NYC Gubernatorial hopeful Lazio: Now that we know Con Ed owns part of the site, let's pull the plug on the Islamic supremacist mega-mosque at Ground Zero

This is simple common sense, since the mosque developers have once again been shown to be operating under false pretenses. But common sense has, of course, been in short supply lately among New York politicians. "Lazio: Let's pull plug on mosque," by Chuck Bennett and Isabel Vincent in the New York Post, August 9:

GOP gubernatorial hopeful Rick Lazio yesterday called on the Public Service Commission to zap the Ground Zero mosque because of the revelation that Con Ed owns half the site.

"As governor I will appoint commissioners . . . who, like me, oppose this group's plan to build a mosque at Ground Zero -- and I encourage New Yorkers to call the Public Service commissioners and tell them the same," he said.

The disclosure in Sunday's Post about the property's ownership proves the mosque's developers "have been operating under false pretenses," he said.

The commission, which oversees utility rate hikes, may get to weigh in on the controversial plan if Con Ed sells its building on Park Place to mosque developer Sharif El-Gamal.

El-Gamal, of Soho Properties, paid $700,000 last year to take over a 99-year lease on the utility's building and has said he wants to buy it outright. [...]

Assemblyman Richard Brodsky (D-Westchester), who chairs the committee on corporation, authorities and commissions, personally opposes the mosque, saying, "This is the site of mass murder. It would be much better if the parties could get together and figure out something that is reasonable."

But Brodsky, a candidate for attorney general, said he won't get involved.

"The law has to be fairly applied to everyone without regard to religious views," he said.

Even the PSC is not sure it will have a say.

"As of today, we are not sure if this issue will even come before the commission for a determination," said spokesman James Denn.

Gov. Paterson, who supports the mosque, won't get involved, said his spokesman Morgan Hook.

Con Ed said it would follow its "legal obligations under the lease" and not consider outside factors....

'GOP gubernatorial hopeful Rick Lazio...'

Says it all really.

"Muhammad was a child marrying, raping, murdering, sack of humma waste"

Says it all really.

The silence from the Obama administration is indeed pregnant. The goings-on in New York agree with their ideological discipline.

You know the nabi heard from a reliable source that Angels travel at the speed of light. What an amazing fact which would be unknown to us except for the awesome coolness of mohametan science. In fact using this totally scientific principle and adjusting by a factor of cosine(whatever angle makes the answer come out right) we can see that the magic book of the mohametans actually gives a value for the speed of light which is correct to alla knows how many decimal places. It shows the superiority of the mohametan science since it was more than a millenium later until the infidel Fizeau actually measured the speed of light experimentally. What a waste when he could have just read the magic book. Silly infidels.

nabi ZK (pbum)

Joseph. They are not silent! They have sent the imam, as and envoy of our State Department, on an all expense paid tour of the mohametan Gulf states to raise funds for this glorious project. The hussein administration has been far from silent on this issue. And we should all remember this in November.

Calm down.

KK. You forgot to include necro hallucinating madman. Just saying.

nabi ZK (pbum)

You know, a lot of those union workers in NYC are fairly patriotic sorts. Can't we get them to boycott the work??

Has the State Dept offered an explanation on exactly why it has gotten involved in the Imam's project?

Yes, I understand that Hillary is an Ivy League Moron, but this move is beyond the pale.

@Islamic Empire:

Don't ever tell us what to do. Got it?

Mohammed was a pedophile. If you deny this, Islamic Empire, you are guilty of shirk.

On to Con Ed. Let's remember that candles are halal, Besides, Islam likes the dark.

You might enjoy reading about Ad-Dajjal in hadith...Find a hadith search engine and type in Dajjal...

Yeah. Not only did Muhammed see dead people--he dated them.

It is all very well and good that Rick Lazio has made such sensible remarks. But if anyone is wondering why such remarks aren't heard from more of our politicians or political wannabees, the first question to ask is: What have I done personally to bring this matter to the attention of those folks?

