This is a great article! We must not allow ourselves to be silent and refuse to take the left's diatribe and name calling that they use against those who disagree with the left! It is far worse in countries like Canada where the left has ruled without impunity. Even those in my family who are far left loons have used these same tactics against me because they cannot present facts to defend their words. the left are high on emotion and do not need facts. We have the advantage of truth backed with facts.

The biggest challenge we face is that all too many people who no longer buy the lies of the Left still allow themselves to be cowed by this psychological manipulation, such that they're afraid to speak out for the truth themselves, or afraid to venture outside the bounds of what the Left has delineated as acceptable discourse. The hardest obstacles to clear away are not the Left's control of the mainstream media, but our own mind-forged manacles.

I have been saying that, though considerably less eloquently and concisely than you, in my many debates with people who after abandoning the planet of the Left, could not see that they still carry the eggs of the "alien" in their unconscious mind.

Sometimes I think that for a once-Leftist to finally and completely purge his mind of the dogmas, taboos and reflexes implanted there during the years of his leftist disease is harder than for a Muslim to break out from the dungeon of Islam.

The fact is that the left is weaning. I feel that the computer age has done them in. There used to be a time where the average layman (including me) didn't have a proper say. Now, the liberals have no choice in hearing the truth. We have the truth on our side. Sure, the majority are ignorantily blissfull, but, that doesn't mean they can't be convereted to the good side. Look at, for example, arizona's effort to enforce the law that already exists at the federal level. Look at the public reaction for the law.

I say, speak the truth. The public, generally, is truthfull. They say on the street what is comfortable to say at the time(PC MC), but strongly lean towards the truth in private. Liberalism is a fraud. They can't hold off against the truth forever.

I might be giving the general public too much credit. Just my 2 cents.

Its the fear, always the fear. Fear of ridicule, fear of being branded a right-wing Islamophobe (badge I'd personally wear with honour) fear of being slandered in the media, fear of being attacked - both figuratively and literally - by Muslims. That is one of the biggest fear of those Muslims who would otherwise speak out. But have you noticed that the ones who DO are either former extremists or former Muslims themselves? They have been so traumatized by their experience as Muslims and/or by taking part in jihad that they quite fearlessly speak out at every opportunity. People like Wafa Sultan, Hirshan Ali, Noor Huda Ismail in Indonesia and Maajid Nawaz of the Quilliam Foundation in the UK (and former Hizbut Tahrir extremist) - the media and responsible journalists have a DUTY to make sure such people are heard. But as Robert has pointed out, they all to frequently do just the opposite and are stooges and propagandists of the Islamic extremists these courageous people are trying to warn us about! The left's sycophancy with Islam is sickening and it destroys the very freedom of speech that they of all people should be defending!

But its not just journalists in the West that are guilty, so are governments. In Australia this is exemplified by the Department of Foreign Affairs (equivalent of the US State Department) banning of access to Jihad Watch on the basis it promotes hatred and Islamophobia. And its not the only government agency to do so.

Jihad by stealth is upon us and our fundamental freedoms are under attack at every quarter.

Geert Wilders is still fighting a battle in the Netherlands, but more and more people who had not voted for him this time are so disgusted with what is going on in the Netherlands, who after the last election still have not yet formed a government, they vowed to voted PVV (Geert Wilders ) next time.
With him having won and they still try to put him aside, incl. the Queen, is really disturbing.
It is for most Americans hard to follow with the many parties they have in the Netherlands.
Every day I read a couple of dutch newspaper and read the responds from the people, majority in favor of Geert.
Why does England allow a black American, who is a convert to Islam, preach such a hate speeches in the Mosque were he preaches, it is all about killing the unbeliever. Not trusting them, not befriending them.
When it is done the other way around, people get arrested, that is so disturbing.
What is unbelievable too that this is happening in the US, that in Texas, people by a Baptist church were carrying signs " God hate Jews ".
What in the world is going on in America?
Don't they understand that Judaism and Christianity are having the same enemy? Where have these people been the last couple of years, did they burry their hands in the sand. Or did they believe the nonsense from the Bushes and Obama, Islam the Religion of Peace.
Have seen no Peace in where ever country in the world they are, from caning, lassing, stoning, beheading,chopping of limps and hanging, abusing women, something aweful is going on. Human rights out of the window.

It is a great idea to call Main Stream Media out for their lies and lazy reporting. I just am not sure that I know how to do it. We can write letters to the editor and call talk shows and point out their mistakes and lies. In a few cases we can petition for their firing. I hardly ever get interviewed by journalists. I try and go "outside the box" when it helps win an argument but still feel that I need a practical guide as the task ahead is onerous.

The first hurdle is the November Elections. What ever momentum we gain from that we MUST increase. Hopefully the Tea Party will scare the pants of enough Democraps and Repukelicans that a wake up call will be answered.
