Tennessee Congressional candidate gets death threats for opposing mosque

Just yesterday I got an email saying that "Every Zionist man on earth will also pay the Price and be accountable" for alleged wrongdoing, "Including Spencer." The writer is a fellow who has sent me numerous more explicit death threats in the past. It goes with the territory: oppose Islamic supremacism, and you will run afoul of Islamic supremacist thugs. They can't refute us, so in their rage they declare they're going to silence us by other means. And maybe they will someday. But they won't be able to silence the truth.

"Congressional Candidate Says She's Target Of Death Threats," by Nick Beres for WTVF.com, June 28 (thanks to Creeping Sharia):

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - Murfreesboro detectives are investigating alleged death threats made against a candidate for the U.S. Congress.

This comes as tensions escalate over a proposed new Islamic Center in Rutherford County.

Republican candidate Lou Ann Zelenik is running for the 6th district Congressional seat and said she and her staff are dealing with some scary phone threats.

"They're saying things you wouldn't want to hear," said Zelenik.

According to Zelenik, the threats target her, her staff and some supporters.

The alleged calls started coming late last week after Zelenik issued this statement critical of the proposed new Islamic Center: "This Islamic Center is not part of a religious movement; it is a political movement designed to fracture the moral and political foundation of middle Tennessee."

The comment made news not just here, but across the country. Zelenik still stands by what she said,

"Those who know me know I'm not the politically correct candidate," said Zelenik.

Zelenik and her staff have filed a report with the Murfreesboro police department....

Why does so much Muslim "dialogue" include death threats?

For now the islamists get away with these threats. Something tells me that middle Tennessee won't tolerate that stuff to long before someone does something about it and it won't be the police. I am not condoning vigilante justice with this post but I do think that eventually Americans will get tired of it and will do something on their own.

Please support candidates who stand against creeping Islam/Sharia, like GOP candidate Vijay Kumar running in Tennessee 5th CD and Zelenik running in Tennessee 6th CD. Both understand the threat of Stealth Jihad.

Her opponent, all of her opponents, should express total solidarity with her, and demand that the FBI find and prosecute "to the fullest extent of the law" the man who made the threats, and anyone else who may have been aware, have egged him on, or known and not reported him. And this should be the response in every such case, with huge fines, prison terms, and of course deportation whenever possible -- and if it is not sufficiently possible, then change the laws to make sure that not only the individual is deported, "but all others whose acquisition of American citizenship may reasonably be seen as having depended upon him."

Do this, and keep doing it.

Meanwhile, without knowing a thing about any of the candidates save for this matter, I already know enough to recommend that everyone in the 6th Congressional District vote for Lou Ann Zelenik. What's this -- I should wait to find out where she stands on other issues?

Oh no, I don't have to. Nor, if you are a voter in the relevant district, and have your priorities at this moment in world history straight, should you.

It goes with the territory: oppose Islamic supremacism, and you will run afoul of Islamic supremacist thugs.

Ahhh, the 6th Pillar of Islam in action. The most effective self-censorship enforcer in world history.

Did I miss something, or did Trey and Matt totally fold when Viacom censored their satire of Mohammed in the South Park episode?

Don't blame them, though. I wouldn't wanna force my wife and kids into a life of protective custody and the constant threat of murder by an unknown Moslem Activist.

Notice that the article talks about 'alleged' death threats; with a strong hinted message that Zelenik may be exaggerating, or even making things up.

Notice these two paragraphs:

"Adkison [i.e. Major Clyde Adkison of Murfreesboro police] said police were aware the proposed new Islamic Center has polarized the community.

"Already, someone vandalized the proposed center's sign at the new site.

"And now there are alleged threats against Zelenik."

So on the one hand there is 'vandalism' of the sign the Muslims had put up; and I get the impression the reporter takes it for granted that *only* Murfreesboro non-Muslims would have done it.

The threats, on the other hand, are only 'alleged'. I wonder: did the reporter even think to ask Zelenik to show him some transcripts?

He seems to regard the vandalism as real and the death threats as unreal or even trivial.

I would like to know, too, more about the alleged *vandalism* of the sign. I'd like to know *exactly* what that vandalism was (physical damage? or graffiti? and if graffiti, what did it say?) And when did it happen? Did anyone see it being done? - and were the witnesses Muslim or non-Muslim? Who reported it? The Muslims, or non-Muslims?

For, to be frank, I wouldn't be in the least surprised if it turned out that the Muslims had faked the vandalism of the sign themselves, so as to be able to pose as poor suffering innocent victims of eevil Christian/ infidel bigotry and hate. If I were the police chief, I'd have run a full fingerprints and forensics check on the vandalised sign and its surrounds, the moment the report was made. And I'd install a few hidden cameras at strategic points around the proposed mosque site; but I *wouldn't* tell the Muslims I'd done it.

