Spencer: Bloomberg's Ground Zero Mosque Dividend

In Human Events this morning, I explore what might be behind Bloomberg's spurious claim of the moral high ground in the debate over the Islamic supremacist mega-mosque at Ground Zero:

[...] And in the spring of 2009, Bloomberg opened a news bureau in Abu Dhabi, joining its existing offices not only in Dubai, but in Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia. And Bloomberg Chairman and Managing Director Peter T. Grauer announced plans to expand Dubai operations still more: "Central to our growth strategy is the doubling of staff strength in Dubai office, our 10th regional hub, from 48 to 100 people within a year.... We will be investing not just in more people but also in infrastructure to support clients in the region."

Grauer revealed that while Bloomberg was taking a bath worldwide, business was booming in the Middle East: "Despite the difficulties faced by the financial sector in the economic turmoil, our terminal sales in the region grew by 2% in the past nine months, when globally we faced a major setback." Khaleej Times reported that "the New York-based company has drawn up a five-year plan that will see it achieving a two-fold increase in revenue from the Middle East region by 2014."

Imagine how quickly that revenue stream would dry up if Bloomberg sided with the people whom Rauf and other leaders of the Ground Zero mosque initiative are busy smearing as "Islamophobes" and "bigots." When his company is doing poorly worldwide except in the Middle East, it couldn't have been hard for Bloomberg to see on which side his bread was buttered.

Business decisions are business decisions. But if Bloomberg was making a business decision when he came out so strongly in favor of the mega-mosque, he would have been more honest, and admirable, if he had just said so. He might even have retained some respectability if he had simply said that his business commitments in the Middle East made for a conflict of interest, and recused himself from the debate over the Ground Zero mega-mosque. But that conflict of interest does make his moral dudgeon over the mosque opponents appear hollow and hypocritical. It isn't easy to be a saint, and it's even harder when the material rewards for striking a saintly pose are as ample as they are for Saint Bloomberg of Brookline.

There is more.

Why am I not surprised? The love of money is the root of all ev1l, and this is a very evil man. I bet that Rudy has heartburn remembering that he "supported" his election bid. "St. Michael, the Archangel defend us in the battle and in the terrible warfare that we are waging against the principalities and powers, against the rulers of this world of darkness, against the evil spirits." AMEN!

And to you Mohammedans,

لن استسلم‎

"Capitalists will sell you the rope that you can hang them with." - Lenin

I believed it was all about money from the outset but I didn't think Bloomy was lining his own pockets with Islamist oil money. Bloomberg anticipates NY State finances to collapse in the coming months and as NY State's goes so goes NYC. I thought Bloomberg would seek a bailout for NYC with arab petro dollars. Making deals with the devil will take you to a bad place. I believe Dubai is a disaster guaranteed to happen and it will destroy Bloomberg's wealth just as surely as his backing the mosque is destroying his credibility. I believe his health and mental focus are slipping.

"He might even have retained some respectability if he had simply said that his business commitments in the Middle East made for a conflict of interest, and recused himself from the debate over the Ground Zero mega-mosque."

Yes well, his "respectability," and business commitments in the Middle East made for a conflict of interest...WITH AMERICA!!!

What a dirtbag.

A slimy snake, not too far removed from Madoff.

Greed.

Gross materialism will be his Waterloo...It's already showing...

Well we all know what he worships now.

Anti-jihadists have consistently denounced Bloomberg's orchestrated demonization campaign.

When will Bloomberg (and his Quisling toadies in the media) publicly apologize to the secular Muslim NY Cabbie and his family for inciting the pro-jihad mosque vigilantee (Michael Enright) to moby violence?

It's now past time to take a little ownership for Bloomberg's orchestrated Islamo-supremacist advocacy campaign.

What gets lost in all Bloomberg's recent demogoguery is that the Muslim cabbie victim is himself a hateful hater, bigot, inauthentic, xenophobic, neanderthal-- at least, if you go by the criterion set out by Bloomberg (and his Quisling toadies in the media): Opposing the mosque is "Islamophobia"-- period. Right?

As an anti-jihadist, however, I’m inclined to observe that the Muslim cabbie’s pretty much consonant in his opinion of the Cordoba mosque with a super majority (70%) of his fellow Americans.

That Bloomberg's proteges (in the media and elsewhere) will be disappointed to discover the opinion of this Muslim cabbie apostate tells you all you need to know about the two "sides" of this debate.

Still waiting for that apology, Quislings for Islamo-supremacism.

Yes, yes, YES. Follow the money! Way to turn the light on that little cockroach!

And don't expect Ken Vogel of Politico to follow suit. He's too busy being Pelosi's poodle.

So, what might be the obscure connection between the two muslims in Amsterdam and jihad? And the OBVIOUS and GLARING connection between Bloomberg and his interests?

Uhm, I*SLAM?! Money, Intimidation, Gory Glory?

With this CONFLICT of interest, Bloomy should recuse himself from any and all things associated with the mosk.

Better yet, get him in front of a camera and ask him how much he stands to make in Dubai...

OTP but there is a close parallel to the GZM in India:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/wendelgrindlepicker/4945467031/

built on the ruins of the citadel of the last Hindu rulers of India, the structure, begun in the year of conquest, 1193, was clearly intended to proclaim the arrival of Muslim domination. (why a screencap of an ebay advert for an antique slide is used is explained in the description).

