Police in modern, moderate Indonesia tear down house church

Dhimmis in the Islamic state "are forbidden to build new churches" ('Umdat al-Salik O11.5(7))

"Indonesian police tears down house church," from Asia News, July 23 (thanks to C. Cantoni):

Jakarta (AsiaNews/Agencies) - Police demolished a residential building in Bogor (West Java) that regularly hosted a house church. Police also detained, interrogated and released ten people, Compass Direct News (CDN) reported.

Last Monday, police raided a house used for worship by Narogong Pentecostal Church in the village of Limusnunggal, Cileungsi sub-district. The action was followed by clashes between agents and worshippers. The building was eventually torn down and ten people arrested.

"Local residents, including non-Christians, had accepted the presence of the church," said local Block Captain Junaedi Syamsudin, "but a group called the Forum of the Muslim Brotherhood of Limusnunggal has worked since 2008 to have the church eliminated."

"Three months ago members of the forum went to Cileungsi offices to object to the church's presence," Syamsudin added, "and the regent promised to demolish the house."

Bogor Police Chief Eddy Hidayat said that the house "lacked a use permit", but Pentecostal Church coordinator Hotlan P. Silaen retorted that police were not neutral in the dispute.

"The clash with citizens could have been avoided if the police had been neutral and not been goaded into a situation that caused bodily harm," Silaen said....

.................

Police in a Muslim-majority seldom are. Even where Shari'ah is not the explicit law of the land, the law and its enforcers are always canted towards Muslim supremacism.

""but a group called the Forum of the Muslim Brotherhood of Limusnunggal has worked since 2008 to have the church eliminated"
..and they have the guts to DEMAND a grand mosque on Ground zero here! Heartless animals.

In the West we go out of our way to build mosques and help Islam expand, yet all other religions are forbidden in the Islamic world. There's just no way to win until the West takes a strong position against Islam.

Graven,

It doesn't even have to be a muslim majority.
Consider Dearborn! Wait...Dearborn IS a muslim majority? Never mind...

clearly Muslims fear churches...

I understand that the Muslims prayers are rants against infidels. Is this true? Could someone translate for our edification? Thanks

Quran 5:82...Strongest among men in enmity to the believers wilt thou find the Jews and Pagans; and nearest among them in love to the believers wilt thou find those who say, "We are Christians": because amongst these are men devoted to learning and men who have renounced the world, and they are not arrogant.

The first part is holding up well, but the second part is getting ragged around the edges...

Islam encourages hatred of unbelievers, and lacks any overall, respectful concept of humanity. Unbelievers (98:6, Qur'an) are called the vilest of creatures. Contrast that with 1:27 of Genesis, which tells how Man was created "in the image of God", the basis of human rights in Western liberal democracies, inspiring the Declaration of Independence.
The essential tribalism of Islam, which holds to a dualistic view of Us vs Them, subverts civilization, which took eons to achieve its awareness of humankind.
Get on MEMRI.org and watch some Arab and Iranian TV. It's a hatefest of conspiracy theories and mean-spirited lies. Hatred is the acid that corrodes Islamic culture.
It's amazing that liberals aren't more sensitive to this failing, though many only understand divisiveness if it has a racial component.

"Indonesian police tears down house church,"

That is the heart of the story.

Question: Why did the Indonesian police do this?

Answer: They were acting upon the details and spirit of the Islamic religion.

Why is it that we only see such consistent acts of extreme religious intolerance taking place in Islamic countries?

Hmmm, I guess that Islam is not the perfect religion of peace after all.

The laws of the land that get laid down by Islam are insane and they amount to nothing short of a cruel injustice. Islam is ultimately good for Muslims males only. On second thought, Islam is not good for Muslims period. It is not a good thing for any human being to dedicate their lives to what amounts to the cult of a murderous mad man.

You realize, of course, that when the Christian faith began, people used to meet in small or medium sized groups in homes. Purpose-built meeting-places/ worship halls (what we today think of when we hear the word 'church') came later, once the Roman persecutions slackened off.

In places other than the world of Islam, when the Church has endured persecution, and has been prevented from having 'church buildings', it has gone back into what is called 'house church' or 'cell church' mode, with small-scale meetings taking place in the homes of members. This was done in Soviet Russia and also in Maoist China; indeed, the 'house church' network in China is still going strong.