Further thought.

I hope that Zelenik and all others on her team who have received these threats, as soon as the first couple of threats came in, got the police to help them set up facilities for *recording* phone calls received.

I hope they are copying, even printing off, and keeping, every email threat that comes in...and getting the tech-savvy nerds to do a bit of internet tracking on same.

I hope they have gotten some FBI or CIA advice about how to handle their snail-mail, in case someone tries sending a letter bomb, or a contaminated letter.

Contravene Muslims in most any manner and the probability of death threats thereafter is very high (of what other major religion can this be said?). Here we do not have an exception to this rule. Shame on Islam for this. Shame on Mohammed for this. Shame on all adult Muslims for this (yes, ALL adult Muslims, because Islam is a prescription for lethal hissy fits and Mohammed is no man who should be admired). Shame too on all adult Muslims who teach their children the religion of hate and intolerance; doing so is a form of child abuse. Shame all around.

I was thinking the same as American Infidel; people in that part of the U.S. really like their guns and also are not as easily intimidated as "city folk".

Reminds me of a punchline to an old Texan joke:

"That's 'cause we ain't played Cowboys and Muslims yet."

I read this and called her campaign HQ. I didn't know if they were taking note of how many people supported her stand, but in case they were I wanted to register mine. I talked to a nice young man who said calls of support were coming in from all over the country.

I also donated, meagerly I'm ashamed to say... but what I could.

"Tolerance of those who would destroy tolerance if they could is not evidence of an enlightened mind, but rather of a morally timid and confused one."

Non-Muslim residents' of Lilburn, GA, harassed and menaced by male Muslims after mosk "expansion" not approved:

http://www.ajc.com/news/gwinnett/lilburn-mosque-foes-allege-552778.html

From the Atlanta Journal-Constitution:

Lilburn mosque foes allege harassment

By Shane Blatt

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
June 18, 2010

Lilburn’s Hood Road carries new Gwinnett into old Gwinnett. The mile of asphalt begins with a mosque at U.S. 29 and turns into a byway of houses, trees and gardens.

But now, when the sun goes down, tension grows in this tidy, middle-class neighborhood.

Some residents opposed to a mosque expansion on Hood Road say for the past seven months, they've been the frequent targets of harassment, mostly by those they describe as "Middle Eastern men". But a founder of the mosque says the claims are unfounded and the city's mayor, who lives on Hood Road, hasn't witnessed anything unusual.

Nonetheless, residents have reported vehicles traveling the road at night with occupants yelling, making obscene gestures, snapping photos, even confronting two women in their driveway.

Since November, when city leaders ruled against a local Muslim congregation's plans to expand, the Lilburn Police Department has received 21 calls of suspicious activity along Hood Road.

Lilburn police officials say they have investigated every claim and patrolled Hood Road around the clock for two months starting in April, when reports started to escalate.

"We have been unable to substantiate any crime by any person there," Lilburn police Capt. Bruce Hedley told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "[Residents] feel certain people have been driving up and down the road harassing them. Suspicious cars simply driving down the road is not something we can arrest someone for."

And Wasi Zaidi, a founding member of the Muslim congregation of Dar-E-Abbas, said residents' claims are "all lies and B.S.," trumped up by a handful of people who have a political ax to grind against the mayor and the Police Department.

Still, residents say, the harassment is real. Some have installed security camera systems. Others are carrying guns.

"A lot of people are locked and loaded because they don't know what's going to happen," resident Angel Alonso, 46, said. "We have a feeling somebody is going to get hurt."

Residents say the harassment started Nov. 18, the same day the Lilburn City Council rejected the congregation's proposal for a 20,000-square-foot mosque, cemetery and gym at U.S. 29 and Hood Road. The council's decision has since sparked a federal religious discrimination lawsuit against the city.

The congregation has worshipped at two 2,000-square-foot buildings on the same property for nearly 12 years. It owns 1.4 acres of the land and wanted to buy an additional 6.5 acres to accommodate the city's growing Muslim population. Lilburn Mayor Diana Preston owns four of those acres.

In November, more than 400 residents packed the Gwinnett County courthouse to protest the rezoning. They argued it would pose traffic and parking problems and run afoul of the city's land-use plan.

After the meeting in Lawrenceville, resident Janie Hood said she was followed and boxed in on U.S. 29 by a van and sport utility vehicle full of "Middle Eastern" males, according to a police report. The vehicles were pulled over. Hood didn't pursue the matter further, the report said.

