FBI refuses to cave in to Hamas-linked CAIR's intimidation tactics over Spencer invitation

A month after the Hamas-linked Islamic supremacist hate group CAIR tried to intimidate the FBI into apologizing for inviting me to speak in Virginia some time ago, Politico noticed the story and asked the FBI about it. The FBI, which is on to CAIR, wouldn't throw the wolves any red meat.

"FBI defends invitation to Islam critic," by Ben Smith at Politico, August 31:

The FBI is defending its invitation to a prominent critic of Islam in America, who is also one of the leaders of the fight to stop a downtown Manhattan mosque and Islamic Center.

The Council on American Islamic Relations complained late last month that Robert Spencer, who runs the Jihad Watch site and is co-founder of Stop the Islamization of America, had spoken to the Tidewater Joint Terrorism Task Force, a combination of state, federal, and local law enforcement centered in Norfolk, Virginia.

Spencer, along with his confrontational stand toward the New York project, has long been at odds with Muslim leaders for alleging  links between American Muslim leaders and extremism. He has also been a critic of the religion of Islam itself, suggesting that the historical Mohammed, for instance, did not exist, and that the portrayal of him in the Qaran [sic] is of a "con man."

Highly compressed and tendentious. A fictional con man? This is what happens when ideologically biased reporters in a hurry try to summarize positions they don't understand.

"Our nation's law enforcement personnel should not receive training from the head of a hate group that seeks to demonize Islam and to prevent American Muslims from exercising their rights as citizens," said CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper, who also noted that Spencer and blogger Pamela Geller recently published a book subtitled, "The Obama Administration's War on America."

But the chief division for the Norfolk FBI field office, Phil Mann, defended the invitation to Spencer.

"We invite speakers who represent a variety of viewpoints and the special agent in charge of the Norfolk office has invited local Muslim leaders to speak to his staff.  That doesn’t mean we enodrse [sic] our [sic] adopt the view of any particular speaker," Mann said. "Broad knowledge is essential for us to better understand and respond to the threats that we face. Knowledge also helps us defeat ignorance and strengthen relationships with the diverse communites that we serve."  [...]

Spencer responded to a question about CAIR's attack with a link to his own press release on the matter, dismissing CAIR as a "hate group" and citing praise of his work from prominent conservatives.

Smith doesn't tell his readers, of course, that CAIR operatives have repeatedly refused to denounce Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist groups. Nor does he mention that CAIR is an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case. Or that several of its former officials have been convicted of various crimes related to jihad terror. Or that two of its other officials have made Islamic supremacist statements. Nor does he mention that CAIR also was involved in the Flying Imams' intimidation suit against the passengers who reported their suspicious behavior.

CAIR's attempt to intimidate the FBI and JTTF and dictate their choice of speakers contained numerous false charges, defamation, distortions, and outright lies about me, SIOA, and Pamela Geller.

CAIR has a long record of duplicity and deception. Although it has received millions of dollars in donations from foreign Islamic entities, it has not registered as a foreign agent as required by the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA), despite spreading Islamic supremacist propaganda within the United States.

Although it presents itself as a civil rights group, CAIR actually has numerous links to Islamic supremacist and jihad groups. CAIR founders Omar Ahmad and Niwad Awad (who still serves as CAIR's executive director) were present at a Hamas planning meeting in Philadelphia in 1993 where they and other Hamas operatives conspired to raise funds for Hamas and to promote jihad in the Middle East. CAIR has steadfastly refused to denounce Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist groups.

