Jihad plotter came to Norway in UN refugee program and became Norwegian citizen

Gratitude. "Norway 'bomb plot' underscores al-Qaida pitfalls," by Ian Macdougall for Associated Press, August 29 (thanks to all who sent this in):

OSLO, Norway - When police arrested a suspected al-Qaida cell in Norway last month they turned up the makings of a bomb lab tucked away in a nondescript Oslo apartment building.

An Associated Press investigation shows that authorities learned early on about the alleged cell by intercepting e-mails from an al-Qaida operative in Pakistan and -- thanks to those early warnings -- were able to secretly replace a key bomb-making ingredient with a harmless liquid when one of the suspects ordered it at an Oslo pharmacy.

Officials say the suspected plot against this quiet Nordic country was one of three planned attacks on the West hatched in the rugged mountains of northwest Pakistan by some of al-Qaida's most senior leaders. The other plots targeted the bustling New York subway and a shopping mall in Manchester, England....

The Norwegian plot's undoing, and that of its sibling plots in the U.S. and Britain, casts light on the potential pitfalls of al-Qaida's changing tactics in the decade since the massive, highly organized Sept. 11 attacks. In recent years, al-Qaida has grown increasingly decentralized and nimble, relying on amateurs to recruit local cells and carry out smaller-level attacks without extensive planning and hands-on training.

While such plots are harder to detect, they are also harder to manage -- and the slack remote control they often require leaves greater room for operational error and sloppy tradecraft.

All three plots were thwarted after suspected operatives exchanged e-mails -- sometimes poorly coded ones -- in and out of Pakistan.

Authorities say the ringleader of the Norwegian plot is 39-year-old Mikael Davud, an Uighur who came to Norway in 1999 as part of a U.N. refugee program and then became a Norwegian citizen eight years later. Uighurs, a largely Muslim ethnic group in China, claim oppression at the hands of authorities there.

Davud was arrested July 8 along with suspected accomplices Shawan Sadek Saeed Bujak Bujak, a 37-year-old Iraqi Kurd, and a 31-year-old Uzbek national, David Jakobsen. Both are permanent residents of Norway.

The trio denies any connection to terrorist groups....

It's time we stopped participating in the UN refugee program.

If we choose to take refugees on our own, we must exclude Muslims.

Al_Qaeda and those who chase them...

It's a good thing that so many dastardly plots are uncovered by the worthy, but just like security in a gambling casino, they are constantly modifying their procedures because the cheats are constantly up grading theirs...And every now and then they are taken for a ride just the same...The casino's are smart enough to know that there is more than one kind of crook scheming on the money...Those chasing terrorists are either blind or oblivious to the fact that Al-Qaeda is only one brand of Islamic terrorists...When the casino stops a card cheat, another cheats the craps/dice game...Which is why they have pit bosses, who watch for all of it...Those chasing terrorists could learn a few things from casino security...

No doubt about it...it is time to close the borders to Muslims...

While such plots are harder to detect, they are also harder to manage -- and the slack remote control they often require leaves greater room for operational error and sloppy tradecraft.

If only the Jihadists took more pride in their work, there'd be a lot more dead Kaffirs...

Reminds me of Michelle Malkin's article from a few years ago, "Jihadists exploit our hospitality and open borders... again" (May 9, 2007).

Excerpts:

Well, here is the thanks we get. Eight years ago, America opened its arms to tens of thousands of ethnic Albanian refugees from Kosovo. The first planeload landed at Fort Dix, New Jersey. Military leaders worked day and night to turn the base into a child-friendly village. They coordinated medical and security checkups, mental health and trauma counseling and ethnic food preparations.

Soldiers from Fort Bragg traveled up from North Carolina to assist in refugee operations at Fort Dix. Then-U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Mitchell M. Zais also assembled a team of about 80 soldiers from the U.S. Army Reserve Command in Atlanta. The New Jersey National Guard and American Red Cross teamed up to coordinate charity relief. The military also supported the relief effort's interagency task force, headed by the Department of Health and Human Services.

In addition to food and shelter, we provided translators, welfare consultants and Muslim chaplains. The base constructed prayer rooms and handed out Muslim "sensitivity" cards to the troops. Said Gen. Zais: "We want to welcome these people to America the way we might wish our grandparents and great-grandparents had been welcomed to Ellis Island."

Fast-forward from 1999 to yesterday's headline news: "Fort Dix Plot Aimed At Soldiers; Authorities Say 6 Islamic Militants Arrested, Were Plotting Attack At N.J. Base." Three of the alleged plotters were illegal alien brothers from the former Yugoslavia. Another was a legal permanent resident from the former Yugoslavia. Another hailed from Jordan, and the sixth was a naturalized American citizen originally from Turkey.

And the respond from the "moderate" American muslim community?

And what is the Muslim community doing to condemn the accused traitors in our midst? Carping about the government's actions to stop jihad in its tracks:

"If these people did something, then they deserve to be punished to the fullest extent of the law," said Muslim lawyer Sohail Mohammed. "But when the government says 'Islamic militants,' it sends a message to the public that Islam and militancy are synonymous.'"

The thanks we get, huh?

Rescind citizenship, then deport to China.

Oh my China will not be so kind to Muslim Jihadis. Tough.

"Uighurs, a largely Muslim ethnic group in China..."

Why doesn't the Press, or the police, or the FBI, ascertain whether that Chinese beheader on the bus in Canada, or the Chinese beheader at Virginia Tech U., were Chinese Muslims?

It seems eminently reasonable that when someone multiply stabs, guts and beheads a stranger on a crowded bus ride; or when someone beheads someone else in a crowded college cafeteria, one's first instinct is to assume they are Muslim -- and then subsequently, one tries to find evidence to either prove, or disprove, that guess. But no, the institutions that are supposed to investigate and safeguard our societies would rather studiously avoid that particular thread of inquiry.

Western countries should only accept non Muslim refugees. They don't give trouble to western society and willing to integrate.Muslim refugees should be send to Muslim countries like Saudi Arabia,Iran,Turkey and etc....Where they are rightfully belong.Domestic animals belongs in the house and wild animals belongs in the wilderness.

When are the Norwegian people going to learn that admitting Muslims from anywhere into your country is like allowing poisonous snakes to take up residence in your house. I can guarantee you are going to be bitten by one of the snakes and probably die. It is not a question of if but when.