But Hood said she didn't drop it. Since March, she said she has spoken three times to the Gwinnett County District Attorney's Office, which is investigating.

Now the 56-year-old Hood, whose father and grandfather built Hood Road, won't sleep at her house at night, not since an attempted break-in in late December, she said. And on April 23, Hood said five vehicles pulled in front of her property. Two to three men exited and approached, according to a police report. Hood's daughter, Christi Nichols, who feared for her safety, grabbed a firearm and told the men to leave, the report said.

"It's getting worse and worse," Hood said. "All we get from the Police Department is, ‘Stay in your house.' We will stay in our house, but we should haven't to."

Zaidi, of the Muslim congregation, said the 90-plus families who worship at the mosque have "nothing to do with this."

"They're saying the mayor isn't doing her job, the police chief isn't doing his job," Zaidi said. "But if they falsely accuse us, we will sue them."

For months, the mayor was in the cross hairs of the controversy. In January, a group of residents demanded Preston step down or be removed from office for trying to sell her land to the congregation. Preston maintained she had a right to sell her property and refused to quit.

To avoid a conflict of interest, Preston recuses herself from all mosque-related meetings.

As for the harassment claims, Preston gardens close to dusk and up until recently has slept with her windows open. She said she hasn't seen or heard anything.

"It's a mystery," the mayor said. "But every complaint that is made the city is taking seriously and investigating it and giving it due process. A policeman is here quite frequently. I really don't know what else [the city] could do."

Yusof Burke, president of the board for the Council on American-Islamic Relations in Georgia, said the city's decision against the rezoning created tension in the neighborhood, but he didn't think it would boil up into this.

"I've never heard of this happening before," Burke said of the alleged harassment. "The best solution is to meet and talk things out."

A month ago, a group of residents met with the city manager and police officials.

"We were told that yes, people can take pictures of our houses. Yes, they can stop in front of our houses," resident Allan Owen said. "The city has essentially been useless."

Councilman Scott Batterton said the city has tied up significant police manpower to investigate every claim.

"I feel like we need to make no apologies in terms of our efforts to catch or to see what's going on on Hood Road," he said. "Policeman like to arrest people for doing wrong. So far, they have not yet been able to identify anyone."

Capt. Hedley said Lilburn police officers now patrol Hood Road twice a day, and they will continue to investigate all leads.

"I'd love for the community to return to where it was," Hedley said. "A nice, peaceful neighborhood."

From the rest of the article (just click on the link provided), the usual boilerplate taqiyya exercise.

"The Islamic Center of Murfreesboro hosted an open house this past weekend **to help educate the public and clear up misconceptions** {my emphasis - dda}".

- oh, suuure, I bet they did...I wonder, did they have the pretty 'Discovering Islam' posters plastered all over the place? If so, here, as a public service to any good citizen of Murfreesboro, or any staffer of Ms Zelenik's, who may be lurking here reading over my shoulder, is a critical analysis of those infinitely-deceptive posters:

http://revuse.wetpaint.com/page/Discover%20Islam

And here, in case there are any more such 'open houses' in Murfreesboro or parts thereabout, in the immediate future, is Mr Fitzgerald's advice about Visiting the Mosque:

http://www.jihadwatch.org/2006/08/fitzgerald-tips-for-visiting-a-mosque.html

'Fitzgerald: Tips for Visiting a Mosque'.

More:

"Members told Newschannel5 on Monday **they do not condone violence or threats**."

- Oh, suure. But if this is the wording of the statement as given, if they said only 'we do not condone violence or threats', it is vague and general; it does not specify who is the agent of that violence and those threats which are not condoned, and who is the victim. My guess, if the quote is what they said, is that the most it means is that the Muslims of Murfreesboro don't condone, don't approve of, violence *by non-Muslims against Muslims* or threats *from non-Muslims toward Muslims*...leaving open the possibility that the other way round is fine. And 'violence' and 'threats' in Islamspeak = any opposition to Islam whatsoever, even the mildest of verbal criticism.

"Police say there is no evidence anyone local is responsible for the threatening phone calls."

- And does that necessarily mean that the local Muslims have nothing to do with it? I don't see that it does. What could have been easier than for one or more of the Murfreesboro Muslims to ring - or even flit off and visit - cousin Ali in New York or Uncle Mohammed in Florida and commission them to send some misleadingly-out-of-state threats to Ms Zelenik?

"Zelenik conceded many of the threatening calls appear to be coming from out of state."

"She said she'll still take precautions while on the campaign trail."