Several former CAIR officials have been convicted of various crimes related to jihad terror:

* Ghassan Elashi, founder of CAIR's Texas chapter, in 2009 received a 65-year prison sentence for funneling over $12 million from the Islamic charity known as the Holy Land Foundation to the jihad terrorist group Hamas, which is responsible for murdering hundreds of Israeli civilians
* Mousa Abu Marzook, a former CAIR official, was in 1995 designated by the U.S. government in 1995 as a "terrorist and Hamas leader." He now is a Hamas leader in Syria.
* Randall Royer, CAIR's former civil rights coordinator, in 2004 began serving a 20-year prison sentence for aiding al-Qaida and the Taliban against American troops in Afghanistan and recruiting for Lashkar e-Taiba, the jihadist group responsible for the 2008 Mumbai jihad massacres.
* Bassem Khafagi, CAIR's former community relations director, was arrested for involvement with the Islamic Assembly of North America, which was linked to al-Qaida. After pleading guilty to visa and bank fraud charges, Khafagi was deported.
* Rabih Haddad, a former CAIR fundraiser, was deported for his work with the Global Relief Foundation (which he co-founded), a terror-financing organization.

In 1998 Omar Ahmad, CAIR's co-founder and longtime Board Chairman, said: "Islam isn't in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant. The Koran should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth."

After he received unwelcome publicity as a result of this statement, Ahmad denied saying it, several years after the fact. However, the original reporter, Lisa Gardiner of the Fremont Argus, stands by her story.

CAIR's spokesman Ibrahim Hooper once said: "I wouldn't want to create the impression that I wouldn't like the government of the United States to be Islamic sometime in the future."

So I asked Smith why he didn't tell his readers any of this. He responded by saying that he already had told his readers about CAIR, just yesterday, in fact -- and directed me to this piece, which, as you'll see, says nothing about CAIR's Hamas ties or anything else, but instead actually touts CAIR, weirdly, as an "alternative" to Hamas. Smith explained in an email to me: "I understand that you're asking me why I didn't restate the entire case against CAIR, and their response, your response to them, and so on, in my blog item. This is a complaint of a form I get five or ten times a day. I write a blog, and mostly take little bites of stories. I was writing a small item about your appearance -- and your prominence around the mosque issue, and your stance toward obama [sic], make that of modest interest to me, and to readers in general I think, beyond the context of CAIR's complaint -- to speak to the FBI. There are a lot of things I don't write every day, and the history and controversies around CAIR were, indeed, among them."

Every day, or any day. Par for the course for the mainstream media.

"Our nation's law enforcement personnel should not receive training from the head of a hate (sic) group that seeks to demonize Islam..." said CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper,

As though mahoundianism didn't do a great job of demonizing itself every day, with every bomb or dynamite-stick suppository that explodes, every honor killing, every childish tantrum by muslim "scholars" and "experts" like those that can be seen on MEMRITV, with every single act of violence against human beings (i.e., infidels) in mahoundian-majority countries, every rape of infidel women "divinely sanctioned" by Mein Qurampf 33:59, every single act of emulation of the genocidal pedophile Mahound, and so on.

And, still on the topic of how mahoundianism does an excellent job of demonizing itself, how about the Nuremberg-rally-like Friday "prayers" that block whole streets in Western Europe, preventing people from going about their business because hundreds of mahoundians want to laze about and bang their heads on the ground?

So the reason we don't hear from the media about Muslim hate groups as hate groups is because they all ready covered it once, however long ago? No room to restate, no time to link? And for those who missed it first, what, check the archives?
Is this the same reason why few know that Al Sharpton led two murderous lynch mobs in NY years ago, but today is a sought after civil rights "leader" and politician?

Robert Spencer
Is there an update on the indictment of CAIR leaders? Is the government following through or did they decide to end it?

www.infideltaskforce.webs.com

What a great day for America, a great Victory!
A government agency exercises common sense and proper judgement and it is headline news !

Robert, your approach in responding to these matters is, as always, professional, dignified and factual. These instances present themselves as opportunities to teach on the underlying core and substance of Islam itself as well as on the methods of deception practiced by Islam's adherents. Such underhanded methods must of course be so employed by Islam's apologists because the unvarnished Islam is so repulsive to and so much at odds with Western values.

It was refreshing to learn that the particular FBI personnel involved in this instance were open to learning various points of view. In such a case those of us who hold the truth have nothing to fear. CAIR and others of its ilk on the other hand have a great deal to fear from the truth behind Mohammed and Islam. This explains why they go about the business of hiding the core tenets of Islam, and why none of them will engage you in an open debate. Ergo, they trade, as they must, in ad hominem, not facts.