I used to like Bloomberg and think his policies would be good and benefit NY. No doubt his wealth and mass holdings would be negatively affected by Arabs taking a dim view of him. His position makes it impossible for him to have an impartial view and say over the matter of the GZM. Giuliani's honorable and correct refusal to allow Arabic petrodollars form tainting anything to do with 911 and NY civic life contrasts greatly with Bloomberg's cowardly acquiescence.

Also consider:
"Cordoba Initiative" becomes "Park 51".
Extell builds "Carnegie 57". . .a sharia friendly enterprise, on behalf of Abu Dhabi.
The 9/11 "Freedom Tower" at Ground Zero becomes "One World Trade Center".

Coincidence?

Carnegie Corp of NY’s scholarships promote sharia law, Islam.

Aabar Investment,

". . . a company controlled by the Abu Dhabi Government, is helping fund the development of a 73-storey luxury apartment building and hotel in New York City, across the street from Carnegie Hall. . .higher than the three tallest skyscrapers within the area: Carnegie Hill Tower, the Metropolitan Tower, and CitiSpire. . . incidentally named "Carnegie 57" constructed by Extell, run by Gary Barnett .

Rumor has it:

>" . . .Matt and Shvo were entertaining at Bagatelle a few months ago - supposedly spent $90,000 on champagne at a brunch there with a group of Arabian looking men. Looks like it is paying off now that they've got these guys buying their units for $2,000 a foot."

After Push by Extell, Landmarks Backs Down Over West 57th Street Building
"You can see Gary’s fingerprints all over the city in what has been done and will be done.”

Aabar Investment has paid Extell for a majority stake in the the project,

". . .and the deal could be the "start of several property projects in New York" from the Middle Easterners. The Essex House right behind the vacant lot is owned by Dubai's Jumeirah, so maybe this neighborhood should now be called the Emirate? "

Who's who at Ground Zero planning

". . .a scholar and charity head appointed to President Obama's White House Fellowships Commission is closely tied to the Muslim leaders behind this proposed controversial Islamic cultural center to be built near the site of the Sept. 11 attacks. The White House fellow, Vartan Gregorian, is president of Carnegie Corp.of New York. Gregorian also serves on the board of the Sept. 11 Memorial and Museum. The museum is reportedly working with the American Society for Muslim Advancement, whose leaders are behind the mosque, TO ENSURE THE FUTURE MUSEUM WILL REPRESENT THE VOICES OF AMERICAN MUSLIMS." [emphasis mine]

MONEY TRUMPS PATRIOTISM IN NAME CHANGE TO 1 WTC

Quote:

". . .the Port Authority decided to rename the "Freedom Tower" at Ground Zero - "One World Trade Center" "As we market the building we will ensure that the building is presented in the best possible way," said PA Chairman Anthony Coscia.

In July 2009, the real estate company and developer Soho Properties, led by Sharif El-Gamal purchased the Burlington building

“, initially planning to build a condominium complex at the site.”

The deception was not a simple offer/purchase:

“El-Gamal didn’t spring this on the neighborhood. He says it took eight years to negotiate the purchase.

Eight years of negotiating prior to a 2009 sale? El-Gamal was attempting to purchase the Burlington building while the steaming pile of 9/11's rubble was being pulled apart!

So how many palms were being greased w/ME oil profits during this eight year period?

This is truly amazing what one finds when one digs deep enough and follows the money trail.

It's just like turning over a rock and seeing all kinds of wiggly, nasty creatures underneath.

Something about the mayor just didn't seem right when he was so quick to green light the Victory Mosque, and also so quick to label those who questioned his decision as "un-American."

Keep up the good work.

As the great Abraham Lincoln said, "You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time."

Unless of course, you work for the NY Times!

El-Gamal contradicts the eight year negotiations story with the following posted online today with HuffPo:

Park51 Developer Sharif El-Gamal Helping Raise Money For Second Mosque In Harlem

". . .The inspirations for El-Gamal's current, controversial project lay not overseas, he said, but uptown.

When he moved to Manhattan's West Side in 2007, he and his wife joined the Jewish Community Center in Manhattan, which runs a popular health club and hosts lectures, art exhibitions and film and music festivals.

The JCC, like its East Side counterpart, the 92nd Street Y, has transcended its religious affiliation to become an important cultural institution, and el-Gamal envisioned something similar downtown, but with a distinctly Muslim flavor.

As El-Gamal tells it, he dispatched a young employee named Francisco Patino to scout possible locations. Patino, a former contestant on an ABC reality game show called "American Inventor," came back with a list that included a former Burlington Coat Factory warehouse empty since it was damaged in the 9/11 attacks. It took another four years to buy the property."

Way to go Robert ! You are on the right track - they can hide everything, but not the thinly disquised Oil Money Bribes. You are bound to win - nothing lights up the truth more than dark money.
henry crux PROMISES you will win very soon now because truth is stronger than Oil Money Bribes.

Super, super summary. Stomach-turningly enraging.

Symbols are of great import in Islam, from what I have been told. The date of the original attacks was not random: 9/11 is where we call when an emergency threatens us - when we do not know what else we can do to help a terrible situation. It was a TAUNT.

More disquieting symbolism:

The Supremacist Victory Mosque is to be at a height of ---13 stories.

That's right ----13. (Plus the 2 below ground)

13 is as unlucky a number in the Arabic world as it is in the West. Is this number of floors being chosen to EMPHASIZE AMERICA'S BAD LUCK - more rubbing of our noses in the devastation?

Are the 2 floors "below ground" - buried in the earth, like graves in a cemetery - are they symbols of the Towers and its 3000 people crushed to ash?

In no way are any of these things NOT planned for their malevolent meaning.