Sensible woman. Kevlar vest, at least, my dear lady. And, if you can, if it is legal for an aspiring congresswoman on the campaign trail...carry a weapon. At home, too. Got a good dog at home? If you haven't, better get one.

You're going up against the Mohammedan Mob, Ms Zelenik. It is very much like challenging the Mafia. You'll meet elegant and plausible spokesmen in suits and sunnily-smiling females in hijabs, all of whom can talk charmingly forever while saying nothing to the purpose; but that's only the 'front', the public PR face of 'the Family', while the other face, the business side, the hidden side, is comprised of the people that Nonie Darwish calls 'allah's enforcers'.

""I'd love for the community to return to where it was," Hedley said. "A nice, peaceful neighborhood."

sans Muslims...

Oppose the mosk, the peaceful mosk and its tolerant, pluralist visitors, and death threats are the reward.

No wonder they're ridiculed around the world. They have no vision that doesn't entail blood pouring out of wounds they inflict on others.

They, like their founder, are bottom-feeding throwback cowards.

Hugh, how I wish I'd had your "Tips for Visiting a Mosque" in late September, 2001, when the idiot pastor of one of our local churches -- located about 300 feet from the home of a 9/11 victim -- invited an imam to address her congregation on the subject of 9/11 and how It Wasn't About Islam. All I could do was show up as an uninvited non-member of that (or any other) congregation wearing a "Proud to Be an Infidel" button and glare at the taqiyya-spouting iman as he proceeding to lecture us on Monica Lewinsky (that at least drew gasps from the otherwise dhimmified audience) while his hijabbed wife gazed adoringly.

Had I known then what I know now thanks to people like you and Robert, I probably would have started a riot and wound up in jail but it would have been more than worth it.

These Muslims are in the middle of the Bible Belt, don't they know any better?

Ahh, harrassment. The mating call of the Muslim male.

I believe there is more of this to come.

In a republic, when an elected town board votes against erecting a mosque (or a Dunkin' Donut shop), individual board members do not have to explain their votes. They have an obligation to represent those who elected them and if they don't, they can be voted out, or possibly impeached.

On what grounds can the mosque builders bring a suit? Oh, I know you can bring all sorts of lawsuits, but it sounds here like the board is duly representing their constituents. Will that be a crime now?

A mosque is not like a church or a synagogue. It is a political center, a meeting-place, a center of propaganda and indoctrination. Mosques in Europe have sometimes been raided by the police who have found guns, explosives, false papers (even hidden in false ceilings) of every kind. Mosques are places from which you can fire on your enemies, especially Infidel enemies, or attack your enemies, if it is the mosque of an enemy.

It is absurd to speak of mosques as if they are merely houses of worship, just as it is absurd to pretend that Islam does not contain a politics and a geopolitics in what is a Total Belief-System. The game of Let's Pretend may satisfy some in the Interfaith Healing Racket, but why should intelligent people go along with the charade?

Excellent post, Hugh ...as always :)

Zaidi, of the Muslim congregation, said the 90-plus families who worship at the mosque have "nothing to do with this."

"They're saying the mayor isn't doing her job, the police chief isn't doing his job," Zaidi said. "But if they falsely accuse us, we will sue them."

How does Zaidi know the savages who "worship at the mosque" have nothing to do with the harassment and intimidation?! Who else would do it? Muslims are disgusting and worthless; if they can't get away with killing their opponents, they sue them. I'm sure the killing will come later, after hundreds of mega-mosques/armories are constructed all over the country and stocked with bombs, machine guns, rockets, and every type of weapon they can get their hands on. Our useless Department of HOmeland Security is teeming with muslims in high positions and Obama is placing them in strategic positions throughout our government. We're screwed.

"We're screwed."
How right you are. It's the American people against the Muslims, the illegal aliens, and the Marxist/Progressive/Socialist (take your pick) federal govt. Have I left anyone out?
We've got our work cut out for us.

I'm in. Do you have her 'phone # or e-mail?

Aren't death threats against the law? Shouldn't those who receive death threats demand that the law be enforced?

"We haven't played Cowboys and Muslims yet"... No, we haven't, but it's coming.
I like how muslims like to act all innocent with their "Religeon of Peace" bullcrap. In their "Holey" Qa'ran it is written that it is OK to lie like hell to infidels and enemies as long as it promotes Islam. Why do we even speak to these people??? Why does anyone try to reason with them??? Their religeon is simply intolerant of anyone else and their goal is to rule over the whole world with their sick, intolerant beliefs. They have made that very clear, but everyone thinks we can reason with them. We are asleep at the wheel here... France and England are already on the edge of their extinction. God help us (and He will) when the real conflict begins. Thank God for guns in America!

"America' is under attack from several directions, and we are being invaded and occupied...