People are learning that nothing told to them about Islam can be taken at face value, especially when they also learn that deceit in the cause of Islam is an accepted part of this political ideology.

Good on the FBI for showing some spine here. We used to hear the same whining and complaining whenever a cult expert would give a presentation about the Moonies, Scienology, or whatever. Some of the FBI "experts" would be all too ready to cave to the pressure.

I'm in a bit of a hurry. I sent this piece out to one of our radio talk show hosts. Then there is this piece below the FBI story on Politico. Who is this man, Dennis McKeon, "who is not a victims' relative himself?"

This seems outrageous. Why would he oppose this demonstration?

http://www.politico.com/blogs/maggiehaberman/0810/911_victims_families_group_opposes_anniversary_mosque_rallies.html?showall

The rally set for the ninth anniversary of Sept. 11 against the Ground Zero-area mosque, which is being organized by conservative blogger Pamela Geller, is drawing opposition from a key 9/11 victims' families group that is asking that the event's date be moved and, if it isn't, that participants back out.

The word from "Where to Turn," a group that was launched by Staten Islander Dennis McKeon - who is not a victims' relative himself but who started a clearinghouse of information related to the attacks and to Ground Zero with Staten Island families - came in an email to their list just now, which is in full after the jump......

LOL at Ben Smith's pathetic defense of censoring the truth from his readers. Typical of the media to describe people who disagree with them as levying a charge, then refusing to reproduce any evidence that would support that charge. Makes us all look like loonies.

"Although it [CAIR] has received millions of dollars in donations from foreign Islamic entities, it has not registered as a foreign agent as required by the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA), despite spreading Islamic supremacist propaganda within the United States."

I have often thought about applying the provisions of FARA to those groups and individuals receiving funds from overseas for the construction and maintenance of mosques in the USA. Foreign agents registering under this act must file reports on the respective funds and failure to do so exposes them to risks of fines and possible imprisonment. It seems that this is an ideal route for helping to reveal the exact relationships between domestic Muslim groups and their overseas counterparts and contributors.

Has this been done yet, and if not, then why not?

As for CAIR, I also wonder why the US government has apparently not made an attempt to enforce its own laws as mandated by the will of Congress. By its public statements and meetings with Congresspeople and other politicians, CAIR obviously tries to influence legislation therefore qualifies as a lobbying organization representing foreign interests and should be registered for that. What does it take to get the Justice Department to investigate these apparent flagrant violations of US Federal Law?...a complaint from a citizen, or must such impetus originate in the Oval Office? Good luck with that!

"Spencer ... has also been a critic of the religion of Islam itself, suggesting that the historical Mohammed, for instance, did not exist, and that the portrayal of him in the Qaran [sic] is of a 'con man.'"

I don't recall that Robert ever suggested that Mohammed never existed; but if he did, he would be in good company, since some very noted Islamic scholars have suggested that. I don't recall their names, but I'm sure Robert or Hugh could supply them. The suggestion was that the Arab conquerors of Egypt, Syria, and Persia noted that their newly-subject peoples all looked back to a great prophet [Moses, Jesus, Zoroaster] and referred to holy books by, or about, these prophets [the Old and New Testaments, the Avesta] and felt the need to counter them with their own "prophet" and "holy book", inventing Mohammed and the Koran.
As for Mohammed being a "con man", again I don't recall Robert ever using that expression, but it is clearly one that any rational person would think of after reading Moslem scriptures, where Mohammed is granted all sorts of special privileges and prerogatives, and where centuries-old traditions were overturned for Mohammed's benefit. Mohammed resembles nothing so much as a '70's guru or cult leader on a grand scale. He's Jim Jones, inflated by several orders of magnitude.