Now, those small home meetings were often raided under the Soviets, and are often also attacked in China even today. Nevertheless, neither the Russians nor the Chinese succeeded in altogether stopping them from happening. Our Lord's words to his disciples - 'wherever two or three are gathered together, there am I in the midst of them' are a powerful encouragement to such tiny gatherings.

Islam, considered as a persecuting system, is right up there with Stalin's Russia and Mao's China, or Kim Jung Il's North Korea.

The oppressive 'pact of Omar' forbids the building of new church buildings, and ALSO forbids the repair of existing buildings. You can't re-paint, re-do the loos, re-roof...or you risk a screaming mob going Jihad on you, for 'breaking the dhimma'.

In practice, sometimes if the local officials are sufficiently greedy, the payment of *huuuge* bribes by the Christians has led to officials looking the other way whilst a new church is built or an old one fixed up. Of course, the new building - or the repair job - may last only as long as it takes to change rulers/ officials...and then, enter the screaming mob to smash and burn, rob, rape and kill.

And - now comes the horrible part, which we've seen in operation in this story - if you give up on even trying to build a 'church' and instead decide just to meet with some of your fellow Christians in someone's house, the Muslims will accuse you of having 'illegally' turned that house into a 'church building'; and then enter the screaming Muslim mob, 'high' on hate, to burn down your house as punishment...and frequently to indulge in a murderous, pillaging rampage through your entire community.

1. They won't let you build a conventional 'church'.

AND

2. They won't let you have an informal 'cell church' or 'house church 'meeting inside someone's private home, EITHER. If you try, they burn down the house and carry out a pogrom.

Catch 22.

So: NO to the 'Spit on the Graves of the Infidel Dead' Mosque next to Ground Zero.

NO to any more mosques in non-Muslim lands.

Not while screaming Muslim mobs in Indonesia burn down someone's house because Christians - deprived of a place to worship publicly - gathered there to pray, sing and read the Scripture.

Think Saudi Arabia. What else is new?

"Contrast that with 1:27 of Genesis, which tells how Man was created "in the image of God", the basis of human rights in Western liberal democracies, inspiring the Declaration of Independence." - jewdog

jd, The Idea of "Human Rights" (actually, individual rights) in the Western World is NOT based upon Genesis or the Bible. (although the idea of the individual having a relation to God in Christianity did contribute to it.) The idea of Individual Rights was based more upon the values of the Enlightenment period, specifically the writings of John Locke. If there was any inspiration for the Declaration of Independence, it is more to be found in his works than in the Bible.

That being said, I find myself increasingly appalled by the brutality of the Muslims towards, well, everyone. I may not be a Christian, Jew, Hindu, or Buddhist, but I still support there right to live in peace and practice their religion. I thought the same of the muslims too, until I started learning more about that odious ideology.

Perhaps we should ask them - "Since it's ok to tear down and burn down churches in muslim countries, do you also agree that it's ok to burn down or tear down mosques in other countries?"

Perhaps we should apply the edicts of the Pact of Umar upon them when they are in other lands. We could start with "No building or repairing mosques anywhere in North America or Europe."

"Local residents, including non-Christians, had accepted the presence of the church," said local Block Captain Junaedi Syamsudin, "but a group called the Forum of the Muslim Brotherhood of Limusnunggal has worked since 2008 to have the church eliminated."

Note there was no mention of MUSLIMS accepting the church in the neighborhood - just non-Christians.

This must be Islamic Civilization we are witnessing here, not Islam. Isn't Indonesia supposed to be a "moderate" Muslim country? Moderation must be defined as not killing people - just destroying their home.

The only way to win is to do what Ferdinand and Isabella did centuries ago - drive them from your country. That will never happen. We insist on bringing them here. We are too afraid of our own shadows. We are terrified of being called hypocrites because we espouse freedom of religion. Too many people see Islam as just another religion. They can't understand that Sharia law is incompatible with secular society, that it is in direct conflict with the idea of equality before the law. They think a mosque is just another kind of church. Wait till those who railed against church bells ringing on a Sunday morning have to listen to the call to prayer five times a day. You won't hear a peep out of them.

The nerve of those Dhimmi's, to stand up to us en masse, to force us wipe them out all in fell swoop. If we can't pick them off one by one, at our leisure, what is left for me to show Allah what a willing slave I am? Acts of charity? That out of pocket stuff is for the birds...

Churches are very scary to the believers..............