While it's good to check in on sites such as these, to learn and share information, it's important to get involved locally to raise these issues. We've seen videos of planning commission meetings in New York, where foes of the 9/11 mosque were able to speak movingly against this deliberate slap in the face to the people of New York and the United States. But where are the protests not only from a New Tork state gubernatorial candidate but also candidates for other offices in other states.

As Pamela Geller, Rober Spencer and others have pointed out, this is more than a simple zoning matter. This is a matter of historic significance for the US and all-tto-few of the so-called "political class" are missing in action. Where are they. We the People need to bring the political hirelings to heel. Keep writing those letters to your representatives. Get others to do so as well. Get yourself over to those local zoning meetings, beacuse you don't know what kind of fast one might be attempted next.

This is a democracy. We need active players not a passive audience.

Here's an example of sharia justice in the raw assoicated with Islamic sharia law. You too can possibly experience this type of cultural activity and exchange in lower Manhattan should Mayor scaredycat, qwik-dhimmi, insta-crier Bloomberg succeeds in facilitating $100 million mega-sharia headquarters east on ground zero:

WARNING: Clip shows shooting of a couple accused of adultery in Pakistan.

I am calm. Why would you assume I'm not? My description of your evil monster of a false prophet was just that, an accurate description. Has nothing to do with being excited.

Your nabificness (PBUY) has again provided much food for thought. We too often forget the many contributions from islam, like:

End-of-Life Counseling: "I KEEL you!"

Building Demolition

Medical Science: FGM, "virgin restoration"

International Relations: Daniel Pearl

Victim Psychology / Mob Psychology

City Planning: 9/11 mosque / Dome of the Rock

Genocidal Studies: Armenia, India

Population Control: "I KEEL you!"

Earth Sciences: Boobquakes!

And that only scratches the surface. How can we feel less than admiration and gratitude for these advanced and evolved people who've brought us so much?

Oh yes. The Boobquakes. Let us not forget the Boobquakes. One wonders what offense the najistanis have caused for alla to send such destructive flooding.

Church vs. Mosque. St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church a venerable center of that faith in New York City was utterly crushed by the falling towers. Nine years later, mired in bureaucratic red tape it still has not been rebuilt. Triumphalist mosque which is a kind of 'architectural dance' on the graves of thousands of victims.... hurry up and pass it! Build it! NOW!!!

as an ex muslim, I am srongly opposed to building this musque. I work in NYC. it is arrogant and insensitive to say the least. I oppse this on moral groaunds. Mayor Bloomberg who defends this is very correct. the government has no business in telling where to build a house of worship. therefore this guy Lazio is a dooshbag and he should not be voted in the office. State and church do not mix. what needs to be done here to expose the a...holes behind the people who are trying to build this mosque. what is neede here is PR. education...

Of course it must be the fault of their women. Perhaps they should be flogged, stoned, and or paraded through town bare ass nekid.

nabi ZK (pbum)

PorkFriedLies . . .From your link to the video:

"In an extraordinary move, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, called on the people of Pakistan to defy their government, saying they "need to speak out forcefully against a policy that is ceding more and more territory to the insurgents". "

Abject hypocricy by our State Dept. which is ceding/funding Imam "Pinnochio" Rauf's fund raising trip for this mega insurgency plotted for ground zero.

It's not only what they say and don't say. . .follow their actions:

From Infidel Bloggers Alliance:

Apparently Michelle‘s al-Andalucia trip was part of Baracks “outreach” program as well.:

English version

"[The first lady could also see another American politician, known for Obama, who is staying these days in a private house in Marbella: Jesse Louis Jackson Jr., Democrat member of House of Representatives of the United States, son of activist and former presidential candidate Jesse Jackson and also the national coordinator of the presidential campaign of Barack Obama.