CAIR's credibility continues to fall and Robert Spencer's continues to rise. This is a good example here. Of course, CAIR works with one enormous liability and that is that truth is not on its side. More folks are realizing this as time goes on (N.B., neither Chris Matthews nor Keith Olbermann will probably ever realize this).

suggesting that the historical Mohammed, for instance, did not exist, and that the portrayal of him in the Qaran [sic] is of a "con man."

lol, this guy has absolutely no idea what he is talking about. I guess Robert wrote a book ALL about Muhammad for nothing?

When did truth become "hate"?

The fact the FBI did not cave to political correctness and rescind its invitation gives me hope. At least there are a few left in government who are willing to hear unpopular, yet truthful, speech.

...said CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper, who also noted that Spencer and blogger Pamela Geller recently published a book subtitled, "The Obama Administration's War on America."

LOL! That Hooper had to add that little unrelated notation is hilarious. Sounds to me like he is attempting to signal Barack Hussein to intervene. Let's see if the FBI later rescinds.

November can't come soon enough for me. I just wish it was 2012.

"Our nation's law enforcement personnel should not receive training from the head of a hate group that seeks to demonize Islam and to prevent American Muslims from exercising their rights as citizens," said CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper ...

Lying & Projection Alert! This comment by "Honest Ibe" bloooows me away, especially since islam is the hate group intent on destroying America. Liar, liar, pants on fire! ...yeah that's not-so-honest, Ibrahim Hooper.

The quran is a manual for murder full of hatred for non-muslims, and islam was founded by the most EVIL of men: muhammad. And those calling mo a "con man" are merely being kind, since he was much worse than that. He was not only a liar, but mo was a thief, a "pedophile", and a mass-murderer, as well.

Robert Spencer is a whistle-blower, and CAIR is trying to silence the Truth About Muhammad & Company. Afraid it's too late, Boys ...

When did truth become "hate"?

Answer: When it interferes with the left's progress, so-called, and insistence of imposing total government on the people. You will see this hate charge leveled anytime the left believes that the people might actually process the information being imparted as both level-headed and factual and therefore contrary to the fables that the left wishes to sell.

When common-sensical people begin to ask questions about Islam and they don't receive answers that square with their own life experiences, and they begin to question even more, receiving in return even more foolish answers, that is a very good thing.

This reminds me of the famous observation of Arthur Jensen (found in Winter 1968 issue, Harvard Educational Review), "In other fields, when bridges do not stand, when aircraft do not fly, when machines do not work, when treatments do not cure, despite all conscientious efforts on the part of many persons to make them do so, one begins to question the basic assumptions, principles, theories, and hypotheses that guide one's efforts."

So the GREAT disconnect: "Islam is a religion of peace" VERSUS the number of murders and out-and-out cruelties practiced on others who do not agree with that basic assumption.

I think the U.S. should not allow religious Muslims to serve in the U.S. military, or even allow them to work in FBI or CIA, period. I have a Singaporean (Chinese) friend who told me that Muslims in Singapore are allowed to serve in the military, however they cannot hold office in the intelligentsia field for fear that they might subvert Singapore's political, economic and multicultural stability. It makes sense.

"November can't come soon enough for me. I just wish it was 2012."

Hear, hear, DJM! ...NOBAMA 2012 is the bumper sticker of choice, right? Right! Hey put one on your car NOW, and buy one for your wife's car, too.

America needs real leadership, not some thumb-sucking, ass-kissing president like whats-his-face. For instance, over 70% of Americans are against the mosque at Ground Zero, so what does our president do? ...why he sides with those initiating and enflaming this controversary (some bridge builders, eh?). And then Obama LIES by stating that this issue is about "freedom of religion". What?! This isn't about freedom of religion. Already there are 100 mosques in New York, so what a load of crap, eh?

Those pushing to build this mosque know that Nobama is a one-term president, which also explains why they are so desperate to get this monstrousity built in record time under his islam-loving leadership. And it's no wonder that more and more Americans believe that O's a closet muslim ...

"Daisy Khah" stated that muslims died on 9/11, too. Yeah, we know, Daisy Con! ...there were 19 muslims to be exact that died on 9/11, so thanks for reminding us as to why we hate islam & company. Yeah, and these 19 muslim men UNDERSTOOD perfectly well what they were doing, as well.

