I cannot go, but I'm going to try to send my brother Rick (not the moonbat Steve)! Rick lives near Harrisburg, PA and he and I see things pretty much alike. He's unemployed and working independently these days so he has some free time on his hands.

He's a lovable goofball (!) and if I can get him to go, maybe I can get him to wear an "Eleanor Ruth" nametag?!

Ten Aussie flags should be flying on 9/11 amidst the sea of 2700 American flags representing the Americans, our friends and allies (and rescuers, in WWII), for ten murdered Aussies. Nine were killed in NYC (one in a plane, eight in the towers where they were employed) and one was on board the plane that hit the Pentagon.

Here they are. Just this last Sunday I spent several hours on the internet, combing through the lists of the dead, a few memorial sites and a bunch of newspaper articles on line, to find them.

From NSW:

- Alberto Dominguez, 66, from Lidcombe. A Qantas baggage handler on holidays, he was on board American Airlines Flight 11 which crashed into the World Trade Centre (WTC) in New York. Note: Alberto, an Australian citizen, was born in Spain and had migrated to Australia years ago: he was a prominent member of Australia's Spanish community. So he represents Spain as well as Australia.

- Yvonne Kennedy, 62, a retired Red Cross worker, from Sydney, was on American Airlines Flight 77 that crashed into the Pentagon in Washington.

- Craig Neil Gibson, 37, from Randwick in Sydney, was working on 94th floor of the WTC north tower in the offices of insurers Marsh and McLennan.

- Steve Tompsett, 39, from Merrylands, NSW, was in the WTC north tower.

- Elisa Ferraina, 27, from Sydney. She was born in Australia, but had just taken out UK citizenship (so she can be claimed by the UK as well). She was on the 106th floor of the WTC north tower.

- Lesley Anne Thomas, 41, from NSW, was in the WTC north tower.

VICTORIA:

- Leanne Whiteside, 31, a hot-shot young lawyer from Melbourne, was in the WTC south tower.

- Peter Gyulavary, 44, architect and environmental engineer, was born in Geelong, Victoria but had moved to the US 20 years ago and there carved out a career. He was working on the 91st floor of the WTC south tower.

SOUTH AUSTRALIA:

- Andrew Knox, 29, from Adelaide was working with a building construction company on the 103rd floor of the WTC north tower.

QUEENSLAND:
- Kevin Dennis, 43, was originally from the Gold Coast, but had become a US-based stock-broker with Cantor Fitzgerald and was working on the 101st floor of WTC north tower.

Alberto, Yvonne, Craig, Steve, Elisa, Lesley, Leanne, Peter, Andrew and Kevin: ten Australians whose ashes are now inextricably commingled with those of their American hosts and colleagues, in and around Ground Zero. Ten innocent non-Muslim people who with thousands of others were - to put it bluntly - *human sacrifices* on the altar of allah, butchered in order to provide tickets to 'paradise' for their Muslim murderers and in order (so the murderers believed) to advance the power of the Ummah, or Mohammedan Mob and the power and dominance of Islam, Islam, Islam.

I spent a long time pondering that map and the author's words. The map itself is of the various indigenous ethnic groups in Europe, and roughly approximates the political fragmentation of the continent before Charlemagne, Isabella and Ferdinand, Metternich, and various others who worked to create what became the modern nation states of Europe. The map might as well have been of the pre-Columbian territories of the various native American tribes. Interesting, no doubt, to ethnographers, anthropologists, historians, linguists and others whose focus is on the past, but ultimately forming only a perturbation to the dynamics and currents of modern global politics. It strikes me as yet another Fukuyama-like exercise that only a cloistered academic could come up with.