Slightly ot...

Most Americans don't know about the 'La Paz agreement' 1983, which explains a lot about Americas southern border, and the governments reluctance to do much about it...

I chose this site as a reference because it is someones research program, and is very revealing...

http://www.channelingreality.com/UN/Regionalization/La_Paz_Agreement.htm

in Arabic the word for mosque is 'masjid' meaning, "place of battle"..........clear enough?

Islam and all it's followers need to pack up and get out of the USA! America is happy to allow people to follow their beliefs in a peaceful religion, but Islam has proven a million times over, it is not peaceful and has no intention of being so just as they have no intention of blending in with society or contributing to society. Islam cannot get along among itself, how do they expect to get along with civilized, decent people? They don't expect to, they expect decent societies to bow down to their low levels of inhumanity! The Bible gives a Perfect Desciption of Allah when Satan is described in the text. Satan = Allah! Now it all makes sense!

in Arabic the word for mosque is 'masjid' meaning, "place of battle".

This has been discussed here before...I think masjid actually is an ancient Enochian word meaning 'public restroom'...But you have to know something about Enochian 'Calls' to follow it...That's why in the west, we paint yellow lines on the floors of public buildings...We can follow it to the masjid...
and don't need any 'calls', other than the call of nature to do it...

Global jihadists see Nashville as the "heart" of the U.S. To conquer it and dominate it with a mega-mosque (like the one at ground zero), would be a victory and sign of domination. They couldn't possess it if it were radioactive for centuries, but it would be a shame if they took over the empty buildings in like what happened in Israeli settlements.

This is the ideology that your Arab-American unqualified U.S.President wants us to respect... Sounds like the "respect us or else" club. America, what are you going to do?

Nope, not if Obama is the President. Remember? He wants us to respect islam.

Make no mistake about the source of the boldness of these deadly threats. The source lays squarely in the White House with our Muslim-born president who has deep sympathies for the world of Islam. Do not be deceived by his pretensions that the nation is at war with Al Qaeda, even as we seek to win the minds and hearts of their supporters. Mr. Obama's counter terrorism adviser speaks forthrightly for him. Jihad is a 'holy struggle, a legitimate tenet of Islam, meaning to purify oneself or one's community', etc. So long as this dangerous man is ensconced firmly in the White House and his allies control Congress, we can expect further displays of boldness from these domestic foes. They have their man in the White House.

We "Rednecks" from Georgia and Tennesee will no doubt be called "Racists" or "Islamophobes" for our concerns about this. My biggest concern is that the death threats against the candidate are not national headline news. Most of us are able to protect ourselves against any local mahounds. We are not able to protect against a mainstream media and congress who are PC/MC to the core.

Paula beat me to it.

Rico,

I'm in Georgia now, too... armed with knowledge from this great site and its contributors, and my Glock.

And speaking of law-abiding and liberty-loving American men and women being armed and perpetually on watch, can you believe that Supreme Court decision this week?

5-4? It should have been 9-0. What say you?

"And they are ignorant that the purpose of the sword is to save every man from slavery."

Marcus Annaeus Lucanus Roman poet (A.D. 39-65)

And Islam will not enslave the West. Men and women who share the spirits of Martel, Sobieski, Jeferson and Churchill live today, and will not intimidated.

Sorry for the double post.

I second Hugh's comment on mosques above - a mosque is authorized by the hadith as a place to store arms and keep prisoners (Williams - The Day of Islam)and as reported in Iraq a place for firing at enemies. And every mosque constructed in America is an act of Islamic supremacy, producing Allah Akbar adrenalin in the Muslim street throughout Dar al Islam. Another "helmet" (Erdogan) in the heart of the Great Satan.

If people want mosques they should go to a Muslim country.

Call me The Galilean an Arab Christian who speaks against building any mosques in the USA. the Islamic religion is an evil in its nature.

These people will kill any christian and a jew as their Gos commands them to do we are called the Infidels who must die.

There Prophet was possessed by the devil had 40 wives the last was 9 years old. shall I continue...

They will attack US citizens and kill them as they have been and still killing Arab Christians, look to Egypt the Christian are killed daily and their Government does nothing because they are of the same faith.

If we allow these people to build and expand our wives and daughters are in danger.

I have seen their act their faith I know what they are capable of doing. They kill any one who speaks against Islam they are not a Peaceful religion but Evil in every way.

In the East our Churches are burnt, Our ministers are killed, the Christians are tortured because of our faith in Christ. Do not give them the freedom they ask which they deny to every none Muslim in their country.

If they want to have Islamic free worship and life style let go back to their own country.

The Galilean