Ben Smith writes in the piece that Robert Spencer is

suggesting that the historical Mohammed, for instance, did not exist...
Here's what Robert Spencer actually writes on p.31 in The Truth About Muhammad:
In all likelihood he [Muhammad] did exist -- particularly in light of recorded aspects of his life that are acutely embarrassing for Muslims...

In that regard, Ben Smith distorts Spencer's position.

To Smith's credit, though:
-- Smith in his piece links to Spencer's press release on CAIR.
-- Smith also links, without comment, to Spencer's criticism of Smith's piece.
-- Smith doesn't trash Spencer in the piece.

To his discredit, Smith fails to note any of the problems with CAIR: its ties to Islamic supremacist groups, its co-conspirator status in a Hamas-funding trial, the arrest, conviction, and deportation of various CAIR officials on terrorism-related charges, and the supremacist statements of CAIR officials.

Did FBI suddenly get a backbone while dealing with Muslims??? Any moment now the whining from these crybaby Muslims will start and Big Zero will weigh in how stupid FBI is inviting a "islamophobe" for training!!!

"November can't come soon enough for me. I just wish it was 2012."

Me, too. We have got to get the Muslim OUT of the WH.

oops ...

I meant "monster-osity".

There, fixed ...

Ya know, if this guy would just ADDRESS such complaints then he'd stop getting 5-10 complaints per day!

He doesn't actually sound too bad for a MSMer, just a bit naive, but he sounds open to learning and his politeness to Spencer is a nice change of pace.

Why would the FBI invite someone with a criminal record?

Unindicted or not, they still run the risk of infiltration and deception. CAIR cannot be trusted to give sound and reliable advice to the FBI, who is doing their damnedest to stay ahead of the bad people, while being pounced on by the current administration, who are supposed to be the good people but cannot be trusted either.

I feel sorry for the FBI.

CAIR cannot be trusted as far as you can throw them, which by all appearances, isn't very far. They are like yoyo’s; they just keep coming back.

"Spencer, along with his confrontational stand toward the New York project, has long been at odds with Muslim leaders for alleging links between American Muslim leaders and extremism"..Alleging?? How's about PROVING!..

Bravo for all the responsible people in FBI.
It seems like that CAIR and its ilk always assume themselves to be the LORDS of every non-Muslims.They always behave in a manner that is digusting and unacceptable to all civilized and dutiful patriotic American citizens.
No Christian group,Buddhist immigrant group,Jewish group or Hindus ever demanded any government agency like CAIR and its ilk.
Enough is enough.FBI and CIA must stand firm against such act of intimidation from these people.

Think there will be a fatwah against the F.B.I.?

It wouldn't surprise me if there was a fatwah against the F.B.I. But for now I'm just enjoying the good news of the Bureau's stand against CAIR intimidation!

"CAIR's attempt to intimidate the FBI and JTTF and dictate their choice of speakers contained numerous false charges, defamation, distortions, and outright lies about me, SIOA, and Pamela Geller.

CAIR has a long record of duplicity and deception...."

Goebbels said it was crucial for successful propaganda to portray the victim as the aggressor. In essence, he said it was essential to reverse the equation re victim and agressor. that's what he did with the Jewish people. Goebbels knew that propaganda is not about logic or truth (he and Hitler both noted that).

"The stapled stomach bee keeper" (Fibrahim Hooper) is not that bright, and is more or less a sock-puppet, but there are some (Muslim Brotherhood?) that are very well aware of Goebbels' theories and they have state resources (probably Saudi) to back them up.

It is very difficult for persons (Robert, Pamela, the outdoor cat e.g.) or groups of private citizens to counter state sponsored propaganda because they do not have state resources to do that.

At this point I think Israeli Intelligence must develop a counter-propaganda to expose these "little Goebbels" and their sock-puppet flunkies. "The outdoor cats" (Spencer, Pamela, Hugh e.g.)are not going to be able to do the job alone.