Varias casas reales árabes también pasan sus veranos en Marbella desde hace años. Several Arab royal families also spend their summers in Marbella for many years.

Thus, there will be a meeting between Michelle Obama and Prince Salman bin Abdul Aziz, governor of Riyadh and brother of the late King Fahd of Saudi Arabia, while another meeting is shuffled from the first lady with the owner of Málaga CF, billionaire businessman, son of Qatar's Interior Minister and member of the Qatari royal family, Abdullah Al Thani.

Hmmm-tempted to say we now know who will be replacing Burris (not the first time JJJ’s tried to buy that seat, or Obama sell it), and those royals have the dough to give the blow the go, not to mention the fact that JJJ was on Obama’s top 5 trojan horse replacement list (so to speak), and his Dad (along with Farrakhan & Wright) is tight with Gaddafi..

Why are they not “reaching out to US”, oh wait..

Nabi - there may be children listening!

Muhammad is reported to have said: Allah is not one eyed while Anti-christ, Dajjal is blind but one eye will be covered by thick film and the other will be protruding like a bulging out grape.

Ha ha:
http://www.jihadwatch.org/2008/10/happy-halloween.html

Mayor Bloomberg who defends this is very correct. the government has no business in telling where to build a house of worship.

That's correct, but the local gov can tell a Church/Mosque etc, where they 'cannot' build...Historic designations, zoning, building codes etc...

Not to mention the US Supreme Court's affirmation aka KELO aka eminent domain

First off the political or ruling class doesn't care what we think or want or even if our lives are put in danger by their insane decisions.

Look why should they care? They have police and military personnel protecting them 7/24 and who will die to protect them. The Muzzies can't touch them and they know it.

Secondly the mosque Iman is acting as a agent of the State Dept which means he has the approval of Obama and Hillary. Why do you think no major organization in NYC dares oppose this abomination. Even the JDL which is about as anti-religion and lawsuit happy as they come didn't have the cajones to sue against the Mosque, yet this same organization can be found filing lawsuits across the country against prayer breakfasts and the like.

The sad fact is the people are alone in this fight, all the large organizations have taken a powder or have shown their true colors.

agreed 100%. if there is zoning issues/ historical sites etc... I thought that everone was trying to delclar this a historical building. wasn't this the case

everone was trying to delclar this a historical building. wasn't this the case..

Yes it was, but that effort failed...I think the entire six/eight square blocks around GZ should be designated a National Historic Monument...No big changes allowed...

You forgot "camel urine drinking ..."

You know, a lot of those union workers in NYC are fairly patriotic sorts. Can't we get them to boycott the work??

Exactly, the architects and construction companies all should be boycotted. Make it known that they will never work in New York City again.

I know the geography doesn't make this possible, but if you've ever been to Gettysburg, you can hardly tell you aren't there in 1862. It is hard to see anything commercial or industrial going on at all.

At the very least, they could make sure things that are built around the site are tasteful enough to not disturb mourners and those who come to honor the dead.

What if we put a statue of Marx next to the Wall in Washington DC?

Or a statue of Robert Bird on the Mall where King, Jr. stood?

How about a kuffir church in Mecca?

Come on, IE, tell us why we can't.

Is it even legal to send imam rauf on a state department visit to the Middle East. I thought there was separation of church and state. Can we get another lawsuit going similar the one regarding sharia banking in AIG (now owned by the Federal Gov.).

The state Dept. IS gov. Can they do that?

I don't know where to start in opposition of this waste of my taxpayer money...

I don't know this for a fact but I'm afraid the ConEdison and the Public Service Commission is (also) infiltrated by Islamists.

Cordoba sounded too sure of themselves about being able to get this project going. Their lease may include something about an option to buy or something similar. Is the lease a public document that anyone can take a look at?

I am sure Con ed will buckle under the pressure from NYC's dhimmi mayor Bloomberg. So far Lazio is showing some backbone in opposing the GZ mosque. If elected, he may also become a dhimmi!!!

