at all....