I don't think we would get any help from Public Service Commission. Members of all these public services are so much indoctrinated with PC that its no use expecting any help from them.

Sorry tan...Maybe they could just shoot them in the back of the head taliban style.

nabi ZK (pbum)

Kozak -- have you (and everyone else) heard about NYC construction worker Andy Sullivan and his Hard Hat Pledge. He's trying to get all the construction people in NY to refuse to work on the demolition of the present site and the construction of the mosque.

It's bad news that the State Department sponsorship of Rauf's tour has confirmed that the fix is in on this at the highest levels. As Walid Phares and many others have warned, Islamic infiltration runs all through the government and even the military. But that can't stop the snowball that this thing has started. The Raufs deserve a special We Woke The Sleeping Giant award and SIOA has brought this story home to millions of Americans who will remember in November.

Hey, Islamic Empire -- how you like them Big Apples?

Perhaps the best thing people could do is to buy shares in ConEd (NYSE ED) and begin petitioning the company as shareholders.

One would hope that ED isn't a medical condition.

poetcomic

you observed:

"Church vs. Mosque. Build it! NOW!!!".

(Let's note, too, that Mr Spencer has told us that *his mother* was baptised in St Nicholas' Greek Orthodox Church! It has associations for us jihadwatchers).

I reckon that SIOA and other organisers of the next big protest against the 9/11 Mosque should invite the priest and parishioners of St Nicholas's to come to the protest, tell the story of their little church, pass round the hat ( St Nicholas's was part of New York history for nearly 100 years, even non-Christian non-Muslims in NY have a stake in getting it rebuilt) and tell the assembled protesters which bureaucrats and politicians need to be lobbied, massively, in the interest of getting that there church rebuilt - bigger and better and more beautiful - ASAP.

Put it this way: even if the Muslims do get their mosque, it will spoil their satisfaction no end, if *even closer to Ground Zero* there's a great big shiny-new Orthodox church with a nice high bell-tower! Get the architects to work: the new St Nicholas's has *got* to be taller than the projected Mosque. With bells! Loud ones!

Like I said many time this Mosque will be built.

But fendo. Why would you want the mosk built when it is than public relations nightmare for mohametanism. Could it be. Might it be. Than you are than pseudo mohametan troll. Than nabi is just asking.

Your Friend

nabi ZK (pbum)

That is Tarek Fatah's tiny radical moderate organization and they are use to being threatened by their fellow mainstream Muslims.

Why do I get the feeling Bloomberg would be singing a different tune if his election were this November.
This man has an ego the size of Alaska. Why else would he spend millions of his own money for a job that pays $250K/yr.
Could he have his eyes on a bigger political position?

You know, medieval Europeans seem actually spot on about the 'Moors'--spawn of the Anti-Christ, and so on.... How would you feel being attacked again and again?

And you known what, defenderofislam, you will lose again. We're not going to let you bring all the superb cultural achievements you've demonstrated in the Middle East over here. I despise your culture (I mean this in the best possible way...). http://www.theyellowumbrellabook.com/

I was walking down Christopher St. Sunday, and the door to St. Veronica's was open, and the priest was performing mass to a group of Guatamalan believers....and I went in and received the host. It is such a beautiful old church. I just love my civilization, and I love being an Anglo gay catholic humanist mensch! Yeah!! Peace to all...including Muslims! Peace, peace, peace.....

Dear 'prince'

lovely posting!

So...

let me introduce you to someone I think you'd have loved, had you met him when he was posting here (2006, up until early April 2007).

Just click this link:

http://www.jihadwatch.org/2007/03/dominic-rip.html

He was a regular poster here for a year and a half and then, tragically, he died.

Dominic Tabrar-Synge, youngest son of a large, old-fashioned English Anglo-Catholic family from deep in the home counties of England. Brilliant, erudite, witty, absurdly young, and gay.
